Don Quijote Honolulu is one of my favorite places to shop in Oʻahu! This store has everything fresh poke, sushi, Japanese snacks, Hawaiian souvenirs, cosmetics, groceries, and even household items. I came in looking for a few snacks and ended up spending over an hour exploring every aisle. The food section is amazing. The fresh sushi and bento boxes are affordable and delicious, making this a great stop for a quick meal. Prices are generally lower than many tourist shops, especially for souvenirs and local treats. If you love discovering unique Japanese products, this place is a must-visit. Open 24 hours too, which makes it incredibly convenient. Definitely worth adding to your Honolulu itinerary! Don Don Don Donki, is that how the song goes? hehe.. didn't hear song during this shopping trip but that always get stuck in my head when I am here. Small kid time I remember use to be Holiday Mart, then Daiei and now Don Quijote. I use to love shopping here with my parents for the dipped yogurt ice cream, I think they use to have an ice crem shop at the front of the store. During middle school days we would come here for Sanrio & Leigh's Wishing Well when laminated, personalized cards were popular. Now darn I try to avoid this shop, as much as I LOVE all the products, my wallet doesn't, hehe. I have a habit of buying every single thing. Lets talk about this recent visit, I only need 3 item which is mentaiko to make mentaiko pasta, bread to make garlic bread and natto since I needed a natto fix. I had to get out there quick and try not to stop at every section, hehe. Ended getting extra stuff but all good, I was happy with the extra goodies! Don Quijote does get crazy with parking, lines, feeling of clutter here but despite that I LOVE shopping here & the prices are low, if you can catch it on sale, even better! For someone that hasn't been to Japan, I am grateful that I can stock up on my Japanese products here. Also, I love that they have different fairs/theme every month, they carry products from specific city in Japan and even have samples too.

    You can't miss the signage.

Donki is not a store. It is a side-quest. After dinner one evening, my twinsie, "Auntie" Nadine C., turned to me, whispering almost conspiratory, "Have you heard about Don Quijote?" Don Quixote? The titular protagonist of Miguel de Cervantes' 17th-century Spanish novel, often considered the first modern novel? No, not him. Side-quest unlocked: Go to Don Quijote to looks at Trader Joe's-like bags and peruse affordable macadamia nuts. Imagine if a Japanese convenience store, Costco, Walmart, Japanese pop culture, and a late-night snack gremlin all moved into one building and decided to co-habilitate. That's Don Quijote, or as locals lovingly know it: Donki. Don Quijote is Japanese discount megastore in Honolulu where you walk in for one bottle of water and somehow leave an hour later with Japanese cheesecake, body wash, a rice cooker, novelty socks, a plush penguin, Spam musubi, an ankle brace, and at least one item that made you say, "Well, I've never seen that before." Every aisle is an adventure. It's part grocery store, part pharmacy, part souvenir shop, part beauty supply, part snack paradise, and part "why are they selling this and why do I suddenly need it?" The shelves are packed to the ceiling, the signage is loud, the deals are good, and the whole place feels like a treasure hunt designed by someone who drank three Red Bull Kyoho Grapes and said, "More products! More fun! No empty shelf space!" The Honolulu location is also gloriously open 24 hours, which means it serves a very specific and beautiful type of chaos: jet-lagged tourists like myself, night owls craving Japanese curry, and people making questionable but spiritually necessary 1:11 a.m. purchases. TL;DR, Don Quijote is less of a store and more of an experience. A slightly overwhelming and delightfully unhinged retail adventure.

Your one stop shop for everything Japanese. If you're visiting Waikiki, this is also a great place for souvenirs - especially for those Hawaiian treats and chocolates. Huge grocery store, tons of great produce, huge dry goods area, and endless options for baked goods and food to go. Wanted to highlight how affordable and delicious the hot bowls and bento boxes were. We got a few to go for the beach and it was perfect. Next time, I'll make sure to go here first before shopping for knick knacks elsewhere.

