I've had a terrible experience with the post office recently. I submitted all the required forwarding information and supporting documents when I closed my PO Box back in August. They assured me that my forms were processed and accepted. However, it's been two months, and I haven't seen any forwarded mail at my new address. So, I went to the post office to check the status of my forwarded mail. The supervisor informed me that the forwarding process had been denied because there was an error validating my identification. Mind you, I had to submit another forwarding request in September at my new address just for peace of mind. I've been waiting for any mail with a yellow barcode, and seeing nothing prompted me to check with my previous post office, where I was instructed to submit another forwarding request. This has been a horrible experience, and I hope no one else has to go through the same mess. read more

Came in today to send off a box to my friend on the mainland. My experience was great. There were only 2 people ahead of me in line and the line moved rather quickly. That was great! When I got to the counter, the gentleman greeted me and was very friendly. He got me in and out quickly as well. They also offer a kiosk inside where you can mail your boxes out when the line is long which is a great option. I would recommend Kaneohe Post Office for all of your mailing needs! read more

The Covid rules are much stricter here in Hawaii than they are in Texas. In spite of the tighter regulations, the process for purchasing stamps was very smooth and incident free. There was an employee working the lobby to make sure everyone was six feet apart. He also made sure no one stood in line when all they had was a simple question or an issue that was an easy fix. Even though there was a rather long line, the wait time was short. Great job! I'll definitely use this location again. read more

Talk about holiday cheer!! For some reason someone who sent my husband a package decided not to put enough postage on the package. I did not know this but what happens when this happens is that the post office will hold it and request the rest of the postage from the receiver. So I had to stand in what seemed like the longest line ever! however there was a gentleman whose name I did not catch was walking around and being very helpful sweet and full of holiday cheer to everyone. It made my time standing in line very pleasant. The kindness did not stop there even when I got up to the front of the line to check out with one of the postal people behind the glass she was so friendly kind and helpful this is probably the best experience I've ever had at the post office. I know it's very busy and can be a very hard job but these people seem to love their jobs, and are grateful to have them. I will definitely go out of my way to go out to this post office from now on for the rest of my time here in Kaneohe. read more

Okay, let me start by saying that I'm not usually the type of person to either read or write reviews about places like the Post Office. It's just sort of those places you deal with whether it's good or bad, I don't ever go with an expectation of top tier customer service. However, over the years the Kaneohe post office has proved to me that they can and do offer exceptional service! Within the last 3 years, I had a few issues with packages 1) a moving box that was lost in transit for over a month 2) a package that was marked as delivered but not received 3) another package that was marked as delivered but also MIA Kalei was helpful in all 3 situations. He was very communicative over email, and really made me feel like he cared about locating my box/packages. Even before the packages were located, I felt a sense of relief knowing that Kalei was working to find it. The most recent MIA package turned out to be a scam (the person we bought the item from changed the address on the shipping label) but Kalei and his team were still able to locate the trash-filled package even though it went to a different address. Sucks that we got scammed, but nonetheless we are thankful for the team at the Kaneohe Post Office for helping us confirm our suspicions. We hope we never have to contact the post office again for this type of issue, but I am at ease knowing that Kalei and everyone at the Kaneohe Post Office treats each package like it were their own. read more

