Great little caffeine stop in the morning while we set about our day. Nice strong cappuccino in a perfect size cup. Love when a coffee shop smells so inviting . Service was great and my coffee came out steaming hot. Nice casual local spot with seating inside . Loved all the windows so you can watch people and the world go by. They have a full coffee and tea menu and offer pastries and other breakfast items. Located in a hotel but easy access for anyone not staying here too. Gave me the boost for the day.

Coffee Shop No. 508 Niche Coffee Co. San Antonio, TX June 10, 2025 From across the street, my first glance of Niche Coffee Company gave me the impression there was some rich history inside the building; so I had to look it up while waiting on my cortado. Turns out the cafe sits on the corner of The Riverwalk Plaza Hotel; once the garage to The Plaza Hotel. It was once boasted as the "finest hotel in the South" during the 1920's. The Plaza stood on an island in the San Antonio River up until 1926 when the water was channeled away in flood-control work. The building is not as lavish it was during its heyday golden era, but the bones are still there. Spanish heritage remains in the arches, carved stone and tile floors. I found the location to be captivatingly beautiful. Niche Coffee Co.and their friendly baristas now welcomes coffee lovers on the corner street level of The Riverwalk Plaza. The cafe is modern yet comfortable and cozy. I read a couple chapters of a book and sipped happily on my very well made cortado. It was bold in flavor and served at a perfect temperature so it was smooth and velvety just the way I like it. The shop uses coffee beans from Quantum Coffee Roasters, a local San Antonio roaster. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

This location is in the corner of the building in the Riverwalk Plaza hotel. It is small with only a few tables but is airy and open with lots of natural lighting. It was later in the afternoon so it wasn't busy. I ordered the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie latte, it is with oat milk. I like that the drink was designed around oat milk. It is tasty. I used to go to their food truck but this is the first time in this location. It is definitely a drink worth checking out.

Definitely consider this a hidden gem. I love that they were open early and the barista was very helpful and helping me pick a seasonal beverage for my sister!

This is a cozy coffee shop, staff were friendly. Too bad there was not a big selection in pastries and coffee took alittle long to be served We appreciate that they were open at 7am

Settled for iced latte after matcha was gone. Great milk alternatives, but that's all I could taste, there's better coffee places out there.

As I said, everything was phenomenal. Unfortunately, there is one issue we cannot look past, although we have tried. The bagels are delicious, but they are the absolute wettest, slippery and slidey-est bagels I've ever had in my life. The meal is spent looking down and hoping my beloved or other guests don't see the schmear up to my nose. By the end, we are having to reconstruct our bagel, as it looks like roadkill on the table. It is not a user error, as we eat slowly and carefully. I even have friends who refuse to come back here because it was the messiest eating experience of their lives. It's so unbelievably messy. We have to rinse off in their bathroom before leaving. I have to take my rings off and put my hair up. It's a commitment, one we are not strong enough to make at this point. Delicious, but.... we must bid you farewell, Boss Bagel. Godspeed.