Been going to this Don Quijote for a long time, even before it was a DQ and it was called Daiei/Holiday Mart. My grandparents lived nearby on Kanunu Street, so they took us there regularly for shopping or treats. For me, DQ is the mecca for nearly all things Japanese. Recently went there to pick up some yuzu honey for my sister, facial cleanser, shredded nori, chazuke mix, & furikake mix. Yes, a very ecclectic group but so Japanese! Always enjoy DQ's selection of grab and go items and mix of vendors in their food court outside! Now that I've achieved, ah shall we say senior status, I recently noted that DQ offers daily senior hours between 6-7 am and all day Tuesdays. Dealages! Will repeat and recommend!

The grocery store is large in scale, and carry all kinds of daily essentials, skin care products, meat, vegetables, and other things you can image. I'm amazed with their variety choices of wine and alcohol selections. They made a mistake at checkout, but fixed fairly fast.

I was introduced to Don Quijote during a recent trip to Tokyo and was excited to learn that there is one in Honolulu. This store is open 24/7 and is a single floor one stop shop warehouse sized store. Their offerings include, beauty products, food, pharmaceutical, clothing, souvenirs, alcohol, fresh produce, etc. I recommend allotting an hour to fully explore this store. Sidenote, I've heard locals refer to this store as "Donki." This is a good spot for poke, onigiri, deli, and bakery items. The sushi packs seemed to move quickly and I've observed staff constantly refilling the shelves with fresh packages. There's a deli counter with hot foods. I've stopped by to pick up sushi bowls, onigiri, and drinks before heading to the beach. This store has an extensive selection of souvenirs which were reasonably priced. There are outdoor food stalls located in front of the store. Parking in the front lot can get busy, however there is a dedicated multi floor parking area just across the street.

Came here for the first time in 2024. Would have given it 4 or 5 stars but now dropped it to a 3 star. Reason being I have to agree that I think the prices have gone up due to shrinkflation/ inflation as someone else said. I guess one of the main reasons I really liked this place was that many of their items (I would say 90 percent) were made in Japan (not China as I would originally suspect) and reasonable priced still. I checked many of their items to see where the items were made this time. I would say 50 percent or more of the items are now from China... I don't want to go to a store that is marketed as Japanese and from Japan but is selling items from China - especially food items from China since their quality control and ethics is questionable. To be clear, the main items I looked at this time, were the Sanrio and the food sections. Last time, I looked at wider variety of items. They do still have an excellent selection of freshly prepared bento boxes and side dishes but they also have gone up in price I believe. We did still buy some bento as well as some mochi because we liked them as well as it is still more reasonably priced than going out to eat in Honolulu. I did notice this time, that there also seems to be more of a thieving problem this time. Saw many items opened, eaten and then placed back on shelf empty (not even sure why they even bothered putting it back). Seems like they need to step up security. One last note is that there may be different owners of this store and pearl city's store as they seem to have some differences in pricing. I do like this store better because it is larger, 24 hours, used to carry mostly items from Japan and they weren't selling expired items. The Pearl city location was selling many expired items in 2024 and old/ dingy at that time. However they seemed to have upgraded/ renovated their store currently (see review for Pearl city).

Great deals. I'm just about everything. Did not know what I was getting myself into when I stepped into Don Quijote, someone told me to check it out. They had good Skincare, but when I went there, I found out they had everything Hawaii for souvenirs. They also had tons of grocery items I stocked up on hard to find items from Hawaii and they had a great sushi section. Great deal on chocolate macadamia gift boxes and also Hawaiian coffee. I also picked up some delicious, smelling soaps and body cream. They had a free parking lot right across the street and also a smaller parking lot in the same area where the store is located.

Grab a rideshare and find your way to the closest American Don Quijote store. I wasn't a fan or even knew these stores existed but after visiting Japan , there is some fanfare waiting for everyone. This place is clean and just as big as the Japanese stores. Filled with eveything that mankind can create for all age groups. And if you're hungry there are endless sushi dishes ready to go. Hot foods are also available inside and directly outside the store. Makes one miss Japan itself. This will do for now.

