So disappointed :( I remember coming here 2 years ago and the matcha drinks were SO GOOD. But I recently came and got the guava matcha and it was so underwhelming- I was even hyping it up to my boyfriend. Matcha was VERY mild... I could barely taste the matcha- the guava flavor was nice and the boba was fresh but overall the drink was ok. It tasted like mild guava tea. It seems like shrinkflation got to junbi too. Very small amount of drink for the price $, I believe it was ~$9 for a small cup.
Stumbled upon Junbi while walking around Waikīkī. They currently have a collaboration with Peanuts and have themed cups and merchandise. A few drinks were also featured with the Peanuts partnership. The Chocolate Hazelnut Hojicha Latte was one of them. It was topped with a brown butter toffee foam. The Hojicha tea roasted flavors worked well with the chocolate and hazelnut. I preferred this version as opposed to a comparable latte using coffee as the base. The foam was more sweet than salty. The toffee flavor was overshadowed by the chocolate and hazelnut flavors. I had this latte made with coconut milk and was pleased with the result. I'll definitely return when visiting again.
Snoopy promotion going on at Junbi! We had to check it out! I ordered the chocolate hazelnut matcha latte with brown butter toffee cold foam. This is a combination of flavors that will tickle your inside tastebuds! Mix together to get a smooth and delicious mix of matcha, chocolate and hazelnut. The cold foam has tiny bits of toffee. The snoopy cup is adorable with Snoopy sipping on a drink! Service was fast and easy. Great smiles all around. 5 star service here. This was a worthwhile adventure into Waikiki. Got the matcha and POG tea drink - the size of the drink was NOT 16oz, even though it's labeled that way. The drinks itself weren't good either - the tea was watered down and the matcha barely had any taste. The boba was not chewy either. Very disappointed.
Drinks were very good, service was quick and it was in a central location at Royal Hawaiian Center. My daughter had a matcha latte with guava and I had a hojicha latte with strawberry. I think we liked the drinks because you could taste the tea but it was still sweet. Not too sweet as you can adjust the sweetness as well. They also have options for alternative milks for an additional cost. If you're Kama'aina, don't forget to get your three hour free validation at their Helumoa Hale guest services. Just make sure to save a same day receipt of $25!
Ok, but definitely could have been better. I've had Junbi in Irvine and it was actually significantly better than the one in Waikiki. We had the guava and the lilikoi and the regular matcha latte. All of them had a strange flavor that we didn't really enjoy. The girls behind the counter were nice and made the drinks quickly, we just didn't think that they tasted that great. Maybe an off day since we know that Junbi drinks are usually pretty good.
I know junbi is super hyped, they have so many cute merch (miffy themed) and all, but after trying a few of their drinks I can confirm their drinks are not for me. Something about their teas taste watered down, it tastes like watered down juice and I'm not getting much tea flavor. On top of that, drinks cost $10 each. Their guava matcha was better than the other drinks like strawberry green tea/pog green tea, but I'm not a huge guava girly. Their matcha was just ok, just tastes like matcha water. For the price point, there's better out there for sure.
Junbi is widely known for its matcha drinks and has locations all over the U.S. and around the world. They are quite experimental with their drinks and offer drinks like coconut matcha cold brew, pineapple coconut matcha latte, and yuzu dragon fruit green tea. This location serves soft serve too, but I'm not sure if all Junbi locations have it. Junbi also often does drink and merchandise collaborations with popular character companies such as Miffy and most recently, BT21. Since I was at the Waikiki location, I had to go with something tropical to match the vibes and thus tried the GUAVA MATCHA LATTE ($9.75) with light ice and 0% sweetness (note that the guava concentrate that use is pre-sweetened). The GUAVA MATCHA LATTE had a beautiful ombré of pink, green, and white and was as pretty as it was tasty with strong notes of guava and earthy matcha. I'm very glad I went with 0% sweetness as someone who normally gets 30% or 50% sweetness for my boba drinks. The barista was sweet and helpful. I got my drink within 5 minutes after ordering. However, the lid was NOT properly sealed (they vacuum seal a plastic seal onto the plastic cup) and so it spilled and dripped all over my walk down Ala Moana Boulevard to my hotel :( So taking off a service star for that. Prices are obviously steep here, but the drinks are 20-oz as opposed to 16-oz at other matcha locations and they let you do light ice (unlike Maruwa Seicha). Note that there is no designated seating area and so you'll have to take your drink to go on your walk or find a nice park bench somewhere. Overall: 4/5 for drink, 4/5 for service, 4/5 for atmosphere

