Long Live Beerworks wasn't a brewery that I had on my list for one's to try but I am glad that I did get a chance to give it a try. The beer that Steve and I had was the PVD Pils which gets listed as an Italian Pilsner. I have really loved this Pilsner type for a long time now. I love having Italian Pilsners with Italian food. While some probably have them with pizza I really enjoy them with pasta. But alas we had this beer with Mexican food so go figure. Lol No complaints though as this very good Pilsner fit the bill nicely. Flavor highlights with this beer are biscuity, hoppy and a nice clean aftertaste. The beer is very crushable which means it's very easy to have more than one of these beers.
So growing up in Providence I didn't realize this was considered "west end" but I checked a map and guess that's accurate. Who knew. The old location was cute - but tiny. This is spacious and pretty. Its got decent seating, a nice upstairs loft area with plenty of tables. And the bathrooms are nice - big and clean. LOTS of IPAs - and lots of them said they were hazy. So not a ton of variety. I got a dark lager which was really tasty and came in a cute little glass mug. I'm partial to a basic pint glass (I tend to not order drinks that have a high ABV cause I also hate a snifter or whatever they're called, I know it's stupid I just want a nice 16oz beer usually, in a plain cup) but the mug was adorable and not heavy. I usually love IPAs but I'm not generally big on super hazy IPA. The lack of variety was kinda meh. My friend got a sour that looked like a smoothie - she said she liked it but was surprised by the thickness as she had tried other flavors of it before. I def like the vibe - would like to chill there on a rainy or chilly weekend and bring a board game or something. I went for health goth yoga which was fun - but the hardest yoga class I think I've done. The pace was quick. The music was awesome. Teddys food truck was there so we snacked on some delicious fries while we enjoyed our beverages. Definitely a cool spot to hang - all the space makes me want to go back.
Long Live is such a cute hang out spot to meet friends! I attended a Pottery with a Purpose class they were hosting upstairs, which made such a cute girls night with some friends! Their drink selection was also great! I don't personally drink beer, so I was excited when I saw the multiple options they had for ciders and wines (and some NA options!)! Specifically, they carry Graft Cider, which are some of my favorites! The bartender was helpful with beer selections for my friends as well. I'm excited to return soon! It looks like they have a bunch of events on their calendar too. It's a little off the beaten path for me, but I think it's worth the trip!
I haven't had the food here but it's a really cool experience to be able to try out different local food trucks. I've never had bad service and at the moment I can't drink so they're awesome about recommending their favorite non-alcoholic options. The building is super cool inside and out and I love the way they've designed the space into a really cool and functional meeting place. They also have a ton of events to bring the community together which is an awesome touch.
If you're looking for a brewery in Providence, then LongLive needs to be on your list! It feels like it's on its own hidden street with a two floor interior. I could've sampled every beer on the menu but Frozie cups and all seeing eye were easily my girlfriend's and my favorites. The bartender was a great help waiting patiently and assisting us with our questions about merch and to go cans to take back to New York. If I'm ever back in the area I will be stopping again!
Been going to LLBW approximately once a month since they were up on W Fountain and have never been disappointed. Even during the pandemic I can remember getting cans through the window when we couldn't get drafts lol! The beer is always great! Mostly hazy ipas but don't sleep on their stouts, especially the barrel aged versions. The also have delicious fruited berliners and tasty pilsners as well. You can almost always find several styles available on draft and they occasionally have a guest tap available. The staff are outstanding and really what make the trip special for me. From day 1 they've always been welcoming and friendly. You can tell that they really care about what they are doing as it's reflected in their quality. Even the can art and merch is well done! The area around Sprague St is a little bit of an "up and comer" so Just don't wander alone too far after dark. There is often a food truck available at the brewery but there is also some great authentic cuisines in the area to take advantage when down this way.
Basically the perfect brewery. Such a wide variety of brews to enjoy. Inside is hip & spacious. There are many different spots & nooks to enjoy your bev, including a landing up a flight of stairs. Outside is the epitome of perfect patio beer vibes. Tasteful outdoor furniture, cornhole, gorgeous plants, sunshine during the day, & nice soft lighting during the evening. They host different food trucks/pop-up vendors constantly - check the calendar on their website. I really appreciate this type of community collaboration. Keep it coming. The taproom is located in a residential mill building complex on Sprague Street. I always walk there, so I can't comment on the parking situation. My only hope is that the Long Live brewing team takes a crack at a gluten-free beer or seltzer. That would really butter my biscuit.
