Nice local brewery with some good brews. We enjoyed the Death by Hops IPA. They have a number of beers on tap and offer flights and 4oz pours to sample the variety of brews. It's a little bit of a strange location in an industrial complex near the transfer station but they have good signage to guide you from the Main Street. Hubby said "meet me at foolproof brewery" so I did! Great way to end a day for sure! I'm a huge foodie person so I love flavor and varied tastes. .However, I DO NOT like sour beers or craft sour brews until today that is. Got a flight and the Mango Vango intrigued me so I went with it. A hint of sweet, citrus/fruit and touch of sour. Yummy!! I also tried the pale ale (light), jazz (musical!) and backyahd....all good! The atmosphere was really inviting and the bartender (mixologist) was friendly, easy to talk to and knew and loved her products well. Really knowledgeable about upcoming events and the mug club! This brewery clearly has its stuff together. The taproom is neat and organize and the brewery handles large amounts of patrons well. There is an outdoor setup as well. I choose to sit out the tour and chill right at the taps. There is always lots of variety (I once saw a kelp and sea salt beer!) and each brew is well put together. Their farmhouse ales are my favorite. Foolproof sells 4 and 6 packs, glassware, and beer can candles! An easy choice to bring a friend, even if they are not completely into craft beer. read more

We have been loyal customers for over a few years. We joined the beer club just under a year ago. Tonight, we brought a younger friend in who was enjoying the brewery. He had emailed bunches of his friends to say what a cool place. Well, I have a service dog in training. She is only 18 months old. ​Today I was told she needs to be outside because a person inserted themselves between me, who she is only guard for, and she barked until I told her off. He said that was not allowed at his brewery. She actually kissed the guys hand who she barked at, and was extremely nice to a person who came over to her after that. So, I do not understand seeing this we have ever been told she is a problem. So, think about going there if have a disability with a dog. I do not suggest it. I have to totally enjoyed their beer. We have spent lots of money and give good tips. Just their loyalty to their customers. Especially, one that is a service dog in training. Now, will a rebate on our beer club membership. Really enjoy seeing this place continue to grow. They have an awesome selection of in house brewed beers that you can enjoy on site, on the patio if the weather is nice, or to go. They also do samplers, have games to play (bean bag toss, etc.), and snacks sucked as bagged popcorn. They do have limited hours so ensure you check this before you head there. Location can also be challenging to find so look at the actual building location on GPS so you can wrap around the area to get in, as it is gated around the area. read more

This is my favorite brewery that I've been to in Rhode Island so far. The selection is HUGE and I had so much fun picking out a bunch of different things to try. There's really something for everyone, from more "out there" options like peanut butter & jelly beer, to classics like a couple of delicious amber ales. The bartenders were really nice and not pretentious at all about providing recommendations or discussing the menu. They have a ton of games to keep you entertained while you're here. It's a little bit small inside the taproom, but I bet the outdoor seating will be really pleasant in the summer. They also have various events like game night, trivia, and I think I saw a poster for a DnD-related event? Check their website to see what's going on lately! When we were here, the owner had actually provided FREE bratwursts to all customers because they were collab-ing with a local bratwurst company. I couldn't partake because I don't eat meat, but I thought this was a super nice gesture. My only complaint is that I wish there were some hot food options. They do have so pre-packaged snacks, but I really had a hankering for something warm and filling on a cold winter night. Popped over here before a Pawsox game. I was familiar with the beer due to tastings at local bars and what not but thought it would be worth trying it from the source. They offer four, four ounce pours for their flight tasting. I tried the Farmhouse Ale, Shuckolate Stout, Forecast Chapter #2 Cask,and Queen of the Yahd. I I enjoyed all of them, ended up getting 2 12oz pours of their Cask (Forecast, a gose style beer with added blackberries) and a 12oz if the Augtober, their festbeir. I enjoyed with Gose style so much i grabbed a 4 pack to go. I like that it's local and pretty laid back. read more

