We were given menus to look at while we waited so by the time we got to the counter, we were ready to order. The baked goods aren't on the menu, so when we walked by the counter filled with croissants, kouign amann, bear claws, apple pie, cheese cakes, it was hard to choose what we wanted!! We ordered: the Alamo Burger: a 8 oz wagyu beef smash burger , served with a fried egg, caramelized onions, cheese on a crispy croissant bun. It was incredible and worth the 15-20 minute wait! Almond croissant - a monster sized, flaky croissant with a generous almond filling. Guy Fieri highlighted this croissant on his DD&D show. It's probably a million calories not worth it! Tequila strawberry tres leches croissant - a small, cream filled croissant with strawberries. This was our least favorite. My husband didn't like the filling, I didn't like the sogginess of the croissant. Coffee - really good brewed coffee with free refills. We plan to go back a few more times while we're in town!!

It is small with a few a handful of tables inside. Most people there were grabbing their coffee to go. They have their normal menu with coffee and Matcha, but they also have specials of the month posted. You could upload whatever picture you want on your coffee or choose from one of their designs. The staff were all super nice and they even redid fix my friends coffee in order to get a better result with picture. Prices are reasonable and about the going rate at every coffee shop. I had the coucou latte. I thought my coffee had a perfect coconut taste to it and it was not too sweet. They can make any of their drinks iced or hot. Of course parking is going to be either street or paid.

One thing I wish they had done was give us directions after ordering so we knew to look for a photo to upload while we waited. The matcha drinks were much needed since it was hot outside. Iced Vanilla Brown Sugar Matcha (Large 20 oz $7.25) + Oat Milk ($0.50): Not too sweet and you can actually taste the matcha. My husband preferred this one since it was less creamy and more balanced. Iced Mango Matcha (Large 20 oz $7.25) + Oat Milk ($0.50): Very strong mango flavor and the mango cold foam is quite creamy. A very flavorful drink which I liked but the mango overpowered the matcha a bit.

What?…read more Ok but really, it doesn't matter what time of day it is, if Kiki's is open you owe it to yourself to drop in. The friendly and spunky staff here is ready to serve up good conversation, good coffee, good food, and good alcoholic beverages - and they do a darn good job of it, too. Sit on their patio and enjoy the passersby, or post up inside and ask for a "squatter's cup" (don't ask for this I made it up) to enjoy their drip coffee and free refills while you get some work done. Or just chill and enjoy the music! I haven't eaten anything here yet, but the if the smells are any indication the food is awesome. Oh! And it's dog friendly (and across the street from Maverick Dog Park)! So bring your pup (but keep them on a leash).

How could this place be better? Be reasonable with prices. If you're going to sell coffee for that much, really great service would be nice. If you're going to sell pastries that nice, quality fresh ingredients would be nice. If you have more space in the front for people waiting for coffee to stand, that would be nice. Beautiful music I will say. Just need some tweak.

I sat near the wall with old artwork that has been changed to go along with the CBD type drinks they sell. I laughed at the "We can do it" painting changed to "We can Dab it!" , as well as the traditional "Have a coke" pic changed to "Have a toke." Very clever. The lady at the register wasn't super friendly. I wouldn't say mean just indifferent or possibly sleepy. I ended up with a chagaccino (love the benefits of wild foraged chaga) and some added CBD. The drink was a bit pricey. But to be expected when doing healthier type drinks. They have several enhancers like CBD, delta, kava, Kratom, or mushrooms for an extra charge. I liked the chill vibe and couch area in the back. Parking here is very rough. Infact, this is my third try since there was no parking the first two times I tried, and I didn't feel comfortable parking infornt of houses nearby. Third time's a charm. They were playing some great 90s to early 2000s jams. Some Eminem, Backstreet, and some Britney b@#$%! This is one of those spots I will have to come to early on my days off. Overall, pretty decent atmosphere and drinks with room for some growth.

When you walk in you have the option to do a to go order on the kiosk or stand in line to order in/to go. While in line you are in line where they hold their bakery items, smart business move as it definitely enticed me to order some baked goods! We got 2 kouign amann, one cheesecake and one strawberry. Both were so good and not overly sweet. I'll definitely get it again and try other options they have. The food is really good and tasty! I got the torta Chicken milanesa with fideo soup and hubby got the half/half salad chicken milanesa. Service was great despite it being so busy. The food was absolutely fantastic, but you could tell they were absolutely swamped with the crowd…read moreand weren't handling it the best. I don't think it's the staff's fault, more a shortcoming of the kitchen setup, but it still caused a pretty significant wait. We tried to go on a Saturday morning, not realizing how popular it was, and it was a total no-go. So we ordered ahead for Sunday morning, planning to just pick up and bring food back to the house. The food was ready when we arrived, but the coffee wasn't (I don't think they have a fridge or warmer to keep drinks at the right temperature, so they don't make them until you come in to pick up.) We had to remind them that we'd ordered drinks and we ended up waiting another 20-30 minutes, our food in hand, while we waited on 3 iced coffee orders. I think the issue was a mix of crowds and kitchen layout. They were very clearly trying to make sure that the people who were seated in the restaurant were being served as well, but all of the drink orders were going through this one, tiny coffee station that frankly couldn't keep up. And I think our drink orders were basically added at the end of the drink queue when we arrived to pick up our order. We didn't get any sort of priority because we'd technically ordered ahead. We essentially skipped the line, but not the queue on drinks. All in all, I'd definitely want to visit again. The food and drinks WERE really great. I had the avocado toast with chicken and for a seemingly simple dish it was absolutely phenomenal. The abuelita's was the best of the 3 iced coffee offerings we tried, and I would definitely order again. But we'll definitely have to plan/strategize around crowds and be prepared for a long wait even if we order ahead.

Think - doctor's office, but a smidge more botanical. Also you'd think you were in Austin in 2016 with how many male patrons had fully grown out beards. Anyhoo, I ordered a cortado, latte with brown sugar syrup, and a vegetarian quiche. Scratch Kitchen gets around, don't they? Not that I'm complaining. They make the best quiche in town and this one was no exception. The cortado looked nice and creamy, devoid of yeasty looking foamy bubbles. The 1st sip was very pleasant. Light, toasty flavor and good crema. It didn't feel watery/watered down. The brown sugar latte was a delight. It may have been my imagination but I thought I tasted rum. It was definitely my imagination. But it was the perfect sipping beverage for the kind of day. Cold, but sunny. This was THE drink to warm you right up. The folks running this place are very nice, and there are quite a few of them flitting to and fro, so you won't be waiting too long for your order. While I wouldn't go out of my way to drive from my home to this spot, if I ever find myself in this neck of the woods, I know Vela's a solid pick.
