3. Almond Fried Chicken with Phad Thai Lunch

Went for lunch. A lot of indoor seating very friendly staff, very clean inside, lot of free street parking nearby. Food was very good and tasty, would come back again. Owner was very friendly and said that they've been open for 40 years.

We arrived Sunday around 7 and parked right out front on the street. The restaurant was Empty. A nice lady greeted us and took our orders. The decor is simple, clean, and welcoming. We came here for the salt and pepper crispy tofu. It's one of my favorite dishes of all time! GET IT! We asked for chicken recommendation and ordered the general tso and a half order of string beans. The tofu was to die for - so crispy and flavorful. The string beans were super yummy with garlic and scallion. The chicken had huge pieces and lots of crispy goodness in a garlicky sweet and spicy sauce. The fortune cookies with the check were also quite tasty. The only downside here is the steep prices. Everything we had was top quality. I'd pay a lot for the tofu and find it worth it :)

Best Chinese in Seattle! Everything is done so well, not super greasy like your typical Chinese meal. Favorite dish is the salt & pepper chicken (not on the menu, secret order!) Their spicy wontons and potstickers are great appetizers. Then we got the lo mein, fried rice, and salt and pepp chicken. Also the sweetest people own this place and have forever! They deserve to be known!

We had a group of 12 come in after the WIAA High School State Championship game on Saturday 12/2. Amy and Mr Lee treated us like family and filled our belly's full of amazing food! What a beautiful family and amazing restaurant! We have been eating at China Village since our boys were little and it was our first time at the new restaurant location. Bravo!!! 5 stars all the way!!

True story...drove an hour and a half for a vasectomy in Sand Point on my Birthday of all days. Found the best yelp rated restaurant in the area. Ordered 4 dishes to go for my post-surgery meals. It was 2 pm so pretty slow in the restaurant, and the owner Uncle Lee greeted me at the door. He laughed at the amount of food I ordered for just me and I explained my situation. He said he gets alot of business from nervous men like me about to have surgery around the block. He welcomed me to sit and drink lots of water while I wait. I asked if the men usually have a drink before the surgery, he said ya I'll make you a strong one and he did. He sat down at the table next to me and we had the best conversation to take my mind off my pending surgery. When he found out it was my birthday also, he offered me another drink on him. I laughed and said I probably shouldn't, so he said I at least need to have a free birthday soup in the to-go bag. The food came and I still had time to kill for surgery. As I went to try the soup out of the to-go bag, he said no that's for your recovery, let me get you a new birthday soup for now. Got me a fresh bowl and it was delicious sweet-sour variation. You can tell the quality ingredients and talent used in the making of this soup. He was concerned that microwaving the food post surgery would diminish some of the dishes so he told me the best way to reheat each dish, and insisted I tried it fresh so I did and it was definitely 5 star Asian food(Chinese/Thai). After talking for 40 minutes and trying samples of his food, he wanted to meet my dogs n my truck I was talking about as he shared about his dogs. He followed me out to my truck around the block with fortune cookies for my dogs and was sooo sweet with them. Had the surgery and just ate the dishes at home and I'm very happy with each meal, the Mongolian beef is tender asf. Perfect spicy too. One of the best Mongolian Beefs I've had to be honest. He gave me extra spicy sauce just in case. Seems like only bad reviews for this place are many years old and from people in a hurry. I urge you to go enjoy not only the great traditional food, but the experience of meeting Uncle Lee and his staff. I will be back someday even though I live an hour and a half away.

It had a healthy amount of meat and balanced sauce and sauerkrout . Fries were crisp and fluffy, well salted and great for some mustard or ketchup dipping. Usually when you ask for anchovies at a restaurant you get one or two weak ones, or they are super boney. Here we got a whole school topping the salad, big and with the best soft bones so you just eat them up. Great salad. Unfortunately, the quality has declined to the point where it no longer feels worth the effort. The food is now significantly overpriced for what you get. Service is generally friendly, but inconsistent. One visit about six months ago stands out: we waited over 10 minutes after being seated with no acknowledgment, and eventually walked out. It wasn't even busy. Most recently, we were seated near the window when someone came in and asked to watch the baseball game. The staff turned the bar TV volume up so loud it was difficult to have a conversation. While we understand it's a sports-friendly environment, that level of noise didn't match the pricing or atmosphere we expected. Sports bars don't usually serve burgers that cost $26. We could have moved, but didn't anticipate such a dramatic change for one patron. We're grateful for the great memories over the years, but it's clear the experience has shifted, and not in a direction that works for us anymore.

The black cod was not the center of the dish literally or figuratively: it should have been labeled a black cod salad because for 35 dollars it was a giant pile of salad with a tiny sliver of cod served on the side. It is offensive to call this a main course with how the dish is plated and portioned. The rest of the menu suffers from similar compromises: the lobster rolls are pretty good but very small for 33 dollars. Some of the other menu items were a lot better in presentation and value. The mushroom risotto and the cheeseburger were some of the better items on the menu. The oysters were also very good. There's some bright spots here but the overall experience is very compromised by some landmines on the menu. I would come here specifically to sample a few oysters and for the cheeseburger but not for any other items if you are expecting an actual meal. You can easily drop 80+ dollars and leave feeling like something was missing.