Favorite brewery in RI without a doubt. The beer is what first got me hooked, so hooked in fact that I'm back almost weekly. The staff is incredibly friendly (so friendly we've become friends) and the spot is super cool. Great outdoor seating options in the warmer weather, and an awesome interior with plenty of seating options all in a perfectly located industrial space. The attention to detail is evident, and it makes this a great place to hang out and enjoy amazing beer. Their IPA game is strong. VERY strong, but don't sleep on the stouts or sours either. Quite honestly they're killing all of it! If you haven't been I highly suggest you change that, and fast.
Highly recommend having one of their delicious beers on their monthly trivia nights! I'm a sucker for their IPAs and the PVD local brew! Their raspberry smoothie was also quite tasty, though much sweeter than their other drinks! Can't wait to be back for more!
Hazies that can compete with any brewery in the nation! So few breweries can make a good hazy but Ling Live has at least a dozen. On top of that they have several milk stouts and a barleywine that all are superb. The service is super friendly and truly knowledgeable and the interior was clean and comfortable. When we were there a pop-up fresh oyster bar set up...fresh oysters, world class beer, and great beer tenders...what more could you ask for? Oh yeah, barrel aged maple syrup! This brewery was a revelation and is in my top five nationwide.
Top tier brewery in Providence. Their tap room is gorgeous, and in good weather, there's a lovely kutdoor space to enjoy those tasty beers. Long Live strikes a nice balance between the excessive IPA offers so popular with many places, and interesting takes on other styles of beers. You will find something for every palate here. Excellent beertenders are always happy to guide you to a beer you'll love. On my brewery rotation.
So worth a visit if in the area. The best Rhode Island craft beer I've tasted, and this was the first I heard of them. Close to downtown Providence but not walkable - get a ride share as the surrounding area is industrial. The tasting room offers half pours which is a great way to sample several of their offerings. They offer 4 packs to go and my favorite is they offer a varietal 4 pack of single cans of their best IPAs - supposedly this changes every so often. Great friendly and welcoming service as well. I got my 4-pack to go
Long Live Beerworks is a craft brewery that opened in Providence, Rhode Island in January 2016. It was founded by brewer Armando DeDona and his wife Jessica deBry. The two met in New Haven, Connecticut. DeDona is a native while deBry is a transplant from Los Angeles. Eventually the couple relocated to Providence. The initial plan was to spend a short time there and move on, but they fell in love with the friendly people and the vibrant food scene. A bricklayer by trade, DeDona had become an avid home brewer over the years and eventually attended Brewlab: a leading brewery training program in England. He later became a founding member of the Rhode Island Brewing Society. DeDona and deBry opened Long Live Beerworks at 425 West Fountain Street. The brewery was so successful that it quickly outgrew its location. In 2019, they moved to a historic building on Sprague Street that had once been home to the Mechanical Fabric Company. A second taproom opened in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, MA in June 2023. I recently visited Long Live Beerworks while I was cycling some of the excellent bike trails in the Providence area. I had explored Providence's craft beer scene as early as 2014, but was never terribly impressed. Recently I heard that their scene had improved immensely and one name that kept coming up was "Long Live Beerworks". I absolutely loved the location: exposed brick and detailed metal and woodwork. But how was their beer? I pulled up a seat at the bar and looked over the draught menu. Although they brew a variety of styles, most of the repertoire was hazy New England-style IPAs. I could tell that I was going to like this place. I ordered a sampler flight which consisted entirely of hazy DIPAs: "Glory Bound", "Skull Medallion", "Black Cat Sees All", and "DDH The All Seeing Eye". Holy moly! These beers knocked off my socks! Clearly the craft beer scene has improved in Providence; in fact I would call it a craft beer paradise! As long as the city has breweries like Long Live Beerworks, I'll be coming back for years to come!

