This is the best post office ever, Hawaii Kai branch is my favorite location!! I frequent this location often, due to work, when having to do certified mail. Also when I have my personal items I have to send out I would stop by after work. If I have to send anything I actually wait until the week day so I can stop here after work, I rather go to this location. The reason why this is the best and my favorite location, during all my visits to the post office, I don't have to wait more than 5 mins in line ( except during Holidays) The workers are so knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and quick when they handle your transaction. If you come unprepared like I do, there is a section on your left when you enter. This is where you will find the flat rate boxes of all sizes and flat rate envelopes. I usually grab the box size I need and pack my items. Note. if you forget shipping supplies, few items are available for purchase. Greeting cards are also available for purchase, so convenient! Today I forgot my shipping envelope and wasn't planning to use the flat rate box since it was light so I purchased one to ship my items, this saved me an extra trip back to the post office. The medium size envelope cost me 1.59. I love the flat rate boxes and always make use of the box, when I send them to my daughter, uncle, sister, family, and friends. The flat rate boxes comes in different shape and size, all for one price no matter what the weight is, and as long as they all fit in the box. A few times, my boxes didn't pass, because I tend to over-fill the flat rate boxes and I have to take some items out or have to change the box to make them all fit nicely. Its so hard when, when you want to send your love ones tons of stuff from Hawaii. During the holiday season, the most busiest time of the year. When I have to ship my flat rate boxes, this is the only time that I wait longer than 5 mins, but the lines really move quick. Today's visit, I am all caught up, even got my Chinese New Year Stamps. I am looking forward to more future visits to the US Post Office! To the staff and US Post Office, I Thank you for your hard work!!

Witness a Mail man throw a package over hand over neighbors gate. Asked if he was comfortable throwing packages over a gate. He said "yes that's the way we do it". If I get picture of him, I will add it

Very unhelpful manager at this post office. Certified mail was opened, contents extracted, recipient refused delivery. Not their fault (paraphrasing). Disclaiming all responsibility: our services were rendered. Poor attitude. "Call this number, I don't know anything."

This is my favorite PO. The workers inside are friendly and kind. Also, our letter carrier Calvin is awesome ~ Super nice & friendly AND he gets done w his route very fast !

Soooo, here's a semi-secret of mine. I have a 2nd part-time job selling stuff on Amazon! With this being said, I must rely on the Post Office to get my packages where they need to go! The Hawaii Kai Post Office is actually one post office I don't mind going to. Very convenient to get to from my house and ample parking available! The workers here are actually friendly and smile! BIG PLUS. I say this because I have a totally different experience when I mail stuff at another post office in town. Some of these federal workers really look miserable. Okay, maybe its not the most glamorous job in the world but get a grip! At least they have a job! Yes, avoiding a line at a post office is almost inevitable, but I can confidently guarantee it wont be as painful here. If you are a resident of the Hawaii Kai area, I'd recommend this location to you.

Me waiting in a lengthy line Hawaii Kai post office.

Came here to drop off a pre-labeled package return. Quick service and no wait! That's a win!

My old local post office. There is ample parking in the front and rarely a line. The drive through drop off is also very convenient.

The reviews warned everyone that it's a cozy place... yes, they're correct! As soon as I was organized enough, I drove over and parked in the paid parking lot behind the building since the metered street parking was full. The reviews warned everyone that it's a cozy place... yes, they're correct! There were two female clerks. Each of them was helping a customer... not bad! There are long lines at other post offices! Soon, it was my turn! The helpful, polite clerk was very efficient and explained everything as she went through my pile. Thank you very much for telling me that my friends should receive the mail by December 24th! Whew! Just made it!

Almost all if they had the self serve kiosk I'd be a regular at this Kaimuki location where it's almost hidden amongst the many biz it's surrounded by which is very easy to miss but with the OG blue mailbox that's placed right outside it does give the nostalgia of the days we mailed our seasonal items. With that I did need to send a box to a friend and needed a box which of course they have besides the generic I love the priority mail box packaging with the flat rate makes it easy to put whatever you need which was there for me along with the prices of what each box are. Right beside that they do have a area where you're able to pack/write or do whatever you need all nice and clean where I noticed a buck of flowers and noticed that they were pens...lol! regular ballpoint and sharpies as well that was a lovely touch to have but there was one thing that I did forget...tape...sigh! There was no line at all and I could've shipped my items but one little major bump in plans that made me frustrated but know that I have a convenient spot outside of the busy locations is here and love that it's a local residential spot. Thank you!
