I got there at 3:55 pm to mail a package. The doors were already locked. A customer inside was waiting to be let out. No one came to open the door for everyone until right at 4:00 pm so that she could say they were already closed so I couldn't mail my package. read more

Yes, depending on the time you go the wait is truly long, but at least for me, it was bearable. I always finish in less than half an hour for domestic shipping, best time is to go early. Any way, you'd think I'd give them less stars, but they are not for the wait, but the service I've received from one of the employees today that actually made me write this review. Today, I finally mailed out my package to my international friend. I assumed that flat-rate would be the best option. However, I was suggested by the clerk to send it priority rather than flat-rate cause of the weight. He actually went and got me a box to use and also suggested if I lessen the weight, it would be less. He told me I can re-package and when I'm done he'll help me next. Let's just say he took the time to check the best option for me, rather than just ring it up as flat-rate. This was an older guy, I believe he's been working here a while. Unfortunately, every time I came he wasn't there or I had the other clerk. And I've mailed out a couple packages like the one today, and let's say I could have saved a lot of money -_- I know it's also my fault for not checking the prices better, but still, for him to help me out like that, I really appreciate it. read more

I've come here numerous times and have never been treated rudely by anyone behind the counter. However even during peak times, there are only ever two workers MAXIMUM behind the counter. I don't recall ever seeing three. There have been times when there was just one person. The older guy that people seem to have a problem with, is just not your "warm and fuzzy" kind of guy. He's very succinct, which I can see as coming off kind of rude. Bear in mind, with people who have thankless jobs such as Postal Employees, you often get what you give. Meaning: nobody likes waiting in line, but if you develop an attitude, you're probably going to get one back! They have helped me save money by shipping in Priority Mail boxes and have given me helpful suggestions. I only with that like the Post Offices on the Mainland, they have free tape for people shipping via Priority Mail. read more

I was waiting in line for a while, nd when I got to a clerk she did my mail transaction wrong and then didnt know how to correct herself. While trying to assist me she was not acknowledging me instead talking to another customer who walked in. I really had to go back to work as my lunch is only 30min long. This was one of the faster post offices that I've visited. There were three to four workers which helped the line flow. The gentlemen that helped w was a little sarcastic. He asked me if there was any liquids or potentially dangerous items or perishables in my box. I told him I have jelly. He asked me the same question again....I said I have jelly.....he asked me the question the third time I said well I guess so cause I have jelly. Then he said that's not a liquid! Well it's perishable! You should've said something the first time I asked you! Other than his sarcasm service is quick and that always makes things better! Never ever ever coming back to this location. Even if I have to request off of work just to drive back to Aiea and go to the post office I will. First off, the parking. There is none. You have to get lucky and find a street parking or park far and walk all the way back to the post office. Second as soon as you walk in. There's only one person working the front and she is not very welcoming. The office offers all the basic necessities but the setting makes you afraid to even ask as question or for help. If you get to make it to the cashier within half an hour your lucky. During peak times the lines always out the door and maybe one oukot of five times the second cashier will come out. This time that i went, the line was to the door and the second one while chewing on a snack walked right past the window and hid in the back. The cashier was in no rush and knew she had a line. Mind you some of these people had restless kids or came on their lunch break. I won't be back. That's for sure. read more

I just want to respond to all of you saying no parking.. What are you talking about they have an entire underground parking and its FREE!!! Just park take the second set of elevators up and you are there.. Now as for the long lines YEP ALWAYS.... Stupidest location for a post office. BUT HERES A SECRET if you are mailing things out.. ARAMAC in Kapolei located by Hickam Federal Credit Union (safeway mall) is an authorized Post Office 15 min parking right in front and in and out action. read more

Have you seen Zootopia? Have you seen the part where Judy and Nick go to the DMV and all the sloths are working? Well I'm 99% sure their inspiration came from this Post Office. (if you haven't seen the movie, look it up on Youtube and have a good laugh) It really is the worst Post Office on island and unfortunately it's the one closest to me. Luckily I don't mail stuff out too often so I just suck it up and keep my exceptions low. The last time I went there was only 2 people in front of me (TWO!) but it still took over 20 minutes for it to be my turn and when I left there was around 7 people in line. For all the Pokénerds out there, I'm convinced someone dropped a Lure at the Pokéstop (the only good thing about this Post Office) while they were in line knowing they'd be there for at least 30 minutes. They are never particularly rude or anything but it just seems like there is a lack of urgency here. Like other Yelpers have mentioned, there is a particular worker here (aka Flash) that likes to take his time, it's snail mail for a reason right? The location is not the easiest to get to, unless you play Pokémon then you already know ;), but it's on the backside of the main street in Kapolei by the Library. Parking is either on the street (usually full or red curbs) or in the parking garage underneath. Long story short. If you live in the area and absolutely have to come here because of the convenient location, be prepared to wait. DO NOT expect it to be a quick trip, you may as well drive to Waipahu (much better post office), no matter the time of day it's always going to take a long time. read more

The Employees working the front counter are great and affable. Not sure about the supervisor or mgr overseeing this branch. During this "stay at work order", it is difficult to pickup oversized parcels due to the fact there is no parking, underground building parking lot is closed, because the building is closed. Senior's over 60 have to be dropped off, or park approx. a block and a half away and cross two streets at the public park nearby, unacceptable. USPS Post Master need to address this. Either for this limited time during this pandemic, deliver parcels to the homes for the elderly and place it on their front door area somewhere, maintaining social distancing, or come up with a solution to have a drive by pickup or other remedies. Can we address this with our local representative? Talking directly to the USPS personnel, their response is, we don't deliver there??? Really really slow service. Always one person at counter, at the counter I usually get this older man or a local lady. Takes them forever. My average wait time 30+min even more just to mail a letter or package I'm usually here 2 or 3x a month. Small post office, if you don't know the area then good luck in finding this small post office. Directions: Go on Haumea Street the road where the bus transit is and it's across the library parking. Just look for a mailbox on the sidewalk & around the corner is the entrance. Their parking garage is under the building of offices itself. No street parking in front it, it's illegal, you would have to park across the street near the library. This post office needs to be RELOCATED! Please Move! Please reopen Barbers Point! At least put a Kiosk for simple mailing out & buying stamps like the main office in Honolulu. This city of Kapolei is growing really fast it can't handle the new residents of people nor the new business in the area. Once I had my mail on hold-stop because I took a vacation, I lost my mail lockbox key at my resident here in Kapolei. They told me I had to go to Waipahu location to resume my mail & pick up my mail and request to redo lock new keys for my lockbox because everything goes on there at Waipahu location its the distribution/main area for us here. This Post Office appears to have been an afterthought of the system. Kapolei is referred to as the 2nd City to Honolulu. Yet the Post Office in Kapolei has 2 only Clerks (when the other is not on break). It normally takes from 15 minutes - 2 hours to get to the clerk depending on the day of the week, time of the day and if it is Christmas. The Postmaster who is located at a Post Office in another city does not seem to care about the service at Kapolei. If he did he would at the minimum invest more resources at the facility. read more
