I only had a couple days there and originally I wanted to try multiple cafe's but once I tried Newstand that was it, this is the only place I came to for the rest of the trip. I don't even know where to start, everything was 10/10. At first I seen the price of the Bacon egg and cheese sandwich and I was a little scared but I was hungry so I got it. Completely worth it! That bread is so fresh the whole sandwich was just perfection. My matcha... again I was planning to try different things this trip but the Miss Honey matcha just did it for me. And I loved the honeycomb in there it was a yummy treat. The staff were nice, friendly and honestly I loved their styles haha. I love the whole concept and vibe of this place, the menus are super cute too and I love all the natural light that comes in from the big windows. They even had a thrift room! Finally made my first visit to The Newstand after wanting to check it out for awhile, and it definitely lived up to the vibe I was hoping for! I stopped by during the early afternoon after lunch, so it wasn't too busy and ordering was quick and easy. The employees at the register were super friendly, answered my questions, and made the experience welcoming for a first-time visitor. Although I had already eaten beforehand and didn't get to try any of the sandwiches or food items yet, the menu looked delicious and gave me plenty of reasons to come back. I did order an iced vanilla latte with almond milk, and it was so good -- smooth, flavorful, and honestly hard to put down. The decor and ambiance were probably one of my favorite parts. The space has a very chill, cozy atmosphere that makes it a great spot to catch up with a friend or just hang out for awhile without feeling rushed. My drink also came out pretty quickly, which I appreciated. One thing I was initially concerned about was parking, but I ended up finding street parking about a block away pretty easily. I could definitely see parking becoming more difficult during busier times in the area though, so that's probably something to keep in mind depending on when you visit. This place is a little hidden but so glad we decided to come here for our girls coffee. I love that they validate parking, what a great way to support people coming to the space. I was throughly surprised at how much I liked this place. The prices are on the higher side but the quality is pretty solid. I got the french dip sandwich as well which had great flavor. I wish the bread held up a bit better because the bottom was very soggy. I also think it should be on a bigger plate. It's a very very messy meal. I also got the miso latte and the matcha. I wasn't impressed with the matcha but the miso was good even though it didn't have much miso flavor (so a little gimmicky). They also charge for special milk (latte is already 8-9 bucks) which is kind of insane pricing wise because they don't list the price on the menu for alterations. They don't offer the coffee hot so if you want it hot maybe ask. Service is very nice, they do get VERY busy. After yet another episode of Elder Eats, we saw this establishment mentioned on the show and they featured an egg salad sandwich that made my mouth water! My mom used to make us egg salad sandwiches but she's passed 2003 and I haven't had one since. Mainly because places put so many different things in their egg salad and I'm kinda finicky on how I like mine. After seeing their version, I HAD to try it ASAP. We decided to make the trek downtown (actually on the edge of downtown) off Broadway that same day. There is a lot of construction in the area and not a lot of parking so beware, but if you are lucky to find a spot, run don't walk to the Newstand and definitely order their Egg Salad sandwich and have it with a side of their ENORMOUS cinnamon roll! The establishment is extremely small and seating is very limited, but it's also a great option to place an order and go have a picnic elsewhere. The food is amazing, the sandwiches are huge and overly stuffed and the EGG SALAD SANDWICH brought me back to my mom which was the icing on the top! We just parked In The garage across the street.But I hear they will validate your parking if you bring the ticket in.The front of the building is still under construction.So Look for the white banner among the construction to find the place. The newstand just catered at an event that I was at, and all the barista's were super nice, especially Josh and the manger. The had a space set up on the side. They had a variety of food options, bakery, options, and drinks. I tried two of the Matchas that they had one hot and one cold and both were very delicious and flavorful. I have gone on three separate occasions, all of which were in the middle of the day and not very busy. And if you're planning on ordering food that doesn't even require any cooking, you're bound to wait at least 30 minutes even when you're one of four people in the whole establishment.