My friends and I love coming here for their trivia nights! I'm not much of a beer drinker, so I usually stick to something light like a cider. I really appreciate that they offer a variety of cider flavors to choose from so it makes it easy to find something I enjoy. They usually have different food trucks outside each week, which is fun if you're in the mood to try something new. There's also a small food menu inside, though it's a bit limited if you're just looking for snacks. The cashier who took our orders was friendly, the space was clean, and it wasn't too crowded, which made the experience even better. I'd definitely come back again! read more

Stopped here on our way into Boston. It is a beautiful brewery that really shined with the fall colors. Parking is a little strange, but it was doable mid day on a Sunday. Both bartenders were very friendly and they have a VERY wide selection of beers. My fiance likes IPAs so he was in heaven. I prefer fruity beers and they had four available sours. I had two of them and they were both good. I also picked up a very soft sweatshirt as a memento. read more

Great location - outdoor seats in an off-street alleyway and free street parking. Reservations are 90 minutes, and they give you last call before your time is up. From the outside tables, ordering is all via QR code from your phone; you even pay with Apple Pay if you want. Indoor restrooms were super clean! They mostly have IPAs; our favorites were the 5.2 Anniversary and Nelson Sees All. The Black Out Sour was also delicious. read more
Great brewery with a nice outdoor patio and even nicer interior. Love the look and feel of this place! We were in the area looking for dog friendly breweries and stopped here first! Pups aren't allowed inside the taproom but they let us bring our dog in to order. We got two flights to try a little bit of everything! My favorite was the sour they had on tap: Frozie Cup. The patio is so nice with all the shrubbery and plenty of seating! read more
Beautiful facility overall with indoor and outdoor seating options. I could not find one of their beers that I actually enjoyed and I tried a good handful of them. This rarely happens and I was surprised and disappointed. My husband loved the beer and bought a couple 4 packs to take home. I personally would not return. read more

So I have been exploring the vast number of microbreweries in RI and definitely found some fun places. So with the pandemic, Long Live Beerworks has an outdoor takeout window and limited outdoor seating available. Being as cautious as I have, this is the holy grail for picking up my order. Peeking in the window I can see a really cool space that I can't wait to be seated at when this is all over. Until then, I will grab and go using their online ordering and takeout window. So what about their beer? After all, that is what we are coming here for. So I am almost exclusively a stout drinker, and I am impressed with their constant release of new stouts! The first that I tried was 5 Years On, a blend of multiple oak barrel stouts that really struck a strong note of port wine. Seriously impressed what they can do at this point. The following week I returned for the release of Return of the Warlord. Coffee stouts, such as this, really get me going, and this is probably the best one so far!!! Not sure who this warlord is, but he certainly has my vote! So am I addicted to Long Live Beerworks? Probably so, I love their frequent new releases, and am highly impressed what they can do with their brews. read more
If your soul focus when visiting a brewery is their beer and you love IPA's then I believe that Long Live Beerworks is your brewery! For me, I focus on the entire package when visiting a local craft brewery. I do enjoy a good IPA. I also look at the atmosphere, the service, and the overall feel. The male bartender was off-putting from the get go. We ordered 2 flights all consisting of IPA's. 8 different IPA's is a lot in my book. As we were looking around the kind female bartender encouraged us to at least take a look upstairs since we have never been there before. She noted that the upstairs had a great view overlooking the brewing area. We took her up on her advice and headed upstairs. It is beautiful with tons of seating (mostly 4 top tables). We picked a table. We had our choice because literally we were the only people upstairs. Let me say it again, the only 2 people in a wide open area. This is where it goes a little more downhill. The off-putting male bartender after approx 15 min felt the need to walk upstairs to our table with no congenial greeting, and tell me that I needed to move my chair out of the very wide walkway in between the tables due to it being a fire lane. Remember we are the only two people upstairs. The space is wide open. And the bartender had no other reason to be upstairs. I had no idea that Rhode Island is SO serious about their fire lanes!!!! Had he said it in a funny, jovial manner, like in conversation it would have come off so much differently. But instead he made us feel worse about the experience at Long Live. We didn't stay for our normal pints after our flight of beers. We headed to another brewery. We sat in two chairs and that brewer, bartender, and owner (all the same gal) never told us to move due to fire lane code. read more

