When I'm in a pinch and I just need a little snack or meal to go, I can always depend on Don Don Donki for affordable and delicious rice balls. I also love that the seaweed is on the side so it stays crispy and fresh for when you're ready to enjoy it! Insider tip: When you go late at night, they're usually on sale.

    Wagyu skewer plate lunch

My sister took me to lunch and suggested the Wagyu Skewer lunch spot in Don Don Donki. It sounded pretty good, so off we went. The layout of the store is pretty strange, with the entrance on one side, and the exit at the other end of the store by the food court. It forces you to either park near the entrance or exit (or in the middle), and either way, it's gonna be a long walk. We parked near the entrance and went in and found the food court at the other side of the store. The store is fairly large, and offers a huge selection of Japanese foods, snacks, and other specialty products. It was surprisingly empty for a Friday afternoon, but at least we didn't have to wait very long. They have a large counter for sit down dining, along with tables in the middle of the court. The skewers were a petty good size, but the meat wasn't as tender as I had expected. It was a bit stringy, and chewy, but the taste was good. They also provided a Teriyaki style dipping sauce, which had a good flavor. I like that it included both a green salad, and mac salad, and the bed of rice under the skewers were also topped with furikake. For some reason, although it was a take out order, they forgot to include any utensils for the eating salad and rice. The exit is located right by the dining area, so the walk back to the car is quite a distance. I understand that having only one exit reduces the chances of theft, but it's still pretty inconvenient for their "primary" customers, who are probably an older demographic. Maybe that's why they're not as busy as when they first opened?

We went specifically for veggies but the selection was subpar on 4-29-26. Either old, moldy or not fresh. Did however buy cherries but was pricey at $18 at checkout. Also bought hamburger, pork chops, snacks for the grandkiddies and hubs put a custard pie into the wagon. Added kim chee, pickled cucumber too and a couple more items. The employee at the self check out was helpful. The drink I bought from Cafe Kyra in their food court was excellent. Many food stalls were not operating but the restaurant was open.

This place is great. It's huge and much bigger than the one in town. You can find almost anything you need. They have a huge food court that's on the inside and air conditioned. It's still not done yet. They have two stalls that will be opened soon. They have a huge snack section, beauty, produce, meat, seafood and frozen items. They have a poke department and a big fridge filled with sushi. Yum! I love their chirashi bowls and scallop nigiris. We went around 7pm and their sushi were all discounted. Score! They have a huge parking lot in the front. We didn't have any problems finding parking. I just wish that they were closer to town.

This is such a fun store! We love coming here to get groceries and try new things. The prices are great and they have local produce as well. We even met Mr. Yoshida there one time!

We easily came to the store at least once a day during our stay out in the area. I think I was initially drawn to the store just from the fun name, but realize it is a variation of the Don Quixote stores in the area. Inside is a massive grocery store with an overwhelming amount of Asian foods, snacks, and various household goods. It reminded me of grocery department stores in Korea, such as Lotte Mart. I still have their Don Don Donki theme song stuck in my head as that was played over and over on the stores loudspeaker. They also have a food court here if you wanted to get lunch or dinner or a snack.

Wow! From mascara to oysters to small appliances, you can buy anything at the Don Q. It's my new favorite store on O'ahu. During our trip, my party of 6 visited several times to get fresh oysters, hard-to-find Kanoka candied citrus peel, Japanese snacks, pineapple, papaya and poke. As for the oysters, they were clean, easy to open, and all were fresh tasting. Currently, there is a shortage of pineapple, so I'm blaming the shortage on the average tasting pineapple. In addition to DDD, there are little food shops that surround the supermarket and it's all indoors. If you are a senior and early to rise, DDD offers a senior discount on Tuesdays from 6am - 7am.

"If you're not sure, pop in and check it out". - Art Schopenhauer Popped into Don Don Donki in beautiful Kapolei to check it out and kill time before my physical therapy. Whole lotta stuff going on here. It was my first time here and I wanted to make it count. I didn't get chance to fine tooth comb the entire layout but, what I saw was enough for me to return and dedicate time to it. Toys for days here. Mostly Asian toys. Gundam, Godzilla, Pikachu, etc. Collectibles as well. Extensive food, beverage and everything a Supermarket has and more! The store was organized, clean and colorful. The restroom was super clean and that for me, means a lot. Didn't get a chance to engage with the Staff due to time limit for me. From what I saw, I'll definitely return with my Wife. I saw quite a bit of things she would be interested in. I saw a lot of things I'd like to purchase. When I do, I'll update this review. Aloha!

