We were excited to try this place and the hour was about an hour or so. This is a place with many locations across San Antonio and although this issue may be a location issue - for it being a first impression, it'll unfortunately also be our last. To start, the utensil were dirty, in one of the pictures you can see the piece of lettuce or whatever it was on the fork, I asked the waitress to replace it and she brought another one, that one WAS ALSO DIRTY. I can excuse one but TWO different sets of silverware dirty? We eventually asked for plastic silverware to use. The waitress was also pretty inattentive and did not bring out our drinks until the very end and had the audacity to ask me why we didn't remind her. Maybe because you never visited our table for us to even ask you about it?? Anyways this is unfortunate because the food was actually pretty good but due to the service and lack of safety protocols in the place it affected the whole company for us and we won't be visiting other locations in the future most likely. read more

The people who brought out the food were different, but it appeared that they worked as a team, because when I asked for something, they didnt pass the message around and just addressed it immediately - which we appreciate! It was tough but it chew, stringy, and coated in black pepper. We didn't eat it. I got the honey caramel latte. It was sickeningly sweet with way too much honey. Then we waited for 45 mins for our meal and it was never served. We got up and left to pay at the front. The server saw us and came up to remove our entree from the tab. But I still paid $20 for bacon we didn't even eat and 2 drinks- did I mention that my boyfriend's Dr Pepper was clearly flat? Most importantly, we never received our meal. Had breakfast with my son and daughter-in-love yesterday. Wait time was only 15min (Yessssss)! We were seated behind the checkin counter with a great deal of in and out traffic, especially since the table was also by a door that leads to the patio. However, staff was friendly and they seemed to be tending to the tables as best as possible. Our food came out in a good timing but it was slightly underwhelming. I tried a bite, but the sauce was a bit too salty for my liking, but husband thought it was as good as it gets. He initially wanted to split between my eggs benedict and his poutine. After he started devouring it, he changed mind and no longer wanted to share lol! I also enjoyed my salmon eggs benedict. I wish the poached eggs was a bit more runny, but not the end of the world. Sometimes one hankers for a basic, delicious breakfast, so after Marjan taught her spinning class, we found ourselves at First Watch off Bandera and 1604, intending to sample their offerings. First watch is a chain restaurant, with about 5 locations here in the Alamo City. The philosophy here is to provide patrons with fresh, locally found ingredients, in house baked breads, and free range chicken eggs. The restaurant is located in a strip center, on the north side of a mega HEB. Parking is available in front of the eatery, but if full, there is more than ample parking in the grocery lot. While there can be a wait to be seated, time can be saved by using their website wait list, that of which we availed ourselves. (Three weeks prior we were unaware of the waitlist, and driving to the restaurant, the queue was 15 or 20 patrons in line...so we passed on the visit this particular day.) We were seated literally within minutes, and we took note of the space. There are perhaps two dozen tables and booths interior, with patio seating outdoors. The decor is pleasing, shall we say with homage to a "home style" ambience, witness the signs and paintings on the walls. Each table bears a medallion, telling that tables are constructed of "sustainably harvested ash". Marjan wanted a basic breakfast, and chose their "Traditional Breakfast": over easy eggs, the house artisanal toast, cubed potatoes, and chicken patty. She considered this breakfast happy for her palate, with particular praise for the potatoes and the patty. I selected an omelet, their "Inspired Italian". This offering, cage free eggs, filled with italian sausage, roasted tomatoes, red peppers, and cheeses. The seasoning was perfect for the breakfast, and the potatoes and toast a terrific complement. The service was a bit slow for our table, perhaps because every table was filled, perhaps a slight understaffing issue. Aside from that detractor, we definitely enjoyed our breakfast, and rate the restaurant 4 of Marjan's origami boots. (Our gold standard for delicious breakfast is actually another chain, Snooze, for readers comparison). We plan a future return, and definitely recommend the Yelper looking for a satisfying breakfast! Had a great breakfast with the family this morning. Our server Lexi was attentive and answered all of our questions which led to us having some amazing meals thanks to her recommendation. I have the million-dollar breakfast sandwich on gluten-free bread and it was delicious, especially with their grits as a side. My daughter had their egg white power wrap and it was so filling My husband had their honey bacon Brussels hash and if you love goat cheese get this and ask for extra because it's delicious!!