"Long live rock! I need it every night Long live rock! Come on and join the line" (Pete Townsend) If you change the lyrics from "Long Live Rock" to "Long Live Beer", well... they still work ! A professional organization I belong to held a fundraiser here last night. We had a private space upstairs in the mezzanine and arranged catering in the form of a chili bar for our group of 28. I was very impressed with every little detail of our night. The building itself screams old New England mill industrial. Lots of exposed bricks and a high ceiling. Very cool indeed!! Our group loved their beers. Now you need to know that their beers are very IPA-centric so if hoppyness ain't your preference you may have issues with the beer list. I'm not an IPA guy, so I had a Holy Imperial Stout (with cacao and toasted marshmallows). It clocked in at an impressive 10% ABV. I also had a Frozie Cup, a Berliner Weisse with Raspberry, Pineapple and Key Lime. It was on the thicker side with pureed fruit, was sweet and not hoppy or bitter, and had a lighter 4% ABV. Don't judge me, but I thought it was very good. Our chili was catered by Solid Gold Provisions, and it was excellent. It was served with sour cream, scallions, and cotija cheese, plus a square of addictive cornbread. The chili had some zippy horsepower in there, and it was perfect to my taste. We also ordered a few bowls of their Roasted Nuts with smoked chipotle, brown sugar, and sea salt. They were excellent -sweet, spicy, crunchy -they were made to have with a few beers. Our evening was executed perfectly, and I have to give a shout-out to our event coordinator Veronica. She was a real pleasure to deal with and explained every detail to us in a friendly and concise manner. Just be aware that Beerworks is a little hard to find. Remember, their street address is 40R Sprague Street, so you know right away that the business is behind the street so you won't see it as you drive down Sprague. You have to walk through a passageway between some brick buildings to take you to their front door, which is set back behind the row of buildings you see on the street. Don't park in the lots across the street- they belong to apartments or condos and you will get towed. Look for street parking. read more

I loved Long Live Beerworks in its old space, and I love Long Live Beerworks in its newer space. (Long Live the brewery in any form one may even say!) I've been a handful of times to their digs on Sprague Street and can I just say wow. The space is truly incredible. Think lofted industrial space with towering windows, reclaimed wood, exposed brick, geometric iron art, dotted with warm string lights. The space itself is absolutely magical and I wish I could live in the brewery itself. Alas, since I can't--I'll just enjoy a sampling of all the beers they have on draft. Everything I've tried is excellent, but let me call special attention to the frozie cup sours. These are some of the most outrageously delicious, fruit-forward sours I've ever tried. The Frozie Cup Valentine's edition has mango, strawberry, and apricot in it. It drinks like a smoothie and it's absolute perfection. Can't wait to come back for their next frozie cup sour already! read more
My friend and I visited this place on a Sunday afternoon and had a great time. The servers at the bar were super friendly and helpful and assisted us in choosing brews for our tastes. There is seating inside and outside, all very fresh and clean. When we were there Ming's Food Truck was there serving amazing fries and crab Rangoon. Wow, I was really impressed with this food truck! Perfect compliment to the lighter beers too. Bathroom was super clean and I enjoyed the random fake eyes on the toilet paper. So cute! Parking is on the street which may be problematic other days but was fine on a a Sunday afternoon. read more
If I have a "my local brewery," whoop here it is Friendly, patient, lovely people Warm, inviting spot for good beers I'm not sure why I haven't provided something written on Long Live before, but that actually feels noteworthy. Have you reviewed your favorite Saturday morning routine? Or that jacket you think you look good in? Or your favorite stretch of road to roll the windows down and blare some fine tunes? I guess it's tough to explain what you know so well as a mainstay in your life - it's better and closer than a staple. I'm one of those fools who always wants what's new in beer, and Long Live provides it - always fresh recipes plus a good cycle back to greatest hits. Yet even while I roam the countryside looking for things I haven't had, I know I'll be back to Sprague as a home base. Long Live has provided me with more taste bud pleasure than most places on earth - ales and sours and stouts oh my. It's always welcoming when quiet and more empty, unflaggingly friendly and accommodating when packed to the gills with a line out the door back at Fountain or now here at Sprague, and an unflagging, steady friend which was early to adopt best service standards during COVID. This is the best brewery in Providence. The new space is beautiful. Indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Fantastic beer! These are the best IPAs you will find in the city. They offer small and full size pours. Drafts and cans to go. So happy to watch this brewery go from a smallish spot on the west side only open a few days a week into this big, beautiful space they designed. Keep up the great work! read more

