Stopped in on a Saturday morning (10:30 am) and it was THICK in there. Line almost to the door when I walked in lol I ordered the mango matcha with oatmilk and waited maybe 10 mins for it to be prepared, which isn't bad for the crowd. Mango and matcha go great together and this drink definitely showcased that. Not too sweet, not too bitter. Will be back again whenever I'm in the area and have some time to spare.

The ambiance was very clean, filled with leafy plants and cactus decor that gave off earthy, relaxing vibes. This place is special because of their extensive menu featuring so many unique flavors and options. For instance, they offer horchata milk as a dairy alternative, and distinctive flavors like earl grey and rosemary. I always love finding a place that serves a good London Fog. it's perfect for the morning and a fantastic option for anyone looking for a coffee alternative. I would definitely come back!
Oh my gosh, I'm obsessed with this spot! I just moved, and I was looking for a place to grab a coffee between a meeting and an appointment. I saw the reviews and decided to pop in, and was presently surprised by this little shopping center with plenty of parking! The inside of the shop is beautiful with great lighting, and there's a surprising amount of seating. There's also ample outdoor seating. I ordered an earl grey latte and a tomato rosemary cream danish. My food and drink were prepared quickly, and brought to my table. The latte was the perfect balance of sweetness and herbal flavor. The danish was absolutely delicious!! Flavorful, warm, and the perfect texture. I will definitely be back here!

The shop has plenty of space; it gets crowded sometimes, but the customer flow is always continuously moving. I feel like we come here at least once or twice a week. Hopefully, because they have so many customers, they can lower their prices a bit. Lower prices might even bring them more business! Overall, this place is so good.
I've stopped by early bird so many times before and unfortunately I was turned away by the long line (since I was also on time constraints). Last weekend, I decided to wait in the line and it went by much faster than I thought it would. We ordered the iced cookie butter matcha with an almond croissant. This might've been one of the best almond croissants I've had too, it was flaky on the outside and soft, sweet. I'm for all things cookie butter and this one did NOT disappoint. It was a perfect balance of sweet with still that lovely matcha flavor. I went with a friend who doesn't like matcha and even he was enjoying it. The second time I went is when they were running a matcha promo that they announced on their instagram (definitely follow the there!) and so I went for my midday pickup and there was a small line of about 7 people. It went by pretty fast. We were intrigued by the horchata milk and the employee let us try a bit and we were convinced that was the one. We got the horchata matcha and the banana matcha with banana cream. I definitely loved both of them but if I had to pick a favorite, it would def be that banana matcha. Perfect balance of that real tasting banana flavor (I dislike any of the artificial fruit flavorings) with the well-balanced matcha. The employees were all super friendly as they even encouraged us to ask for modifications after we got our drinks. Overall, i'll definitely be back and I 1000% get the hype now!!
This was a cute little spot. The service was quick and friendly. I also got a blueberry muffin that was yummy. My coffee was a little bitter, but I think that's more my preference on the coffee bean than anything. The coffee was beautiful and the interior was super clean and minimalist. I'm visiting the area but I enjoyed seeing that locals were meeting for coffee with friends and working from the coffee shop. A great mix.
This coffee shop is tucked away in a corner of Huebner Oaks shopping center. It gets busy. There have been several times where I've opted out because you can see how busy it is inside. I did make it on very early one morning and the vibe was peaceful and relaxing. I definitely got my Zen before merging into the morning traffic. I ordered a brown butter pumpkin latte (yes, I'm very late writing this, as this was a seasonal offering I believe) and a cortado. It was before 7 am and I needed the sustenance to go vote. The coffee was nothing short of amazing. The brown butter pumpkin was smooth, creamy, and full of warning spices. The cortado was well balanced and a perfect addition to cut the sweetness of the pumpkin drink. I also thought it was extremely thoughtful that, although my cortado, took a bit to make, the barrista advised that she was having trouble getting a good steam and brought it out once she got it right. And it was perfect. We tried coming in before heading out of town one day, but it was so busy and we were so short on time, we ended up stopping at a coffee cart that was set up down the street. It definitely didn't meet the mark that Early Bird set for me. I'll have to pop in again before my workday starts.

