Such a huge fan of Plantoem! This is a plant shop, a cafe, and a community event center, all in one! While waiting for an appointment, I stopped by Plantoem to check them out and to kill some time - their cafe offers floral teas, coffee, and herbal drinks. I had a Spritzer, which was prepared with soda and your choice of lavender or lilikoi syrup - I opted for the latter, and this was expertly made! So bubbly and fizzy, and the right amount of lilikoi flavor! Very refreshing, and I loved how it was served in a glass with a glass straw! The staff here are super friendly and kind! There are also cozy seatings in their cafe. Be sure to check out their variety of plants; staff are readily available to assist! One of my favorite cafes of Kaimuki. I rotate between the hibiscus tea, hojicha, and honey matcha. Refreshing, reasonably priced and staff are nice. Matcha is bright green and the umami flavor clearly comes through. A popular spot for people to study, work remote, and talk story. As a student, I needed space for both a laptop and textbook so the previous white tables were too small for me to work and eat on. As of 2026, they revamped their space and added slightly bigger tables and more seating. I like that they expanded the next room and made it a lounge area where no ipads or laptops are allowed. I really appreciate this because I hate going to a cafe thinking I'll be able to sit and enjoy a drink and pastry for a bit but can't find a seat because everyone is working on their laptops for hours. You still sit pretty close to your neighbors and it's also a quiet environment, making it easy to hear other conversations. There's no AC so it can get warm on muggy days. Any other time, the open windows let in a nice breeze. If you come prepared, it's a lot better than a freezing starbucks. 90 minute limit. Parking lot is tight. Walking into this place is like walking into an oasis. I can be spend forever in here looking at all the plants that I've never seen before. To be honest, I do not have a green thumb and I usually kill plants. However, I've gotten multiple plants from here and they are all still happy and thriving. The staff are super knowledgeable about every single plant. They know the name and what it likes. It is amazing that they can remember all of it. They also have the best customer service. They will spend time with you to pick the best plants for you. Prices can be a little more expensive, but the plants here are well loved. Parking is tight and a little odd since you have to drive up a steep ramp. However, it is 100% worth it. In the back of the oasis sits a coffee bar with seating if you want to take in the greenery. The plant store part is also wonderful, with many beautiful and interesting plants for the home or for gifts. Upstairs by Champs, Plantoem starts off as what seems to be a plant shop but turns out to also have a cafe in the back! The cafe is quaint but clean. It is nice to see the plants around while you are sitting in the cafe. There are a few tables to sit at and they are all in the same area. They have an interesting selection of drinks such as hojicha and black sesame lattes. We got the hojicha and black sesame lattes and enjoyed them! The hojicha was subtle and the black sesame was sweet. The service was quick, even though there was only one person working. We hope to next time try the croffles and tea that they offer! read more

Recently rediscovered this amazing cafe. Vibes are great, good amount of seating, and best of all, free wifi. They renovated the interior the last time i came so now there is a zone in the back of the cafe for "no electronic" just sip and chill. It's pretty hidden, going up the ramp and limited parking. I do wish they offered more food/lunch options like sandwiches or savory items because the options for drink and pastries are pretty limited. The store itself for plants have a wide selection and very knowledgeable staff. Every so often there will be pop ups so keep a look out! read more

We hosted a private event- a baby shower/ at this venue this past weekend and it was perfect! The venue itself was perfectly decorated (with all of the plants, the store is conveniently located, nice and cool once the sun set, and just big enough to accommodate our group. It's an intimate setting but we fit 18-20 people comfortably. The owner, Zoe, was extremely helpful from start to finish and with communication leading up to the event. The venue fee was very reasonable. They also have add ons available for purchase such as plant themed activities they can provide, or beverages from their cafe. Zoe offered a very customizable experience and even brought out additional chairs and tables to make sure we had enough seating and table space for the party. We were able to provide our own food and drinks for the party. And like I said the space required little additional decor as this place is already so appealing with the beautiful plant collection throughout the store but also in the cafe area. There is parking available and street parking and it was conveniently located for everyone. Trash receptacles were available and an on-site bathroom was so appreciated. We could not have asked for a better experience or a better venue. Highly recommend! Hoping to be able to plan another event at this location in the future for sure! This little plant store is still so cute :) We went in the morning so it was kinda busy, but there were a few tables still open so that was good. We got the Honey matcha latte & Hojicha Maple latte. The Honey matcha latte was really good. But you have to stir in the matcha more or you'll get some chunks...but it was cold so I understand that it wouldn't melt lol. I really enjoy working on my school work here! Lovely ambience with all the plants, food and drink selection is tasty from what I have tried. Only downside for working here for a long time is no bathroom. They also have signs asking you purchase something new after 2 hours but I haven't felt that this is heavily enforced. read more

From giant Thai Constellation Monstreas to colocasias and so many native plants as well! The staff here knows their stuff too, and will help you pick plants that will thrive in your space and really do their best to set you up for success in plan parenthood. Pro tip: they have a really cute chair photo op with the most beautiful plants surrounding it - great for new profile pics. Plus, they're dog friendly! Last time I brought my pup in here, he got so much love and really high quality treats from the staff! I love being able to sit in their cafe with my laptop and a pot of tea. They also have pastries and coffee. This is probably one of my fav spots to drop by and do some online work; the ambiance is supreme with smooth jazz and plants everywhere. The have free wifi, 6 tables (and seats at the counter top), and some outlets. It does get very hot in here because there's no AC so be prepared for that if you're going to be studying/working. I got the honey matcha latte ($6.50) and it is on the smaller side but it was very nice - great balance of earthy yet sweet. Lovely cafe in kaimuki with a fresh ambiance and yummy drinks! Perfect location to study, work, or catch up with friends! The cafe was not to busy on a Thursday afternoon so there was ample seating! I loved that this place doubles as a plant shop; the plants create an amazing work environment that is calming and fresh. No AC but strong fans and a window (with bar seating!) keep the place cool. The staff was helpful and friendly too. There is also free (and fast) wifi (can only stay for two hours). and a restroom. My friend and I tried their iced matcha latte and iced hojicha latte! Although small, I liked the hojicha latte as the flavor was strong and it was well mixed with the milk. (I can't find hojicha at too many cafes on island so this was a treat). The matcha latte also had a pretty strong matcha flavor and was not overly sweet, definitely one of the better matcha lattes on the island. I believe they do not charge extra for milk subs too! On this visit, we went looking for the same quiet and healing here as before. However, this day was a weekend, so it was crowded with previous customers who it seems were students. They brought in a computer and spent their time quietly. For such young people, is this a new Internet cafe instead of Starbucks? In any case, this is a very comfortable space for everyone. It may be thanks to the soothing effect of the greenery that we don't feel that hot, even if we don't have an air conditioner. This spot is perfect for chatting while drinking freshly squeezed hibiscus tea, I feel natural leaves in my mouth,too. But to be honest, I don't want this place to be more popular than this, because it's troublesome for customers to compete for seats every time.
