Discovered this chain in Fort Worth and we were so excited when we came across them in San Antonio ! Each one is slightly different . This one serves up ALL vegan pastries , coffee cakes , vegan pop tarts and they've got empanadas ... like whaaaat?!! This time I opted for my usual UNSWEETENED matcha latte with almond milk . I LOVE SUMMER MOON! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this one yet. Ever since a family member told me about this place about 8 years ago I've been obsessed. I always come back here. The coffee is just ridiculously good. The flavors are so good and incomparable to other coffee shops everything tastes so fresh and rich. The stores are always so cozy and inviting on the inside. Amazing vibes for studying or just taking a time to get away. A great third place. On top of all this the staff is always absolutely kind and work quickly, effectively, and consistently. 10/10 I hope everyone can experience this place in their life time. read more

This place was super super cute! The drinks are great as always. I didn't take any pictures because I left kinda bummed but my boyfriend got a Java Chip Moon Glacier and I got a 1/4 wintermoon. The barista was kind and helpful. The reason I left bummed was because they don't use the reward system/ the app in San Antonio! I realize it's a franchise but almost all the summermoon's except the city of San Antonio uses the rewards/ app- how dumb is that?! Very disappointed in all the owners of the Summermoon franchise here in SA. Anytime I want Summermoon I'm just going to wait until I go to Austin at this point. read more

The service was great, my coffee tasted fantastic and the vibes of the place is friendly and inviting. They have plenty of seating if you feel like lounging getting some work done, but they have a drive through as well if you are in a rush. read more

Came here with a friend recently and had a good experience. The inside was clean and had plenty of seats available. Thankfully we didn't have to wait long to place an order and the lady in front was very nice. She gave some recommendations and also confirmed a few things to make sure my friend didn't get sick (she has a glutten allergy). The coffees themselves were good. I had a matcha latte which was delicious and not overpowering at all. My friend had a regular coffee which she said she loved. I also did get a bean and cheese taco but I didn't really care for it. Seems they maybe pre-made the tacos or ordered them somewhere but wasn't a fan. Despite that, the drinks were good at least and if I happen to be in the area again I would consider coming back. read more

The atmosphere here is so warm and cozy! That's the first thing I noticed walking in. This is deff a place for a good coffee and a nice long talk with a friend. I noticed they have board games too near some seating areas. The cashier was super friendly and gave great recommendations. I tried a half sweet moon coffee. Whatever they put in that drink is so good! It's like a hug in a cup. My friend ordered a matcha latte which we loved. read more

Coffee Shop No. 510 Summer Moon Oak Roaster Coffee San Antonio, TX June 10, 2025 Moments after leaving my hotel, I wandered into Plaza de Las Islas Canarias and struck up a conversation with Miguel, an older gentleman relaxing at one of the plaza's bistro tables. When I told him I planned to hit five coffee shops before lunch, he laughed and called me a "nut," then texted his granddaughter -- a fellow coffee fanatic. Her reply was instant: "Go to Summer Moon and get a Winter Moon Latte." Later, the owner at Jacob's Bear Coffee gave me the same recommendation. While savoring their smooth cortado, I ordered an Uber straight to Summer Moon in the Tobin Hill neighborhood. At the counter, I told the barista two different people had sent me their way. His proud smile said it all as he explained their beans are oak-roasted and their drinks made with a house-made sweet cream called Moon Milk. Naturally, I ordered both a cortado and a Half Winter Moon Latte. The cortado was solid, but that latte... wow. I rarely order iced lattes, yet this one was rich, smooth, and unforgettable. Came to Summer Moon Coffee for the first time today. The drive thru line was pretty long which is always a good sign. Went inside to check it out and the atmosphere was like what you would expect a coffee shop to be. They had coffee grounds/beans, their house milk you can buy, and also shirts. They have pastries which we didn't try. The barista Maritza was very nice and helpful she offered to let us try their milk to see how sweet it is. They have multiple options. read more

The signature moon milk is delicious! And the workers are always very nice. But the inside it a bit cramped and hard to find a seat to study. The drive thru is 50/50 it can be super quick or there's a long line and you have to wait 20min. The prices have also increased immensely the past few years :/ read more

Love the coffee here but mostly come for the warmed up cinnamon rolls! That's where it's at! My go to order 16oz. iced half winter moon with caramel drizzle! The workers are always so helpful just in case you aren't sure what to order! The place is a bit small but their drive thru is pretty quick! There is also seating outside. read more