The best part of visiting family in Ewa instead of staying in town? Proximity to Don Don Donki. This place was insane and I'm not sure how I'll ever go back to a regular Don Quijote. First off: The snack selection is elite. Endless rows of Japanese snacks -- including my personal favorite, specialty Pretz flavors -- including some killer deals for $1-3 items. Freezers and fridges filled with ice cream (single servings and full size), canned coffee, prepared food, and more. Hawaiian goodies with aisles of their own. Everything from basic ingredients to skincare items surprisingly intuitive to find (though you WILL get distracted). Plus, most of it is pretty affordable. The entry to the store is filled with casual food, sit-down restaurant, and soon-to-be dessert options. (Side note: SO excited for a convenient Maruwu Seicha location to open up here!!!) I can't wait to return to try all these fantastic options and never get the Don Don Donki song out of my head.

Five stars is an understatement! I am a total fan of Donki! How much so? I visit at least twice a week..visits range for lunch to picking up stuff for dinner. I think once I even went 3 times in one week... I love that they usually have everything I need and prices are reasonable. But what's also awesome is that they carry cool things from Japan. I usually go during the work lunch time so it's never too busy. I'm not too sure how they are during the weekends but there's still plenty parking on their side and the side by the theater. They have a lot of space to also eat at the different shops. Overall, it's clean, fast service and they have so many options. I love Donki!

Don don donnnn, donkiiiii, donki-joteeeeee LOL! If you know, you know. The last time I visited Oahu, Don Don Donki wasn't open yet, so to hear it was finally open, I had to visit and wander around. After coming back from Japan, I was also on the hunt to see if they had some of my favorites that I was hoping to restock on, and there were a few, both for snacks and cosmetics. SNACKS: 9/10 COSMETICS/KNICK-KNACKS: 8/10 SERVICE: 8/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 SNACKS: 9/10 I grabbed hella snacks! They've got all the Japanese goodies you'd hope for, from mochi, chips, candies, and ready-to-eat meals. Plus some Hawaii local snacks. I also loved how they had a "Filipino corner" lol. COSMETICS and KNICK-KNACKS: 8/10 It's the kind of place where you see something you didn't know you needed until it's in your hand. I was able to restock on my favorite JBeauty brown mascara. I was shocked to see they also had the viral Fino hair mask. There were so many cute kawaii cosmetics, items, knick-knacks, toys, and more. They also sell a lot of household items. SERVICE: 8/10 Staff were friendly and helpful. Checkout was quick. It's a huge store, but thankfully, we did not experience the crowds. AMBIANCE: 10/10* Walking through Don Don Donki is half the fun. Bright lights, colorful displays, random finds everywhere, it feels more like an adventure than grocery shopping. You kind of want to explore every corner, and the vibe is energetic without being overwhelming. Extra Notes: - There's a food court with tons of options, including poke, sushi, skewers, and even Portuguese sausage pizza. -Open late, which makes it perfect for a late-night snack run. -Located inside the plaza, so there is ample parking, but I heard it can be tricky when it's packed.

I got some household supplies from Don Don Donki in Kapolei , their super Don Quijote. I've been here a few times. They are one of the few stores that carry Phiten products. I picked up their tape discs. When I went to the Kaheka Phiten Store - in between Donki and Pearl BBQ - the ladies that helped me gave some sample titanium infused discs and tape. How much of it is the "placebo effect" is hard to say...but positive thinking does allow for quicker healing. It is a huge store, formerly K-Mart. Several food option in their indoor food court; the Kaploei location also has an outdoor dining area. Lots of parking and with both Popeyes and Chik-fil-A opening up...there's a fair amount of traffic.

NEW! MUST VISIT IF YOU LOVE ALL THINGS JAPAN! Spacious store located in the heart of Kapolei. Lots of parking available. The store has 1 entrance on the left and 1 exit on the right so I'd suggest parking in the middle of the lot. Its got all your essentials in every department (snacks, home goods, souvenirs, produce, meats, already packaged bentos, etc) at reasonable prices! Check out options include traditional cashiers and self check out. On your way out you may notice a huge food court -- Id recommend getting a bite or a drink before heading home! Of course all the eateries are Asian-inspired.

Odd, as nothing really needed to be "cooked" very long. I noticed immediately that a majority of the tables were disgusting and there are flies buzzing around. In any case, I still decided to order my food as "dine in." I did some shopping while I was waiting, and of course, while I was standing in line (almost 20 minutes later) my beeper went off. You cannot silence it, so I ended up abandoning my place in one of the three cash register lines. Since there are only 3 lines, they do not move quickly. This is prime time on a Saturday, mind you. I went to turn in the beeper and get my soup. The soup comes in a flaming box with a bowl shaped opening with feet, where the stainless seet bowl sits. Now, I get that the flaming box is meant to keep your soup hot... However, WE ARE IN HAWAII. The ambient temperature isn't going to cool down the soup dramatically. IN FACT, I HAVE BEEN SITTING HERE WAITING FOR THE FLAME TO GO OUT, BECAUSE MY SOUP IS TOO HOT TO EAT. Additionally, because the bowl sits on feet, the beef bones weight keeps spilling the soup off one end. The soup is delicious, but this is the stupidest execution and presentation of something meant to be delicious and simple. Also, if the bowl is too hot to hold and drink from... soup spoons would be awesome. ‍