I've only come twice: once for a Yelp event and another for Friday night flights, but I've had great experiences both times. Regarding the most recent visit: I discovered that they have $5 flights from 4-7pm on Fridays (don't quote me on the start time, but the end time is definitely 7pm), and when my friend bailed, I decided to go anyway. What a great choice! I was a fan of the flight special, especially when I realized I had my pick of any of their 13 draughts. I'm pretty girly (?) about my beer choices, in that anything with coffee or chocolate has my attention. They didn't have any beers brewed with coffee, but they did have a chocolate and a peanut butter beer (which I thought would be awesome combined, but the bartender made it at my request, and it wasn't as I'd hoped. They are better separate!) The surprise favorite that night was actually their vanilla nitrogen ____ . (my memory is only of flavor, not beer type) Also, the service rocks. The bartender (Alex, I believe?) was really friendly, and since I'd come alone, he and his physicist friend Steve kept me company and in the loop of conversation so I wasn't just a loner at the bar. I have LOVES LOVED LOVED this brewery for several years, sampling their brews at local beer fests and beer bars, so when I was in the area for a long weekend I knew this was going to he a stop in our itenerary. Foolproof like several other breweries nearby are located in industrial parks near Mineral Springs Road. It's a bit comical and also awesome to have three breweries within a one mile radius. I can't tell you how many times I inputted the directions for a brewery only to realize we were heading back to the same area. Now on to the most important factor... The beers.... Rhode Island alcohol laws are interesting, a brewery cannot our you a pint but can offer you a sampling or in other words a flight. Here for $9 we got 4 tickets and a pint glass to try what they had on tap. And the pours (which were genrrous) were poured right into our glass, genius. I sampled the IPA, Porter Imperial IPA and their Augtoberfest...all so much better from the tap. Traffic was pretty light when I was there on a Friday evening so I cannot attest to how busy they get in the weekend but it's not a place to grab a pint and chat, the law does not allow that which is so much different from other breweries I have visited. I cannot fault Foolproof for this though. What was extra special was even though tours are on. Saturday one of their brewers was nice enough to give a quick tour and mentioned a possible peanut butter Porter collaboration over the winter. Hell ya! When our tasting was over I grabbed some cans of the. IPA and Imperial IPA (sold in a 4 pack) and a bomber of the Augtoberfest. Again Rhode Island rules came into play and this was the amounted ounces I was allotted to purchase. They have tours and a food truck on the weekends so it's great for a tasting and tour but don't expect to spend the whole afternoon there unless you purchase multiple samplings. read more

Great tour. Lots of brewing knowledge under one roof! I just got a chance to stop in for a tasting and WOW... This beer Rocks! I'm really looking forward to them hitting the stores in the coming weeks. The staff is super friendly, and knows what they are doing when it comes to brewing. They are charging $10 for a tasting and a tour, plus you get a Foolproof pint glass to keep. They have 4 beers on tap and I only tasted 3. The Porter was the Star! Smooth, malty, with a clean finish. The IPA was also really good, I'm not even an IPA fan and I enjoyed it. The hops mix made the IPA strong but balanced. The seasonal beer is the russian imperial stout weighing in at 10.9%and you would never know it. Smooth malty flavor with whisky notes and rich aftertaste. They are taking the canned approach (which is a good thing) and I hope tall boys are coming soon! The Brewery is clean, high tech and ready to expand if everybody starts buying Foolproof! read more

Foolproof is a great local brewery for kicking back and seeing something new. The brewery tours are prompt, but there's not much to see in the one-room warehouse. Each tour is $5 and comes with several tokens to try the beer, as well as a miniature beer glass. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a small bar with stools, barrel tables and more. Most of the beer was heavy and hoppy, which isn't my favorite, taste-wise. However, there is good variety and I'm happy to support the local yokels! read more

Found this place by looking in Yelp. We were looking for something to do since the weather wasn't great. We didn't take the brewery tour which they do offer. We have been on a few in the past so we chose to skip it. They have many beers to choose from. They have something for everyone no matter what your taste are. They have a sign with the beers listed with a small description of them. Also the people who work there are very knowledgeable. If you tell them the beers you like they can help you make decisions based on that so you have an enjoyable tasting. They have seats inside, and if you go on a nice day they have tables set up outside also. Definitely worth a visit read more

This place is in a really strange location, but it is definitely worth going to. If you're driving and you see a lot of buses, you're in the right place. There was a decent sized selection of beer, with a mix of ales, stouts, and porters. When I was there they had just missed the sour beer, so hopefully they will be brewing more sometime soon. The inside is pretty typical for a brewery. Not too big, not too small. You can look through the windows and see how everything is made. They also offer tours. read more

