Met a friend a friend here for the first time and absolutely loved this place! Walking in, we were warmly welcomed by the girls behind the counter. The first room you enter ...beware ...a large glass display counter that contained home made pastries all made fresh onsite! They even had a few gluten free items. I snatched a gluten free apple streudel and continued onto to the next small room where drinks can be purchased. Found out any drink can be made decaffeinated, sweeet, thank you! Ordered a decaf with oat milk and a few pumps of hazelnut. It was perfect! No after caffeine side effects noted. I also get a glimpse of the kitchen in between the 2 rooms, where all the goodies are made. There are two small indoor rooms with various seating arrangements and seating outdoors. We grabbed a small table for two inside. I thoroughly enjoyed my strudel and coffee. Note: they make and sell their own ground coffee with a special of buy 3 bags and get 1 free. T shirts are available for sale as well. All proceeds from sales goes to local fire and police departments! Come check them out! read more

Super cool coffee shop in this cute town. I came for BBQ, went to the antique shops and saw this place. I love their decor and it is a very patriotic and public safety friendly place. The service and coffee was great! The baked goods looked amazing too. Cool place! Give it a try! read more

Recommend for the coffee. The other drinks and baked goods a bit on the sweet side. But nice that they fit into an old building. It's snug, but comfy. Roasted beans good flavor, not too strong or bitter. read more

Texas Ground has amazing coffee--everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious! But what really makes this place special is the staff. They're always so warm, friendly, and welcoming, and they genuinely make you feel right at home. Great coffee is one thing, but having people who make you look forward to coming back makes all the difference. Definitely my favorite coffee spot! read more

Absolutely loved the Friends pop-up at Texas Grounds Coffee Company! All the little details and names of their pastries and drinks were so cute and nostalgic! The themed drinks were delicious, the atmosphere was cozy and fun, and it made for such a cute outing. You can tell they put a lot of effort into creating the experience. read more

I love to try local coffee shops when I travel and this one crossed my radar from a friend's social media post. I was surprised to see it was right behind B Daddy's BBQ - which I just went to recently. Their signage isn't too obvious so somehow we must have missed it even as I was thinking it'd be a good area for a coffee shop. We ended up using the location as an excuse to go back out in the area and support both businesses. This spot is small but cute, with indoor and outdoor seating and lots of local beans to buy. There's an extensive specialty coffee/latte menu and a case of pastries - we got three different drinks and shared the cream puff. I'm not a big sweets girlie but enjoyed the cream puff more than expected, the added chocolate kept things interesting. Ironically I felt the drinks were too sweet for my liking. My companions seemed to enjoy their drinks though, and service was fast and friendly. read more

I love coffee Top that off with a good pastry and I'm in hog heaven. Texas Grounds Coffee Company delivered. Add to it, on a cool Texas day, a warm place to sit outside or a cozy little room in a house. All I can say is I can't wait to go back. Great food, nice staff and comfy surroundings...another goto for coffee and pastries on my list. read more

Quaint but cozy coffee shop. Their blueberry danish is very good. The coffee is excellent ( I had the Republic blend). For this decaf drinkers, theirs is also very good, based on my wife's opinion as she is very selective regarding the decaf she prefers. Personnel here are extremely friendly, helpful and kind. They have a sample "Table of the Fallen" at the entrance. If you're in this area, definitely try them out. read more

I love a theme coffee and I'm always interested to try around town local coffee shops but this was a miss for my whole order. The iced coffee Oy with the Toffee Already I substituted one with Oat Milk and one with Almond and unfortunately that's all I tasted. It should have had notes of Toffee and butter pecan. The Coffee at Luke's was a faint taste of pumpkin spice. Not sure if they ran out of flavors but I was really excited to taste these menu. Also was here for the cut outs of Gilmore girls. I did call and was informed it would be till the weekend. read more

