My last update in 2019? No, no, this won't do. But what's new to talk about? The coffee is still great, the service is still on point, and the ambiance is still hip, hip, hip. My friend and I met for coffee before having lunch at Noodle Tree next door. I ordered a cinnamon roll, a cortado, and a gingerbread latte. The cinnamon roll, although small, packed a mighty, mighty kick. It had a thick coating of icing, and the cinnamon sugar inside was thick and sweet. The gingerbread latte was sweet and spicy, though the molasses at the bottom of the cup did throw me off. The cortado, though, was magic. I've been tasting cortados across San Antonio lately, and Indy's has absolutely cracked my top 5 out of the 20 I've tasted so far. Excellent temp, not watering, not acidic or bitter. Just smooth and comforting. That first sip sent me sailing over clouds and rainbows. I don't live too far - I need to go back more frequently. read more

I had a vegan taco with nopales. Hear me out if you're not vegan... these are amazing. So much flavor. When I think tacos I'm not thinking vegan, but truly give these a chance. Their cups and inside are so cute! They have a rotating cereal milk latte with different cereal and this time they had strawberry frosted flakes which was so good in the latte! The drinks weren't too too sweet and I also got to try the cookie. I had better cookies before but I would go back for the latte. There is limited seating inside and the tables are quite small so it might not be the best place if you are looking to work with a lot of room. Ordered ahead online since I was next-door eating breakfast. This was my first time ordering from this place. Since the order information said, I was going to get text updates, I waited until the estimated time to go check on my order. I walk over and don't see any cups that look ready for a to go order. Eventually, I ask them about it since it's been quite a while and they say that they don't finish the order until you arrive for it. I wish I would have known that because I did wait a long time and even finished my breakfast before I could get my order. Otherwise, everyone was nice and my drink was good. I tried the hojicha latte. It is an urn roasted green tea. I have never had it. It was pretty good. It wasn't overly sweet. You can customize your order. The coffee shop is cute and has seating inside and outside. There's parking available for free behind the coffee shop in the parking garage. They also sell food, but I didn't get to try it read more

I've been going to Indy since about 2014 when they began in a truck off off of Vance Jackson and Huebner. It's run by some, awesome, humble folk who I have come to love over these many years. The selection is simple and I'm fine with that because their coffee beans are some of the best. There are not a lot of flavor offerings outside of their weekend cereal milk and seasonal flavors like an Old Prospector (one of my favs), so don't expect flavor offerings like Early Bird or one of the other many fun cafes in SA. Their breakfast is also simple and fairly on the healthy side and I love that too because, like true masters, you only need to be good at a few things and they've established that. I still argue the best lattes in town are here, as long as you don't mind not having a lot of flavor offerings and it taking a little time. But all the drinks are delicious and the environment, music, and people that work there will always be my favorite. My recs? I got the hojicha latte($6)! It had a really nice earthy, roasted flavor. It is comparable to the hojicha lattes I tried in Japan! There are a few high table top seating and some couches in the back. I think if you go during peak study hours, it would be hard to find a seat! You can buy the Matcha that they use in the store, but they do not sell the hojicha powder. read more

This is an updated review. *Post covid era* Yhis place has seemed to slow down and with that has perfected its signature lattes like the cereal ones. They have also seemed to change up their beans however this is only based on what I remember how hardcore it used to taste. They seem to have adapted to the college students taste here next to UTSA. The insides of the same as it was back in 2018 or so but the flavors are more fun now while still having coffee good enough for their original clientele. Over a good balance of niche and mainstream flavors profiles. Would give it a 4.5 now however since no .5 can be added I'll update it to 4 start from a 3 (3.5). read more

I arrived to Indy coffee right as they opened (8AM) so I could start my morning off with their iced vanilla cold brew. They do not have dedicated parking so I parked on the side street which is only allowed until 10AM on weekdays. As soon as I got in, the women behind the counter greeted me and asked me what I'd like. Since it was my first time visiting, the woman explained that they used house made vanilla and a dairy free milk in the cold brew so that I knew. My drink was ready to go in just a couple of minutes! I loved how quickly the whole process with. The cold brew itself was delicious! I added a couple of sweeteners to get it to my desired sweetness level and then it was perfect. Inside was a cute and casual vibe - it was well decorated! Overall, this was a place I'd like to visit again but wish they opened a bit earlier (like 6AM), that they had dedicated parking and the prices were a tad lower (they're a bit high). read more

Somewhat busy on a Sunday at 9 am. I was promptly attended to, when I got there. I ordered a mocha and an oatmeal. My friend got some kind of black tea and avocado toast. It should be mentioned that their toast comes with an egg. The latte was very good and so was the oatmeal, the portion of the latter was pretty large (somewhat justified its price). Indy holds a special place in my heart. I went here throughout the length of my undergrad years and still return when I want that feeling of nostalgia. Whether to study, chill, or meet with friends I knew were regulars, this was the hot spot. I usually get the vanilla latte or Dirty Brown, but this past time I got the Sean Pecannery (has shaved pecans on top). Perfect flavors for fall weather. I also got the frequently raved avocado toast, which was a fresh blend of guac, tomato, egg, and feta, minus the crushed red peppers on a bed of sour dough. It was a light but filling brunch meal. I'd give this 2.75 stars. The pros: the coffee was outstanding, and the matcha latte was also quite good. The service member we interacted with was very nice and friendly. Ambiance was casual and clean. Cons: the food. The burrito I ordered was teeny tiny! I almost laughed when it was served. The label also read cilantro but as you can see in the photo, there is no green, and I couldn't taste it. Cilantro is one of my favorite flavors so I was pretty sad. The meat croissant my husband had was mediocre and not filling. Our nanny is Celiac and we found Indy's only got one food offering: oatmeal. Her oatmeal was gloopy and uninspired. I think it would have been better with fresh berries instead of banana, something that adds tang and acidity! I was dismayed at the absence of a baby changing table in the restroom. I had to squat down on the dirty floor to change my baby's diaper. Luckily I brought a changing mat so she didn't touch the ground but it made the task quite difficult, and a little gross. Overall, the highlight was the espresso, and beautiful foam art on top of it. read more

Super cute coffee shop. A little difficult to get to, the front entrance is on the street and no parking. You have to park in/near parking structure, there's another entrance in the back. The place is small and near the college so seating is limited. The coffee selection was small and simple, no foo-foo drinks, just straight up coffee. They had a special drink with cereal milk and that was interesting but came out to be delicious. The person at the cashier was kind and knowledge of the menu.
