A fun place for a group, with a pretty good selection of tasty craft beers (so I was told by others in my group), and a broad food menu with a lot of vegetarian options. However, the food items I got were hit or miss. My black lean & sweet potato burger was big and had good sauces on it, but the burger itself was fairly bland. For some reason, they don't put much salt at all on the fries. Everyone was pouring extra salt on theirs. The seafood cakes were a hit. They had a good spicy aioli on top, were crisply fried, and the seafood cake itself wasn't just bland fish but had a good flavor The maple, sweet potato cheesecake was very good. We came to Trinity on a Saturday night not quite knowing what to expect. It was about a five minute walk from the Providence Place mall and from first glance from across the street, we couldn't really tell if it was open since there was no lit signage on the outside of the establishment. However, we saw people inside and we figured we were on to something. We were seated in the downstairs bar area. It was loud, dark, and oh yeah, did I say loud already? Between a large table (with lots of kids!!), a pool table, the bar, and the obnoxious drunk girls next to us, we contemplated leaving once. Our server was the only server assigned downstairs and he was doing everything he could considering how many people were downstairs and that the hostess kept double- and triple-seating him. It took about 15 minutes by the time we were seated to the time our drinks arrived. Fortunately, the food didn't take that long once ordered. The beer was actually really good and it was quite surprising considering you would have never thought of it just from the looks of the place. I had the Belgium beer which tasted like a Stella Artois. And it came in a 22 oz. glass! (Guess who didn't have to drive back to Boston) Hubs had the pear cider that he said was really good. I had the Cobb salad wrap which was definitely more than filling. Hubs had a chicken caesar wrap that he said was nothing special. However, both meals were served with hand cut beach fries. And our server even offered malt vinegar for the fries. Even better. The food was nothing special, but the portions were huge for the cost. For the cider (a pint), a 22 oz. beer, and two wraps, our bill was $32 and change. That's a cheap night for Saturday standards. However, the service left a lot to be desired. The hostess appeared lost (or high, or maybe both?) and our server was running around the entire time doing everything he could to keep the downstairs together. Had a party in connection with an industry event. Trinity arranged for us to be in the private basement area, which had its own bar and pool table, and was the right size for about 30-40 people. I have been to Trinity several times for trivia. Their beers are outstanding... several options from Pilsner and Ales to Stouts. Pub decor and ambiance is nice, lots of wood, large bar area, etc. The food is just average. I have tried many items from their menu and for me, the best options are the pizzas and the nachos (pulled pork). The latter is not great, but is the best among the other menu choices. Today, I got the nachos and the chips were a bit burnt, not much cheese, lots of black beans....not the best nacho platter in the city, but one of the best options from the Trinity menu. read more

Chill spot that's 2 stories. They have a pool table downstairs, where more people hang out at. I got a glass of Riesling and they have a good amount of beer to choose from. I've been to Trinity a handful of times with groups of friends and it's always a relaxed, chill time. Atmosphere- We've usually spent the night upstairs which is pretty open with high ceilings- I'm a fan of the setup because you can actually hear what your friends are saying over some solid beers. There are booths, tables, bar seating. Space is rarely an issue, from the times that I've found myself there. I've been downstairs for events in the past and it seemed accommodating for large groups Food/Beer- Solid selection of brews. I usually go for the Captain America. I've only ordered the wings and trinity nachos with pulled pork. Wings were ok- the Monday night we went (1/2 off), the special "secret sauce" was ... smoky Buffalo sauce. Tasted like a sweeter buffalo sauce, almost like a mix of Buffalo and BBQ. Hit the spot but wasn't anything special. Trinity nachos with pulled pork are regrettably good. It's just a monster of a dish. More than enough for several people to share- an order comes with a huge plate of deep fried corn tortillas piled high with black beans, sour cream, cheddar, tomatoes, lettuce, salsa, and - go big .. - pulled pork. Very generous portion and you'll probably continue eating it long after you're full. You've been warned. It's regrettably good. Service- always friendly, though I've noticed they tend to be on the slower side. read more

Trinity Brewhouse is pretty fun place as evident by the crowds swarming the bar. My friends and I were still able to get seated at the booth for dinner (no reservations necessary). As a brewery, they have an extensive list of beers from ales to stouts and even sell their award winning beers in jugs. (Check out the jugs on display near the entrance!) I tried their Red Devils on tap, which was a 2015 Gold Medal Winner in Rhode Island's International Beer Festival. I'm not a beer connoisseur as I hardly drink them but this one went down smooth and reminded me of a lighter Stella Artois with some hints of fruit. I liked it a lot! Service was friendly and they have great burgers and fries as well. The decor is wooden with some pretty clever murals. Great ambience especially for a pub-feel. There is also a pool table in the basement. Because there are tables next to it, there's no playing during dinner hours. It would be pretty cool if they were able to switch up the layout a little bit. read more

