BLUF: Mid-density coffee chain with Texas Hill Country roots, specialize in sweeter calorically dense caffeinated beverages, delicious as an occasional indulgence but not a place I'd go everyday. Summer Moon Coffee is great and this location is no exception. They specialize in sweeter, calorically dense, caffeinated beverages, with their signature Moon Milk being a stand out and my usual go to. They offer varying levels of sweetness, so everyone has the opportunity to dial in the beverage to their liking. They offer all the traditional coffee house staples as well, but I haven't personally tried any of those and can't speak to their quality. Prices are comparable to other coffee chains in the area. Ambient noise level inside the cafe was low and would be a well suited location to get some work done or study, several patrons seemed to be doing so. They offer WiFi, and the Verizon 5G signal was very strong inside. This location is a part of the Tripoint complex, shared with the D.R. Semmes Family YMCA and Trinity Baptist Church. Definitely worth stopping by for your caffeine fix after a workout if you're already in the area, but probably not a location I would come to for just the coffee. Things worth knowing ahead of time: They offer a drive through in you're in a hurry or stopping by on your way to work. Bonus points for having a drive-through -- one of the few local coffee spots I've seen in San Antonio that offers that! My friend and I shared two of their house-made Pop Tarts, and they were delicious -- flaky crust with a jammy, slightly tart filling that didn't feel overly sweet. She ordered a coffee and loved it. One thing that stood out was that they ask you what level of sweetness you prefer -- super helpful since their famous Moon Milk tends to be on the sweeter side. I ordered the Matcha and, honestly, it wasn't my favorite. If you like your matcha super milky and sweet, it might be perfect for you, but I prefer a more balanced flavor. Spectacular coffee, tried the half "Blue Moon" which is half moon milk with lavender in it. I'd also recommend a regular Half Moon or Quarter moon if you don't like lavender, and if you don't want it to be too sweet. The "Full Moon" is the sweetest option. I had heard some good reviews and looked forward to trying. They were sold out or didn't have the majority of their food items. The moon milk is very very sweet so next time I would recommend a half moon. The house coffee was also okay and one thing different about them is they don't offer refills on the house. I don't usually go out for coffee, but Summer Moon is addictive! It started innocently enough with a (decaf) quarter moon latte, because I needed to sit and work for a little bit in the afternoon. It was just sweet enough and rich enough to be so wonderfully warming. Next time was a matcha latte.. again. Perfect. Drip coffee, with lots of space for moon milk - yes please! Chestnut latte - different than Starbucks' Chestnut Praline but STILL SO GOOD. No whip cream needed! Finally I've also tried their spice chai and, while I told myself I was going to sip it over the next hour, it disappeared in a few minutes. Their coffee is MUCH better than their matcha. Former coffee shop and specialty tea shop barista here! I went to this location once before to try out their matcha lattes and was underwhelmed by what I tried, but wanted to return to try their coffee since Summer Moon always gets stellar reviews. Today was that day, and I'm glad I gave it another chance for the coffee. I ordered a 16oz Iced Blue Moon Latte and it was a far superior drink to the Matcha Lattes we'd tried on our previous trip here. Though I could taste the notes of lavender, the spices from the Moon Milk muddied the flavors a little bit more than I'd like for a drink with a lavender based flavor profile. It was also a little on the sweeter side and the espresso didn't shine through as much over the sweetness, again thanks to the Moon Milk, so I'd recommend ordering with less Moon Milk if you're not a fan of sweet drinks or want that specific flavor you are after. Still, it was pretty decent and very easy to drink. As for the Matcha Latte situation, my fiancé ordered an 16oz Iced Matcha Latte to see if things had changed, and though I did not try it he said it was worse than the last time. After these two visits I can confidently say that though I would skip Summer Moon for their tea, or this location's at least, I would consider returning for their coffees. I am still of the belief, however, that if a coffee shop has something outside of coffee on their menu, they should know how to make the drink; if you can't make it, don't sell it, and stick to coffee. I've been wanting to try Summer Moon Coffee for the last couple of years. I was in San Antonio this past weekend to celebrate my birthday. I ended up getting a few items. I got a 20oz WinterMoon Latte, an Everything Bagel, a Cinnamon Roll for my son, and a 20oz Summer Moon Coffee for my man. The WinterMoon Latte was perhaps the best latte I've ever had (Starbucks, watch out now, Summer Moon is coming after you). I honestly can say that I have a new favorite latte. The Everything bagel was warm with enough bite to it. It came with not 1 but 2 sides of cream cheese... a big plus. My man got the Summer Moon Coffee (no cream, no sugar), and he said it was really good. My son had the Cinnamon Roll. He almost ate the whole thing. I had a bite, and it was soft and delicious. It's one of the better Cinnamon Rolls I've had in a long time. The service is second to none. The line