    SAHTEIN MIXED GRILL
    Jazmyne M.

It's been a while since we've dined in, but we came for Valentine's Day and we're so excited to see the upgraded menu. This place is elegant yet cozy and the staff are always so friendly. We tried the mixed grill and it's more than enough for 2 people. Also, zaatar wings are the purrfect sweet and crispy!! Everything is fresh, packed with flavor and indisputable. Wow. We love this place!!

I don't have much to compare the food at Tripoli's to as I have not had much Middle Eastern food, but I did love the dish that I ordered. I had a Tunisian chicken rice bowl. All of the ingredients were fresh, flavorful, and abundant in my bowl. The aïoli sauce on top truly completed the dish. We had good service but when we visited, there was only one other table so our weight was short. The dining area is clean and beautiful. It's very appealing. I look forward to trying Tripoli's again and branching out and try new dishes.

3.5 Made a reservation ahead of time and met a group of our friends here for dinner. Nice modern clean establishment located in a strip mall, where parking can get quite busy. Menu had some interesting tasty dishes that were very reasonable. Note that it is a dry establishment where no alcohol is served. Service was very slow- It took awhile for our server to greet us (he did apologize) and take our drink and food orders. Food took a bit long to come out of the kitchen, as well as flagging someone down to pay our bill. My mocktail- oum kalthoum- quite floral in flavor with heavy notes of rose. Refreshing, but don't think I would order it again. My dinner- Tunisian chicken rice bowl sans rice, lettuce instead. Chicken was tasty and had a slight kick, but the bowl lacked the grilled veggies that I had hoped for. So, I ordered Arabic salata which was an extra $7.50 for diced cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes. Beef kofta kebab plate- per my hubby- great flavors, beef juicy. Portion size could be a little bigger. Great ambience, tasty food, service slow. Military discount offered.

I really enjoyed this place. Food was great. Our waitress was excellent. They have many options on their menu. They also have baked goods, coffee and tea. We went for lunch, but I want to return for just a hot beverage and a baked good one day. For lunch, I had the chickpea salad with the zaatar manakeesh. This is a cheese flatbread with zaatar spices. The chickpea salad is a good portion for being the half portion. It comes on a bed of arugula with chickpeas, red peppers, and feta. It is topped with a lemon herb vinaigrette. For dessert I had a small pastry with date. I don't remember what it was called, but it is one of their baked items. It reminded me of a fig newton. I did try their rose tea. I love rose flavored drinks. It was good, but a bit sweet for my liking. The restaurant is very pretty and it has a good amount of seating. Parking is available on site we shared with the other businesses.

Decided to stop in just to try out something different. We left satisfied, we asked the server to surprise us and he brought out Libyan couscous. My friend and I enjoyed it, I'd say it wasn't anything wildly flavorful per se but it was good. We ordered two pomegranate limonadas and they were incredibly sweet and I have a very big sweet tooth. Besides that our server was very nice and friendly, although slow at times. The place was decorated very beautifully and had a slight upscale vibe. I will be returning simply to try their Lamburger which sounds absolutely delicious! I will update my review then!

Recent visit to Tripoli's. It took 10 minutes to be visited by waitress when there was only ONE other table occupied; it felt awkward and we almost left. However, we started off with chickpea salad appetizer. It was good but there was way TOO MUCH lettuce cut in big strips. Dressing was very light. Ordered a Tunisian chicken schwarma; it was good but a bit spicy. The Tbahij (Libyan ratatouille) was delicious with eggplant and potatoes and other veggies. Asked the waitress if I could use the points I earned but she said she didn't know how. Interesting that I keep getting text messages about how many points I have earned. Oh well... (BTW, another patron commented on a bowl she ordered that lacked grilled vegetables ... just like one I received at an earlier time and in which I was chastised by the owner for not sending it back.)

Wonderful restaurant. The service was a bit spotty but everyone was kind. The food was delicious, I only wished the falafel wasn't as dry. Presentation was phenomenal, especially the pot of tea!! Vegan-friendly restaurant, at least 4-5 options. Not many people there on a Sunday night so it was quiet with a relaxing ambiance.

Food: 3/5 - wife and I stopped by to check the place out as we were in the mood for something middle eastern or Mediterranean cuisine. We got an order of falafel to share, wife got the chicken shawarma plate and I ordered the gyros. The falafels were tasty though we felt the chickpeas were grainy and dense. But flavor was good. You get 5 to an order. My gryo was tasty though I felt the tzatziki was more a labneh but still filling and good. My wife felt her chicken shawarma was too wet - almost like the chicken was cooked in a gravy instead of on a spit. Odd. She enjoyed the chicken but not something we would order again. Ambience: 3/5. Nice decor though the music needs to be not as loud. Clean and well decorated. Service: 3/5 the young man waiting on us was polite and checked up on us way too often. But - never asked if he could refill my wife's iced tea. Instead kept asking if he could get us anything else though the iced tea glass was clearly visible to anyone. All in all - was a decent experience but not likely to return.

10/10 on authentic Mediterranean food, top notch service and the most relaxing ambiance. I was blown away initially by the decor. The freshly made hummus, rice bowls and lattes were all delicious and well crafted. The owner and our server Mars were extremely professional and helpful by providing insight to the dishes served. If you're looking for authenticity, then you have found it.

Really good food! The service was wonderful and our server was sweet. They were our of cauliflower for my falafel bowl but replaced it with extra falafel which was fantastic! Chill vibes and wonderful food!

