I'm trying to be fair because the cafe is under renovation, but It was cold and noisy (lots of hard surfaces). My friend adored her macchiato and ferro rocher ball, but i had a different experience -- the basbousa i love here was heavy and less flavorful than before. I don't know what wasn't right, but this was not what i expected. There were only a few nougats, sadly none of my favorites. I wanted a cold Americano, but was told it was only available hot. The menu identified what drinks were only available hot and the Americano was not among them. I asked what was available cold, and he said, "everything else." Baklovah Bakery & Sweets has so many choices and flavors. Everything looked so tempting, and the baklava was dangerously delicious! I forgot the exact flavors I got, but I remember trying pistachio, Dubai chocolate, and one other flavor. They were all really good. Since I was hungry, I also grabbed a chocolate croissant, which was delicious as well. I forgot to ask them to heat it up, but it was still very enjoyable. On the side, I tried their ice cream, and it was honestly some of the best ice cream I've had in San Antonio. I believe I got pistachio, taro, and coffee on the bottom, and they were all great. At the end, I also got Turkish coffee just out of curiosity. It's not in the picture because I purchased it after I finished my dessert. The coffee was very strong, with a unique flavor that made it fun to try. One small suggestion: the coffee was very very hot and nearly overflowed the small cup, so it might be helpful to add a "cup sleeve", use a slightly bigger cup, or offer an option to make it a bit cooler (adding an ice or two). Overall, this is definitely a cool place to hang out, especially if you enjoy sweets, coffee, and trying different flavors. Highly recommended and will be back for more! read more

Came here on a weekday night and the line was insane!!! Even though it was pretty late at night they still had lots of pastries left. We tried their fruit shaped mousse cakes this time and they taste just as good as it looks. A solid chocolate coffee cup filled with tiramisu that feels elevated and balanced. The cream lands somewhere between classic whipped filling and mousse and it works beautifully. My husband went for the honey and goat cheese ice cream. Bold honey flavor with a gentle tang from the goat cheese that gives it character without overpowering. The best bakery in all of San Antonio! I haven't had a mediocre thing here, it's all been way above average. My go to is the chocolate chip croissant and the cannoli. I'm pretty sure I've had most everything there and we keep coming back every few weeks. You must try the Turkish coffee, you won't be disappointed. I'd suggest getting one of each of the candies because you really need to try it all. The place is always busy but worth the wait! Everything looks clean and organized. I've only been here twice but I'm impressed with their selection of baked goods. Their specialty is Middle Eastern desserts but they have other desserts such as cannoli, napoleons and tres leches cake. I looked at some of the pictures on here and a customer complained about how dry the cake was. So yeah I'm gonna go to a Mexican restaurant or a Mexican bakery for tres leches cake instead of a Middle Eastern one. And I've had cannoli at many pizzerias and Italian restaurants but the ones here at Baklovah are not it. The napoleon was good but messy. Service is friendly but finding a parking spot is a big pain in the butt since they share space with a few Middle Eastern stores and businesses and Pasha and Zaatar restaurants are just within walking distance. read more

I was craving a sweet treat and decided to stroll into Baklovah, I had been here about 3 years ago, it's expanded and they have a lot of employees. Every single employee is super nice, welcoming and informative. The young woman who helped us was super patient, gave us ice cream tastings and always had a nice smile. I decided to try the strawberry Dubai chocolate cup, I wish they had dark chocolate, they only have milk chocolate or white chocolate, it was quite delicious, good selection of strawberries, not enough pistachio cream mix in my humble opinion, but it was very good! My husband got the chocolate croissant, he said it was a bit stale, but the prize of the night was definitely the birds nest! Holy moly, for such a small dessert it packed a lot of flavor! So good! I 100% recommend the birds nest, I would go back just to get the birds nest! While there we decided to meander to their upstairs, where the Silk Road Gallery is its full of antiques, so lovely! I had tried their Baklava and it was decently delicious. Traditional. They had a bread roll that was unique and tasty and surprisingly light in texture. The cream was like a Philly Cheese and not too suit. They had some pastries too that look good like a German Forest Cake and a sleeping chocolate teddy bear and a cake that looks like a pear or apricot. Otherwise just 4 stars. I came here this past weekend with a friend to get some desserts. The place had seating inside and outside and parking space was decent. It was very clean and nice setup where you can walk and see the desserts lined up so you can pick and choose what you want. The people that worked there were really nice and explained some of the desserts to us. Very patient and appreciated them helping us out. First, I found the pricing fair. I was worried I was going to spend too much but with all that I got, it was cheaper than expected. The chocolate chip cannoli was so good and sweet! But I really loved the Dubai chocolate. It was alot sweeter than I expected and loved the crunch it had. I would go back just for that. The baklovah itself was also very good and would recommend trying it for anyone interested. It has a nice sweet crunch to it as well but not tough at all. I absolutely loved the mousse cakes too especially the coffee one I had. This place was amazing! They had such a variety of delicious baklavas and other super vibrant and delicious snacks. My favorite was the spinach and cheese bake not sure the correct name but man even my one year old was tearing it up. They even have a nice selection of ice cream flavors and coffee as well. Some of them I purchased and enjoyed. It was all delicious. Definitely always have to get my Dubai chocolate. The mango mousse has a nice crisp crunch on the outside and the mango mousse has a little bit of mango fruit in the inside. It was so delicious and yummy. The best chocolate cookie. If you have not tried their Biscoff cookie, please get it. It's so good. Their fruit tarts are delicious. I definitely enjoyed the fruit tart that looks like a basket of fruit.