Workers were helpful in choosing the sweetness levels and giving recommendations. They were also super fast in getting our order out especially with the crowd during december. The drinks however were not that good in my opinion. We were super excited for the BT21 collab but the black sesame was too strong. The matcha and especially the milk green tea was very watery. I think your best bet is to get one of the fruit teas! The place itself is super aesthetically pleasing and cute. During Christmas time there was a huge tree where a lot of people take pictures. The mall is also nice.
My favorite spot in this area of Waikīkī to grab a quick matcha. I love that they have cold brew matcha with tropical flavors! The staff are all nice and can help adjust sweetness and ice levels as necessary. I highly recommend checking it out if you want to try a tropical twist on matcha!
Its a nice refreshing drink. Matcha is good and I get mines sweetened. I'll stop by here when Im in the waikiki area. Located in the Royal Hawaiian shopping center. Total for my drink was $10.19 yes its on the pricey side so I dont get this often.
Stopped by after dinner for a refreshing pick-me-up. We have wanted to go to this place since it first opened as we have long been fans of this franchise's owners from their YouTube days. It is located under Island Vintage Coffee in the heart of the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. Junbi serves up creative flavor pairings with their matcha drinks. I ordered the Yuzu Dragonfruit Matcha Cold Brew (50% and regular ice - to share with the wife) and my mother-in-law got a local specialty the Lilikoi Matcha Cold Brew (no sugar added and normal ice). They allow for adjustments on the ice and % of sweetness. I got boba with mine and she got aloe jelly. Both drinks were so bright and refreshing. Mine particularly stood out as it had a great Yuzu flavor on the front end and finished nicely with a strong matcha flavor on the back end. It blended nicely and their boba was soft with a great chew. The drinks came out quickly and the service was excellent. We enjoyed our drinks with the others' desserts at the stage of the Royal Hawaiian with the nighttime lights overhead. Will 100% be coming back during this trip to try more and will make this a spot to routinely visit every time we come back to the island!

Overall: Expensive but it tastes just as good as it looks. Soft serve: The guava was sweet but the matcha flavor balanced out the sweetness level to perfect. Price: Touristy price - $15 for one. read more
For what used to be the small size they now charge is about $9 and half the size they used to be for the same price. They say it's about maintaining quality with higher costs but makes no sense when the larger drinks just used to have the same amount of matcha with more milk also matcha prices have increased they have not gone up 150%. Now they use the cheapest cup possible taking away every once of value. You're better off getting matcha at Starbucks with these prices and massive decline in quality and size. The matcha doesn't taste as good as it used to either which is sad. The staff is friendly. The location is great around all the shopping and clean. read more

They currently have a BT21 collab and loved the galaxy matcha drink. They also have tumblr mystery boxes, ceremonial matcha, tote bag, and some stickers for this collab. The galaxy matcha drink consists of black sesame, purple sweet potato, and matcha. Matcha wasn't really strong but subtle. Only a fan since I like black sesame and purple sweet potato. The drink flavor was more of a mix between those two. Quick service here from this stand. Some seatings around the area. Would get this drink again. read more

This was my first time trying a coffee chafee. It was okay. I definitely prefer to have my coffee or matcha separately. I did enjoy that the drink was not too sweet and the location was conveniently located. You walk right up to the window and order. The wait was not long at all either. read more

Everytime we come to Waikiki we make it a point to come to junbi for their matcha! Wow they never miss - I got the mango matcha latte this time and 10/10! Right on the ground floor under island vintage at royal hawaiian center you cannot miss it! I have had the guava matcha & the strawberry matcha as well (not pictured) and you will not be disappointed read more

