I placed an order and walked to the coffee shop, only to be informed that they were bought out and didn't even have my order or the right ingredients to make it. Instead of a refund, they offered to make me a regular coffee which I declined. I took a long walk just to go there to pay $12 for coffee that didn't exist and a coffee shop that doesn't exist as of 2 weeks ago! They need to take their ordering down and website if they won't fulfill your order. It's absolutely stealing my money!!!!! This is a small little coffee shop located inside the Riverwalk Plaza Hotel. My friend stopped in here for an ice americano SF vanilla coffee & she said it was really good. I didn't end up getting anything as I found their coffee cup sizes to be small & I wanted something a little bit bigger. They didn't have many items for sale. Like 2 danishes on display, limited drinks in their cooler & the menu is small. If you're not a picky coffee drinker & aren't looking for a big food menu then this is your place! Not horrible, but not third-wave coffee as some searches might suggest. This is an easy walk from the riverwalk and fine if you want a simple coffee drink or enjoy drinks with milk. The americano was a bit watery and the latte was too sweet and milky- we really couldn't finish it. Just not the coffee spot for us! read more

Great little caffeine stop in the morning while we set about our day. Nice strong cappuccino in a perfect size cup. Love when a coffee shop smells so inviting . Service was great and my coffee came out steaming hot. Nice casual local spot with seating inside . Loved all the windows so you can watch people and the world go by. They have a full coffee and tea menu and offer pastries and other breakfast items. Located in a hotel but easy access for anyone not staying here too. Gave me the boost for the day. read more

San Antonio, TX June 10, 2025 From across the street, my first glance of Niche Coffee Company gave me the impression there was some rich history inside the building; so I had to look it up while waiting on my cortado. Turns out the cafe sits on the corner of The Riverwalk Plaza Hotel; once the garage to The Plaza Hotel. It was once boasted as the "finest hotel in the South" during the 1920's. The Plaza stood on an island in the San Antonio River up until 1926 when the water was channeled away in flood-control work. The building is not as lavish it was during its heyday golden era, but the bones are still there. Spanish heritage remains in the arches, carved stone and tile floors. I found the location to be captivatingly beautiful. Niche Coffee Co.and their friendly baristas now welcomes coffee lovers on the corner street level of The Riverwalk Plaza. The cafe is modern yet comfortable and cozy. I read a couple chapters of a book and sipped happily on my very well made cortado. It was bold in flavor and served at a perfect temperature so it was smooth and velvety just the way I like it. The shop uses coffee beans from Quantum Coffee Roasters, a local San Antonio roaster. This location is in the corner of the building in the Riverwalk Plaza hotel. It is small with only a few tables but is airy and open with lots of natural lighting. It was later in the afternoon so it wasn't busy. I ordered the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie latte, it is with oat milk. I like that the drink was designed around oat milk. It is tasty. I used to go to their food truck but this is the first time in this location. It is definitely a drink worth checking out. read more

I just left there and disappointed with their service. Coffee is great. It was a busy Sunday morning. There was a number of folks waiting for their drinks and they were unloading a Costco run it seemed. There were 3-4 staff members. 10 minutes went by and everyone after me was served multiple drinks and even food items. When I went up to ask if they were working on my drink, they said in a snarky attitude it'll be done in a few seconds. When another staff member came up, I asked if there was a reason why everyone was served before me and she was the only one that said she may have misplaced the ticket. The others seemed very annoyed with the fact that I was trying to run to my meeting, and I was concerned about my order being ignored. My entire office goes there daily. I was not expecting an attitude or lack of concern on their part. Businesses get busy but to feel like you're the problem. It's just odd. read more

Very bland matcha latte and americano. Probably the worst I've ever tasted. He said he put syrup in it but I'm pretty sure he forgot or he put in a drip. I asked if the matcha latte can be very green because I like strong matcha lattes and he said the syrup is not green lolol the latte came out so light green it was as if he also forgot to put any matcha in.
