Exploring San Antonio, I was at traders village and wanted someone different besides Mexican food. I googled restaurants around and Tripoli's came up. The restaurant is clean. The menu has good selection and the food was flavorful and fresh, and prices were reasonable. The owner helped me and was really welcoming and made recommendations. Servers were un attentive, place was dirty, food prices were not matching the food quality, little kids were running in and out the kitchen.

My family and I decided to go to Tripoli's for the appearance from outside that looked warm and inviting. I am so very glad we did! We were greeted by Jazmin with a big smile that made us feel welcome. The chairs were comfortable, the decoration was tasteful and the care for every detail was evident even at the restrooms. It felt as if were dining at a friend's home. We order the sampler with three dips. The hummus was delicious, smooth, and full of flavor as well as the garlic aioli and the labnah. All very fresh. My husband ordered the lamb burger which he said was excellent and I shared the gyro plate. The gyro meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The servings were generous enough to share and bring leftovers home. The owner was there and we were able to congratulate her for opening such a delightful restaurant. No longer do we need to go across town to eat Mediterranean food. I have the best here at Alamo Ranch!!! It is my new favorite restaurant!! read more

The food was as amazing as it was at their previous location. The atmosphere was definitely updated and very comfortable. The issue is the pace of service, still over an hour for four of us to eat. We have eaten here 4 or 5 times now. Food is great every time. Our kids like it too. The service each time has been very slow. Even when the restaurant is not busy, the service remains slow. Last time we went we sat 15 minutes before someone came to take drink orders. There were only two other tables occupied. We will continue to go back because the food/coffee is that good. Just need to have expectations dialed in before going. I wouldn't go unless you had at least an hour to kill. read more

Restaurant is locally owned restaurant over by Lackland AFB. Not only is it a restaurant but they are joined with a cute cafe right next door. I came for lunch with some colleagues one afternoon. Service was a slow around 1pm. I went for the tried and true falafel pita wrap. Falafel is a great protein option for vegans and vegetarians, it's basically mashed chickpeas fried into patties. The falafel comes with about 3 of these patties. It's also filled with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, and tzatziki sauce. The pita bread was soft. I ordered a side of fries which cost extra as you have to add it on. Overall it was a pretty typical falafel pita sandwich/wrap. I like that the menu offers rice bowls, calzones, pitas, and plates that allow you to choose plenty different protein options. All of those options offer a vegetarian protein option. Being that they have a cafe next door you can order drinks from the cafe and they'll bring them over to your table. One person ordered an expresso type drink and didn't get it until after he finished his meal. So it appears to be a slow process. I thought the restaurant aesthetics were nice and food options were good, but with the slow service and higher cost ($7.50 pita, $2.25 fries, & $2.25 drink) I'm wishing I could give 3.5 stars but it'll have to be 3. read more

Nice looking place inside service was prompt when we walked in. Ordered the babaghanoush as an appetizer. Expected it to be warm but it was cold which really was not bad but it was tasty and had a nice smoky flavor to it. I asked the server what type of teas do you have and she recommended I have the rose flavored tea. It tasted like tea that had been sprayed with rose scented perfume. I asked her if I could switch it instead to Turkish mint tea. My wife ordered the Tunisian chicken dinner and I ordered the Shawarma chicken dinner. While the Greek salads and dressing were really good both our chicken dinners were very over spiced. I think she got the orders confused because she instead gave me the Tunisian chicken which had excessive amounts of allspice, and the Shawarma had a heavy amount of paprika. The rice was a bit dry. I glanced over at the kitchen where I could see where I was sitting from, and noticed the cook, adding large amounts of spices by the handful to another order. When we got the bill, I noticed the server had not taken off the rose flavored tea, and also was charged for the Turkish mint tea. Not too sure if I'll return. read more

