The la dolce vida cold brew was hands down the BEST I have ever had! I didn't add any cream or syrups but a splash of half and half would be all you need. The coffee is bright and nutty and sweet with out any sweetener at all.I will be going back to get the beans or whatever it take to get more. Now let's talk about the value. We got two drinks a cold brew and a latte for under $10 with tip. That's unheard of these days! There are other small drive through locations but this is their roast house I guess. You can buy bulk beans and merch. They also have the largest pin ball selection in SA.

We stumbled upon this place and it was quite interesting. There was a pinball tournament when we arrived... so it was a bit hectic of some passionate pinball players. I really liked the variety of coffee beans you can select to make your coffee. I got the cherry, toasted nuts and chocolate flavor. It was good but a sip of that woke me up! We decided to take the recommended coffee beans they recommend for expresso.

Are these considered retro or classic themed pinball machines? ‍

Popped in for a chess meetup but enjoyed the coffee and PINBALL machines! Some machine play ran up to $2 but there were $0.50 per play options as well. Drink a coffee, give the kids a few bucks for the machines and everyone wins.

Iced Shamrock Latte & Hot Chocolate with Almond Milk

They can't make matcha drinks in the slightest, but their other drinks are better. Former coffee shop and specialty tea shop barista here. My fiancé really wanted to give What's Brewing's specialty Spring Menu matcha drink a try despite our abysmal experience last time with their standard Matcha Lattes so we returned to try said drink, the Iced Shamrock, at his request. This drink was better than the last lattes we tried, only because it was actually drinkable. We don't even want to call this a matcha drink because it tasted solely of lavender. All of the flavor was at the bottom of the drink, and even having mixed it better ourselves any flavor that remained was super faint about two thirds through. It was so oversaturated with lavender that the only reason we were able to identify that there was any matcha in this drink whatsoever was its green color. My fiancé gave it two stars. As I was not so confident in their matcha drinks after our last visit, I ordered the Hot Chocolate with Almond Milk figuring it would be a safer option and it did in fact prove to be the better of the two. It came out warm, not hot, so I drank it a little faster than I'd like to have so it wouldn't get cold on me. It was mixed far better than the Iced Shamrock Latte and was really creamy and smooth. As it was made with a darker chocolate it had a pleasant bitterness to it, and the chocolate's sweetness complemented by the natural sweetness of the almond milk gave it a silky richness that paired well with the bitterness for a balance drink. It gets four stars from me. Though I'm a little glad we returned to give other drinks a try I'm still very disappointed by the consistent total failure in the matcha department, especially when I myself use the same brand at home. Their Hot Chocolate was really good and their homemade PopTarts looked really yummy too, so another visit still could be in our future.

What's Brewing is such a fun take on a coffee shop. They roast in-house, which you can view through a window, & you can buy from their plethora of bean selection. They have over 20 different pinball machines you can pick & play from. Their strength is their fun ambiance! However, I was a little disappointed by the lack of latte art & bland taste from their house blend latte. This is a place I would bring my friends who are looking for a fun brunch activity.

$3.25 for a Latte! WHAT?!? Loved What's Brewing? Such a fun vibe. Open space with lots of pinball machines to play. Aside from the pinball machines they have a ton of board games you can choose from. The machines cost $1 and they do have change machines. Lots of seating in the area. I ordered a vanilla latte. I was truly surprised at how cheap it was. I've been to a ton of coffee shops and never only payed $3! Great coffee, great service and great experience! All around fun visit to the coffee shop!

I'd had first heard of What's Brewing several years ago when HEB would sell their coffee. It seems HEB stopped selling their coffee so I had to seek them out to get my coffee directly from them. This place is a fun and hip location to visit. Whether you're after coffee, a snack or both this popular place is where you want to be. They have some fun pinball machines you can play while you're waiting or just want to have fun. The staff is very friendly and courteous. There is a reason this place has such high ratings... excellent coffee, atmosphere and service.

After dropping my husband off at the airport, I had time to kill before a meeting and desperately needed a cup of coffee. The location is surprising because it's in a very industrial area, but they had a steady stream of customers, which speaks to the great coffee and cool place. Not only can younsit and have a fabulous cup of coffee but you can play arcade games. Really unique place.

Great lattes! Good pastries. Lots of cozy couches and seating. Love that you can buy fresh beans by the pound and flavored cold brews to go.

Wow! Some off the best coffees I have ever tasted. The owners take so much care in choosing growers and really knowing where the coffee comes from and the amount of care and effort it takes to produce the highest quality coffees in the world. They buy the coffee beans and then toast to perfection. Tried their CALIMAX from Guatemala as well as their Finca Santa Isabel from El Salvador. Outstanding!

Do they say when the coffee beans are roasted?

Personally I didn't see any roast dates. See my review and see their reply when I asked about roast dates.

The pinball machines are a neat random find at a coffee shop, and the mochas my wife and I got were great!

The added privacy and dedicated server were well worth the extra cost. The food was excellent, and we were having such a great time that I didn't even get a chance to take photos. We ordered a variety of items, starting with the large pepperoni pizza--easily some of the best pepperoni pizza I've had. We also tried a smaller vegetable pizza; the crust on that one was a bit thicker than I prefer, but it still had great flavor. I opted for the blue cheese burger, which was absolutely delicious, and the fries were outstanding. My strawberry lemonade was a bit on the sweet side, but still enjoyable, and everyone really liked their beer on tap. One minor inconvenience was trying to load money onto a game card. The kiosk was out of cards, and I wasn't aware that I needed to go to the bowling desk. I waited about 15 minutes at the front for assistance before learning this, so just a heads-up--if you run into any issues, head straight to the bowling desk. Overall, we had a fantastic time playing games and enjoying the atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.