Wow! we stumbled upon this location while at the Convention Center. There's a large parking lot that was really busy. It appeared to be free. We parked at the Mall and walked over. There's a huge sign that says open 24 hours which is pretty cool. If you have ever been to Japan you are probably familiar with this store. It's huge ...like not as big as Walmart but very spacious for a unique specialty store. There's souvenirs, all things Japanese, cosmetic center, fresh fruits and vegetables, sushi , plate lunches ,and so much more. We got some sushi , a roasted sweet potato, American sunscreen , premium ceremonial matcha tea and avocados. It wasn't cheap or anything but random things we thought we needed. I could probably spend hours and hours there but we had other things we needed to get done. I plan to go back one day to check things out.

A no frills grocery store that has a lot to offer - enough to deem it a tourist destination and a personal must go for us every time we visit. It's a fast casual meal, order inside, picnic tables lined up outside and other restaurants to try too (the Thai spot looked good!) The poke is flavorful, fish is soft and tastes fresh and the rice was seasoned well and still soft as well. I liked the mentaiko of the onigiri but the cheese was like a square strip of Brie? Not my personal favorite. Prices are pretty cheaper compared to brick and mortar poke spots. We also took home some chutoro negiri and the mentaiko pasta which were delicious!

If you've ever visited Japan, you know all about Don Quijote. You know about the colorful decor, narrow aisles, multiple floors, the theme music that plays 24/7, and the fact that you can buy just about anything. I was surprised to see a location in Honolulu and wanted to check it out. Like the locations in Japan this store is also open 24/7. It's huge but does not have multiple floors and the aisles are wider. They have the classic penguin mascot out front but they don't play the repetitive music on the speakers. And like all DQs, they have everything: groceries, cosmetics, snacks, alcohol, and much much more. They even have an area for hot foods, poke, sushi, and nigiri. This is a good place to buy snacks and other souvenirs but is just another supermarket to shop in. It took me back to Japan for a little bit!

Prime Rib by the pound in the deli (currently $25.99/lb.) Saturday only, but not all day. It is first come first served. Rib roast is usually brought out around 8:30-9:00am-ish. I've heard sometimes they sell out before lunchtime.

Some are but they generally are not hot anymore and are in the fridge.

What time do they start discounting their cooked food?

Per a worker there usually by 7pm.

    Service dogs only.

She asked if I needed any help. I showed her the candy that I was looking for. She pointed it out to me. I grabbed a bag $4.25. I also saw the Betty's Best cookies. I had to pick up one of those. I got the 8oz. chocolate chip arare $6.75. I love that these cookies are crunchy. They also sell seed, dried seafood and many other snacks.

A night in Kaka'ako is always a fun place to explore, and just be entertained!…read more The Honolulu Night Market at Our Kaka'ako is indeed a fabulous adventure into the biggest street/block party filled to the brim with all things local...food, retail and culture. I've been to so many and each and every one is very unique where you can find either fashion runway stage, live street art, or even a dance night in the barn. I just love the vibe SALT and surrounding Our Kaka'ako brings with the vibrant art we're so blessed to have and this particular night (November 19th) there was actually much more shopping just perfect for the holidays and the party went further down to Ya-ya's. Tonight I was fortunate to have gone after work so I kept it short but found some awesome treats. Some straw toppers to add to my holiday gift giving and some cheesecake cups (OG, Strawberry and Cookie Butter) of course I got one of each to share...ate the Strawberry which of course omg was yummy!! Not too sweet as the Strawberries was just perfect as I tried to get an even scoop of it all in every bite. Walked further down and honestly wasn't in the mood to wait too long for anything found something that would just exactly work for me. Ya-Ya's Chophouse & Seafood and tonight they had two items - Steak Kebabs - Fat Fried Rice with TAB (aka Thick Ass Bacon lol!) I seriously wanted the fried rice but thought that the Steak Kebabs was more sensible for me personally and it came with two kebabs each fully loaded with steak, mushrooms, peppers and onions with a huge scoop of rice! So many options I really was considering including Henna from Henna Happens, Birria Tacos from Dolce Vita, Corn from Corn Onoz Hawaii but though there's always a next time yes!?! I remember pre-pandemic Yelp had a booth here and hoping as things return to normalcy that we'll see it back again one day (hint hint!) Absolutely love this Honolulu Night Market as it offers so many cultural coolness that you can't find anywhere else! Thank you!

