The Bakery Lorraine at the Pearl is one of my places to spend a slow morning in San Antonio. Even before you walk inside, the atmosphere is part of the experience. The Pearl's beautiful mix of historic architecture and modern design creates the perfect backdrop, and there's no better spot to grab a table, sip a coffee, and enjoy some of the best people-watching in the city. The food never disappoints. The Quiche Lorraine is consistently outstanding! Rich, creamy, perfectly seasoned, with a buttery, flaky crust that somehow manages to be both delicate and substantial. And then there are the macarons. Bakery Lorraine has one of the best selections around, with flavors that range from timeless classics to fun seasonal creations. I have tried this place two times now and unfortunately have not been impressed with the service either time. The first experience was during the morning, I visited just for a coffee and when I ordered I was rushed away so the cashier could attend to a regular behind me...not the best first impression. Today was my second, potentially final, time. I ordered a coffee from their window and when it was brought out to me the cashier slammed my coffee on the table, no greeting or even speaking to me and walked off. At first i didn't know he worked here. The coffee was fine though! Also-- NOT a big deal at all... But when ordering, I noticed that when I asked for a pupcup, the cashier ran it up for "free", then added an "extra" charge to my latte to pay for the pupcup (the cashier explained the charge as mentioned) no problem but something to note if you run into the same thing. read more

Bakery Lorraine was highly recommended when I visited San Antonio, and it definitely lived up to the hype in terms of ambiance, both the interior and exterior. All of the bakery items looked so tempting, but I ended up trying three macarons. They were very good. The filling was more of a light cream, which I actually enjoyed more than a typical jammy filling. The Earl Grey flavor was my favorite! I also had their matcha latte, which was pretty much a standard matcha with agave. The only downside is that food items are a bit on the pricey side, and they're definitely best eaten fresh because the croissant can get hard. I wasn't able to capture the inside of this place this time around, but I always enjoy coming here. This time we grabbed grapefruit tiramisu and a poptart and it was good. Me and my boyfriend were desperately looking for a sweet treat! and on a random Tuesday, we decided to pop into Bakery Lorraine. first off, cute aesthetic! i love that it's in the Pearl.. we love The Pearl! but the service was not so good. Every-time we are in the area we stop in here. I usually get the grilled cheese with tomato soup and my little one gets the turkey pesto with chips. The sandwiches are great but sometimes the toast on the bread is too hard. The desserts are usually fantastic. We always try different desserts not know how they will taste and I have yet to have a terrible one. The hot chocolate is a little bland but the coffee is good. GIve them a try if only for the desserts. The macaroons are always a plus! The environment is nice and welcoming the staff is always super nice. I prefer to sit outside, but inside is nice as well. Went here before hitting the farmer's market and it honestly surprised me how good it was! I got the breakfast plate with avocado as my choice of "meat" and it was amazing. The avocado was fresh (no brown spots like some places), the potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly, eggs were also cooked well and came with sourdough bread! We went to the pearl for the farmers market and decided to walk in here to get a coffee. The restaurant was full of art pieces on of them I knew the artist since his been a big part of the community. Bakery Lorraine at the Pearl is in a wonderful location for breakfast or lunch while visiting the Pearl complex. Their food and baked goods are spectacular, I love to get their chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and pair it with soup. I also take home some treats for later. I highly recommend the cinnamon roll, home made pop tarts, and their amazing macaroons. They offer them in a variety of melt in your mouth flavors. I really like the French cafe decor and the outdoor seating area with the beautiful views of the Pearl Brewery. The lines can get long as it is counter service but the staff moves the line well. Cute French bakery in the Pearl district of restaurants and shops. They have so much good stuff to eat here ! Hard to pick one thing. I took my sweet time finding what I wanted and loved looking at all they had to offer. Great indoor seating also outside available. Lots of people working here , yes this laptop people! It's pretty noisy in here too. You order at the counter and then they bring to your table. I got the pain au chocolat with a cappuccino which I asked for in a real mug since they said they have them. I found the Bakery Lorraine while I was killing time in the Pearl district. I was already caffeinated from enjoying one of the nearby cafés, but decided to grab a snack. I tried the cheesecake which was really interesting. For the most part I enjoyed the slice, but it did taste a little stale. If I went back, I'd probably try something else. Bakery Lorraine is a must when visiting The Pearl! This amazing bakery specializes in French pastries ranging from macaron, cakes, viennoisseries, and breakfast pastries. Besides their amazing pastries, they also have a fabulous breakfast and lunch menu which is a must. Some of my favorite items from their menu are their avocado on toast, BLT sandwich and Cuban sandwich. If you are not that hungry, you can never go wrong with a box of their delicious macaron! Also, if you are looking for some pies for your thanksgiving dinner, make sure to check out Bakery Lorraine! They have some amazing thanksgiving pie options and you can always place your order a couple weeks in advance (I believe that's what is preferred). Last but not least, I really love how Bakery Lorraine partners with different local nonprofits to give back a portion of the sales of a specific baked good to help them. First time to the pearl district and this place looks like a hit! We waited in line for a bit but then decided to order outside from the walk up window. We were only ordering drinks as we had just purchased pastries from the market nearby. We were not in a rush so we had the luxury of taking it all in as we waited for our iced brown sugar lattes.
