I am excited to report that The Station Cafe is just as amazing as it was 6 months ago! My sister and I visit every time I'm in town and this time we headed straight there as soon as I landed. My mouth was literally watering during the entire drive just thinking about what I was going to order! When we arrived there was a line to the door and it was great to see business going strong. I decided to order something new and I'm so glad I did! There was ample seating available and the food came out quickly, even though the restaurant was buzzing and full of patrons dining in (always a great sign). I ordered the turkey pesto sandwich and the ingredients complimented each other perfectly. The bread was warm and tasted as if it was fresh out of the oven. I wanted to savor it, but honestly, that sandwich didn't stand a chance! It's now my new favorite sandwich on the menu-until next time!
You know it's going to be a great place when it's before noon, and the restaurant is already filled with locals! I got the white bbq sandwich, and it knocked me off my feet. Perfect portions, and the homemade bread brings the sandwich together!!! I also got a slice of coconut cream pie, which was delicious too. So good, my brother bought his own after trying mine. It's a casual well loved place, service was fast, and there was plenty of seating.
Pretty chill vibes & super welcoming staff. The bread on that Chupacabra sandwich was so fresh, it hit the spot..I still felt hungry after just 1 sandwich but that's just me lol I will definitely be back to try their other options.

Best sandwich I've had all year! Soft, fresh bread baked in-house, delicious cuts of meat and cheese, and tasty spread. Prices were respectable, and service was friendly and efficient. I'll be back many times.
Everything is excellent, the sandwiches, soups and deserts are al fresh and delicious. I like that i can order pickup over Local Toast and its ready in 10 minutes, enough time to drive there and have it waiting for me.. The bread is soft and tasty and that separates them from the pretenders.
Well I called and asked if they had pastrami sandwiches. So I drive from the other side of town just to get there and they didn't have real pastrami they had something called turkey pastrami? Ridiculous that a sandwiche shop doesn't know the difference. Especially when I made sure to call ahead. I hate leaving bad reviews but. It seems to be a good sandwich spot, it was full when I showed up. Again Ive been let down by a restaurant and thise so called foodie tik tok reviews. They dont serve real Pastrami what a let down. You know how has real pastrami? Yea the big chain restaurants . I try to support our local spots but when the sandwiche spot doesn't know the difference in studd is very disappointing. Well big chain Firehouse subs restaurant for the win again. Oh justvlike Turkey bacon isn't bacon...Turkey pastrami isn't real pastrami its Just TURKEY!
I had the pleasure of eating here today with one of my elementary school retiree groups. A member of the group suggested it when we made our list of venues for 2024. She told us they had the best sandwiches and guaranteed we would love it. Riding down with one of my friends, I worried about parking. She can't walk far, and I didn't want a long hike after dropping her off out front. I shouldn't have worried. The minute we turned on the street (King William), I saw a space on the street right across from the entrance that I could drive right into and fake parallel parking by simply backing up closer to the next vehicle. When I opened the door for my friend, I saw what looked like a huge room with a large table in the middle for our group. The menu was up on very nicely backlit signs that made reading it super easy. We sat down with the folks who got there before us and waited a few minutes for the rest of our group. Then, some of us went up to order just as a little rush started. I noticed that you could order and pay at the table by scanning the QR code on the little placards. It didn't matter how we ordered, the food came out to us super fast! I think I figured out how they can do it so quickly. They have a fantastic selection of sandwiches. Most of them have either turkey or roast beef. They start with their absolutely wonderful store-baked bread, put a mountain of either turkey or roast beef on it, add some cheese and a few veggies, then slather it with a sauce. It is the different sauces that create the different sandwiches. For example, I had the Thai Fighter. It had a deliciously spicy red curry sauce on it. Let me tell you that they have perfected that sauce. I really liked everything about the sandwich, and can't wait to go back and try some others. I also had the soup of the day, which is creamy poblano on Tuesdays. It was really satisfying. I loved that it was not salted heavily, allowing the full flavor of the peppers to come through. For dessert, I chose a slice of their pumpkin cheesecake. It wasn't on the menu, and my friend that goes there weekly says they frequently have a special cheesecake like that. This was pumpkin flavored on the top and traditional on the bottom. As usual, I only had one delicious bite. It was really hard for me to pass it on for others to try. I really wanted to eat more. After it went around the table, someone set it right back in front of me. I shoved it way across the table and watched as one of my friends took another bite every few minutes. It was so good she couldn't help herself until it was all gone. I need to mention the hibiscus mint tea. I couldn't taste any hibiscuses in it (what are they? flowers?), but the subtle bloom of mint with each sip was dazzling enough for me. I went back for a second glass, which is very unusual for me. I forgot to take pictures while I was there, so I am adding the picture of our group.
The garlic roast beef sandwich was really good. It wasn't dry at all and so garlicky which I loved. I took it togo and it was still so good after I got home. The store had lots of seating and seemed clean. The service was really fast and the workers were nice. I'm just sad they are open limited hours.
17 Apr 2024 I arrived early for my King William volunteer gig, so I thought I'd grab some lunch. I had about an hour before my shift. Arriving at noon I thought I would have to wait. Not so. I was second in line. By 12:30pm however, the line was almost out the door. Anyway, I ordered the chef salad and a small drink. Interesting presentation. The salad is in a plastic container with lid, think the containers HEB packages their single slices of cake in. It, a plastic knife and fork, some napkins and the cup of dressing was placed in a red paper-lined plastic basket. So I dumped the salad onto the paper in the basket, added the dressing and proceeded to eat. I guess that's what you're supposed to do. It was good. I'll probably go back if I'm in the area. Prices are very reasonable. Along with salads, soups, sandwiches and baked good are also available.
I haven't seen the place, but my coworker brought me the pesto sandwich from here and oh my it is very good. If you're a sandwich person you need to try this place. It is also fairly priced!

