Matcha lovers unite! This is THE place for all of us matcha lovers to call home. Hence the name of this business - Ohana Hui Cafe (in Hawaiian, hui means to join, unite or gather). With the wonderful customer service that they provide, you will feel like family when you visit. Don't expect to find an air conditioned cafe for you to spend the afternoon, though. Located on the corner of Queen St and Cooke St, you'll find a cute little house serving up matcha in a variety of ways for you to pick up and go. Take note...Ohana Hui opens at 10 am every day. I visited on a Wednesday at around 11:15 am and this place was slamming! I think this is a daily occurrence. There is limited street parking nearby, so the best option is to visit with a friend who can drop you off to pick up the goods for the both of you, while your friend waits in the car somewhere nearby. On my first visit to a new business, I like to ask the employees what they recommend. The first employee recommended the Einspanner, as it's very popular. I did mention that I am a huge matcha lover and didn't want the matcha flavor to be demolished by other unnecessary sugary extras that many places tend to do. Troy (another employee listening nearby) recommended that I go with either the Earl Grey or the Haupia with oat milk instead if I wanted a stronger matcha flavor. I decided on the Earl Grey because I am a fan of that as well. Troy was super sweet to offer to make me a Haupia if the Earl Grey didn't satisfy my tastebuds. The wait for my drink was maybe 15 minutes, but it was worth it! You may want to consider bringing an umbrella while you wait, as there's no shade for you to hide from the sun. The Earl Grey drink was spot on. I commended Troy on his terrific recommendation, but do want to go back some day to try the Haupia drink. Don't forget....they are completely digital for payments. Don't bring cash.
I love Ohana Hui! I always recommend it for any of my friends who are visiting and want matcha! I've tried most of the menu already, einspanner is my #1 fav and my fav einspanner all around. We've tried their earl grey, my bfs fav, then the calamansi glow, strawberry, ube, and horchata. The line gets long on the weekends but they workers move pretty fast! Parking kinda sucks since it's a small lot and is shared with anytime fitness. The workers are always super kind!
Been wanting to try a new matcha spot for awhile and came across this place. Parking is rough - could do street parking but I didn't have the patience to wait for one to open up. Instead, I parked at h mart and walked over. Was it worth the walk? Absolutely. It was really hott but the drink was a nice reward. I already knew what I wanted because I never had it before anywhere else - machata matcha. I was craving for something cold and sweet...this was a winner.
Ohana Hui Cafe is a matcha drinks cart located right outside of Anytime Fitness on Queens St. I've heard and seen their matcha lattes on IG; and despite being nearby, I never tried their drinks till now. I had to try their matcha einspanner and was definitely not disappointed. A solid 5/5; the hearty dollop of einspanner sweet cream with ceremonial Uji matcha was a rich desserty drink. Can't wait to try their banana matcha next! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to try high quality matcha latte in town.
Refreshing beverage in Kaka'ako, Honolulu, Hawai'i... I was driving around the Kaka'ako area and saw a line for this Food Truck. I remembered that Ohana Hui Cafe had great reviews. The obstacle was parking. I kind of made my own space in the free shared parking lot where the truck is situated. Service was very friendly and efficient. I wanted to ask the young gal about her Maryknoll School shirt, but I didn't want to take time away from other customers. I'll go back and ask... LOL! I ordered a Strawberry Matcha (delicious and beautiful) and took a photo along the sidewalk where other customers commented on the photo layout... haha! Cony and Brown are famous! Anyway, go check out this small local business. They're serving up some good things!
FANTASTIC IF you can have dairy!!!!! High quality matcha lattes for ~$9-$10. All of their fun flavors come from their cold foam! So if you cannot have dairy, stick with the Pau Hana (regular matcha latte). If you can indulge, their earl grey and calamansi matchas were so creamy and still plenty green after mixing in the cold foam! Unfortunately they were out of some flavors and the parking situation is a bit sticky (shared parking with Anytime Fitness or street parking). Overall good flavors!

