As I said, everything was phenomenal. Unfortunately, there is one issue we cannot look past, although we have tried. The bagels are delicious, but they are the absolute wettest, slippery and slidey-est bagels I've ever had in my life. The meal is spent looking down and hoping my beloved or other guests don't see the schmear up to my nose. By the end, we are having to reconstruct our bagel, as it looks like roadkill on the table. It is not a user error, as we eat slowly and carefully. I even have friends who refuse to come back here because it was the messiest eating experience of their lives. It's so unbelievably messy. We have to rinse off in their bathroom before leaving. I have to take my rings off and put my hair up. It's a commitment, one we are not strong enough to make at this point. Who knew that something so simple would taste this delicious when you have it freshly made with homemade dough instead of store bought?! Last but not least, my favorite were the hand pies! For one, I've never had something called a "hand pie" but two, they are adorable! Literally, a hand pie is a pie that fits into your hand but these are just even more special! You can tell that it was homemade as no two pies were identical but they tasted amazing! A flaky crust with a coating of sugar crystals on the outside and bursting with fruit and filling on the inside! The hand pies even have a heart cut out in the front as well.
