I ordered their lunch special - enchiladas and it's a huge plate! Plus, it comes with extra tortillas which I didn't even get to touch since I was so full. It also came with a huge drink. You definitely get your money's worth! Service is always great. Ladies are nice and friendly. This place is like a chill neighborhood spot downtown. Have been here once before for lunch, so decided to give breakfast a go since I got to work early. Very casual place with menus on the table tops and friendly staff. Had the huevos rancheros with a pork chop. Everything was good. The pork chop was a little tough but tasty. Over hard eggs (I know!) were perfect!! Perfect! Good chunky ranchero sauce and beans. Been having breakfast here for years and the food and service has never disappointed. My go-to dish is the Chilaquiles with flour tortillas. The eggs and chips are topped with a classic shredded cheddar cheese and make a great little taco if you use the flour tortilla to wrap it up in and put some of the green salsa on top. Additionally, the service is impressive with many of the servers making an effort to remember your order and make you feel welcome when you walk in the door after they notice you've been coming there frequently. I hate leaving such a low rating for a family-owned business, but our experience at Oasis Cafe leaves me with little choice. First, it should be said that the people here are extremely friendly. The place, though it's divey, is pretty clean. Parking is a pain. -- As out-of-towners, we didn't know that we couldn't park in the lot adjacent to the restaurant, so we put ourselves at risk of being towed. (We were fortunate that such didn't happen.) Most regulars during our visit were parking on the street, and there seemed to be plenty of it. We drove way out of the way to eat breakfast here, based entirely on such a positive Yelp following. I had a couple of tacos-- barbacoa and chicharron w/ egg. My wife ordered migas. Really, all you have to do is look at the photos I uploaded to see my complaints. The migas were essentially tortilla chips that appeared as if they were dipped in egg, then cooked until over-dry, with nary a leaf of cilantro. Very disappointing. ~ My barbacoa was average ... no complaints. But my chicharron and egg taco was very similar to my wife's migas. Pork rinds placed atop an overcooked egg portion, then folded in a tortilla. Perhaps Oasis has its own house recipes for these classic Tex-Mex breakfast dishes, and that's fine. But the stuff we were served, albeit hot and fresh, just seemed like it wasn't prepared with much love. Still, I wish this business well and hope that they use the less-than-stellar reviews (such as this one) to improve. read more

The other food choices are good but not great. Lunch specials are generous and a great value compared to most downtown eateries. Chilaquiles Absolutely good!!! Tortillas were fresh and crispy, eggs cooked just right with onions. The green sauce just the right amount of spice. The beans and potatoes standard. Comes with soft homemade tortillas very good. Put them all together in the tortillas and you have a chilaquiles breakfast burrito. read more

Service: is extremely fast, the menus are embedded into tables with rotating daily specials and regular specials at $6.50 with free tea! Food: As a usual, they already have my sweet tea ready. Get the tea! Next up, I almost always get the Senorita Special (however, I never wear a dress). This place reminds me of my grandma with a authentic enchilada, puffy taco (with your choice of meat), rice/beans and a cheese chalupa! Let's talk about the chalupa, it's a corn tortilla fried into a flat big chip topped with melted cheese - plain and simple, my fav. They usually offer meatloaf on Thursdays as a "secret item", It comes with (real) mashed potatoes and gravy. The meatloaf was just okay, too many onions for my taste. While the Oasis doesn't look like much, both from the outside and inside, the food and service are both first rate!! Today I had the Oasis's daily special, (TexMex / Mexican equivalent to the traditional American Diner's blue plate special), 3 chicken enchiladas with molè sauce, refried beans, rice, and lettuce tomatoe salad, served with your choice of wheat or corn tortillas ( I chose corn). The corn tortillas are house made freshly pressed and come out piping hot. The Molè sauce was spot on, I mean I was wiping the molè with the tortillas while thinking do I have enough tortillas or should I just lick the plate. Okay, the 2nd best part (1st was the Molè) was the cost, which was $6.50, which included ice tea. Finally the service was awesome, the 3 waitresses were quick, polite, accurate, efficient... something a lot of the high priced Riverwalk restaurants don't have. Hidden Gem!!! My husband and I got three breakfast tacos each, expecting them to be small like street tacos. They were much bigger than expected. Two would have been fine, but at that price, why not get three! Guisada is delicious. The chilaquiles taco super delicious. Egg and bacon taco delicious. Chorizo a la Mexicana delicious. Those are all the ones I remember us ordering. Coffee is also pretty good. Now this is what I call a nice mom and pop authentic breakfast spot! Really good prices with a great staff. We went for breakfast. I got the Migas. It's a big portion size. It tastes pretty good especially when you pair it with the house red sauce. My wife got the huevos rancheros. The eggs were nice and runny like she loves. Both come with home made corn tortillas. She really liked the tortilla and runny egg combination. Again a good portion size. The coffee was good. But the staff was great at making sure the cup was full. The only thing is that the outside looks a little run down and the ceiling needs a little TLC. I would like to return and try the breakfast tacos or even the lunch specials. read more

My husband and I were looking for a decent Mexican food restaurant and were pointed to Oasis restaurant by the gentlemen at Bunz. The carne guisada and Picadillo tacos were excellent. They have great daily specials and is inexpensive to boot. We are here for a few days, so we will be coming back. Breakfast ends at 11am. They close at 3pm and at 2pm on Saturday.