Beer here is good, atmosphere is a dont bother if you have children. Extremely disappointed in this. Every other brewery in rhode island allows families. I guess foolproof does not. I am in rhode island for two weeks for work and two of my beer loving cohorts from CT came to visit for the day yesterday. We started at foolproof and had a ball. Bill gave a really enjoyable tour and loved the two working the bar. Everyone was so nice! Bought two four packs (one for a gift and one for me, obvs). The king of the yahd and lfu were my favorites - those were the 4 packs i bought. Coffee nitro was also delightful. If i lived closer i would totally volunteer to can beer! This is one of the first breweries I knew existed in Rhode Island so I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed it. Foolproof has been around for a long time so they must be doing something right. ! They have a mix of brews. They have ones that appeal to everyone such as the backyahd ipa , or the raincloud porter. You can usually find these on draft around the state and ones around us. If your a craft lover then you need to go visit the brewery where you find a delicious array of craft brews. There is ample parking and a huge outdoor space when weather permits. You can have a flight or a full pour. The staff is very welcoming and you can often find the brewers pouring beers and chatting with customers. It's one of our fave places to hang out because of the atmosphere. The beer is the star here. They have so many different ones to try. The board usually has a dozen or more options. Some of our faves are the peanut butter rain cloud which is delicious fresh peanuts. The pineapple vango which is a sour. The revery which is a barrel aged brew. Too many to write about but I recommend getting a flight so you can try them all. It's a great spot and one every beer geek needs to visit. And bring me with you ! read more

A local beer treat. The brewery itself is a bit off the beaten path in Pawtucket, but don't let that startle you. Go and visit the crew that loves what they do, and sharing the fruits of their labor. There is a small, but totally comfortable tasting room just off the main production floor. The beers are on tap or canned/bottled and ready for your take-home purchase. The tasting room would be a great spot for a small event too. Easy parking, as the space is in an old industrial park. Go for a tour, a taste, and then repeat. if you like predictable beers, this place is awesome. they nail the beer styles on the head, and that's it. i still have not had any of the limited release beers, maybe that would change my thinking about foolproof.. but they don't have those on tap at the brewery, just the beers you can get in local bars or cans. sampling a bunch of beers i had already had was not too exciting, it is a kind of neat setup that you have to drive through the garbage dump to get to. the tap room guy seemed bothered that i wanted to get the beer samples i had paid for. read more

I have been a big fan of Foolproof ever since they opened up shop in RI. Being a craft beer fan, I love to support local breweries and these guys certainly produce some good quality beers. Getting to the brewery can be a little interesting and while they don't have the biggest facility, the tour and experience are definitely worth it. The owner, Nick, and the rest of the crew working there are very passionate and knowledgeable about their beers and they give a very insightful look into the brewing process. Along with the tour you also get a souvenir glass and three generous pours of any of their beers they have on draft in the tasting room. It is great to see the craft beer movement growing in RI and Foolproof is up there as one of my favorites. From their IPA to Farmhouse ale they offer different styles that can appeal to a variety of beer drinkers. The beers here are so good, the Had a lot of flavors and the staff was chill. People seem friendly around there too. Awesome new brewery in the great state of RI! Went for a tour once, loved it. Told some friends about Foolproof and went again, even better! The brewmaster actually went over the process of how you actually become a "brewmaster." I thought that was unique in the fact that I've never heard about the process at any other brewery tour I've been to. Cool stuff! Now onto the beer..very refreshing! I've been on brewery tours around the world, but I have to say, this is one of my favorites--and it's within walking distance of my house! I've been a fan of Foolproof beers for a few years now, so it was pretty exciting to see where they actually come from. The place is a little hard to find, but it's right off Mineral Spring--look for the lot full of buses, and there's also a tiny Foolproof sign, follow the road back to the T and then turn right. Most brewery tours walk you through the process of brewing--here are the hops, here are the barley, etc. That's interesting at first, but gets a bit same same after you've been to a few places. Well at Foolproof, Bill gave us a "day in the life" tour, where he basically showed us what HE does in a given week at work, and it was really interesting. Plus, since the place is so small--literally and in terms of staff, the work is a lot more hands-on than you would find at a huge brewery like Guinness or Coors, for instance. The tour begins in the tasting room, where you get three pours (about half a pint) and a souvenir glass for $10. I recommend getting one pour right away and taking it on the tour with you. After that, you go into the brewery itself, which is basically a single room with massive brewing tanks all around. Bill told us that the tour is different depending on who is giving it, so I may even go back and take it again! They also do a lot of cool events, that I was not previously aware of. For Halloween, there was a Haunted Brewery tour, and this summer they are doing an Augtoberfest, which sounds like a lot of fun. My main takeaway was that these guys are making delicious beers and having a lot of fun doing it, and I'm so glad they are! read more

Telling my friend "good luck" after buying three drinks for the four of us and cutting us off was pretty off putting and definitely the first I've experienced.