This review is based off of the watermelon margarita or shall I say margaritas that I had the pleasure of drinking this evening. I attended the Food Truck Friday event tonight at the carousel village at the Roger Williams Park Zoo and it was spectacular. But what was even better than that was the watermelon margarita at the trinity brewhouse tent. The beer they had on tap was delicious but those margs... oh those margs... Delicious, crisp, fresh, cold... all things that come to mind. I will definitely be back for those! Delicious! read more

For a weekend night, there wasn't many people inside although we could have just caught it on an off night. The people who were inside were friendly and talkative including the bartender who helped us figure out which beers we'd like. We spent about 45 minutes/an hour here. Typical brewery/pub food but it's all executed well. We often buy growlers here as presents and they are always a big hit. It's cool seeing the giant beer tanks right in there as well. The restaurant service has never been slow or inattentive, we come here pretty often on different days and times and have not had a bad experience. You call these fries?!?!?? Literally, the worst sweet potato fries I've ever had (See pic below). They were limp, cold, drenched in disgusting grease, then sprinkled w/salt. I feel like they were taken out of a bag in the freezer, dumped into a fry-a-lator, left out sitting on the counter for say, 2days, then served. 30cent wings on Monday (only 5-11p btw) is a good deal. But the chicken wings were mediocre. Fried well but I like boneheads in Warwick so much better. I could taste the sub-par quality of the chicken. My eating partner had the 6oz burger which wasn't cheap, the meat was cooked medium rare (which is exactly what we wanted). If you get a 6 ounce or 10 ounce burger the bread size is probably the same so if you get a small burger, you are going to be tasting a lot more bread. But let's cut to the chase, this place is a brewery and I got to say the beer is also mediocre at best. I had the Miami Weiss which tasted similar to Bluemoon. my eating partner had the Kolsch which was similar to maybe Fosters or any Generic Brown ale. If it comes to microbrews in RI, Brutopia was much better. The worst part: the beer wasn't cold enough & wasn't served in a chilled glass. If the shining star of the place is beer, serve it like ur serious about it. The place is dark, kinda dive-y. Not enough TVs. Parking is also a hassle in downtown. If I had to pay for parking for mediocre meal, I would've been even more disappointed. Btw, The garage next to the place closes at 10 PM. So get your car out! The only thing not mediocre about this place was the service. The waitress was prompt, nice and friendly. No complaints on the service here. We told the management about the fries, and it was received relatively well. They were nice enough to comp the fries off our check. Which was really nice of them. They didn't have to do that. And let's face it, it was a $20-ish meal. They didn't destroy my wallet. But I left a little disappointed in my meal, I gotta be honest. read more

I haven't eaten there in a long time but it's been a staple of mine for solid craft beers. Parking is a little tricky but if it's earlier in the day street parking is abundant. Trinity has a decent sized bar with plenty of room for everyone to sit. It's a cozy atmosphere. The bartenders are all super friendly and knowledgeable about the brews. If you are unsure what you want they can recommend one for you. A sample rack is the way to go so you can try a few different options. They have everything from stouts to iPas to imperials. It's been around for a long time and there's a reason for that. Any beer geek around should definetly go check it out. And bring me with you. ! read more

Avoid this place like the plague (unless you want to get it)........ I popped in for a couple of beers with a friend. The bartender was so busy having her own good time with her friends at one end we waited almost 10 mins for her to come take our beer order. *on a positive note the beers we had were really good*. I've been around the block a few times and I know the smell of mouse urine and decaying mice. I kept getting wiffs of it. I looked at some other reviews and mice are mentioned by others...... Perhaps it's a smell similar from the brewing stuff. I don't know for sure but I know that smell. We immediately decided to drink our beers and eat elsewhere. Before leaving, I hit the men's room. Holy cow!!!! The smell and condition of that bathroom was DISGUSTING. If they can't keep the front of the house sanitary, I can't imagine the kitchen!!! I don't know how food establishments are monitored in Providence but when was the last time the health dept was there??? I didn't look for or see one of those signs i have in my state that gives them a grade etc. fortunately, I didn't get the plague. Nor will I ever go back to take that chance!!!! There are a few places that lock in time. The 1970s is alive and well at Trinity Brewhouse, a throwback to the days of Dillon and Denang. The food is good, with great burgers, pizza, and even a few veggie dishes for the beer enthusiast without full carnivore tendencies. The service was great for lunch. Trinity Brewhouse was on the list of recommended restaurants that my hotel supplied. On my first evening's walk through downtown, I stumbled over the Trinity Repertory Theatre. Somehow, I'd not immediately put two-and-two together: that the Brewhouse adjoins the theatre (along the rear wall). So, of course, I ate there before the Sunday matinee. Service was good, as was the ambience: lively, but not noisy or obtrusive. The waitress was attentive. The downside is that I was there for lunch rather than dinner, and that's when some of the most interesting selections are available (after 4.00), e.g., the Wild Boar Sausage Platter. They have quite the interesting variety of burgers -- including a Vegan Sweet Potato and Black Bean Burger -- and standard pub things like Fish and Chips, but I wasn't sure either of those was a great idea before a three-hour show. So I settled for a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, which was tasty, but not exactly special. I'll try it again on another visit -- preferably in the evening. read more