PERFECTION.... I am a chai tea person. I asked about their Moon Chai and I have been obsessed. They have a drive thru so you can easily feed your addiction like me! I have been to Summer Moon Coffee numerous times now. I believe my favorite flavor of coffee is their summer moon (velvet blaze coffee with milk). They roast their own coffee, and each has a unique (rich yet smooth) flavor. They change the drinks to complement the season but have a consistent quality. The location that I frequent is usually very busy. With that said, I have always been able to find a seat in which to enjoy my coffee. Prices are similar if not slightly better than the international chain with the green mermaid. read more

We go every Sunday. Hands down the best coffee I've ever had - if you've never been, you NEED to try it at least once. You'll be hooked after. Their moon milk changes the entire texture and flavor profile. Their pastries are devine, especially the lemon poppyseed, blueberry, and banana nut! We like their muffins, too - super big and moist (we just prefer breads) Over Christmas they had these super cute water bottles. They were sold out before I bought one, but the shift supervisor included one with their inventory order for me so I could get it! read more

We have always gone too the Summer Moon on St. Mary's & have never had a bad experience. I do not recommend this location on Culebra Rd . We ordered one summer moon with Carmel & one winter moon iced americano. The summer moon was extremely bitter ( never experienced this at a summer moon in my life ) & the winter moon was served as a summer moon . We spent almost $14. 00 on some bitter coffee & a messed up order . I think they were using old coffee because we went to Valero & bought a cup of ice & poured my husbands coffee into the ice & his cup was lined with really black residue , his coffee was bitter too . We live in Converse & drove over here too try them out, big mistake will stick too the St. Mary's Location . read more

Location is slightly busy, which is good. The indoor ambiance is very cozy. I didn't try the food but their blue moon (which contains a hint of lavender) was sweet and divine. Upon receiving, the temperature was hot, so be careful if driving. Cashier was excellent in helping me find which coffee choice would fit my likes. All in all great experience! read more

HOLY SHIT THIS COFFEE IS BEYOND PHENOMENAL I'm a coffee fanatic and have worked in the coffee industry for almost 10 years so I've become quite picky on my brews. And this place? Oh my gosh. Literally could've died when I took my first sip. I got a 16 oz iced mocha moon with vanilla added and my friend got an dirty ice chai with horchata And both of them are BEYOND PHENOMENAL! The first sip was so smooth. Not overly sweet. The espresso wasn't burnt. And we didn't even wait 5 minutes for our drinks after ordering. The place is quaint and cozy. The scones here are really good; but, you have to go early or they sell out of the good ones. They are more cake like than scone. My favorite is the carrot cake one. They were out of those, so I ordered a cinnamon roll. It was way too sugary sweet--not just the topping as one would expect--all of it. The servers at the drive through are always nice. The down side is they are pretty pricey. read more

I love their coffee but haven't had their food options yet. The prices are a little higher than other coffee shops but they have their own milk recipes which is unique. The baristas are always so welcoming and helpful when I'm wanting to try something new. Their bathrooms are clean and seating options are great! The chairs are a little uncomfortable if you're wanting for sit for a while. Edit: Removing 2 stars because the WiFi is extremely slow to the point that I couldn't load a page and had to use my hotspot. read more

First, I have to admit that I don't drink coffee. I know I know. How do I survive? I still wanted to check this place out so I took a few friends with me and waited in the long line. It was 11 AM in both drive-through and inside had long lines on a Saturday. I can tell it is very popular. I had one of their summer drink instead of coffee. It is supposed to be a blend of their lemonade and moon milk. It was pretty good. My friends all had different drinks and they all liked theirs. I was hungry and was hoping to be able to get a sandwich, but they didn't have any when that day. I ordered a plain bagel, but they ended up not having it either, so I opted for the next savory one which was the jalapeño. Big mistake. I can't handle heat and it was too spicy for me. The coffee shop is small with only a handful of tables and chairs. We were able to get a table and sit down since most people were taking their drinks to go. They also sell other stuff like candles and shirts. They have coffee beans to go too. Parking is tricky especially when they're super busy. They share it with other businesses. read more

