Fruit cup sans a few jicama sticks bc we got hungry
    Anastasia H.

So my husband and I normally reserve our treats going up to Brooks to be coffee from a green lady in the sky since we do not have one south where we are, but today I wanted to be adventurous and am super glad we were. We had driven past Quick Snacks and referred to it as the menu building, so finding it was not hard at all. We pulled into the parking lot and followed the menu around to the window where we had to narrow down from everything on the menu to two items. We narrowed it down to the cucumber shaved ice ( different than their snow cones which are made with crunchy ice but should not be missed. the cucumber shaved ice had little bits of cucumbers and had such a fresh flavor), and the three dollar fruit cup with chile and lime ( we opted for ALL the fruits and loved that there were large chunks of fresh coconut included). We will be returning, often this summer.

Best snack spot in town!! It's so good I usually order the whole menu everytime we go! My favorite things are the fruit cups, hot Cheetos and cheese and the ice cream!! Heads up!! It's cash only so make sure to stop on the way. I did see an atm inside the table area, but I haven't used it yet. Pro tip: they have a large fruit bowl for $18 and I take that to all the parties I go to! It's awesome and yummy!

I don't event know where to start! This place fulfilled my snack dreams. Being from South Texas, it is hard to find a good snack place who serves what I want and at a cheap price. I am happy to say I found that place in San Antonio! I got the Doritos preparados and they were everything I ever wanted. If you had never had these, they have Japanese peanuts, lettuce, tomatoes, cilantro with limon with hot sauce. I was so yummy and full of flavor. I got the mangonada and it was perfect for a hot summer day. They had the menu on the outside of the building and have so many options to choose from. I only paid 13 for the Doritos, mangonada and a fruit cup which is pretty good for the amount of food you are getting. I am totally coming back to try more things on their menu!

I'm so glad we stumbled upon this place today! The people were friendly and the snacks were SO GOOD! We had the nachos with jalapeños. Perfect size with tons cheese! We also had the conchitas preparadas with corn, cheese, salsa and crema. Their nieves were smooth and flavorful. I got the cherry with lime. They even put the chamoy and Lucas on the side for us! My husband got the rusa and loved it. Lots of fresh fruit and all the Lucas flavor. Will be going back soon! Big tip--- bring CASH! It is cash only.

This place is super cool with a lot of unique snacks and fried food. I got the MANGONADA and it had a lot of fun sour candy on top. It took a while but when I saw how it came out it was well worth the wait. SO COOL

Place is good I just hate that fact that we're in 2020 and they do cash only. Gets me every time I happen to stop by here. Big Daddy's is the same kind of place and they take debit cards.

Tiny size: corn in a cup.

Don't waste your time. People are extremely rude and take forever. Plenty of snack places in the area with better service. ZERO STARS

The Chango snow cone I got was just what I was craving. I drove all the way from San Marcos to get one.

Nothing quick about this place! Took over 30 minutes for a bowl of fruit, wrapped ice cream, and a drink!

Not to mention it is Fiesta parade night.. i think it was the owner? He was so nice to his employees and their families that sat in front of the store to watch the parade. That was a win-win to me!!

This shop sells fudge, truffles, candied apples, and - what I came for - ice cream! They had a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from, a least a couple dozen. The smiling young woman working behind the ice cream counter offered to give tastes, but I had already figured out which flavors I wanted. I chose two scoops in a cup, one of Cappucino Chip and the other Turtle Cheesecake. They have several tables to sit at, some along a hallway and more in a back room. I took a seat and was in awe of the huge scoops given. The Cappuccino Chip had a mild flavor (I prefer it stronger) but a fair number of tiny chocolate chips. The Turtle Cheesecake had an excellent cheesecake flavor with swirls of caramel, praline pecans, and caramel-filled mini turtles. I'm usually not fond of nuts in my ice cream but I actually enjoyed the pralines. In my humble opinion, there were too few turtles. But I still loved it. If you're in the mood for a cold, creamy treat while visiting the Alamo, you'll find this to be the perfect place to visit.

My vote for best ice cream in San Antonio? Lick Honest Ice Cream!…read more This location is inconspicuously tucked away in the Hemisfair District, in a tiny, cute building on a corner. There is no seating inside but a couple of tables sit outside. I think I counted 16 unique flavors when I visited. The cordial woman doing the scooping kindly offered tastes but my ice cream radar had already zeroed in on my choices. I chose chocolate orange and caramel salt lick. In a cup. I took a seat outside and was in heaven. Both scoops were so creamy and had bold flavor. The caramel salt lick perfectly describes it - salty caramel flavor. Have you ever had those chocolate oranges that seem to appear on store shelves around Christmas time? That's exactly how the chocolate orange ice cream tastes. But better. They have a couple of locations around San Antonio and I urge you to find one; you'll love their ice cream.

Not only that, but the food operators were not small businesses but operated by the organization or company running the festival. Nothing unique about them or their offerings imho. I found this cute little creamery on Yelp while I was stuck in a crowd of people trying to navigate down the plaza. It wasn't awfully busy & I was able to pop in to sample a few flavors & walk out with a 3 scoop cup in under 5 mins. I'm trying to remember what the flavor I chose was specifically, but I want to say it was goat cheese & honey? It was fantastic whatever it was & it hit the spot on a particularly warm evening. The staff were very friendly & working hard on probably one of the busiest nights of the year. The ice cream was great & consistency between homemade ice cream & frozen custard. A little sticky but still with that yummy grainy texture of homemade & you can tell they are using good ingredients too.