My favorites are the Einspanner Matcha and the Banana Matcha. The Einspanner has an amazing sweet cream foam that pairs so well with the matcha. Just make sure to give it a really good stir because a lot of the matcha is on the side of the cup. The Banana Matcha was also sooo good. It tasted like real banana instead of artificial banana flavor, and the sweetness was just right. I also appreciate that they don't pack the cup with a ton of ice, so you actually get more drink. Parking can be a pain, but the service is quick, so you're usually in and out pretty fast.
Undeniably, Ohana Hui is probably the most popular matcha spot in Honolulu at the moment. There is always a line. It's a food truck, so this is strictly grab-and-go, and you'll likely be waiting under the hot sun with no shade. Over the span of two weeks, I've gotten Ohana Hui four times. I've tried the Einspanner, Nana, Strawberry, and Earl Grey. Their matcha has a strong, earthy flavor, and the cream top is THICK. I also love that each drink comes with a cute cup sleeve! One thing I wasn't too sure about is the amount of cream top to drink ratio. There's a lot of it and it's almost half the drink! While I personally would prefer a little less cream and more matcha, all of the drinks I've tried have been enjoyable. My favorite has to be the Strawberry. Definitely worth trying if you're a matcha lover, but be prepared to wait in line and be sure to wear sunscreen!
Parking is shared with Anytime Fitness, and they have designated stalls, but it's verrry small. If you can, I'd recommend getting dropped off or finding nearby street parking instead. I stopped by on a Saturday late morning and only waited about 5 minutes in line. They were super efficient taking orders and my drinks were ready just a couple of minutes later. I ordered the Einspanner Matcha and the Ube Matcha, and both were seriously delicious. I'd rank them way up there compared to other matcha spots I've tried. The matcha had a nice umami that was well balanced with the cream and other flavors, so nothing tasted overly sweet or watered down. I actually think a lot of matcha places are overpriced and the matcha taste is underwhelming masked by all the milk and cream, but this one is worth it. The cup size is generous, and more importantly, the matcha actually has depth and tastes high quality. Highly recommend if you're a matcha lover!!
Came here after seeing all the hype on socials! It's a lil truck next to anytime fitness kakaako. It's good, there might be a line but they're super quick to have your order ready. Parking is more the problem than the line. We tried the einspanner and earl grey matcha. Both were good, everything seems to be a little on the sweeter side. Not sure if you can customize the sweetness level. Didn't ask them but I think a regular matcha option would be a good addition to the menu. I'd like to try the other flavors but maybe when I can enjoy it as a sweet treat and not as my morning caffeine.
Finally made it to Ohana Hui Cafe after seeing it all over my Instagram feed, and it completely lived up to the hype! It's such a colorful, eye-catching little stop that you can't miss it. I ordered the haupia matcha, and you can instantly tell they use high-quality matcha--super smooth, rich, and well-balanced. Even with a steady stream of customers, the staff was extremely friendly and the service was shockingly fast. The only small downside is that the waiting area gets pretty hot in the sun without much shade, but the amazing drinks and warm hospitality make it more than worth it. Can't wait to come back!
Went during lunch hour but was able to find street parking. There was a short line when I arrived but got my drink within 15 mins. Nana $9, matcha with banana foam. The banana had a tartness to it that worked so well with the matcha. Not grassy tasting nor too sweet.
Ohana Hui Cafe is one of the trendier matcha pop-up / trailer cafes of late. They serve iced matchas, so the menu is limited but a small menu is often a good sign - cafes can't be all things to all customers, or else compromises are made. The matcha is very good. I tried their Einspanner - which is similar to an iced Viennese Coffee...or Wiener Melange. The O-O Bae ( Ube ) Matcha Latte is also quite good. It has an Oreo crumble added atop the Ube cold foam. Both on the sweet side, which I don't mind. Lines are long but the service is fast...so I avoided an unitended suntan on both occasions. Also, the line has at least 80% Asian customers - so, you know the matcha bevvies are good. I'm 100% Japanese ( 98 % from the Southern Islands & 2 % from the Northern ( mainland ) Islands) ...so I can say it. Blame Ancestry.com for my ancestral breakdown...their database in Asia is probably not as accurate as it is in Europe or North America. Apparently, there are demarcated stalls shared with Anytime Fitness that you can park at...not sure which ones. Plenty of metered stalls and unmarked parking...good luck with either option. Now open daily from 1000a till 400p on the corner of Queen Street and Cooke St.

one of my favorite matcha places!! 10/10 - been my go to since a few months since they've started & I would take the drive from west to town for this * started to get busier with how popular it is now but it's never a miss, always hits the spot whenever I drink their matcha - my favorite of all time is the Matcha Einspanner & the Banana Matcha , I've been dreading to try the other flavors again too aha the people are so sweet and friendly, and amazing service read more
WORTH THE HYPE . Got the Earl Grey Matcha: matcha with earl grey cream top and pistachio topping. It wasn't too sweet at 75% sweetness (lowest for some reason) where you can still taste the earl grey & matcha flavor. However, I would prefer 50% sweetness just to taste the matcha flavor more. Cream top and pistachio crunchy topping was good too. Parking isn't great where it's either the small lot (usually full) or street parking. Service is very fast, got the drink in around 2 mins! The one thing I didn't like is that they don't post prices, so you don't find out until you pay (~$9). Still, I think it's one of the best overpriced matchas in Hawaii. read more