The line moved at a snails pace and then after we ordered we had to wait about 10 more minutes. I enjoyed the drink quite a bit, but I'd suggest going on a day off or when you aren't on a timed schedule, because we ended up being late to work. The tables were all taken with people camping out with computers, so there wasn't anywhere to sit and wait for our order. The person who took our order was incredibly nice and patient with the large crowd. The baristas were quiet and focused trying to get the drinks out as quickly as they could. The pricing is the only thing that might have me skipping this place for another coffee shop. You are looking at $9-10 for a single drink before the tip. Very steep compared to other local shops.

I had the pleasure of returning here! This time I got an iced lavender rosemary matcha with oat milk sweeten, iced vanilla latte, cinnamon croissant and a lemon curd pastry. I loved the matcha. The rosemary and lavender syrup is lovely with the perfect balance of herbal and sweet. The matcha is nice and creamy but not overly sweet. The coffee is pretty solid, not as sweet as some other places which is nice. It's not overly watery either. The lemon curd pastry was fantastic; nice sugary crisp and super flakey and buttery. The lemon curd itself is a smidge overwhelming in tartness but still delicious overall. The cinnamon croissant was my least favorite because it was a bit dry inside. I think they would also benefit from having prices next to the pastries. Service was great still! We went at 8:30 on a Saturday and there was a decent amount of people but we didn't have to wait super long. I was really impressed with the matcha and it's definitely up there in the SATX matcha scene. read more

This is easily the best coffee place in San Antonio. My wife and I always get our coffee here. The service is fast, so you don't have to wait too long. It's great to see "Early Bird Coffee" land in a permanent home after years of serving customers from their food truck near REI. They've brought the same passion and quality to this new space--and elevated it even further. Huebner Oaks has had its ups and downs over the years, but with strong anchors like REI and Old Navy, and now the new Trader Joe's, this destination is clearly going to be on everyone's list of places to go. Early Bird picked the perfect time and place to plant roots. Tucked in the back with easy, free parking, the café has a clean, modern design, a comfortable indoor space, and a charming patio that invites you to linger. The vibe is European espresso bar meets San Antonio cool... complete with skilled baristas who take their craft seriously. (See pic) The cappuccino was nicely crafted, a tough drink to get right, and the blueberry scone hit that rare balance: not too sweet, not too crumbly. Perfect match with the not too sweet cappuccino. Super friendly management and engaging servers. Brought order to table... After years of being a local favorite on wheels, Early Bird Coffee has found a great spot to put down roots. This will definitely be my go-to coffee spot in the new, revived Huebner Oaks scene. read more

This cafe was super cute and very aesthetic! A good place to come for a quick drink or to do some work. The very berry matcha tastes soooo good! Their purées tasted super fresh and the matcha balanced well with the flavors. The iced cookie butter latte was super creamy, highly recommend for anyone who loves biscoff! Early Bird is one of my favorite coffee shops in town. The drinks are always on point (usually I go for a lavender or rosemary oatmilk latte, but lately I've been branching out to their matcha and seasonal specials), and the pastries are fresh and delicious. I love getting here early before the crowd so I can grab a table and just enjoy the cozy vibe. The fresh flowers on every table are such a thoughtful touch and make the space feel extra inviting. I'll be honest--at first, I thought this place looked a little too pretty to produce really good coffee. I was wrong. The coffee was excellent--fresh, smooth, and not bitter at all. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. One thing that really stood out was that they offered to steam my half-and-half to help keep the drink warm. I had never thought of that before, but it made a noticeable difference and is a small touch that sets them apart. I didn't know much about this place but stopped in and learned that they used to have a mobile truck and not own a shop! After looking at the menu, seeing the space, and experiencing their very customer friendly hospitality, I wasn't surprised. They make all of their syrups in house and offer some amazing flavors. Today was so nice out so I went with an iced matcha with water and a little pistachio cold foam on top and it was delicious. I can't wait to visit again and try more. read more

This coffee shop was a wonderful find! The service was exceptional, and the staff took the time to make thoughtful recommendations. I especially appreciated that they asked about my chai preferences, such as whether I wanted it spicier or creamier, which made the experience feel personalized. You can tell they make their flavors in-house because everything tasted fresh and well-crafted. I ordered the iced horchata chai and a strawberry lemonade refresher, and both were absolutely delicious. The almond croissant was also tasty. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with plenty of seating options. There are indoor and outdoor tables that are perfect for small groups, as well as a comfortable couch area for relaxing. The Cookie Butter Iced Latte (with whole milk) had the perfect balance of coffee and sweetness. It wasn't overly sweet and you could still taste the coffee which I appreciated. The strawberry matcha with horchata was also really good and for sure one of the better matchas that I have tried. Their almond butter croissant is a must grab as well! The pastries all looked so good. 2nd time trying this place. Berry Danish was soooo good and had like a berry filling that was delicious. It was flaky and a little messy but I'd definitely get it again. Also tried the cookie butter latte iced, half sweet, which was good, but not the best. I'd want to try a different latte next time. I'd rate the danish a 10/10, and the coffee a 7/10 read more

