This location is fabulous...located in the Shops of Old Town Helotes. There are so many shady trees to sit under and tables to gather. I walked in super quick to pick up a nice cold drink. Decided on their iced green peach tea. Good, not too sweet. Looked like they've got a breakfast and lunch menu as well, with an additional room for seating indoors. Noticed some pastries on display from the bakery directly across. Need to revisit to try some of their other drinks. read more

I went on a Thursday morning. There were only 4 people inside who had already ordered. I went to the counter where 2 ladies stood,but neither greeted me or even acknowledged me. A third lady came out and spoke to one of the others. And still I was ignored. So I spoke telling all 3 ladies "Good morning ". 2 of the ladies looked at me but still nothing. I continued to stand there for a few more minutes and then just left. Obviously, customer service is not important to them. I will definitely never go back. read more

There's something so quaint and sweet about Old Town Helotes. We love stopping by all of the community events but what we love the most is coming to support all of the local small businesses. And as a foodie, there's no better way to support than eating and posting! This visit took us to Cracked Mug Helotes a Texas Hill Country hidden gem serving up coffee, breakfast, and a variety of baked goods that everyone deserves to know try for themselves. All of their coffee is from local specialty coffee roasters minutiae coffee and all baked goods are made from scratch in house. I tried their Egg, Sausage, and Cheese Croissant Breakfast Sandwich and really enjoyed it. The croissant was fluffy and flaky, and the ingredients were prepared perfectly. I would have liked a salsa, which I know to ask for next time. My wife liked her Breakfast Plate w/ 2 Eggs, Homestyle Potatoes, Sausage and Texas Toast. Pretty simple items but they were executed perfectly. But what stands out the most here is the ambiance and atmosphere. This place is located in the beautiful gathering of small businesses called Shops at Old Town Helotes. It's perfectly nestled along a line of shade giving trees where sunrays dance between the branches on a sunny day. It's the perfect setting for a day date that we all deserve now and then. We did! It's always lovely to find a real coffee shop in San Antonio. (SATX loves its drive-thru-Java spots, but that's not my jam.) This cozy space has a quiet vibe and a few hot dishes instead of the usual muffins and carb-heavy fare. It's nestled into a lovely treed area strung with lights, across from a nifty looking wine place. The atmosphere is lovely, and the Honey I'm Home latte (honey and lavender) was transcendent. Since the space is small inside, it was a little loud with a little kid squealing and running around -- literally. And the music was religious pop, another less than stellar choice. But since I beg my coffee shop experiences in SoTex, I was happy to take the chance to stop in on a misty Saturday morning. read more

If yall go you need to try the strawberry lemonade. I usually get the iced mocha or the strawberry lemonade, trust me they are so good! Personally am not a fan of their breakfast tacos, but they make it up with their breakfast places. We love the outside area during fall and winter. My favorite thing about going is hearing the creaky door every time we walk in. The place feels small but cozy and always welcoming. read more

Favorite coffee shop in town, food and drinks are delicious and located in the charming historic Helotes. Great place for sitting outside on a nice morning and enjoying some fresh air and some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Definitely recommend getting biscuits and gravy. I had an appointment in old town Helotes that I was early for so I decided to stop in for a coffee while I waited. I walked in and it looked like the barista was visiting with a friend. It ended quickly and the person walked away. I walked up to the counter to ask a question or even have a friendly exchange and the barista didn't acknowledge me. She didn't say hi, didn't even look my way. We were like 3ft apart! I was standing at the counter just looking at her as she moved around as if I was invisible. So I asked her "do I order with you?" She completely ignored me. I honestly debated that maybe she was deaf? I asked the question again and she barely let out a "yeah" grunt while adjusting her AirPod (one side was in). I sat there for a second and debated on ordering anyway- before someone came out from the back and passed me up looking equally as miserable as the young lady behind the counter. I took my son's hand and walked out. I was appalled at the lack of courtesy. I wouldn't stand face to face with a stranger and act so superior let alone running an establishment! It was going to be my first time there but nevermind. I went to my appointment coffee-less but they recommended Texas Grounds to me so that was my next stop. How sad because this place looked so cute and quaint. Like a happy place but I walked in to very miserable people. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for about a year until we finally had a chance to stop by for a morning breakfast. Such a cute and cozy little place with a roomy outdoors area that's also dog-friendly! My fiancé and I got a drip coffee, iced latte, and breakfast plate, and a breakfast bowl. They do not have pup cups but I asked for my whip cream on the side so my dog can have a treat too. All was super delicious. Between the cool weather that morning, the taste of coffee, the sun on our skin, the shade from the trees. and bacon in our faces, it was a wonderful experience. I'm glad it's someone close to us. Service is timely, but the order taker isn't on point at all, and they've run out of serving dishes. The only upside is that sitting in the patio is great for our party of six. Hubby wanted to try some more local coffee and this place popped up. It's in a cute location in downtown Helotes. My husband said their house blend was super smooth and he honestly ended up enjoying it more than coffee from summer moon (his usual favorite). We looked into the place they source their beans from and it turns out it's a little coffee company here in the Alamo ranch area! They're a newly established coffee company & their coffee is great! I ended up getting a mixed berry lemonade that was incredibly delicious. It was light, not overly sweet, and was perfect for this hot day. We also decided to split their turkey and cheddar sandwich which was great. I was expecting regular lunch meat and was really surprised and happy with the carved turkey instead. We would 100% come back here. Prices are great, food was delicious, staff was friendly, and they offered a military discount! read more

I visit San Antonio often to visit by bff who lives in Helotes. This is one spot we love to visit. Unfortunately, today we were disappointed. My bff ordered avocado toast to eat outside. On the carry back to our outside table, the toast slipped off the plate and hit the gravel. As one of the workers was outside to see, my bff handed the graveled toasted to her and informed of the fall. Not looking for a replacement, the worker said, "oh that's too bad." Now as a person who is high on customer service, one would've thought to offer a replacement or as least ask if we wanted a replacement. Nope, she took the toast and went back into the facility. I say do better and be the facility that goes above! read more

I don't t recommend going during the Weekend. We had an hour wait for a latte and a chai tea.