I LOVE matcha, I make it at home everyday with matcha powders I got in Japan. I can't remember the last time I went out to buy a matcha latte because I've been disappointed EVERY time by how little/light the matcha is. It always tastes like straight milk with a whisper of matcha. But I was recommended to try it from here, so I stopped by after going to Whole Foods. 6 drink options on the menu, and they all look pretty yummy! I got the einspanner, nana, and strawberry with whole milk. The woman working was very sweet and efficient. Unfortunately, every drink barely tasted of matcha :( very very weak. The cream/foams were strong/sweet though! If you want fun drinks, this is a great option. If you want MATCHA, it's not. read more

These are delicious! I'm curious if it would be possible for you folks to add coconut milk to the choices. Because coconut milk is the kind of milk that allows the antioxidants & catechins to be most absorbed from matcha. Just a suggestion, these drinks are so tasty and I would come anyway, but having the coconut milk as a choice would be awesome! read more
LOVED! The quality of matcha was solid, not the absolute best matcha quality I've had, but it was good. The flavor of the strawberry to matcha ratio was well balanced. There was little freeze dried strawberries which added a wonderful consistency as I was drinking! My husband got the ube oreo which was also delicious. They're a little truck located in a shopping center. I would recommend trying this spot out! read more
overall, it was probably the best matcha we tried in hawaii, but there weren't many options and id say i would only come back bc it's in hawaii. cali matcha places r better the drink flavors were nice but the matcha itself was not strong and just not the flavor i like however, the service was so nice and they remember faces when u come back! the speed of the orders r decently quick too. read more

I went to Ohana Hui 3 times now, and it's become one of my favorite matcha spots! Their matcha is more dessert-y than others, but I love all their fun concoctions! My first impression started off weak due to one unfriendly employee, who also messed up my order--but since then I haven't seen her, and the team members I have seen are so nice despite the heat and busy long lines. Each drink costs just under $10 with tax. You can choose oatmilk or whole milk. Be sure to follow their instagram account to check for business hours, new drinks and updated menu! I've noticed the wait for drinks is much shorter now too! So glad this business is located close to my work--the perfect pick me up! Highly recommend. Parking can be tricky, but there are metered spots nearby and some in a shared lot with a gym. read more

10000/10 THE ONLY MATCHA LATTE MY MAN LIKES He has sipped every matcha latte I've ever had & overtime his view has become significantly better as we find new spots. But this is the only place where he voluntarily gets his own matcha. My sister in-law recommended this place to me as they have been popping off on social media thanks to the people who work / live in the area. The parking is probably the worst part which is why I never come alone. My husband has to circle around or park in a no park zone. They're currently in a Food Truck Trailer wrapped in an Acai bowl business. I did overhear the cashier that they're getting it wrapped next week. The trailer is in the parking lot of anytime fitness but that parking lot gets full quickly & congested with cars. Luckily the line moves quick - the cashiers are always so willing to answer any questions you may have & we get our drinks under 5 minutes almost always. The drinks come out the same every-time and give me the pick me up I need for our days off! We literally drive to town from the west side just for this and drive back home, that's how good it is. read more

I kept seeing Ohana Hui all over Instagram, so I knew I had to give it a try, and it did not disappoint! I can see why they're so popular. I ordered the Nana matcha latte, and I honestly think they have the best banana matcha! The banana cold foam isn't overly sweet and tastes like real, fresh bananas rather than artificial flavoring. On another visit, I tried the Matchata latte, and the horchata sweet foam was delicious as well. The matcha latte itself is rich and flavorful, especially when you sip it through a straw and get the full matcha taste. Honestly, it's worth the $9! The line can get pretty long, but they do a great job getting drinks out quickly. Parking can be a bit challenging since they're located in the heart of Kakaʻako and share a small parking lot with Anytime Fitness, so I usually have my boyfriend drop me off lol. Overall, this is definitely a must-try spot for matcha lovers! read more

The hype is real for this matcha spot! When you arrive, you might see a long line, but it moves pretty quickly. My go-to order is the Earl Grey Matcha. It's the best of both worlds because I love both flavors. The matcha is creamy, rich, and perfectly smooth. You also have the option to upgrade to ceremonial grade matcha, which I highly recommend. You can tell by the color that it's high quality matcha. The only downside is that I wish the parking were a little better. read more
Soooo...I made the trek to this Matcha truck that has been on my list for a long while. The line was long at 10 minutes before opening so you know it's gonna be good. I just want to say...Thank You to Ohana Hui for making a quality product at an affordable price. I was very surprised on how the prices..in a happy way! The service was great too. I really love the customer service here the staff are friendly, welcoming and truly delightful, which makes the experience even better. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte with oat milk. The flavor was lovely and the matcha itself was smooth, but it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Next time, I would definitely go with about 25% sweetness. Overall, great vibes and warm service. I would happily come back again and just adjust the sweetness level on my drink. read more

