Once we entered, we were greeted and told to sit anywhere. We were Immediately provided menus and gave our drink order.. we were asked if we wanted chips and salsa and provided time to look at the menu. We ordered the (3) crispy taco plates and got the opportunity to mix it up with chicken AND beef tacos; the tortillas were light and fresh! We also got the Mexican burger ; didn't disappoint. First time here! Absolutely loved it! I ordered the San Antonio plate and big breakfast for my kiddo. If I had more room in my belly it would have been a squeaky clean plate on both pages. This was definitely a great combination plate full of flavor and authentic ingredients! I love holes in the wall places they have the best of everything! We chose this place to cater our MHS 50th HS Reunion. We got chicken & beef fajitas, spanish rice and beans and tortillas. In addition every person got individual cups of sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. We had 100 plates and EVERYONE raved on and on about how delicious the food (very ample servings also!), the service and the professionalism was for this restaurant. It is a hidden gem on the Southside of town and I know many of us will definitely go back for their delicious food and outstanding service. I have been to the restaurant before on my own and it is clean and always welcoming. Please seek it out, make the trip and I promise you will not be disappointed. read more

Best Mexican food during our trip! My husband had the Texas plate and the stew had such incredible depth of flavor! I had the enchiladas verde con pollo and the chicken was moist and flavorful as well. The mini tacos almost ruined our meal they were so good. If you're in the area visiting the San Antonio Missions, you've gotta try this place. If you aren't visiting the Missions, you gotta try this place! read more

I decided to try out 4 Missions Cafe after checking out the pictures posted by fellow Yelpers. My overall dining experience was fairly good. There wasn't much of a dining ambience, but I'm guessing the restaurant owners are primarily focusing on the food? The complimentary chips & salsa were fair. I ordered the Crispy Taco Plate with one beef & one chicken taco. My platter didn't have much of a presentation, but good & not greasy. The crispy chicken taco was made with shredded chicken breast meat, which was a big plus! I liked the rice & the flavor of the charro beans. The charro beans however had more bacon & sliced wieners than actual beans. I didn't though agree with the $1.99 fee to substitute the refried beans with the charro beans. Most restaurants wouldn't charge to switch the beans! I did receive a complimentary sample taste of the Fideo Soup & it was good. Customer service level was very good during my dining experience. My server was courteous & efficient. I don't know if I'll be back anytime soon, but would consider another visit perhaps in the future?! read more

The hours on Yelp were wrong, they close at 3pm. We literally walked up at 3pm and they asked the kitchen if they'd stay open and they did! Wow! Amazing hospitality and customer service. Absolutely amazing. It feels like I'm eating at my grandmas house! The waiter and waitress were so humble and very attentive. The food was absolutely amazing! Best thing about here is the homemade food,great service ,and the manager in charge.hes a lil young to be the manger ,but makes it look easy,making the floor run smoothly,checking to make food is up to his standards and showing he cares .he always dresses up and always welcomes and says good bye with a smile .all the food is made to order Only down side is it's a quite a drive out here for the hidden gem but if in the area take a drive and experience great quality food and awesome service read more

One of the best Mexican meals I've had! We stopped in for breakfast and found a casual diner type place with a big menu and great prices. The waiter was super friendly and patient and not only described dishes but also brought us samples. They had different homemade hot sauces and salsa and chips and the food was so delicious. We nearly made ourselves sick because we didn't want to stop eating. We are staying close by for the weekend and will definitely be back. read more

I came here on lunch one day, there was literally nowhere else to go in 45mins and actually have time to eat. So being that I work down the street at JDC I was really hungry and needed something quick so I was told of this place. There were other county workers here so I said why not. They had an okay menu, a typical Mexican restaurant menu. So I had decided to try out their lunch special which was the crispy taco plate with a tea, the price was very good, so I couldn't turn it down. Once receiving my food I couldn't help but notice that the price was so good cause they gave you so little. The food wasn't bad, it just it was literally like a quick bite which didn't fill me up for the day but was good tasting. Overall good price but not huge servings at all. read more

Delicious! My husband and I were driving back from the coast and wanted a lunch stop on the south side of San Antonio. This was definitely worth the stop! You could tell it is a local favorite. The parking lot out front was full. I wish I had taken pictures of our food, but we scarfed it down before I thought about it. Portions were generous. My husband had a sample type platter with a puffy taco (I had a bite and it was so good), beef enchilada, beef taco, and tamale. I had carne guisada. My husband raved about the refried beans - which had amazing flavor -- and he's not a bean aficionado, but he liked them so much that he used one of my flour tortillas to create a bean burrito. I felt like I was in mi tia's kitchen. This was during the COVID19 restrictions, so they had tables more than 6' apart. I felt safe and it was super clean. The waitperson was courteous with a great personality and did an amazing job serving us quickly. If you love authentic Mexican food, you must stop at 4 Missions. read more

Let us begin with how much this establishment reminds me of the cafe's from my childhood. Greeted as though your family when you open the door, smiles and hugs all around. Our waiter was super energetic and was more than willing to help, even bringing us samples of everything we asked about. Now for the food... OMG! Best Mexican Breakfast I Have Ever Had!!! Ultimately, my test for a good marg is to have the bartender make my favorite, Blanco tequila, Cointreau, and lime. He did, but added fake lime juice and didn't use Cointreau. It also wasn't good. I'm bummed. Beautiful patio, lots of potential, but it's just not it.

The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing.