The beer at Trinity is really great. They have a greater variety than you might expect or imagine. Two of their tap beers (Screaming Viking and Captain America) are two memorable beers; both had a really unique taste and super drinkable. The bartender was super informative and nice, making recommendations and answering any questions we had about the beers. The beers were also very reasonably priced. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crowded but it wasn't dead, which is nearly the perfect environment for day drinking on Sunday. The overall vibe of the bar is super casual and relaxing. We didn't order any food, but the portion sizes looked good and the menu was basic pub fare -- though fairly extensive, so trying the food will definitely be on the docket the next time I'm there! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I could. I ate at some many great places in Boston and the first place I try in Rhode Island was absolutely GARBAGE. I guess there was a convention in Providence. That is no excuse for the piss poor service we received. My first hang up is the hour we waited for our food. I understand your restaurant may be understaff, but the respectable thing to do is tell people. That will would have allowed me the opportunity to choose whether I want to wait or not. We actually watched people that was seated before us leave without their meal. That should've been a sign. I decided to tell the waiter that we would like the check for our drinks and cancel the order and suddenly our order was ready. The wife ordered the pizza and it was horrible. The crust was hard and the ingredients look like they were just thrown on with no care about the presentation. My MIL and I ordered the lobster cakes with fries and they were horrible. The lobster cake was more of a rice cake with a piece of lobster on top. I thought the fries were seasoned fries based on how it looked on other patrons plates. Wrong, they were just burned fries. The best part of the meal was the water with lemon. The waitress took of 15% from our bill because she knew her service was horrible and I gave her a 10% tip because people think that Blacks don't tip. She didn't deserve it though. read more

Was in the area for a play and wanted to check out the beer selection and have some dinner. They are known for making their own beer and offer quite a variety. I chose one of the IPAs, it was good, nothing amazing but I do try a lot of beer so I may be pickier than most. We ordered the nachos which were very good, lots of toppings, crispy, and just overall flavorful. We ordered the Rueben and the pulled pork sandwich, both with salads. The Ruben was pretty good, the waitress said they make the corned beef there. Again nothing amazing, I wouldn't order it again but it was fine. The pulled pork sandwich lacked flavor and was pretty fatty, she didn't eat most of it. But the side salad tasted fresh. So overall the experience was ok, probably won't return but the nachos are where it's at so maybe order those and some beers and sit at the bar because the booths are really worn and should be replaced. read more

ok so first of all if you're attending an event in downtown Providence this is a very good spot for gathering, not huge but you'll find plenty of seats (booths and tables). The next best thing about this spot is the brew, delicious, of course brewed on site, one of my favs is the Imperial stout my problem is they don't often have it, out of the half a dozen times I've been in they've had it once...."COME ON" brewers get it together. I've gone just me and a bro and also have been with a group of 4, this is your basic pub menu, a little variety something to appeal to all but nothing that will knock your socks off. I like the burgers here, the apps I'd stick to the loaded nachos, I've had the tips (average), fish and chips (solid), and Salmon.....stick to the burgers and one of their brewed beers you'll be happy. read more

The stars are basically all for the beer and servers. The food isn't anything necessarily to write home about, but I've also only really had nachos and burger here, so I don't want to comment too much on the food. They do have quite a selection on the menu, I'm just always right before a concert or event, so not typically looking to have a bit sit down meal. The beer on the other hand is amazing! I had the Viking last night, and I wish I could've brought it into the concert with me instead of settling for some other beer. I've tried a few of their beers now, and the price is right, the taste is better, and it keeps me wanting to come back for more! The service is always top notch, and extremely friendly/knowledgeable! We came in kind of late but were seated and treated well; service was very good! We ordered a pizza and the risotto lobster cakes. The lobster cakes were pretty good, tender with claw meat on top, I think. The pizza was over sauced and over cheesed, so it was kind of a big floppy mess (it is a pretty large pie, enough for two). Both dishes had a cloying balsamic reduction on them, dating from approximately 1999 or 2002, maybe. I recommend asking for it on the side or asking for it to be removed from the dish entirely, if you can. It didn't add anything and I found it to be a distraction, mostly. Good brewhouse located close to the Dunkin center. Nothing too off the charts here to impress the brewery connoisseur. I tried several good beers but only 1 caught my attention, " The TRINITY IPA". The food was decent but the service left something to be desired. I was only asked once for a refill after my first initial drink and in a brewhouse that just seems subpar.