Cute and clean spot. Lots of varieties to choose from. I got the sea salt caramel matcha latte and it tasted okay but did not taste any sea salt caramel. It just tasted a normal Matcha latte with some cookie crumbs. We also got a strawberry matcha and my fiancé is not a huge fan of matcha but he said it was actually pretty good. My son had a strawberry milk, he's easy and he said it was good. Staff were nice. Place looks clean. Prefer to give this place a 3.5 but will give 4 stars instead of 3. read more
We arrived on a Monday afternoon and headed over here mid-evening. Luckily there was no line so we were able to take our time looking at the menu. We heard about this place because of the owner/youtuber that my husband listens to. The facility was clean and the decor was super cute with Miffy items on display (my daughter loves (Miffy). The guy at the front was very kind and also helped us choose our drinks. We went with the matcha cold brew with oatmilk and strawberry matcha latte, also with oatmilk. The cold brew was okay...I would give it a 6/10. I tasted only a hint of cold brew and the rest was watered down. The strawberry matcha latte, however, was delicious! A small storefront that featured big flavored drinks; perfect for a warm afternoon. A balanced taste of matcha and strawberry on one drink, matcha and mango/guava purée on the other. Nothing fake or watered down like other places, this is the real deal with great customer service! read more

Ordered strawberry matcha late and strawberry refresher. They ran out of boba around 3 PM on a Sunday, which was a disappointment. Service was okay, they didn't ask ice/sweetness level, but it was served quickly. The strawberry matcha is delicious, and I can see myself ordering this again if I'm in the area. However, I do think the prices are a bit extreme, being around $9-$10. The strawberry refresher was meh. It tastes sweet and good, but it's essentially watered down strawberry juice. I would not order this again. Overall, not my favorite boba spot on the island, but I do think their matcha drinks are yummy. They also have cute and fun Junbi x Miffy merch, but it's pricey. read more
It's located in the heart of the mall area by v the giant Christmas tree. Went for a Lycee tea craving and found this spot. Easy to order. As for taste, not what I expected. There was way too many pieces and not enough flavor to enjoy for the price. Overall ok read more

As a huge fan of matcha, I couldn't walk past Junbi without ordering a drink. They have matcha lattes, matcha cold brew (no milk) and a variety of other tea drinks. I really wanted the Lilikoi Matcha Cold Brew, but when I went to order at the kiosk, it was flagged as out of stock. As my second choice, I went with the GUAVA MATCHA COLD BREW ($8.88) instead and absolutely loved it. I requested it to be "less sweet" which turned out perfectly... bright and refreshing with a prominent burst of guava flavor. Luckily, I could still taste the matcha for itself, although it was on the more subtle side. This drink was fruity, tropical and perfect for the warm weather. Plus, matcha has its health benefits, so it was a completely guilt-free treat. As much as I loved my drink, the cost of almost $9 seems rather steep, but it could also be partially due to the location in the resort area of Waikiki. Two employees ran the small stand. The one at the register was very personable and offered to enter our orders as opposed to leaving us alone with the kiosk. With so many places opting for a self-service ordering system these days, I appreciated this interaction and his willingness to help. Junbi appears to be opening locations around the US and I am excited to see it's coming to Seattle soon! 4.75 stars. read more
We went around 11 am so there wasn't any wait. The matcha lilikoi cold brew tasted great, almost like a lemon tea. The Miffy Sakura lychee green tea with a milk topping was both of our favorites. Tasted sweet and creamy so it was perfect for the afternoon. Would highly recommend the miffy series! read more

Super cute little stand! I ordered the cold strawberry matcha latte, it was good! I would have given more stars but every time we would walk by, everything I wanted to try was sold out. I was lucky to be able to order this! I guess sold out isn't such a bad thing though! read more

Located in the Royal Hawaiian Center, near the stage area. Cute little shop. Order from one window, pick up in another window. They have cute BT21 items for sale. We ordered a Strawberry Matcha Latte w/Boba. Matcha was smooth and tasteful. Overall, the drink was delicious, would order again! read more

Perfect matcha, 10/10!!! I got the koko head which is the matcha soft serve (you can choose vanilla or even swirl too for almost any soft serve options) with coconut flakes, matcha dusting and guava purée, it was delicious! My boyfriend got the affogato with espresso and swirl ice cream and he also loved his so much, a great combo for affogato lovers. Come here if you love good matcha for sure read more

Strawberry matcha is THE BEST!!! I love matcha! And the strawberry is fresh! Each time I make it into Waikiki, I make an appoint to go there!!!!! I tried regular matcha latte. It was ok. I like stronger tasting matcha. So strawberry matcha is what makes me give 5! read more
Came here in the morning and there was no line and ordered immediately. Their menu is very extensive with a lot of varieties of matcha. The pineapple coconut matcha stood out to me so I ordered it and it was more than $10!!! I received it pretty fast as well and the employees were very nice. The drink was overbearing coconut and not a lot of pineapple or matcha taste although it still tasted good and it was a large size drink. read more