First time here and I was excited about ice coffee! I saw everyone coming out with "frappe" style coffees. I don't like super sweet drinks so I opted for an ice coffee with sugar free flavor, half and half, and sweet cream on top. My drink has zero coffee flavor and all syrup flavor. I let the barista know I didn't like my drink and just asked for ice coffee with sweet cream on top. It was some what better, but not something I would try again. My friend had a Turtle drink that was yummy and actually had coffee flavor. So my experience is their specialty drinks are better than just a plain ice coffee. read more

First thing I have to mention is how incredibly kind and helpful the staff here was. Absolutely outstanding service. They went out of their way to cater to my dietary needs and had great communication on how to make the drink exactly how I wanted. I'm not picky or anything but wow was it so refreshing! Then the drinks were absolutely lovely! The coffee was very strong and flavorful and their options for popular drinks were amazing! Inside was nice and tidy. Lots of different seating options and nice scenery. This is a great place! read more

Pros- The bakery frequently has gluten free options, they do theme weeks that are fun, and they have great indoor and outdoor seating options. The service is always friendly. Cons- the drinks. If you like good espresso this place might not be for you. The espresso has a sour aftertaste and they used Hersheys syrup for their mocha sauce. Weird- Spent ammo as decor. Bonus- they have bagels! read more

One of my favorite coffee spots in SA. My husband always gets a hot brew and I get whatever iced latte flavor I feel like that day. Their food is good too. Tried TX Grounds for the 1st time. It's out in Helotes where their monthly Market is (NW side). Wow don't be discouraged by their somewhat high prices; their lovingly handmade pastries are twice the size. Their famous cream puff can easily be split between 4 people. It's a cozy hole in the wall cafe with two small rooms for dining and an outside space as well. I saw people studying and working there midday. Variety of specialty coffees with a wide selection of Torani syrups like lavendar. read more

Stopped by Helotes Saturday afternoon and stumbled upon this coffee shop. It's located inside a historic home which has great history. There were plenty of pastries to try. We went with the lemon blueberry Danish which was absolutely delicious! The pastry does come cold I'm not sure if they warm them up upon request. Regardless, we definitely enjoyed. I also ordered a lemonade which I was told was homemade but it didn't taste like it...my cup was also heavily filled with ice which was a real bummer. They have many coffee drinks which maybe I should have tried instead. There are three different lines for pastries, drinks, and payment so be weary of that. Overall, i definitely enjoyed the pastry I ordered and if ever in the area would return. read more

I'm so glad to have found this coffee spot. It's small, but that will not stop me from ever coming back. The ambiance was excellent. It's a cute little coffee shop to come in to get some studying done. As I walked in and to the left of the entrance, I was greeted by tons of pastries. I was amazed at how much there was. They all looked delicious. I was so indecisive, so I ended up ordering more than I should've. But do I regret it? Absolutely. Not. I ended up ordering two lemon blueberry danishes (one to eat right away and the other for my husband), and O.M.G. It was the best danish I have ever had in my life. I wanted to be greedy and eat the one I bought for my husband, but part of me wanted him to try it because he absolutely loves danishes, and well, he's lucky I love him, so I decided to save it for him to try. I also bought my kids a cream puff (holy moly, I was not expecting it to be the size of my head), a triple-layer brownie to try, and I also bought the crumb bun and a sopapilla cheesecake to try later. All were so delicious. I will dream of the lemon blueberry danish until I return for more. It. Was. That. Good. Coffee-wise, I was also indecisive, but ended with an iced toffee pecan, and too be honest, it lacked flavor, so I was a bit disappointed but still drank it, which will not stop me from returning. While I waited for my coffee, I was intrigued to see one of the pastry chefs in action making cream puffs. Super cool to see. I love that they're veteran-owned. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the other pastries and coffee. read more