was long in the drive thru. The ambiance is like an upscale Coffee shop. A lot of places tend to add too much milk/cream, making it tough to taste the flavor of the coffee, but Summer Moon balanced it really well! If I was in town longer, I would go back. Very pleasant staff, nice ambiance, and open-feeling coffee spot to meet friends! Getting a group together here is not a problem. We had been able to snag the table in the center and it was well lit for our group to chat and play a board game. Unlike most coffee spots this one actually feels spacious and like you have some elbow room. I definitely will come back here again to try some of their seasonal cafes. If there was any indication as to how much I enjoy this Summer Moon, it's my incessant need to stop by whenever I'm in the area. It doesn't matter if there's a line, if there's traffic on the street, or I'm running late ... I'm going to get a moon of some kind, be it summer, winter, autumn or matcha. Located on a corner lot next to what seems like the most random venue ever (#1), this spot has the luxury of plenty of parking spots, plenty of interior space for lounging and working, and a drive-thru that is constantly busy. Shout out to their speedy WiFi, superior ventilation, and the book exchange box! It's hard to deny their various moon milk drinks, from the their signature hot summer moon to their refreshing winter moon. I am also fond of their cold brew, moon raker / glacier, as well as their chai tea. Most drinks run between $4-5 and are perfect on the go. I haven't had the courage to try their tacos, but I dig the treats / pastries from Bird Bakery. What I appreciate is that service is speedy and as usual, very friendly. I have passed by Summer Moon hundreds of times never knowing it was fabulous little coffee shop with their own roasted coffee beans. I try to support local and small businesses as much as possible but rarely find a coffee shop to visit a second time. Summer Moon has just changed my life . . . Because they are so fabulous I need them to build one closer to me! I went inside to order but when I was leaving I saw they had a drive thru! HUGE PLUS! So many local coffee joints don't have a drive-thru making it hard for me to want to go back unless I fell in love with the coffee, and that has yet to happen, until now. I went in and assumed the Summer Moon was just their basic coffee, the barista explained that it is a sweet cream latte made with their fresh house made sweet cream. That sounded fabulous so I order that along with a recommended pumpkin muffin that she informed me was made by a local baker. (I love that they support other local businesses too!) I got the the car with my Summer Moon (sweet cream latte) and pumpkin muffin that she so lovingly warmed for me. I took one sip of that latte and I was done! It was HOT, actually hot. Nothing worse than ordering a much needed coffee drink for it to be handed to you and the temperature you'd give a toddler. My latte was actually hot. Actually tasted like coffee. And was not overpowered by the flavor of the sweet cream. It was such a perfect balance. Then the muffin . . . Oooohhhh that muffin. First of all, I'm not even supposed to have gluten (bad sensitivity) but I just knew I needed it to go with my coffee. It was so freaking good, I ate half of it before I even got back to the coffee. The flavor and the texture were ridiculous, soft, fluffy, moist, crisp drizzle of frosting, absolute perfection! I even gathered all the crumbs and made a tiny cake ball so nothing went to waste. As for my gluten issue, losing some hair and a few sleepless nights were totally worth it, I'd do it again. Great ambiance, very spacious, good for group study, or just to stare out the window. Very nice and helpful staff, super friendly. They have a drive-thru, and a free community library. Cutest place ever. The ice blueberry crisp latte is a must order! It tastes like you're drinking blueberry milk. It's a perfect treat, especially for these warmer days. Awesome coffee shop! Really great ambiance and very spacious. You can sit on a couch or on a low top or high top table to enjoy a coffee with a friend or to just study. I got the quarter moon and it was pretty good. Definitely something I recommend if you don't want your coffee to be too sweet. The staff was nice and friendly and you could tell they loved working there. There was also nice outside seating available. The sign had a bird nesting in it bc that's just how good this place was. It's a very popular spot, too popular. If you don't want Moon Milk, this might not be the place to go. It's really difficult ordering a coffee without Moon Milk, it's almost unheard of. The drive thru is super convenient but the line is always super long. They have had to serve cold drinks only, the past two times I've gone and didn't mention it until I was in line and couldn't get out. When I got to the front I saw hot drinks and they said they can serve hot, the machine was down so it was taking long which is a bit different from what they originally said. There's better local spots, I wish this spot wasn't so convenient to my place but as of the last two times, I haven't been happy with service. read more

Second time here and hats off to the entire team! The drive thru line looked deceiving as I was about 10 cars back but, to my surprise I was in and out in about 11min. My first time there, I was offered a second coffee on the house as it was a double make and it was amazing! Upon return, I asked if they knew what "MM" on the cup was and they did!
