Such a gem in Southtown with some seriously good sandwiches! I was looking for a quick lunch spot and came across Twelve Stone glad I did. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and for the price especially for a footlong)it's super reasonable compared to other spots. Everything is made to order and the service was quick. Seating inside is limited but they do have a shaded outdoor area with tables which is nice. Hands down one of the best Philly cheesesteaks I've had. I kept it simple with steak, cheese and peppers but it was perfectly seasoned and the bread was soft. Definitely my new go to sandwich spot in Southtown. So good. Walking by, I realized I didn't want to eat turkey leftovers one more time, so I pitched it all in the trash and popped in for a hot, fresh Philly Cheesesteak. Best decision of the day! It was so nice to eat outside, on a sunny winter day, all by myself. I was taking so many pictures one of the workers came out and asked if I wanted her to take a picture of me with the San Antonio sign. I declined, telling her I wasn't a tourist. The shop was clean and organized. I love establishments that show pictures of the food because it allows you to visualize what you're about to indulge in. They do run daily specials and he let me know what that was. They also have a display of home-made fresh baked goods right in front! How could you not get a scrumptious dessert after your meal? Freshly baked cookies & brownies!!! Yum! They have a simple but delicious menu catered to everyone! They also have freshly made shakes, snow cones and the best ice cream, blue bell!! I ordered: - toasted Italian sub: pepperoni, ham, salami, cheese with lettuce, tomatoes and a house made dressing, toasted on a sub bun sprinkled with so goodness on top. Everything was so good!! I was really impressed with the freshness of the sandwich (Philly). I really enjoyed the strawberry lemonade I've got a sweet tooth, but if you don't really like the sugar aspect it's probably not for you. The service from the owner was very good and he was very nice. I loved the salsa verde. The stranger things stickers also brightened up my day. Such a great little place on the south side! Benny and Maria (the owners) take pride in their shop and it is one of our favorite places to grab a quick bite to eat. Maria makes all the soups herself and they are AMAZING! My favorite is the loaded baked potato soup, but the tomato bisque is excellent as well. I always get the grilled cheese and soup and it hits the spot. Maria's brownies are so yummy and I always make sure to buy an extra one for my dad because they are his favorite. My kids also love coming here for both the food and because they love the outdoor seating area. There is a giant connect four game and space for them to play while we enjoy our food. What a little gem in the Southside of SA! This family-owned business is a worthwhile stop if you're in the area and have a craving for a snack. The place is super clean and they have a great patio for hanging out complete with tables and outdoor mini games. The service was fairly quick, especially given they make everything fresh on the spot. They have a yummy variety of savory snacks and sweets. A must try is their hibiscus tea. They put the ice in a cup in the freezer so when you get it, the drink is extra cold and delicious! I went with a group of coworkers and we got a range of items. Their Corn in a cup was yummy and nachos came complete with jalapeños. Can't wait to go back to try more! Such a friendly space! I'm not even done with my food yet, but Twelve Stone is DELICIOUS. Thanks to their consistent Facebook marketing, I finally decided to try Twelve Stone. Their menu rotates daily (follow them on Facebook to keep up) and they don't have a website so I was a little hesitant when ordering. I decided on the lunch special - gumbo with rice and a side of cornbread. The gumbo was flavorful and full of yummy chicken and sausage, and not too spicy. They don't skimp here! The rice had a wonderful texture. The cornbread was a bit dry so I was let down there, but hey! Not everything can be perfect. The gumbo was a hefty portion that I could barely finish. I called ahead for my order and it was ready in the 3 minutes it took me to drive from work. The man at the counter was happy and helpful. I will be coming back! Small little place with lots a great things to eat! Very sweet couple that will answer any of your questions. I had the small mangonada which was perfect and tasty. The ice for the snowballs is a soft shave so all the flavors really spread throughout the whole thing. The chamoy pickles, yummmmm! Drove alllllllll the way from Sea World just for them to tell me "oh its Monday we only have Grilled cheese" I don't even eat cheese, I even told him I drove all the way over here from Seaworld for this and all they said was SORRY!