One of the only places to fill my 64oz yeti...are you kidding me!...Not to mention the finest staff's in the state to consistently cater to your needs without restrictions...just saying top three in my experiences and I have had a few as I don't generally post! As I told the staff one of the few left who will cater to filling a growler as it doesn't hurt to have one of my all time favorites..."All Seeing Eye"...Thanks guy's! We have been coming to Long Live Beerworks for a couple months now and absolutely love it! They have such a great variety of brews to choose from and I am anxious for the warmer weather so we can enjoy some outdoor fun here! My husband is big into all their stouts and is always looking for their new release! read more
This was a great find in Rhode Island. My husband and I love to travel and find cool beer spots. Long Live Beerworks seemed to specialize in NE Hazy IPAs, as most of their menu featured these type of beers. I ordered a fruit sour beer that tasted so good, it was like juice. My husband's beer were all very tasty too. We were able to enjoy our beers with our dog inside, which was nice since it was a cold night out. Overall, I enjoyed this place and would come back here. read more

Long live beer! An easy slogan to agree with, I'd say. Though the process of beer making involves more than a slogan, and therein lies the full name of this Rhode Island craft brewery: Long Live Beer Works. I was able to check out this Providence brew spot back in the warmer months and the results were tasty. Long Live might involve a long walk (har har) if you're staying somewhere in the Down City area, but it's worth the reasonable trek (or you can always Uber). Once there, it has an exterior that reminds me of the industrial-park-located breweries of Long Island in which you wouldn't necessarily think you'd find superb suds pouring out of random storefronts. LLBW cordons off a little outdoor section to help keep the beer vibes contained. Once inside, you'll get that tiny brewery feel as the place is nothing more than the bar and some counter space behind and on the side. It was crowded when we went so our (okay, my) drinking took place at a table in that outer area. What did I drink? Now in no way am I demeaning the fact that Long Live only had four beers to choose from, but when getting a flight, you don't entirely have an option for what you're selecting. Friends of mine might scoff at having to throw in an IPA or stout into their flight, but for me I drink it all so I was pretty cool with it. Plus they don't force you to choose all four. Each 4oz pour is $2 so pile them up as you see fit. Back in July, the four available brews were Gimme Danger (DIPA), Vintage Triangles (IPA with Amarillo and Citra), Nitro Cart Stout (figure that out yourself), and Don't Stop Partying (Party-Time IPA...?). Triangles and Don't Stop Partying were both respectable beers that had a nice semi-bitter bite to them, though the real winner of the style was Gimme Danger. This guy had that subtle mouthfeel coating that you love in a good New England DIPA. Nitro Cart Stout did the trick as well bringing in a roasted and flavorful finish. Once through the flight I popped back in for a tulip glass to add to the collection and we were on our merry way. Overall, Long Live Beer Works encompasses the craftiness that many beer drinkers are looking for through its small size and quality brews. I'd love to return one day and see a few more selections on the board to give me an even better sampling of what they're all about. For now, I'll just continue to think of them every time I hear the words "Long Live." read more
Long Live Beerworks is my favorite brewery in RI. The IPAs are more on the fruity side, and more flavorful than your traditional hoppy IPA. The owners and everyone behind the bar are always super friendly, nice, and awesome people overall! Every Friday there is a special cask (called Firkin Friday) of a crazy delicious flavor. This can be a stout, IPA, sour, jolly rancher infused, just about anything. They are always super tasty! Recently, they added special cask glasses so everyone can tell when someone is drinking the Firkin. There is usually about six flavors on tap at a time. The beers occasionally rotate so if you see a flavor you like, grab a pour or a growler before it's gone. Some weekends have a special "Ghost of" Berliner Weisse, composed of a fruit puree. Thick, fruity, rich, amazing! They have become my favorite specials. Long Live also has can releases a few times a month of brews or their collaborations. They often do collaborations with other local businesses. With PVDonuts, they created a Vanilla Wallaby Stout based on the Dunkaroo Donut, and a Dear Violet Beauregarde based on the blueberry cake donuts. With Fountain & Co, they created a Fountain & Ghost to highlight raspberry and sweet peach. With The Nitro Cart, they created several stout flavors. On the weekends, sometimes they will host a food pop up, such as Burgundian Coffee and Waffles, Cuff's Counter, Fountain and Co, and so much more. The space is very cozy. In the summer, people can sit inside or out on the patio. The winter is a little tougher as everyone tries to squish into the tiny room. I normally would remove a star for a tiny space, but Long Live Beerworks is currently working on their new, bigger space. I'm excited to see this brewery grow! read more