If you are looking for some delicious homemade pastries and bread, you have come to the right spot!…read moreMy husband first mentioned to me that he knew of someone who made some amazing breads so I had to try it for myself! We ordered the everything bagel and jalapeno bagel, a loaf of sourdough bread, pretzel dogs and hand pies and let me tell you IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Our order was delivered to the door by Jeanine herself and she is the sweetest and most approachable person! Once we got our order, my husband and I went to town to try a piece of everything! The everything bagel and jalapeno bagel just as you imagined it- so fragrant as if you were to have picked it up yourself at the bakery but with a twist! It was so so fluffy and with each bite, we got a piece of the jalapeno or everything seasoning on it! Perfect texture, perfect amount of chew! After we snacked on the bagels, we decided to make our way to the loft of sourdough bread. OH MY GOODNESS, the loft of bread is a hefty size for one but when we sliced into it, that CRISP from the first slice sent us to the moon! The sourdough was fluffy on the inside and nice and crispy on the outside. We immediately looked at each other, smiled and took a big bite out of it! Once we were done mooning over the sourdough bread, we made our way to the pretzel dogs. The pretzel dogs were wrapped with a flaky crust and full of flavor as well. We decided that this would be the perfect snack idea or lunch idea for the kiddos or even for my husband himself. Very compact, portable and easy to eat. Who knew that something so simple would taste this delicious when you have it freshly made with homemade dough instead of store bought?! Last but not least, my favorite were the hand pies! For one, I've never had something called a "hand pie" but two, they are adorable! Literally, a hand pie is a pie that fits into your hand but these are just even more special! You can tell that it was homemade as no two pies were identical but they tasted amazing! A flaky crust with a coating of sugar crystals on the outside and bursting with fruit and filling on the inside! The hand pies even have a heart cut out in the front as well. Super adorable and oh so yummy! Will we be ordering again? YOU BET!!! Everything we got was stellar and we can't wait to try more of what Jeanine has to offer! We love supporting small and local businesses! Prices are reasonable as well- remember, when you're supporting small and local businesses, prices are going to be a little bit more expensive compared to the mass produced market items, but you are getting quality items that have been handmade (which takes time) with locally sourced ingredients. All in all, y'all need to order from one punch dough and try her amazing pastries and breads. You won't regret it!

Service was prompt, and the ambiance is a funky cross between a bakery and a diner. Parking is easy in their private lot. I first tried their 'Texas Style' pastrami Reuben sandwich. This is smoked pastrami brisket, served with on their house-made marbled rye and topped with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and garlic aioli. Quite a bit different than a NYC-style sandwich. The aioli instead of dressing, thicker slices, etc etc. But wow, did it taste good. It's as if a pastrami Reuben and a sliced smoked brisket sandwich had a love child who inherited the best from each parent. I also tried their salmon gravlax on an 'everything' bagel. This bagel was baked in-house, topped with the cured salmon, cream cheese, tomato, red onion, capers, and a sprig of dill. Rustic, beautiful, and delicious. Definite recommend! This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. My main reason for trying out wild barley was because they have sour beers, it wasnt the best sour beer i have ever had, but i have noticed in Texas the sour beers have a strange taste to them that i cant quite put my finger on. Overall though it was refreshing and cold. my husband really enjoyed the cider. We will be back and i hope after trying something different on the menu to change my review to 5 stars,

Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing, which is why I'm giving 3 stars. I ordered the veal Schnitzel with mushroom gravy (Jägerschnitzel) and red cabbage. The gravy had a strange gelatin-like consistency and lacked the rich flavor you'd expect from a proper Jäger sauce. The veal was extremely chewy and honestly made me feel ill afterward. The red cabbage was also very undercooked and completely lacked flavor. Overall, I personally did not find the food authentic or representative of true German cooking. What truly saved this experience was the outstanding customer service. Our server, Joseph, was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind throughout the meal. I also greatly appreciated Mr. Adam, the kitchen manager, who personally came out to discuss my concerns. He handled the constructive criticism with professionalism and openness, and I truly respected the fact that he listened carefully and considered my feedback regarding the sauce. Although I wouldn't personally return for the food, Joseph and Mr. Adam turned what could have been a terrible experience into one where I still felt valued as a customer. It was a perfect balance of sweet with still that lovely matcha flavor. I went with a friend who doesn't like matcha and even he was enjoying it. The second time I went is when they were running a matcha promo that they announced on their instagram (definitely follow the there!) and so I went for my midday pickup and there was a small line of about 7 people. It went by pretty fast. We were intrigued by the horchata milk and the employee let us try a bit and we were convinced that was the one. We got the horchata matcha and the banana matcha with banana cream. I definitely loved both of them but if I had to pick a favorite, it would def be that banana matcha. Perfect balance of that real tasting banana flavor (I dislike any of the artificial fruit flavorings) with the well-balanced matcha. The employees were all super friendly as they even encouraged us to ask for modifications after we got our drinks. Overall, i'll definitely be back and I 1000% get the hype now!!