In the order of what I find most important: Service - I always love asking about the local coffee, roasting methods, etc. the gentleman behind the counter not only eagerly explained but allowed me to sample their drip. I'm a society where service seems to be the first to go, EBC seems to be doing it right. Drink - The drip had great flavor and temperature was good. I will probably go back for a different drink and update after that. Along with service, alternate drink options were offered based on my interests which is always welcomed. Food - Ordered the everything bagel croissant. Very good. Honestly didn't look at the price so can't speak to value but it was a decent size. Tasted excellent. Side note: Outdoor ambiance alone would have me coming here frequently if I lived close by. Great experience. read more

I have been here twice and they do not disappoint. I've had their strawberry matcha and an iced latte. A lot of places do not know how to prepare match properly but this place does! It is a cute atmosphere and awesome customer service. They can have a bit of a wait on weekends but usually they make the drinks quick. read more
Pastries and drinks are consistently delicious. One of my favorite spots for strawberry matcha in town. Sadly, the prices have increased so much that it's ~$9 for a cup before tip. The cozy interior itself is very modern and the decor is beautiful. The owner and staff are also very friendly every time I go. The place is very small though and the place tends to get packed, so if you're looking for a quiet place to study, this might not be the place for you. read more
I was recommended this place by a friend and I was happily surprised by how wonderful the experience was. The store is tucked away in a shopping plaza but the store has outdoor seating and a beautiful interior. I specifically came for the strawberry matcha and the owner working the register was so helpful and suggested their horchata milk to add in the drink and even gave us a sample. The sample was delicious and definitely made the drink even better. The drinks came out quickly maybe about 4-5 minutes. And they were delicious and aesthetic. I also had a berry danish that they warmed up for me, and it came out shortly after the drinks. The staff is so helpful and nice. My friend chatted with the baristas while we enjoyed our drinks. The store was very calm when we went, mostly people with drinks doing work in the store and it seems like a great community they have cultivated at the shop. If I had any criticism it would be I wish they had options for larger drink sizes because, I would gladly order a larger drink. Huge shoutout to Maya,Vika, and the owner for a great experience *They will also remake or fix any drinks that don't reach your satisfaction.* read more
GREAT TASTING COFFEE AND MATCHA!! the croissants just melt in your mouth, definitely a little crumbly. (If you don't like crumbs on you) Strawberry matcha with their special horchata milk made it to the perfect sweetness not overpowering at all. You do have to wait in a bit of a line early morning it seems like everyone loves to go there but it's totally worth the wait , when they take your order they ask questions and make sure you are able to customize your drink to be able to enjoy it. I've been here 3 times already and I think the golden opportunity is to come during the 7am hour. I've had probably 1-2 people in front of me each time, whereas I've heard the line can get extremely long and around the corner during other hours of the morning. Because they make all their drinks to order, and they spend time with each drink, you can expect to wait a little longer for your drink to be made. I don't mind because that just means it's curated to your liking. If you don't like how your drink is made, they can remake it for you, but do you really wanna be that person? I also appreciate that all their syrups are made in house, so you don't get that synthetic fake taste with their drink like at other places. The first time I visited, the barista gave me a little sample cup of my drink to make sure I liked it before he made the full one. I really liked the attention to detail and the customer service! read more

I finally checked out Early Bird after hearing all the hype and it totally lived up to it! I got their piña colada matcha and it was so good super refreshing and the pineapple garnish was so cute It was my first time visiting and even though I went later in the afternoon, the place was packed. The vibe is cozy, they've got tons of coffee and matcha options and alternatives, and pastries too! I've heard the strawberry matcha with horchata milk is a must-try so I'll definitely coming back for that one. read more
Really good coffee but they have limited seating so make sure you get there early! I tried their lavender latte and it was good. I usually don't enjoy lavender much because it is a bit overpowering but I enjoyed the drink. The workers are really nice and gave us recommendations and the inside is super cute with lots of natural lighting, great for working. The tables are quite small so I wouldn't come with more than 2 people if you are planning on working. read more