Because I'm "old school", I still enjoy receiving "snail mail" and sending cards and packages through the United States Postal Service. It's fun to get something other than bills and "junk mail" so I do use the US mail system at times to communicate with family and friends. The Kaneohe location is very basic. The parking lot has some potholes because of the rainy season, but the building itself is solid. Inside, there is an Automated Machine that can weigh and print out the appropriate postage for your package or large envelope! It's great for us shift workers who have difficulty maneuvering "normal" business hours! When I do need face to face interaction (buying those cute Snoopy and Rudolph stamps or Chinese New Year stamps, or submitting a Hold Mail Form), the employees are so helpful and friendly! This is a small town and they recognize all of the "aunties" & "uncles" and respect our kupuna... This is commendable! Thanks to our postal workers! They are reliable, patient, and trustworthy! Kaneohe Post Office no ka oi! The staff is always courteous, helpful, empathetic and professional. I mean all the time, Christmas, any time I've been there. I didn't realize how precious this is until I had to deal with Houston's Post Oak branch when we had to live there for a year. Sulky lazy and aggressively arrogant staff. Sorry I had to come and bother them with wanting to mail something! In town at Aina Haina and Kahala Mall they weren't as bad as Post Oak, but staff Aina Haina was bored and sitting on a stool behind the counter. They were awesome and although the lines were long especially w/the holidays coming around the corner their customer service was great! The company I work with sent a package with an incorrect written address on it to Kaneohe (that part of which was right) so I called this office to see if it was still there so the mistake could be corrected and redelivered before it was shipped back. Greg quickly helped me not only find the package and correct the mistake, but also found time to crack jokes with me that I needed that day. And at the end, he hoped my company continued to grow. Several other Kaneohe office reviews were also switched over and remain there. Anyway, I 'll repost mine here.**** Yes the Kaneohe Post Office 96744 is as good as it gets. The reason is the because staff are kind, efficient, compassionate and friendly. Service: I have seen this again and again over the years. They know the regulations, they know the options and they kindly ask you all of the required questions. Christmas Rush: Every year it is the same. I end up in a long line to send off a bunch of flat rate boxes to family on the mainland while hoping they will arrive before Christmas. Many customers are stressed, rushed and confused. Some are so overwhelmed I feel sorry for them. I'm sure you have seen this too. The Kaneohe Postal Workers really display the Christmas Spirit in dealing with these lost souls. I don't know the problem with the new mail carriers in Kaneohe, but every since my regular mail carrier retired, these new mail carriers don't pick up mail from my mail box with the RED flag up. Please pick it up. I really miss my old mail carrier, he really knew how to do his job. Red Flag means there is mail to be picked up and don't just be in a rush to drop mail. read more

I was shipped a package by a vendor by PRIORITY MAIL on 31 MARCH 2021 which essentially should be delivered in 1 to 3 business days. It is now 15 APRIL 2021 and according to USPS it has not been shipped from TENNESSEE yet!!! So I called KANEOHE USPS for something anything! Didn't get anymore information from a person named KALEI. All he gave me is a phone number 423-3471 and said that it was the "consumer affairs" office and they are the only ones that can help me!! So this KALEI person tried to hang up on me, problem solved. I asked him what does PRIORITY MAIL mean. This is what he said "I don't know what you're asking, isn't it obvious?" So much for GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE....making the customer the stupid person! It is also very strange that since our usual delivery person retired We've been getting less and less mail(?). By the way no one answered that number KALEI gave me. I was told by the supervisor on duty that my parcel may take a few weeks to reach it's destination because it was sent via ground so it may get there by boat. Geez, I didn't realize that the USPS still uses the ship to send parcels to the west coast. Also, did you know that if you decide to drop a already postaged parcel in the drop box that you're taking a chance? By chance I mean if it doesn't get to the destination you want it to go, it'll be your word against the post office as to whether you did drop the parcel in the mail drop box as you said you did or not. With technology and improvements on how you get your postage, cause you can also do it yourself at home as long as you have a computer and the proper equipment, you don't have to wait in line to take it to the clerk at the counter. You can just use your mail box, your mail carrier at home, or the drop boxes at the post office. How wonderful, you don't have to stand sometimes in a long line to mail your already postaged mail or parcel. Oh wait, I forgot you're taking a chance though cause it's going to be your word against the post office as to whether you did drop your mail or parcel in the drop box. So to be safe, it's best that you go stand in line to get a receipt to show that the post office received your mail/parcel. I'm confused. I thought with all the changes with postage it's suppose help cut back waiting in line? Maybe it's better that I use the other guys next time when I need to send a parcel. AND, I'll keep my fingers cross on my regular mail that I drop off at the post office drop box that I never ever got in line to get a receipt.as evidence that I dropped it in the mail drop.
