Pokémon cards I gave to Aloha Card shop for grading
Nick L.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. We used Aloha card shop to grade four Pokemon cards over a year and a half ago. I went to the store to complain and they just gave me an email address. Emailed and got NO response. Went back to the store to complain and was given the same email....this shop is responsible for losing a gold pickachu from lost origins, and milotic SAR, plus brilliant stars alternate art. They lost or stole my cards and have not even bothered to return my calls or email.

Left with this!

Cool card/comic shop! Neat, nicely lit, nice selection of items. I went with some friends who are pretty immersed in the current card culture. I'm not super "in the know" right now in the scene, but I can say there was a nice selection of sports and non-sports cards. I did leave with a cool Pyslocke comic, though! And customer service was great. I'd recommend paying a visit!

Clean and bright. The shop is jumping with activity as one game ends and the Pokemon TCG gets ready to start on a warm Sunday afternoon. Nice cool area for me to hang out as my grandson plays his game. Lots of familiar faces so my grandson feels right at home. $10 for 3 hours of fun in an air conditioned play space is fine with me. Support local!

This store is good for tournaments and whatnot, but not so great as far as prices when compared to online. If you are doing a tournament, I'm sure it is comfortable, but there is a lack of seating for those who are either waiting or shopping and need a moment to sit. They have a decent selection of cards and a variety of games, but the organisation could be better. The workers are all regular, but not exactly friendly or outgoing. This is also understandable considering the type of business. One thing that was annoying was that they need to restock their shelves and keep them orderly. There was also an unpleasant smell, but that was probably from all the people playing in their tournament. I also noticed the interior is unfinished. All of these are okay though, but do leave an impression. Overall it is okay. Not as comfortable as purchasing online, but if you are looking for a community, this seems good.

Came in looking for a gift... I am clueless but was looking regardless finding this place I'm so thankful as it's located on Ward in one of the older buildings with Supercuts on the ground floor and with a few free parking stalls finding them on the second floor it's super easy and convenient to find. I'm sure they immediately notice I'm one of those that are lost lol but nevertheless was there if I had any questions but didn't bother or hover which I did appreciate as I lurked and searched for the items that I'm not sure what to get at all. Decided to get some accessories like sleeves and other items along with a few Pokemon cards just something simple to add to my gift set, they do have an incredible selection of card and more this is a great shop as they were just nice and friendly when I was ready got me checked out and on my way. Thank you!

Reviewing for the hubs. Always checking out card shops when we visit a new place. This shop was particularly hard to find. There are no signs from the building outside. Entrance is inside a little courtyard, on the second floor. Felt safe. Cameras all over the place. You even have to buzz the doorbell so they can let you in. Great selection of sports cards, especially Pokemon. Lots of singles in boxes, although not sorted, you just have to look. Tons of wax. Pricing is comparable else where. Cool and friendly staff. Always great to support these shops.

The best place for any cards on the island if you can't find them at retail stores. I go here almost every two weeks.

Being it's his first hobby grade RC I wasn't ready to go all in on an expensive one. The man that answered was very helpful and immediately knew what route I was leaning toward. He had a beginner friendly option that just so happened to be on sale and available for a super good price. I couldn't pass it up. The buggy came RTR with 2 batteries and a charger with a decent tool kit. PERFECT! We came in and just the sight and smells of the good old hobby shop brought me right back to the days when I got my first one. My son's face made it all worth it. Such a helpful staff that made sure we knew how everything operated and gave us a few suggestions for future trucks I was already drooling over lol. All in all, this is a great local hobby shop that has options for people of all experience ranges. Thank you Ohana RC for the great experience and we look forward to picking up a few more for our collection soon!

The man that helped him was completely rude and accused him of tampering the batter. We definitely did not. Its so unfortunate that we spent so much money and supported this local business for so long just to be provided the worst customer service ever. My husband left there feeling like crap. What a complete disappointment.

Not much has changed since covid slowed it down. Same location at the Ala Moana Hotel. Admission…read moreis $3. The focus is, and has always been Comic Books, toys and all things related. Similar sizes to what was there in the past, if you are looking for something related this is a nice place to come. It's comparable in size to the antique show they have at the Blaisdell but with more focus on Comics and toys. They usually have this expo at the Ala Moana Hotel twice a year, the other one was held in May this year. Pretty standard set up and fun things to buy. Parking in the area was at a premium as the " Made in Hawaii" show is also today ( 11/13) Come by to support this locally organized expo. Support local- buy local.

In the last few years Honolulu has seen a large increase in collectible and toy shows. This is one…read moreof the first and is still going strong! As of this writing, the show is in its third year and has gotten bigger and better each time. Keep an eye on their website or Yelp events page for the dates and times. The show is held in Ala Moana Hotel's ballrooms on the second floor. Each year it has taken larger floor space and added dealers. Around 40 dealers/table participate bringing all manner of toys and collectables for kids of all ages. Admission is $3 per person, kids are free. Cosplayers also receive free entry! Tickets are sold at the door, cash only. It's laid out like an trade show with dealer booths and tables along the walls and center of the main room. Who participates changes from year to year, but it's typically the same local people; both from stores and hobbyists. The hotel provides water stations around the show, which is appreciated. The selection is not limited to: LEGO, action figures, video games, anime, DVDs, plush toys, Japanese imports, Funko Pop! figures, high-end statues, and comics. Basically, if it was or is popular, you'll find it! Most dealers handle exclusively in cash, but more are taking credit these days. To be safe, bring small bills for good deals. I'm a big fan of the "junk" bins on the floor; there are tons of deals to be had as sometimes people are just looking to get rid of merchandise. Thank you to the organizers for making this a fun must-attend event!
