I stop in before my nail appointment. I had saw the bakery many times but never went in. I was early so thought I would grab a muffin or something. I was surprised to see the menu by the register. I decided to get a breakfast croissant with egg,bacon and cheese. The sandwich came with a salad with a balsamic vinegar dressing. They both were amazing. The waitress was nice and checked on me to make sure I didn't need anything. This bakery is warm and welcoming with nice decor I will visit again.
This was definitely a nice surprise! I had to wait for my appointment so I found Pan Dulce in close proximity. What a gem! Nestled in the Castle Oaks Village shopping center, it's very inviting from the outside looking in. The bakery is directly in front of you as you walk in. To the left and right are seating with very tasteful arm chairs and a sofa. As an aspiring interior designer, I loved how they played with textures, patterns and colors. There is also outside seating which I enjoyed. The service was so welcoming and the ladies were so friendly as they greet you coming in and leaving out. I ordered a regular Colombian coffee and I didn't need to add anything else! The coffee was robust, aromatic and a clean taste. There wasn't a burnt taste to it, no nasty after taste and fresh! After they brew the coffee, they put it in containers that you are welcome to get refills from. I live downtown but I'm definitely making trips to come back from time to time!
Pan Dulce Bakery & Cafe is the perfect little spot to grab some coffee and chat with friends! I was looking for a place where I could grab a cup of coffee before heading to my next meeting and found them through Yelp. As soon as I stepped inside, the staff welcomed me with a huge smile and asked what I was looking for. There is just something so special about being welcomed with a smile, that automatically makes my experience 10 times better. I told them it was my first time, so they walked me through their entire pastry and coffee menu. I really liked that they offer Colombian and Mexican style coffee. I picked an assorted of pastries to take with me and a colombian coffee. The coffee was super hot, so definitely watch out. All the pastries were delicious and everyone in my family loved them. Can't wait to come back and try some of their empanadas!
This is such a perfect place: delicious coffee, great choice of desserts, amazing decor, very friendly staff, and perfect location. Love love, love. Their café de olla coffee and cheesecake. Many other choices of cakes and coffees. Plus, they also serve lunch. Prices are OK, a bit costly for the cakes, but the coffee is very affordable. It felt good to spurge on dessert. This is definitely a favorite spot.
Was in the area and stopped in for some goodies to take home. The young lady behind the counter was very helpful. The bakery is a decent size with indoor and outdoor seating. I picked up: cherry muffin, pistachio concha, cinnamon roll, and a carrot cake slice. The cherry muffin interesting....wish there was cherries throughout, it was only on top & bottom, but the consistency was more of a cupcake. The pistachio concha was a little dry, but the filling was delicious. The cinnamon roll was perfect. The carrot cake slice was the highlight...definitely enjoyed that it wasn't too sweet and no raisins!
Very clean,very pleasant service the young lady her name is Sara kind of shy but also pleasant this place super nice very relaxing quiet beautiful. They have Colombia coffee and cafe de olla both really good they also have books that you may read wild sipping your coffee,every place that claims have Cuban sandwiches all of them have their own version,this one is good but not close to a Cuban sandwiches. I can't give 5 stars because of the sandwich still the place and the employees deserve the plus
Pan Dulce Bakery and Cafe. 10-30-21. 07/100 Today was a fortunate one because I was finally able to experience this bakery that I've been curious about for years. This cafe is lovely. It is quaintly decorated with theme a la France and has comfortable chairs and tables inside as well as outdoor seating options. There is a coffee bar, a glass chess set and books available to read. The only thing missong to make this truly La Vie en Rose was some light background music. Today we had some breakfast tacos, hot cocoa and a chai to-go but I look forward to returning for one of my favorites...CREPES! They do not offer GF (gluten free) treats. they also do not have decaf coffee. I do wish they were open a little later because we have gone by several times at 3pm because we were nearby and been sad to see them closed. They were super busy but Mariana and Flor were hard at work making everything fresh to order. The hot cocoa was perfect, the chai was super sweet, which is great but if you are no sugar be sure to ask, because I forgot to do that. I am happy to support them so if you are missing the "other coffee shop that used to be here" do give Pan Dulce a try. Thanks Mariana and Flor. L.

