The best authentic Chinese food we had. Didn't get a photo of the Pot Stickers as we devoured them before a picture could be taken. The green beans were to die for. Perfect crunch and delicious flavor. Sesame chicken had just the right spice (not too spicy). Highly recommend this restaurant! The service was great. The flavors of the food are top notch! I went here once before and had a pretty good meal, but tonight....not so much. We ordered a cup each of hot and sour soup with a bowl of steamed rice to go with it. (That is our standard) The soup was pretty tepid, we asked for it to be warmed up (Hubs stated that they would be dinged by the health department, which I agreed on (me being a retired chef). I had beef mongolian, which was pretty yummy and the beef was very tender. The Hubs had the happy family, which was just okay in my humble opinion. Not much flavor, I had a scallop which was barely warm in the middle but was sandy! Never had that happen before. So that's another ding in my book. The owner was nice, but hovered around our table. We just wanted to eat in peace, without alot of chatter. I was sad as I really want to have this business to succeed Sorry but we won't be coming back. read more

I've passed this joint thousands of times but yesterday was the first time actually checkin em out. Stopped by around 730pm to order take out. It was pretty lively inside despite a dim-lighting type environment hahaaa. The workers were all welcoming and nice fam. Browsing da menu, they seem to specialize in canto/thai food, which is an interesting mix. Anyways, we had hella grilled chicken at home so I just wanted to supplement that w one carb dish + one protein dish. I asked auntie what she rec'd and she told me to try their Mongolian beef + lomein. Now my theory is someone's rating on mongo beef depends on what kinds they grew up on as a kid. Their mongo beef was different than what I was used to, but still good. The lomein was standard from an azn's POV lol. Taste-wise, both were a 3.5-4 out of 5 (add some hot sauce or chili flakes or whatever to them bad boys playa, trust). Portion-wise, 5/5 straight up. Gollly I am a certified big back but even I was happy w how much food I got hahaha. I was a lil skeptical bc the cost for both was $58 or something after tax/tip and w the location and everything I wasn't expecting a lot... but hoooo you'll get your money's worth in terms of quantity. read more

Well that was disappointing. I swung by here for dinner as my sister said it was wonderful. My sister's judgement has always been pretty good. This time not so much. I had the orange chicken. Now at every Chinese food place I've ever been to the orange chicken has always been pretty standard. Sliced chicken, typically bite sized or a bit bigger, in a nice orange glaze sauce. The chicken here sort of looked like they just dropped an entire rotisserie chicken from Costco into a fryer and then ran it by an orange grove hoping that the scent of the oranges would rub off on it. The chicken wasn't of a very high quality either, and after about four bites I said nope and peaced out. The cost was more than I would have expected too, with two dishes running about 70 bucks. read more

Second time I had dinner here the sweet and sour chicken wasn't as wonderful, tough and pounded too thin. The hot and sour soup was lukewarm and negatively impacted the consistency and texture of the soup. The customer service and friendliness are outstanding, however the owner checked up on me too many times it was annoying. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable. This time rating 3 stars. I've eaten from Uncle Lee's many (7?) times now and every time is excellent. The service from the staff in the restaurant is great and takeout orders are ready very quickly. It is my favorite restaurant in this neighborhood. They treat you like family here. The menu is quite expansive. The mongolian beef dish is a must order very time. You cannot go wrong with any dish here. The prices are a little high for a Chinese restaurant but the ingredients and food are high quality so I understand. Somehow I don't have any pictures of the food - probably because I eat it immediately when its served! Next time I will take photos. read more

Here from California and staying with my daughter who lives close by. Decided to try Uncle Lee's Kitchen for a light dinner. Had the Lo Mein with tofu and the sautéed green beans. The green beans were cooked perfectly, not too crisp but not over cooked either. Just right. And very tasty. The Lo Mein with tofu was yummy also. We arrived Sunday around 7 and parked right out front on the street. The restaurant was Empty. A nice lady greeted us and took our orders. The decor is simple, clean, and welcoming. We came here for the salt and pepper crispy tofu. It's one of my favorite dishes of all time! GET IT! We asked for chicken recommendation and ordered the general tso and a half order of string beans. The tofu was to die for - so crispy and flavorful. The string beans were super yummy with garlic and scallion. The chicken had huge pieces and lots of crispy goodness in a garlicky sweet and spicy sauce. The fortune cookies with the check were also quite tasty. The only downside here is the steep prices. Everything we had was top quality. I'd pay a lot for the tofu and find it worth it :) read more

Best Chinese in Seattle! Everything is done so well, not super greasy like your typical Chinese meal. Favorite dish is the salt & pepper chicken (not on the menu, secret order!) Great food! The pad Thai was great. Many of the items on the menu can be ordered as a single entree or shared with a group of people. My favorite items were the cucumber salad and the green beans. True story...drove an hour and a half for a vasectomy in Sand Point on my Birthday of all days. Found the best yelp rated restaurant in the area. Ordered 4 dishes to go for my post-surgery meals. It was 2 pm so pretty slow in the restaurant, and the owner Uncle Lee greeted me at the door. He laughed at the amount of food I ordered for just me and I explained my situation. He said he gets alot of business from nervous men like me about to have surgery around the block. He welcomed me to sit and drink lots of water while I wait. I asked if the men usually have a drink before the surgery, he said ya I'll make you a strong one and he did. He sat down at the table next to me and we had the best conversation to take my mind off my pending surgery. When he found out it was my birthday also, he offered me another drink on him. I laughed and said I probably shouldn't, so he said I at least need to have a free birthday soup in the to-go bag. The food came and I still had time to kill for surgery. As I went to try the soup out of the to-go bag, he said no that's for your recovery, let me get you a new birthday soup for now. Got me a fresh bowl and it was delicious sweet-sour variation. You can tell the quality ingredients and talent used in the making of this soup. He was concerned that microwaving the food post surgery would diminish some of the dishes so he told me the best way to reheat each dish, and insisted I tried it fresh so I did and it was definitely 5 star Asian food(Chinese/Thai). After talking for 40 minutes and trying samples of his food, he wanted to meet my dogs n my truck I was talking about as he shared about his dogs. He followed me out to my truck around the block with fortune cookies for my dogs and was sooo sweet with them. Had the surgery and just ate the dishes at home and I'm very happy with each meal, the Mongolian beef is tender asf. Perfect spicy too. One of the best Mongolian Beefs I've had to be honest. He gave me extra spicy sauce just in case. Seems like only bad reviews for this place are many years old and from people in a hurry. I urge you to go enjoy not only the great traditional food, but the experience of meeting Uncle Lee and his staff. I will be back someday even though I live an hour and a half away. read more

A very friendly place for lunch and dinner. I like that Lee came over and talked to us before and after our meals, adding to the relaxed ambiance of the place. Speaking of meals, the food is delicious, with fresh vegetables in the dishes we ordered for dinner. The Chicken with mixed vegetables had great flavor and crunchy broccoli, carrots, water chestnuts, etc. The pork with black beans is my favorite and recommend this to others. Such a hidden gem!!!!! The bbq pork fried rice is A M A Z I N G!!! The orange chicken is also so well cooked and seasoned, it definitely does not have that rubbery texture some places have for their chicken. Also the spring rolls were good but not the best. But all in all the lady who did my takeout order was really friendly and sweet and my food was ready in 15mins, my husband picked it up and mentioned the place looking slow but really clean.