There was some live music, but it seemed more like a quick stop for tourists rather than a real night market. I didn't try any food because the atmosphere wasn't appealing, so I left quickly.

The original IMP consisted of thatched-roof huts offering souvenirs, local crafts, and food. A major renovation in 2016 transformed the IMP into a contemporary shopping and dining destination while still respecitng its Hawaiian heritage. The banyan tree in the shopping center is really impressive. A banyan can reach a height up to 100 feet and spreads laterally indefinitely. Aerial roots that develop from its branches descend and take root in the soil to become new trunks. It's really a highlight of this mall to walk around this enormous tree. There are a huge number of well known stores here with something for everyone. We enjoyed the shopping but did not stay to eat here although there are a lot of options.

High end stores, high end restaurants and other great things like art exhibits. Now that I live in California, I do visit Oahu every two years. At the time when we came here in 2019, we went to a photography exhibit by National Geographic. Now this is something I enjoy. I think tourists could enjoy it too and bring in the modernized look for Waikiki. I have been on the fence about the traditional vendors over these overpriced high end stores. I look at it in a business perspective. Hawaii drives its economy through tourism. We are in the United States of America and you got major cities like New York, Miami, Los Angeles and such. It's competing for more tourists to come to Hawaii. I hate to say this but Hawaii versus Miami? You got people with money that spend at high end stores. People now look at Waikiki like you're shopping on Rodeo Drive. Well if this is what attracts tourists - so be it to help the economy. It is a shame that it has to be this way to survive in this economy. The workers in Waikiki have pride in their job and make an honest living in an expensive state. I do miss the old International Marketplace. It was nice seeing vendors sell things.

They also sell many hawaii based souvenirs here. I have bought many items throughout my stay here in hawaii and my favorite purchases were the flower earrings which is form of plumerias for $6.99! Price wise some items I have scored for really cheap - cheaper than swap meet prices. Examples are clothing on the clearance rack. Scored items as low as $4.99! Customer service here is decent. They are helpful with assistance if needed. So the items you will find here "Hawaiian" based - are keychains, deck of cards, boxed christmas cards, boxed cards, hawaiian attire sets for man/woman/child, bathing suits, pareos (swim wraps), hawaiian dresses, hawaiian male shirts, tote bags, lunch boxes, luggage tags and straps, neck pillows, quilt sets / blankets, ornaments, snacks, hawaiian car solar boppers (ex: hawaiian hula girl), puzzles, 3d lego like small toys, stuffies / plushies, jewelry (wood, earrings, bracelets, necklaces) , mugs, luggages were the items I saw while my stay. This is a 2 story store the restrooms are upstairs - which is btw clean. The dressing dept staff stated that the store manager checks on the restrooms every hour for cleanliness. They charge for bags here when you purchase items - be mindful. So make sure you bring your reusable bags or you will be charged for bags. Hawaii now charges bags in most stores when you purchase items.

They are a sort of warehouse type store where things are on shelves stacked all over the store. However, everything is organized and the owner knows exactly what he has and where it's at. So, if there is something you are looking for, just ask! Most of their items are new, although they do have some slightly used items. (But most things are brand new) The prices here are great! My son picked up a wireless keyboard and mouse for $20! Brand new in the box. We found them online for $65 minimum!! They also have a large number of bikes of all kinds and sizes, kids ride on toys, baby items, patio furniture, home decor, and small kitchen appliances. You name it, they probably have it. If not, just ask and the owner will try and get it for you. They get new merchandise in regularly so it's worth stopping in to see what's new. They have a great page on Facebook that shows a lot of what they have as well as new arrivals. I highly recommend you come check them out for yourself or give them a call if there is something specific you are looking for.