Came here for breakfast for the first time because I seemed to drive by this place but never had the chance or forget to stop by and try it out. However, today, was the DAY! Place is very cozy, friendly, and have various board games to keep the whole family entertained. Inside is not too big but they have tables outside. The menu is basically two pages long. Very simple and easy to read. Staff were friendly and answered all my curious questions to their menu. I chose the fresh croissant with over and easy eggs and side salad. They plate didn't fill me up for had me comfortably satisfied. The mango ice tea was also on point (loved the ice circled ice cubs with holes). Overall, tasteful place and will get you comfortably full (without feeling like you ate too much).

The Cuban was delicious! The bread was light and fluffy, the pickles, meat, and cheese combo were just as I expected. I love the tanginess of this sandwich. You can either to have chips or salad with this dish.
Got a selection of baked goods to try a little bit of everything. I thought the brownie and cancha were the best. I was disappointed with the palmiers and empanada. There definitely wasn't enough filling in them. There was another empanada type thing that had chocolate inside and little dark pearl like things on top. I would get those again too. This is San Antonio so would I drive across town to go here no. There is probably a mexican bakery much closer to you. However, if I was near here for another errand I would stop in.

I ordered a blueberry canasta along with a set of four conchas with and without filling. The prices are average to high but as expected for a higher end bakery and cafe. The items looked amazing and I would be confident bringing them to a party or get together with friends. They are beautifully made. I came on a weekday right before their 3pm closing time. The canasta had a delicious blueberry jam and three fresh blueberries. I liked how it was filling and not overly sweet. I didn't care for the breading as much because it was very doughy - but as it is from a dense concha base, it was expected but still a surprise. It definitely feels more like a roll than an airy concha. I didn't mark off stars because it was good but not my preference. The conchas were dense and tasted good. One can easily be a breakfast item because it's quite filling. Some have flavors inserted inside and others are plain with no filling. They offered complementary drip coffee from Katz brewing with my purchase. It might have been a day special or the time of day, that I am unsure. Inside is very cute and suitable to meet up with friends or a get together. 2-4 chairs per table and they are set apart. The ambience and bright and open. read more

You have to understand: C'est La Vie is a bakery that just happens to have free coffee, not a coffee shop that just happens to sell pastries. Big difference! Come in and check out the cases of baked goods, then help yourself to a complimentary cup- they even have flavored syrups. Treat selection includes sweet and savory options, but the croissants are a highlight- the spinach and pesto version is wonderful, they also have a philly cheesesteak version that could serve as your lunch. Fruit pastries and Danishes are beautiful and light, not sugar-laden calorie-bombs. Service is young and polite, plenty of comfortable indoor seating. There are a couple of pet-friendly outdoor tables (and a lot of dog-walkers in this neighborhood). Check the racks to the left of the store for additional baking and gift items for sale. read more
This is such a quaint bakery and coffee shop in the Castle Hills area! I decided to have a quick meeting here and make it a lunch meeting and I was simply blown away by this unique little joint. All of the bread is freshly made here and you're able to see them making it in the back. Be weary their baked goods WILL sell out so if you show up around the late afteroon like I did (more like a big dummy) they selection will be limited but do not let this deter you. Their sandwiches were divine and scrumptious. I really enjoyed the BYOS (build your own sandwich) alongside their set sandwich menu. The bread was so soft and airy I was falling in love at first bite. If you aren't in the mood for a sandwich you can also grab soup, desserts, chips, and more! For those of us who are wifi diggers this place offers complimentary wifi with purchase. The sitting situation is very comfy and I enjoyed the witty board on the side. read more
This is an authentic French restaurant and Bakery. Every time we visit I have to get the chocolate filled croissants and baguettes. We stopped by the other day to eat sandwiches and they were very delicious. This is a hidden gem in the heart of Castle Hills. read more

This is a perfect place to relax and read. The coffee is good. It's not the best coffee in San Antonio but it's still very good and well priced. The bakery makes it great. The breakfast is also delicious. Definitely a place to bring a friend for brunch. This is definitely my favorite coffee shop in San Antonio due to the location, cozy shop, good coffee, and great bakery. The service is also very friendly and they don't hover. They are well mannered and kind. read more