Sooooo Last night something strange happened to me ...I came down with the GOT HAVE ME A CINNAMON ROLL ATTACK thus began search for a NICE....HOT.....MOIST ROLL.... This morning I found myself leaving early to this place called Summer Moon....I thought the name was snappy and cute so why not right....I left out before the sun could peak his head in and blind my vision..and YES I was excited to be heading there... The place is located near some new new places so I will be sampling some items VERY soon! It s cute little coffee shop that had a drive-thru which was PERFECT because I didnt have very much time! The menu is based off of different moons ..so its summer moon...half a moon...mocha moon and so forth.... I ordered a 3/4 moon along with....you guess it (2) CINNAMON ROLLS... not the drink was just ok...I mean I am a coffee kind of girl...NO!!!!! I AM A COFEE TYPE OF GIRL lol...so this screamed drink with milk and sugar...it just didnt hit my spot...BUT I wasnt terribly disappointed because lets not forget...my HEART WAS ON A CINNAMON ROLL BABY!!! so lets go I get home and noticed they were a bit on the hard side..no worries thats what microwave is 4 right? Well I did 20 seconds and it was still a bit hard so I did another 10..Sadly they were still a bit doughy..but I said let me keep eating...it was ok but I guess I just wasnt overly enthusiastic...I am actually sad because I was REALLY looking forward to this and drove out my way to sit in traffic for my Friday yumminess and it just didnt live up to that...I will say this is actually the first time out of ALL the little coffee places I have been that it wasnt what I hoped it would be...maybe with a little time the review will be better...Summer Moon Coffee you have a lot of potential...I truly love the name! read more

Got a few drinks and there chocolate croissant everything was great and balanced, only reason I knocked off 2 stars was due to them selling me bad moon milk the one you can purchase to take home, the label read exp 11/22 was told it was still good when I questioned them we'll I got home and it was like cottage cheese. read more

The best iced mocha latte in town and among the top 5 I've had. My only gripe with the store is the "moon milk" which is cloyingly sweet and if you don't specify "normal" milk they automatically put moon milk in the drink. Employees are friendly and there is a mix of table seating and comfy chairs. read more

Place: The exterior and interior design was on point. As soon as we went inside we have experienced right away the place. It was full of designs and their products that's enticed us. Service: The crew was so accommodating and you can feel that they love what they're doing. Menu: We love their menu, it's variety and none of it yet that we didn't like. Their cinnamon bun and muffin was really good. We went here two days in a row and we were always excited to order and taste. We loved our experience and this will be our new cafe! read more

First off I'm a big coffee lover and if I can find new places to fall in love with coffee I will. My mom kept taking about this place for the past week. So I came to see what the hype was all about! Absolutely love it!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful when asking questions. There moon milk is amazing. The moon milk is very sweet so depending on how sweet you want your drink u get full,half or quarter. I got a quarter moon because I'm not a big fan of sweet sweet coffee, and it was just right. We were in search for a quaint coffee shop we could sit and enjoy a latte. Found this place and it was open til 8pm. it was only 530pm so we took a drive. We found it and parked. A couple of cars and it looked closed. As we approached everything looked dark inside. We tried the door, it was open. Upon entering we noticed all the chairs up on the tables and all the lights 'were' off. 1 person was waiting for their order. I looked at the clock and it said 7:40, and asked if that time was correct (which would've explained the state of things) no clock was just down. We ordered, got our drinks and found 2 seats at the back of the cafe. Others showed up and took down chairs to sit. A few others showed up too. Started looking livelier. All n all the whole 'trying' to looked closed didn't seem to work as the place got busier. Latte's and pop tarts did the trick, not too shabby. read more

Been supporting this business for over a year and this morning I ordered 2 drinks. Asked for a drink carrier & the gal at the drive thru denied me a drink carrier bc "they are for customers who order 3 or more drinks" she said. In a polite way she basically told me that since I have 2 hands I can carry 2 drinks. She's absolutely correct - but I thought it was about the convenience and a pleasant customer experience. Welp, so much for that‍. I would've even paid a few cents for the carrier. It's all good tho - @Starbucks gives me those 2-drink carriers made to carry only 2 drinks. They definitely have some work to make this a comfortable dining experience but I wouldn't let it stop you from trying some phenomenal Vietnamese food.

As I walked into this establishment my first thought was, exquisite. The atmosphere and design of the entire coffee shop is without a doubt, exquisite! It is beautiful and welcoming, and I felt happy just being there. I was not only greeted promptly by management, but also by every barista working that day. I could tell right away that each employee cared about me, and that is something very rare to find. I ordered a Quarter Moon Latte with four shots of espresso, and was completely amazed at how perfectly delicious this drink was! Scott and Rhonda Crocker the owners of Summer Moon Coffee Bar came over to greet me, along with Candice, the manager. I have never felt this welcomed at any other business, and I have never tasted coffee so phenomenal. The coffee here is amazing, definitely a different taste compared to your big chain coffee shops . The people are friendly and offer great recommendations as well as drink descriptions. The Half Moon Latte is the drink I normally get which is latte made with their own special milk.