We came mostly for happy hour but there wasn't much that intrigued us on the menu. We did split half a dozen oysters that were served with the most boring and basic mignonette and no lemon. The texture on the oysters was off enough to the point we hoped we wouldn't get sick later. The side salad on the happy hour menu we did enjoy, along with the burger. I'd come back for the burger and salad and that's it. The server left much to be desired and really impacted our experience. I know it's hard for restaurants to survive in Seattle with how expensive everything is. It's also expensive for people to go out to eat in this city. Definitely would prefer to spend my time and money elsewhere.

I didn't even remember where it was located but was intrigued when I learned it was in a micro-hood named Tanglewood. Salmon was very good, not dry but succulent; as well as the vegetables. The Hanger Steak was amazing. Almost everything was locally sourced and you can taste it. It all just seemed to work together in a uniquely Pacific Northwest kinda way. It's as though you were eating the outdoors. The owner met with us and gave us a history of the place, followed by his chef's cuisine philosophy. Just a really pleasant conversation. My only personal gripe is that some of the elevated presentations of the cuisine itself did not meld well with some of the rustic dishes; I think their presentation should appear slightly more 'nouvelle cuisine française' and less road-side diner in some dishes. Overall however, R Christine reminds me of the wonderful little hidden locovore spots throughout France that oftentime prove to be borderline Michelin star operations. Everything we ordered was pretty bland and under-seasoned, with no real standout flavors. For the price, I expected a lot more. It is somewhat difficult to get a reservation, because the space here is very small and packed with tables. The one downside is that it is a little tight and can be difficult to hear. But I'll take that for the opportunity to eat here. And as long as you go in with the mindset that you might drop some serious coin on the meal, you're gonna have a phenomenal time. Because we were so close to our dining neighbors, I was actually able to ask them what they were eating since it looked so good. And that's how we ended up with some mind blowing fritters. A perfect appetizer to start the night. They have a great selection of wines that are actually reasonably priced to buy by the bottle. I'm pretty sure I saw someone taking one home that they drank a few bottles out of also, which is a first. I was impressed by the creativity of the dishes as well. I'm not one to be impressed by cabbage, or ever order it, but the charred cabbage looked enticing. The cheese on the bottom, seasoning, and dates transformed this ordinary vegetable into a star. And of course you gotta see what they're doing with the seasonal veggies. I can't seem to ever cook squash the right way, but they crafted it into the ideal consistency where it was almost meaty. That New York Strip was out of this world though... the garlic sauce that accompanied it was just enough of a flavor enhancer that it didn't take away from a steak that was cooked to the ideal temp. I'll be back for more!!

She provided great recommendations for drinks and food; and phenomenal service too. We were seated at the bar tables, which was comfortable! There's a cushioned banquette and chairs, and you have a view of the bar. To drink, my parents had their essentials wine flight. It's 3 wines: One sparkling white, one rose, and one lighter red. All of them were delicious! The favorite was the sparkling white. I had a non-alcoholic rose that was perfectly bubbly and fruity without being too sweet. To eat, we started with a half dozen oysters. They were on the briny and salty side, which we like! The mignonette served along was yummy too. We then had the following entrees: Croque Monsieur with a sunny egg, Lobster Benedict (special), and the quiche Lorraine. The Croque sandwich was decadent and the side salad was a great complement to it. I had to remind them about the egg, but it was brought out promptly. The lobster Benedict was rich and luxurious, and the potatoes paired nicely. The quiche Lorraine was custardy (as advertised) and had a nice balance of bacon and other flavors. We ended our meal with dessert and coffee. We enjoyed the pistachio Mille Feuille and the Opera cake. The Mille feuille was recommended by Maddie and I see why! It's creamy, flavorful, crunchy--such a unique dessert! The opera cake is perfect for chocolate lovers. The coffee was delicious and piping hot. You can even get it to go! We got the flights, cheese board, and fries. The cheese board is not worth it- one tiny cheese, 1/4 of an apple, 1 teaspoon of jam, and a few cashews. The fries were large and we liked the seasoning. The wine flights were served in pretty glasses that were all brought out at once. Our server told us nothing about the wine. We didn't even know what the red was- the menu said "Blend" but had 0 info. It was super strange to us to be drinking wines that we had absolutely no info on at all. I didn't even need tasting notes, I just wanted to know what grapes were in the wine, which feels like bare minimum. I would recommend they print these in the future for people to reference if their servers aren't going to learn about the wine. The indoor space is beautiful. They had two rooms on the side that looked more geared to wine and were much cuter, but they didn't seat anyone here. I also let them know it was my birthday and we still kind of got a crappy table and 0 acknowledgement of any celebration. Not a huge deal, I wasn't expecting fireworks, just something to note for anyone celebrating a special occasion.

However, it still tasted like it had a really nice flavor, and had a soft interior. It being actually spicy would've moved this dish up a lot, though each taco was primarily made out of this chicken - and there was so much of it it was practically insane - but I loved this amount shoutout to the onions as well - they were great I asked for the habanero sauce - which i thought was ok - wasn't spicy at all and didn't add much flavor. will go with another sauce next time tried mixing in some taco bell fire sauce which was interesting i love that these came wrapped in aluminium foil to preserve heat. a great touch overall, as far as taste, these were pretty good, but when you consider the amount of meat you're getting, along with overall portion size - it's simply a fantastic meal.
