Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Croissant Sandwich
    Angel S.

There's something so quaint and sweet about Old Town Helotes. We love stopping by all of the community events but what we love the most is coming to support all of the local small businesses. And as a foodie, there's no better way to support than eating and posting! This visit took us to Cracked Mug Helotes a Texas Hill Country hidden gem serving up coffee, breakfast, and a variety of baked goods that everyone deserves to know try for themselves. All of their coffee is from local specialty coffee roasters minutiae coffee and all baked goods are made from scratch in house. I tried their Egg, Sausage, and Cheese Croissant Breakfast Sandwich and really enjoyed it. The croissant was fluffy and flaky, and the ingredients were prepared perfectly. I would have liked a salsa, which I know to ask for next time. My wife liked her Breakfast Plate w/ 2 Eggs, Homestyle Potatoes, Sausage and Texas Toast. Pretty simple items but they were executed perfectly. But what stands out the most here is the ambiance and atmosphere. This place is located in the beautiful gathering of small businesses called Shops at Old Town Helotes. It's perfectly nestled along a line of shade giving trees where sunrays dance between the branches on a sunny day. It's the perfect setting for a day date that we all deserve now and then. We did! Cozy little coffee shop corner

It's always lovely to find a real coffee shop in San Antonio. (SATX loves its drive-thru-Java spots, but that's not my jam.) This cozy space has a quiet vibe and a few hot dishes instead of the usual muffins and carb-heavy fare. It's nestled into a lovely treed area strung with lights, across from a nifty looking wine place. The atmosphere is lovely, and the Honey I'm Home latte (honey and lavender) was transcendent. Since the space is small inside, it was a little loud with a little kid squealing and running around -- literally. And the music was religious pop, another less than stellar choice. But since I beg my coffee shop experiences in SoTex, I was happy to take the chance to stop in on a misty Saturday morning.

This was such a cute place to stop by for coffee and breakfast tacos. I was warmly welcomed by upon entering the cafe. The interior space is very small but there is lots of outdoor seating options.

I've had this place bookmarked for about a year until we finally had a chance to stop by for a morning breakfast. Such a cute and cozy little place with a roomy outdoors area that's also dog-friendly! My fiancé and I got a drip coffee, iced latte, and breakfast plate, and a breakfast bowl. They do not have pup cups but I asked for my whip cream on the side so my dog can have a treat too. All was super delicious. Between the cool weather that morning, the taste of coffee, the sun on our skin, the shade from the trees. and bacon in our faces, it was a wonderful experience. I'm glad it's someone close to us. Will need to wake up earlier to go back!

I went here for the first time and I loved it. The staff was really nice and I'd go back for the amazing service. I ordered a matcha (vanilla flavor, oatmilk, and a hint of mango). For food, I ordered the breakfast plate and I enjoyed every bite. I loved eating outside it was so beautiful and amazing to be outdoor in a beautiful town. Truly enjoyed the experience.

Mixed berry lemonade & house blend

Hubby wanted to try some more local coffee and this place popped up. It's in a cute location in downtown Helotes. My husband said their house blend was super smooth and he honestly ended up enjoying it more than coffee from summer moon (his usual favorite). We looked into the place they source their beans from and it turns out it's a little coffee company here in the Alamo ranch area! They're a newly established coffee company & their coffee is great! I ended up getting a mixed berry lemonade that was incredibly delicious. It was light, not overly sweet, and was perfect for this hot day. We also decided to split their turkey and cheddar sandwich which was great. I was expecting regular lunch meat and was really surprised and happy with the carved turkey instead. We would 100% come back here. Prices are great, food was delicious, staff was friendly, and they offered a military discount!

Very nice atmosphere, seating inside and outside. Coffee was great, I got an iced Willie Nelson latte. Very cute coffee shop. They also offer a discount for military/healthcare/first responders.

Cute and cozy little coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Coffee and food is great, friendly service and great ambiance!

Not what I expected.:( This looked so sad and it did not taste good.