The Jalapeño Turkey sandwich with extra jalapeno mayo on the side. Possibly the best pepperoni pizza in town. Both are a must. The bread is amazing!! I do miss the old location, though. read more

I haven't seen the place, but my coworker brought me the pesto sandwich from here and oh my it is very good. If you're a sandwich person you need to try this place. It is also fairly priced! read more

The station club sandwich is to die for! The bread is homemade and nice and toasty. It is big enough to fill you for a while for sure. The service is great and ambiance it's up to standard with the norm in SA. read more

Not a bad sandwich joint! If ever in the King William's district of town. This place is a hit, the lunch crowd poured in around 1130, but the dining area wasn't filled to capacity. Plenty of folks took their lunches to go... somebody even left with a box of goodies. It was my first experience here. So I asked a frequent flier for a recommendation... roast garlic. The garlic Roast was slathered the sandwich with just enough super duper garlic cream to give a taste buds a pop. The first sandwich was good enough to make me want another. The second sandwich I decided to try was the Turkey Chupacabra, which came with a "gotta rave about" sweet and sour serrano sauce. This sandwich was awesome. The turkey tasted fresh, and the sauce gave it a baby kick for spice... I chose this one to avoid the Turkey Habanero's 5-pepper rating, at least for now. The sandwiches are burger size. No skimping on meat or toppings. The staff were not overly friendly, but they got the sandwiches out with Jimmy Johns speed, and cleared our tables when we were done. I was not waiting very long for either sandwich. This venue is surrounded by street parking, and has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor/patio seating is covered by trees, so you're not baking in the sun. I'm sure to return to try more sandwiches. The sweet tea is sweet, but the sandwiches are sweeter! read more

Great for a quick lunch. Not only sandwiches but they have pizza too! I went during lunch hour during the week and it was bit busy. I enjoyed sitting close to the window to view outside. A lot of nature sunlight. read more

Stopped in for lunch for a quick bite to eat before heading back to Houston. The decor and vibes were fun--chill artsy sort. I was given awesome suggestions and was very pleased with my meal. I got the Station Muffuletta and the soup of the day, corn chowder. Decent soup and the olive mix on the sandwich was delicious. My only critic was I could have done without the couple slices of salami on the sandwich. It made it a tad bit too salty, but overall it was a great sandwich. read more

This is one of my favorite sandwich places! I always always order the turkey chupacabra sandwich! It comes with turkey, cheddar, lettuce,tomato and a sweet and spicy Serrano sauce that is amaze balls! I'm will admit at first I was a little scared to try it but thank baby Jesus for my husband who makes me venture out because now I can't get enough of this place! The do a side of the sauce too because it's just that GREAT!!!! read more
This place hops during the lunch time. The menu is priced appropriately, service is great and the food is awesome. Loved their butternut squash soup. Yes still yummy on a hot day. Tuna sandwich was flavorful with fresh lettuce. I really enjoyed their hibiscus mint water. Very refreshing. Would be a great place to frequent if we were locals. read more

I've been coming to the station cafe for years now. I stumbled upon it while take a stroll through that beautiful neighborhood it's in. The place is consistently pushing out thee best sandwiches of my life. I take those words seriously. Even better than the ones mom made after riding our bike out all summer day. Or the first bite of your Sandwhich after being in the water all day at the beach. My go to is a Turkey Cupacabra with a side of the Red Curry sauce and the P soup. Bruh.... Unbeatable. I've led many devotees now to this sandwich Mecca, and I plan to continue bringing them business. Don't sleep on this place. Every sandwich is worth it. Pro tip- go: for the Hibiscus Mint Tea, and call me in the morning. read more
