When I tried to show my receipt, I was cut off and told it wasn't needed. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional, especially considering I was returning food due to a legitimate food safety concern. What bothered me most was the complete lack of an apology or acknowledgment of the issue. A simple "I'm sorry" would have gone a long way. Instead, as I was leaving the restaurant, I overheard the employee loudly telling the kitchen that I was "complaining" about my food being raw, despite the fact that I was still within earshot. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. Undercooked food can be an honest error. However, customer service is how a business responds when something goes wrong, and unfortunately this experience was handled very poorly. But someone mentioned Cafecito and it was right next door to our hotel in the Westin hotel. Yep, the person walking into Cafecito for one week straight was me at 6:10am! It's a tiny shop serving Starbucks with the most expensive regular coffee! I think it was $12 for two cups. The idea is that is unlimited refills but of course I only drank one cup. That plus tip works out to close to $14 each morning. But my wife liked it so cost is no object hahahaha!!!!! Later I found out that only the regular was expensive due to the refills. Other drinks were Starbucks prices so lattes for me! Friendly and fast service. Just what you need at 6am/2am(HST)!