Everyone I eat here, I forgot to take a photo of my food. It's very well seasoned and taste fresh! The falafel is my favorite! The Alamo Ranch location did not disappoint. The falafel was excellent and the service was great. we appreciated the kindness of the staff. My grandson loved his pita pizza and told the waiter it was the best food in the world. They happened to run out of all flat bread so that was disappointing. I had the Tiki bowl as you can see from the pic. Wish there was more meat but other than that no complaints. The design of the restaurant is comfortable and delightful, room for both large and small groups. I have tried several different items on the menu and have not been disappointed. The service is impeccable and friendly. A group of 8 decided on a early dinner tonight and everyone had a great time and enjoyed their meal. All of us will be returning. read more

I placed an online order for curbside. I read a lot positive reviews so of course I had to try. I've been to a lot of different Greek/Mediterranean places and this spot tops them all. My family and I ordered the gyro wrap and fries and could not believe how flavorful the wraps were. The wrap itself was warm and moist like if I had no teeth I still would have been able to eat it., lol.. The fries were hand-made natural cut fries cooked well with light seasoning. The gyro meat OMG... So delicious, it was cooked to perfection along with the grilled vegetables but what I really loved most was the flavor of the meat. It tasted like it was also lightly seasoned but it was really soft and tender which made it even more delightful. We can't wait to go back and try other dishes. This place is a must try. So, so good. Ordered pick up of their family platter hoping to have leftovers. Boy, did we. Lots of food to go around. The fatoush salad was interesting, fresh & absolutely lovely. The basbousa (semolina cakes) are lightly sweet and such a perfect snack or finish to the meal. The basmati rice was well seasoned & even reheated well 2 days later. The lamb kabob was savory perfection, especially with the house made tzaziki. The chicken tikka was a real winner. It's surprisingly spicy. Moreso than other's I've tried but it's absolutely cravably good. All this food was uber fresh, but I didn't wait long for it. It survived the half hour triip home still warm & delicious. We went for lunch today and the service was subpar. Our server forgot to order my dish. She kept asking if wanted anything else (after bringing my lunch dates dish) and I kept saying no thinking my appetizer plate was coming out shortly. Finally, when she asked for the third time, I asked where is my appetizer plate. She made it seem like the kitchen cooks forgot to make it but then said she forgot and apologized and would have the food rushed. I told her I didn't want it rushed because I want it cooked properly. She said don't worry it's still going to cook properly. Well, when my dish came out it was burnt like I thought. It was an appetizer dish that two people were sharing. She didn't bring us plates for the appetizers. This was our second time coming here and I'm very disappointed. We had excellent food and excellent customer service the first time. My lunch date wanted to take home her food that she couldn't finish. We had to ask twice for the containers. We also didn't get a bag for the food containers. At our first visit, we were given a brown paper bag to put our leftover inside and they also gave us new sauces so we didn't have to fuss with pouring the sauces into a container. Our daughter brought us here for lunch. It was a wonderful little treasure amongst a strip of chain stores. Not much from the outside but once you enter the service was great and the atmosphere wonderful. We experienced delicious Nutella Arabian lattes (too die for), a hummus appetizer, a rice bowl, pita, and the best was the lamb burger. Very fairly priced. Libyan lamb burger x2 was delicious, ordered roasted garlic, fries, hummus and half order of grape leaves totaled $26! Plates were wiped clean. Came with 4 year old and 4month old felt very comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Hope to come back soon without the kiddos to indulge in cafe/hookah experience. I get to San Antonio on business every couple years and Tripoli's is on my list of regular restaurants, but they were closed for a bit as they transitioned to the new location. Tonight I finally got to check it out! I love the new space. It's very relaxing, bright and open. Service was attentive without being overbearing. I got the Falafel appetizer and a Fattoush salad. Wow! The burger had amazing flavors! Cooked perfectly, stuffed w feta. Sauce was on point. Pretzel bun soaked on all the juices leaving the burger but was still crispy. Great place to stop for lunch! Quick service and the food is pretty good. I was bummed bc they didn't have curly fries but the pita schwarma wrap was really good. The Greek salad is fresh and a nice portion size for lunch. We had a bigger group so we got to sit in the coffee lounge area which was nice and quieter.