Saw this place on TikTok & we were not too far from there today SO We went by. The ladies there are lovely, the parking is great, the atmosphere was great even the seating outside. I wanted to love this place, but l'm gonna be honest... I wanted something caramel. The coffee wasn't as good as thought. For MY taste. wanted, stronger coffee. It was decent, the taste wasn't bad, but it just didn't get no taste of caramel. It just wasn't as strong as I prefer. There was a graininess to it, which that happens if you order Almost milk. But I had oat milk. I went home & added 2 shots of Expresso. My husband didn't like his coffee unfortunately. I'm not going to leave a bad rating of stars. Because I thought the girls were super friendly, nice & helpful. They gave a suggestion when I said I liked caramel. But it just didn't hit me right. Good luck to them though. We wanted to support a small business & did. read more

Their coffee is okay, but nothing spectacular. The breakfast sandwiches are so-so. We had the sausage and cheese breakfast sandwich, and the ham and cheese breakfast sandwich. The bread that surrounded each sandwich was very good and very flaky, almost like a croissant. But the innards left much to be desired. The sausage one had two standard grocery store breakfast links and the cheese was just so-so. The ham in the other one was just so-so. It was tasty and filling but definitely not worth $5.50 each (I'd go with an Egg McMuffin over it any time - really). If you go here, just order their delightful bakery items. Skip the coffee and the breakfast sandwiches. The seating inside is very limited and can get crowded, but there is plenty of room outside when the weather is nice. Stay away from the breakfast sandwiches, but make sure you try their blueberry Danish. It is VERY good. Their customer service was excellent and earned them another star. read more

Yup Yup Yup! Has THE BEST sweets in south TX. If you're in San Antonio, you owe it to yourself to visit this place in Old Town Helotes. Cream Puffs the size of your fist - nuff said. See my pic! Service = Great. Attentive. Quick. Accurate. Variety = Something for everyone, including gluten free. And a big selection of coffee too, some I've not seen anywhere else. Taste = I mean, C'mon. Soooo Gooood. More please. I'm salivating now, and I just ate there! Historic = oldest standing building in Helotes. Look at the photos on the wall. I think they do a bed n breakfast too. Supports Military and Veterans. They have a table with a folded American flag and description of the "white table." See my photo. Ships in the U.S. Yes, Check. This business just opened a second location so eventually I'll get there, but this place has so much going for it. Just read the other positive reviews! read more

I came here with high hopes and boy when I tell you they surpassed my expectations' all of the pastries they have are amazing!!! Not to even mention how lovely the staff is, oh and also get the cream puff...I know it looks like it's gonna hurt you...but it's worth it 5 stars read more

This place is great if it's what's you're looking for. Caffeine with plenty of flavor options and high volume. If you're looking for true craft coffee, this ain't it. That's okay. I give it three stars because it's not what I'm looking for. Also, it's a great spot for the ultra conservative. Again, if that's what you're looking for. Couldn't imagine anyone voting blue feeling super comfortable in there. Their baked items looked awesome. I've met the owners and they were very kind. read more

Stellar. The ambiance adds to the enjoyment of the coffee. Plenty of selections to choose from.

The people here seem very nice, however the product is awful. None of the beans for sale have a roast date on them, so I am unable to tell if they were roasted in the last few days and need a few more to off gas, nor could I tell if they were too stale to buy. The "medium roast" is so dark that the beans are oily. I also ordered a drink when I was there, and they served me the worst one I've gotten this side of an airport vending machine. They serve "double shots" of espresso that are 4 oz in volume, and are watery and bitter. The shot I extracted at home wasn't too much better as the coffee is over-roasted. I won't be back. read more

First timer here, definitely was a good choice. First and foremost the owners there are so WELCOMING it is amazing, they tell you about the building and the coffee you can just tell they take so much pride in their shop and I love it. It was nice and quiet when you first walk in you see the pastries and next to that is the room to order your beverage. I had ordered the Samoan coffee and it was so good literally tasted like the Girl Scouts good and I do order there giant pastry puff and oh my lord it was soo good the chocolate on top was definitely giving delicious sweet chocolate and the filling I could just eat by its self lets me honest. But my overall experience was amazing, can't wait to come back and get another puff. read more