It was very tasty and had a great ambience. But the portions are very tiny and I would only go for coffee not for food..

On my visit to San Antonio, went to check this place out. The outdoor seating area is beautiful and relaxing. I had high hopes for the food and coffee. I have to say I was disappointed. The food came as pictured. My SIL looked at our food with dismay. My sausage was salty. It tasted like salt was sprinkled on top. Eggs did not look appealing. Biscuits and gravy was not at all what I expected based on other reviews. If I come back, it will be for the outdoor area. I gave it 2 stars, 1 for the service and 1 for the outdoor ambience. read more

I do like coming here but was very disappointed that they charge $1 for milk alternatives to be added to drinks. * The menu above the register does not mention that there is an additional cost for milk alts. * $1 is A LOT to charge considering the whole box is usually around $2.50 - Upsetting that businesses always try to make profit off of lactose intolerant people and vegans yet don't put this same burden on dairy milk requests. read more

Really loved this little coffee shop! It's a very nice quiet little stop, in Old Town Helotes. Even walking up to it was a nice experience. The employees are helpful, and the foot and coffee is great! They also have several sugar free flavors, keto coffee, and pretty good food! My only complaint is that they stop serving breakfast at noon - but even that is later than other places, so I can't hold it against them too much. We will be back! read more

I was very impressed with the food here and I loved my coffee! I got the waffle plate (with turkey because they didn't have turkey bacon/sausage) and it was delicious--especially with the cinnamon butter. The waffles looked pretty well done but they didn't taste burnt, just nice and crunchy. My family all got breakfast tacos which were amazing and were nicely priced. Coffee wise, I got the Old Town Turtle with oatmilk and it was great! The shop itself was super cute with lots of seating and the staff was friendly. So yummy and sweet! The ladies working the counter were very friendly and provided great service. My husband had the Japanese iced coffee, he said he would absolutely recommend for any black coffee lovers. The coffee is a pour over made fresh to order in front of you. He devoured the muffin before I could ask for a bite, so I would say it was good. If you like lavender try the "Honey I'm Home" latte!! It's spectacular! Homemade biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were delicious, the croissant breakfast sandwich melted in my mouth, and the Willie Nelson iced latte had just the right amount of cinnamon. The Bible quote on my coffee cup warmed my heart and you can choose to sit inside or outside, both options are inviting! Will be back to this lovely place in Old Town Helotes! read more

The ambiance of this restaurant is beautiful inside and out. Very trendy. The staff was nice and cordial and very informative on their menu and products. Onto the food In total we ordered: A bacon egg and cheese croissant- The croissant was beautifully light and flaky perfectly brown. The eggs were over easy with the runny yolk but did lack some seasoning (salt and pepper) it had a good cheddar cheese melted along the bottom. My only complaint was the bacon. It tasted as if it was cooked in old bacon grease or was old bacon. It had a very distinct taste that was not appealing. Biscuits and gravy These were a well baked slightly dense biscuit. Perfect for gravy. They were nicely buttered which gave an awesome taste. These were topped with a well seasoned pepper gravy it had a thick and creamery texture. We had the same problem with the bacon as stated above (old tasting) and the eggs were well seasoned and over medium. A blueberry muffin This was once again a beautifully baked muffin. It had a good distribution of frozen wild blueberries. And had was a wonderfully spongy texture. The almonds on top could of had a bit more toast as they were pretty raw but all in all it was a good warm blueberry muffin Black cold brew coffee This was a nice smooth blonde roast coffee.It had a good smooth finish and did not need cream or sugar. And one small hot chocolate. This was a powder hot chocolate mixed with water. The whip cream, mellows and chocolate sauce were a plus on the top of this hot chocolate. It was also served at the perfect temperature. Nothing to write home about, after all it's a coffee shop not a hot chocolate joint. read more

The Cracked Mug is one of my favorite local coffee shops to stop by. The staff always greets me with a smile and are so nice and patient while I try and decide between all of the seasonal drinks that they have consistently rotating on their menu (honestly I usually end up walking out with 2 drinks just because I can't choose). There are cozy seating areas inside and a lovely outdoor area shaded by trees to be able to enjoy coffee and food items (which I have yet to try but everything always looks so good). Their muffins are to die for honestly. I've never had one I didn't like, but if they have Apple Maple Bacon in the case, grab it. It's my absolute favorite and everyone deserves to experience it. read more

It's located in Old Town Helotes, and had a nice patio area that's in the middle of several other business. We went inside, and while it's tiny, we were able to find a table. I felt like we were in someone's house - it's quaint, with its mismatched tables and chairs, sofas and coffee tables. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was really good - hot and fresh with a nice amount of egg and cheese. My son ordered the breakfast bowl, which he quickly devoured. The coffee was fresh and hot - when we arrived, there was no more in the pot, so we had to wait for a little bit for a fresh pot. It was well-worth the wait! Waited over 20 minutes for a coffee. When my husband went to see what was going on, he was told they make to order. There was a 5k run and they seemed swamped. Looking into the kitchen it seems there is only one person making the brews. The gentleman gave my husband a free coffee card, my coffee and asked us to try them again.
