I explained my situation and gave her an amount I wished to spend on the flowers, to which she took my Mom's address and my credit card information. She asked me how I heard about the shop, to which I told her I found her on Yahoo!, and that she probably should "claim" her business, especially in light of the 70+ 5-star reviews. I was looking for a tulip birthday arrangement for my girlfriend during the COVID pandemic. Flowers & Fun was one of the few florists that were bringing in tulips from the mainland. I ended up deciding on Flowers & Fun since the owners (Sue and Wayne) were very responsive via email, and overall their prices were most reasonable. After a few emails back and forth, we agreed upon the cost and the arrangement and set the date + note. Unfortunately, the governor of Hawaii retracted his earlier statement that allowed florists to be open during the pandemic, so Sue informed me very quickly that they would be unable to work during the conditions, and would let me know if anything changed. It all worked out, as the governor allowed florists to work during Mother's day. There was some miscommunication on how the flowers were going to be delivered (since I wanted to keep it a surprise), but all in all, it was a great success. I was thoroughly impressed with the care and consideration this mom and pop flower shop provided me. I definitely felt the aloha (even though I ordered by phone from the mainland). I ordered a large tropical arrangement to be delivered to my auntie's in Kahala. We spoke briefly on the phone and discussed price. I agreed to $100 for the arrangement and then the delivery was around $10. I think in total around $115 after tax. I did ask for a photo of the arrangement once they were completed with it too. Wow! I have never seen such a beautiful arrangement before. My auntie was delighted and it made her so cheerful! I'll definitely order from them again. Great services from beginning to end. I've received many floral arrangements -- roses, spring bouquets, etc. But it's not just the flowers that are beautiful but the customer service that sets FLOWERS n FUN apart from the others florists. I spoke to Sue and she mentioned that they no longer operate out of a storefront (they used to run "Varsity Flowers" in McCully). They have great pride in what they do and they are very responsive to suggestions or open to comments. That's not something you see in a lot of businesses. Furthermore, they are a small family business. I am 100% in support of small Hawaii businesses since it is tough to survive in these times. Being a DIY bride as we are saving for a house, vendors were of the utmost importance for our wedding. I wanted the best quality, but with a budget that wouldn't break the bank. As it was DIY, I also wanted a vendor that was quick with responding back to my emails, as time was totally my most valuable commodity with so much to be done. Flowers for our reception centerpieces and other miscellaneous vases were in my top 5 of vendors alongside other important places in a wedding. Because let's face it, a centerpiece can make or break your reception look. Finding a flower vendor that will help us DIY brides was surprisingly hard to find. After going through 2 others unhelpful vendors who wouldn't give me straight answers, tried to sell me centerpieces that looked skimpy for $45 each (um, no thanks), or were just simply unhelpful, I turned to Yelp (should've done that first!) and found Flowers & Fun. Their website got me with the "DIY Weddings Page" and their long list of flowers that you could look up to see, and also the fact that they could pretty much get anything from anywhere, just ask! Upon initial contact with Wayne of Flowers & Fun I knew we were going to go with them. Not only did he respond to my inquiring emails within a couple of hours (sometimes less than that!), but he was extremely thorough and helpful, sending me a list of flowers that I might be interested in for that look I was going for, and even listing their prices! I sent him pics of my vases that I would be using for our wedding and he let me know his thoughts. Also their prices were extremely reasonable!! Heaven sent!! The particular flower I wanted had to be shipped in from New Zealand because their opposite seasons, but even with that, the price was still extremely affordable. Throw in Wayne's superb communication level and you've got a STEAL. On the day of my wedding, my centerpieces thanks to these guys were absolutely beautiful (and thanks to our DIY ness, were less than $20 each!) and TOTALLY blew those skimpy centerpieces that others flower shops tried to sell me for $45/ea out of the water!! And I could not have done it without Wayne & his wife from Flowers N Fun!! For bringing my vision to life, it was absolutely priceless. Even when we underestimated our flower count and I emailed Wayne in a panic at 8:30pm (after store hours mind you) a week prior, he responded within half an hour calmly and said not to worry and that they would get more flowers, which they did. If you want a flower vendor that can respond to you within an amazing timeframe, get the job done with professional efficiency, gives you an idea of other flower options, and is friendly and helpful to boot, go with these guys for your DIY wedding flower needs. You won't regret it! They made the "Flowers" portion of my wedding planning too easy, and that is always the best plus when planning your own wedding!! Also, their prices won't break the bank, and the flowers were of superb quality, fresh and beautiful!! Our guests took home all the centerpieces and kept remarking at how beautiful they were!! I've bought flowers on the mainland for years before moving to Oahu and was kind of nervous on how expensive it might be buying flowers on the island. I called, gave my budget, and a description of what I was looking for. Let's just say they overachieved on my expectations were. It was such a huge bouquet for $100. That same price point wouldn't get me much in California. When I placed the order I gave them the wrong address. I received a call the next day asking me to confirm the address because they didn't know where it was. Good thing they plan ahead because I did end up giving them a bad address which saved them from running around downtown and potentially not getting the flowers delivered.