Coming from a matcha girly, I'm telling you the hype is real! I got the Einspanner which consists of a matcha base coated on the walls topped with a thick layer of house-made cream. It was rich, earthy, & sweet. I can't forget to mention how beautifully deep that matcha color is! 10/10, would get again. If you're looking for a dessert type of matcha you have found the place. I am a big fan of einspanner having to travel 4 times a year to Southern California. Hawaii wasn't doing einspanner till all of the matcha pop ups. Don't get confused about the HI Cravings açaí bowl truck. It is under new ownership the Ohana hui has taken over. Located in the same parking lot as anytime fitness. Only thing is I can't see them making the matcha being made and they are banging these out pretty quick. I like to watch the matcha being freshly whisked. I was in a line with 8 people in front of me an I got to the front in less then 10 min and got my drink 5 min after ordering. They have it down. been here TWICE!! super yum! Definitely not your typical matcha. In my opinion their matcha is a very very creamy sweet kind of matcha if that's your vibe. I appreciate how it doesn't taste watered down how most matchas do. The cold foam def adds to the creaminess as well. The einspanner is super yum and creamy. It has a nice salty cold foam but my fave would def have to be banana! Calamansi was pretty good, only the foam is flavored here not the drink itself I think. Good flavor for those who like lihing/lemon peel. * their cream/flavors are all whole milk base so not lactose friendly. My friend was able to get their matcha with water base but no flavor which is kind of sad bc the experience is not the same :( read more
Located in Kakaako, Ohana Hui is a stand in/by the parking lot of Anytime Fitness and other businesses. The purple-ish stand features a small menu of matchas. Among the matchas are the matcha einspanner and matchata (horchata matcha). We went to try the matcha einspanner because I have not really seen this on menus in Hawaii, and love this drink! We had some difficulty with the parking because the lot is quite small, and street parking can be difficult to find. We ended up finding a spot and got in line. We have grown used to seeing a line when we drive by, and this day was no different. The wait was not too bad. The people working were pretty quick. However, they were out of a couple of their drinks when we got to the front. This would have been a bummer if we wanted one of the other drinks. They did have the einspanner though! We got the einspanner, which was good. The drink was creamy and sweet. It was $9, which is a bit high for us. Not the highest we have seen from matchas at different businesses, but still a bit pricey for us. While the drink was good, it was a bit more of an effort to find parking and wait in line. I would also be concerned the drink I want would be gone by the time I get there. While they may have just been short on supplies that day, the smaller menu can make it more challenging to find alternatives to what one might want. read more
Located at the corner of a busy street. It was easy to spot. It is in the same parking lot as a gym but we parked on the street instead. The menu is very simple - 6 drinks. Don't underestimate it though because the two drinks we ordered were delicious. Ordered the Matcha Eispanner and Strawberry Matcha. Both were worth the drive. This spot is cute and they definetly have enticing flavors, I can see why they have a lot of people lining up for them. Unfortunately for me, I'm not a fan of cream top/sweet foam or dessert matchas and this felt like drinking a can of icing or heavy whipping cream. I could barely taste the matcha and my friend had the same sentiments. Parking is also very limited since they share parking with anytime fitness and street parking can be very difficult to find. I will say we tried this when they first opened next to anytime fitness, before they did their renovations on their stall. With that being said I'd be willing to maybe give them another try if it doesn't involve the sweet foam but from my first experience I personally did not enjoy their strawberry matcha. read more
matcha - dare i say, this may be my favorite matcha on the island! the cold foam definitely gives it a more dessert style drink, so i don't think i could have this everyday. but that being said, the flavors are so perfectly balanced and you can tell that they use great quality matcha, which is so hard to come by! service - super quick and easy ambiance - this is a very small store located on Queen street, mainly a place to take your matcha to-go. read more
This is a super popular matcha spot and I can see why. Their menu is tiny (only 5 drinks) but they're all super popular. We got the matcha einspanner and the banana matcha. Normally we don't really like banana drinks because they taste artificial, but this one was actually really good, there were real banana pieces on top and it didn't have that fake banana flavor at all. I will say the drinks are kind of pricey (around $9 each), but they're really filling, so it's not your typical small matcha. They're definitely on the sweeter side, but not overwhelming. Parking can be a little tough when it's busy, and because it's blown up on Instagram/TikTok, it does get crowded. It's also just two ladies working out of a small box next to a gym, which is super unique and feels very local. Would try again. read more
Overall really good matcha! Would get again if I want a treat. There was a lot of cream in the Einspanner and it's perfect because we were looking for a treat after hiking. If i just wanted a simple matcha I'd probably find somewhere else but would definitely come again when I'm craving decadent matcha read more