Looking for REALLY REALLY REALLY good bread & croissants? Come to C'est La Vie! You'll find them in the Castle Oaks Village shopping center next to Yoga in Motion. So get your bend and flex on if that's your thing. Then come fuel up at C'est La Vie. Starbucks is a few doors down, but I don't see a reason to go there when these guys have super fresh baked goods and delicious coffee to boot. Jimmy's Egg is also in the same complex. But I don't see a reason to go there either considering C'est La Vie also serves savory pastries and sandwiches. See what I'm getting at? Skip the rest and try the best! Taylor & Eric run this joint and they are super friendly nice guys. They've only been open for about a month. But they are already doing a fantastic job of churning out delicious products. Today's selections: -Croissants: pumpkin, chocolate, almond, honey pecan, apple cinnamon, cranberry pear, plain & simple, cranberry pear, turkey cranberry, spinach pesto -Danish: Mixed berry, pineapple coconut, fresh tomato & pesto, -Monkey Muffin -Cookies: chocolate chip, oatmeal cranberry -Dinner rolls -French bread Taylor said that he is working on getting more equipment & new display cases so that he can offer a larger variety of pastries. He's also planning on adding wall art to spruce up the place. Can't wait to see all the new improvements and of course, try new pastries! This place loses points for something beyond their control - Starbucks. Yep, Starbucks. According to the staff, they are not allowed to serve anything other than hot coffee from those pump-action thermos containers because Starbucks has some type of exclusive domain for the caffeine racket in the neighborhood. So, in order to get their business license C'est La Vie had to agree to not sell coffee drinks. They can't even sell a tea bag and hot water! I like Starbucks but sometimes these big businesses grind my gears! What C'est La Vie lacks in the coffee department they make up for in the pastry department. This place hits it out of the park. They bake up fresh croissants in both savory and sweet varieties as well as various Danish. I tried the honey pecan croissant and it was quite tasty. The outside was nice and flaky as a croissant should be but the inside had a nice tug and chew to it. They also make a variety of croissant sandwiches. Another BIG bonus for C'est La Vie is that they have not one, but two soft leather sofas. One is a full-sized sofa that seats three comfortably and the other is a two seat love sofa. One other thing to mention is the free WiFi despite it running on the slow side of the spectrum. If you're in the mood for some good pastries and savory sandwiches, stop by C'est La Vie. read more

A little neighborhood bakery that has a small menu consisting of breads, croissants, Danishes and scones. They also have a lunch menu (served all day) with sandwiches and soups. There are 2 small tables outside and decent seating inside. I came on a Saturday morning with my friend and her dog before we hit the park. I ordered 2 croissants (pecan and almond) and a bear claw. My friend got a French onion soup. Our server was very friendly, giving me advice on what she thought tasted best and patiently waited while I poured over the display case. I really enjoyed my bear claw. It was flaky but moist and the flavors were totally spot on. I only wish I got it heated. My friend also liked her French onion soup. The best part about this place is the free coffee though. Not your average cheapo coffee but actually very good, hot coffee. For free! There were cute mugs but we opted for to go cups. How nice that they had that available for customers? I enjoyed sitting outside with my friend and her dog, saying hi to each person that walked by. This location is quaint and extremely neighborly. I am looking forward to my next visit to try the scones and cookies. read more

I love this place more and more. Phenomenonal carbs! I've tried (and loved) the blueberry lemon scone (so tender), the croissants (so flaky!), the white sandwich bread (so soft and kid approved), the pecan croissant (so perfectly balanced), the ciabatta (so crusty and yeasty) and the roasted tomato soup. Ambiance is unpretentious and rather plain. Friendly staff. Free hot beverages - fantastic coffee. read more

I've been looking for a cute cozy spot to just have a coffee and a pastry and I finally found it!! The Mexican coffee is delicious, but they have regular coffee if you prefer. The Danish I got was super flaky and the lady at the front is a sweetheart. I am definitely coming back, especially with their punch card reward!! read more