Today, I didn't receive the usual service, but it wasn't bad. However, the music was a bit too loud for my liking, and I was hoping for a more relaxing dinner. One thing I can always count on is the food being delicious and fresh. The owner is consistently kind and welcoming, and my food came out promptly. I also enjoyed a glass of Moroccan mint tea, which was a lovely way to end my meal. This time, I tried the lamb kebab and the strawberry limonada, both of which I rate five out of five. As always, I will be returning!

Picked this restaurant based on Yelp reviews and it was a winner. Welcoming and comfortable decor, suitable for casual dining, a date night, or a group dinner. The takeout seemed popular as well. Started with garlic hummus, a nice portion, and the warm fresh pitas were tasty. For the entree went with the chicken swarma plate with Mediterranean salad. The chicken was perfect, nicely seasoned, and not overcooked. Slightly disappointed at the vegetable portion, only had 1 slice of zucchini but the bell peppers were perfectly grilled. Service was good and drink refills were offered in a timely fashion. Looking forward to returning to try other menu items.

Our twelve guests ranged in age from 14-79 years, and everyone had a wonderful experience. We began with waters for the table, soft drinks, and cocktails/mocktails (Man Walks into a Bar, Amba No. 5, Don Alberto, Green Shug Collins). Due to our large party, we had booked a chef's tasting experience, which was spectacular. The appetizers were plentiful, flavorful, and unique. Our server, Anissa, did a wonderful job of explaining each dish-- its components, highlights, even suggesting that after finishing the beef dumplings, we stir the oil and yogurt together for an amazing pita dipping sauce. Our meal included four meats-- actually five, considering an off menu chef's creation for our pescatarian guest. It was such an immersive experience, I never took out my phone to capture photos of the food (or our group, sadly). Three desserts topped off the evening. When (not if) we return, we'll certainly request Anissa again. She made the evening a complete delight, even bringing out celebratory candles for our honored guests.

The hummus with the fresh pita was probably my favorite part of the meal, and the grilled skewers had a really nice char without being dry. The Turkish coffee was also strong and really good. We left quite stuffed and extremely satisfied. It was a nice day so we ate outside but the interior was very pleasant and was filled with diners even at 2 pm. Upon entry, my guest and I were greeted promptly and invited to sit anywhere we liked. My guest and I immediately noticed the traditional Turkish aromatics that filled the establishment. The waitress who tended to our table was engaging and explained the menu in depth as well as vouched for the food's authenticity. As my guest and I wanted to try multiple menu items, we elected to order the dishes that offered an array of food. Appetizer: Cold Platter This dish included hummus, babaganoush, dolma, ezme, and piyaz. The plater was properly "stacked" with the flavors of the app. going from "punchy" to mild. The piyaz was a perfectly balanced white bean salad packed with Mediterranean flavors. This combination of white beans, tomatoes, onions, and parsley was simple and yet deliciously satisfying! The dolma on this dish was a perfect combination of filling vegetables, grape seeds, Rumex, hornbeam, and quince leaves, with a kick of lemon. The babaganoush was light and refreshing. The simple combination of roasted eggplant, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and salt is something that is not to be missed if you are looking for a vitamin packed dip. The Ezme "mashed" was made mainly with tomatoes, cucumber, and olive oil and packed a little punch, which most likely was accredited to the peppers. Main: Hot Mixed Platter This dish included meatballs, chicken, beef, and lamb (doner) atop veggies and rice. All the meats on the plate were seasoned to perfection and tender. My guest and I ate the meats so quickly that I am not able to appropriately describe the flavors other than with the a word, "delectable". Dessert: Dessert Platter This platter had a sampling of Tiramisu, čupavci, KÜnefe, and Baklava. Although the čupavci and KÜnefe looked great, I couldn't eat them as they both are made with coconuts (to which I am allergic). I actually took a bite of the KÜnefe before I realized that it had coconut shavings in it. With this dessert, the cheese is arranged between two layers of Kadayıf (shredded phyllo), cooked until golden, and soaked in a sweet syrup. The čupavci (sponge cake) was soaked in chocolate sauce, then dipped in unsweetened, shredded coconut. Fun fact: Čupavci means "furry" because of the fuzzy surface the coconut provides, which I learned when I visited Turkey many years ago. Java Folks who read my reviews know that I am a java junkie. So, of course, I requested the Turkish coffee. Turkish coffee is prepared with more water than its Italian counterparts and is meant to be sipped rather than drunk quickly like a shot. There is also a tradition of reading the grinds at the bottom of the cup to tell fortunes, known as tasseography. Turkish coffee cups are small, similar to the size of an espresso cup, but with a rich history of their own. This coffee is prepared traditionally and provided a much needed pick me up. This family restaurant has authentic quality food and the highest level of service. If in the area, this locally owned spot is worth a try. Total for the meal before tip $89.00 #supportlocal

I hadn't eaten all day, so I was absolutely ready for calories and nutrients. I ended up getting a falafel plate that let me mix and match a few things -- falafel, babaganoush, tzatziki, grape leaves, and an eggplant salad that sounded interesting. I didn't realize the eggplant salad would be served very cold -- like straight-from-the-fridge cold -- which just wasn't my thing. The falafel itself was okay, but not great. It was kind of chewy and brown all the way through instead of that nice warm, soft, and green-on-the-inside falafel you get at really good spots. The dolmas were fine, the tzatziki was a little too creamy for me, but the babaganoush was definitely the standout -- rich, flavorful, maybe a bit heavy on the oil, but I didn't mind it. When the server checked in and asked if something was wrong with the salad, as I had not made a dent in it, I mentioned it was really cold, and he said, "That's how it's supposed to be." Fair enough -- just not my preference. Overall, it was a decent lunch for around $20 including tip. The location is pretty unassuming, and it did the job for a quick midday bite, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back.