From the moment we stepped into 6 Klicks Cafe, the vibe was immediate--warm, welcoming, and real. Not forced, not corporate. Just genuine energy. The kind of place where you already know you're about to eat good before you even see the menu. The Food I ordered the grilled chicken marsala, and they didn't just throw it on a plate--they presented it. Everything looked intentional. * Chicken cooked perfectly * Sauce was on point * Mashed potatoes? Had me wanting the recipe after one bite * Green beans with sausage and onion--straight comfort food I also tried the chicken tenders, fries, and Texas toast--everything was done right. Crispy where it needed to be, flavorful across the board. Portion size? Let's be real, it felt like they made the plate for two people. ________________________________________ ‍ Service Service was top-tier. * Greeted immediately * Server knew the menu and helped us decide * Drinks came fast (shoutout to that blackberry tea ) * Food came out in under 10 minutes No waiting, no confusion, no "let me check on that" energy. Just smooth. ________________________________________ Atmosphere This place has identity. It's not trying to be trendy--it's authentic. You can feel the story behind it. Veteran-owned, patriotic, and built with intention. It's the kind of spot where you could sit, eat, and talk for hours without feeling rushed. Family vibe all day. ________________________________________ Price vs Value Not the cheapest--but worth it. When the portions are big, the food is made right, and the experience is solid... the price makes sense. ________________________________________ Final Verdict 10/10 (with no real complaints) This isn't just somewhere you eat. Clearly, the restaurant was stretched way too thin with too many reservations. We arrived on time for a 12 o'clock reservation, but were not seated until 1215. We were offered a high top bar table which we rejected along with three of the next customers that came in with reservations. A high top table is not the optimal Mother's Day brunch seating. Our cocktails were very good, and we are very happy to see Mark as the new lead for their drink service Our waiter was a bit inexperienced. He was very friendly and took our order right away. The prize fix menu included an appetizer, and entrée and dessert. We ordered everything right away, but asked that it would be coursed with proper timing. Unfortunately, we had barely started our appetizer when our main dishes arrived. We ordered a bottle of wine since the wine menu by the glass is less than optimal. By the bottle is a slightly better selection. Unfortunately, our waiter broke the cork in the bottle, yet still served it to us. We dug the cork out and asked for a new bottle to be opened. The Management and bar were very friendly and apologetic for this mistake. Our food was not quite what we had hoped for. My wife's short ribs Benedict had overcooked eggs. My Chilaquiles were soggy and not very tasty. Dessert, strawberry shortcake quite dry We watched the wait staff scramble, bring food to the wrong tables, clearly overwhelmed by the large number of guests on this occasion. We have great hopes for this restaurant. However, for a large occasion such as today ñ, limiting the number of reservations and maximizing customer service, food, quality, and attention to guests would be optimal and we hope they take that suggestion.

I actually used Perplexity and asked for a list of venues that would meet our needs. Then, I read more about them on their websites. I liked what I saw at Kerbey Lane. They had some unusual offerings and a large selection of gluten free choices. The restaurant sits right on 1604. There is plenty of parking in front of it. The dining room was clean and comfortable. At 1:30, when our group went, the lunch rush was pretty much over, and we were led to a large table in the middle. Our server was a cheerful young lady who knew the menu well and was very helpful. Her description of their nitro cold press coffee given to one of my friends enticed me to have one as well. It was very delicious. The coffee was strong and robust with a hint of sweetness from the vanilla cream on the top. They actually have this coffee on tap like beer. Several items on the menu caught my eye. I wasn't sure which one I was going to have until the very moment I ordered. My choice was their Kimchi Beef. It was a large piece of bulgogi flavored steak covered with kimchi, slivers of raw carrot, and other vegetables with a light sauce of some kind. It made me think of a Thai meat salad, although the meat wasn't chopped. It was fresh and delicious. I was pretty busy conversating with my friends, so I don't really know what all they had. I do know that one of them had the special green tomato BLT. She really liked it, but would have liked the bacon to be more crisp. It looked exactly the way I like it- especially on sandwiches. Another friend had a giant salad of some kind on field greens. She raved about it the whole time she was eating. I am pretty sure that everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. With the good food, awesome server, and very pleasant ambiance, I am sure that many of us will be coming back. One of our group even commanded me to put Kerbey Lane on the rotation for next year.

Despite me SHOWING them where the egg was NOT FULLY COOKED THROUGH. I cook eggs for myself everyday. And being pregnant the egg must fully be cooked through. They were telling me it's bc of the cheese melted on top. Which has nothing to do with the egg. You could see the clear distinction between the cheese and egg. I wish I had taken a photo to share. They would not take it back to be remade. So I just said forget it and we ate them anyway. Since I'm in my third trimester I figured I should be fine. However a great manager would have made sure they were remade. I use to work in the restaurant biz and the customer is always right. And I was showing them their error and they were working to convince me it was cooked all the way, again when you could clearly see it wasn't. Also my hubs strawberry lemonade was not even filled up all the way in the cup. I would expect if we are paying for something that doesn't have a refill, at least fill it up all the way. Oh and my BIGGEST disappointment is that there is NO BURRITO!! We actually came here for that specifically, only to find out that it has not been on the menu for over a year, yet that is the one review and promotion that pops up when you look at this establishment. So it's false advertising and should be taken down since they no longer make the burrito. Also if you're coming here to work, it's super small and cramped. I did see a ton of people sitting with laptops and having meetings. However I wouldn't come to this place to work, unless it's the only option in your area. Overall, next time I'm in town, we won't coming back here, primarily bc it's close to the Eilan hotel we stayed at and we definitely won't be staying there again. Already wrote my review about that place, and I don't recommend it.
