Always an awsome time at our first female owned and operated brewery. It's a small spot but always parking there and room for drinking. There were always three beers and you can try them all in a flight to decide what you one would like a pour of. The atmosphere is very welcome , with Nichole remembering her customers and always thanks them For visiting. For a real fun time check out the social medias ! They are always funny ! The owner/brewer is the only female full-time brewer in Rhode Island. What a good cause to support!!! We lucked out that she was on site slinging her amazing beers. She gave us the low down. Letting us know that they always have 3 beers on tap, usually a stout. She also mentioned that during the fall season she loves to brew a maple pumpkin beer. Sadly, on that exact day they didn't have it available, the first batch had run out and the second batch was a few days from being ready. Everyone that frequents Crooked Current let us know that indeed the maple pumpkin is phenomenal. I'll have to make it back during the fall season in hopes of getting to try it. Went here for the first time. They have three beers on tap and the rotate flavors every month. This month they have fall flavors on tap. You can get beer served by the glass or do a flight. They also give small samples if you do not want to do a flight. I don't remember the names of the beers we tasted except one which was a Neapolitan which you could taste all of the flavors like the ice cream. One was a pumpkin ale. The beers weren't bad if you like ales. The place is very tiny but they do have seats outside if you go on a nice day. Definitely worth a stop read more

My favorite brewery on the entire east coast! I have been coming here since they opened and continue to go back every time I am back in Rhode Island. I love the ladies and I love the beer even more. My ultimate favorite has to be the Hawaiian porter which seems to be an almost permanent addition to the tap line. The inside is pretty small, but pre-covid plenty of people would fit in there albeit a little crowded. There is plenty of parking and an awesome metal sculpture park in the back of the lot, which makes for a nice walk around before or after you check out crooked. REALLY love this brewery! Noticed it one day about a year ago while driving down Mineral Spring Ave., so I looked it up & was intrigued by some of the flavors mentioned on their website. Decided to give it a try & have been a regular ever since. The owners & employees are awesome. They're friendly & make you feel so appreciated. And, they've been super careful & accommodating during the pandemic. They do an awesome job keeping people at a safe distance & are meticulous with cleaning/sanitizing things...all much appreciated by this nurse! They'll even run the beer to your car to make it truly contactless if you don't want to run in. Beer can be ordered via PM or phone call. Or, you can just go grab it during business hours. They sell their beer in crowlers or growlers. Credit cards are accepted. Flavors rotate & they have several awesome seasonal selections as well. My personal favorites this year have been the oatmeal raisin stout, strawberry blonde, watermelon blonde, & maple pumpkin. Though, their Neapolitan, mango smash IPA, & horchata were pretty up there too. Honestly, I haven't had a beer there yet that I didn't at least like. Hubby doesn't enjoy their beer as much as I do because they do a lot of porters, & he's not a fan of those...but, I sure am, & heck, this is MY review... LOL! There hasn't been a beer I haven't enjoyed here. She's really great at what she does. Lots of approachable beers, nothing too high on the ABV. Great place to hang out at the tables outside and enjoy a super fresh beer. You can buy crowler cans, or bring your own growler vessels to fill. Smallest brewery in the state with the only female brew master, those words alone intrigued me to check out Crooked Current Brewery. Located in an industrial building, it's pretty easy to find and once inside I was greeted by Nicole and started on a tasti6of their thee current brews, a raspberry wheat, an oatmeal raisin stout and a chocolate coconut Porter. Nicole is a fable and charming and her beers are pretty solid line up for only being operational since October 2014. She was a home brewer for several years before taking the plunge and opening up Crooked Current and although the brewery is super small (bucket brewery was housed their prior to their move) none of the beers were bad. Each had their own complexity and although I am not a Porter or stout fan, I am a fan of her brews. In the end I ended up with a growler of Raspberry Wheat (more of a summer beer). Cheers to Nicole, she's got a good thing and I wish nothing but the best for her in the future. Sampler tastings are $9 and you get a pint glass to bring home with you. Liquor laws are different in Rhode Island so don't think you will get unlimited pours. That will require purchasing another tasting sampler. read more

Definitely my favorite RI brewery and I've been to at least 16 of them (only a couple more left to try!). As the state's smallest brewery they only have 3 beers on tap at a time and the flavors are always rotating. We were served by one of the brewers/owners and SHE (I forgot her name, but how badass is that?) explained her flavoras are inspired by her culinary passion and feels that if she has a flavor in the name, you better be able to taste it! She certainly achieved that with the neopolitan brown ale. It tasted just like the ice cream! The space is small, but the service quick and when the weather is nice there's plenty of room to spill outside. They're open Thur - Sat and offer 32oz cans and growlers and 64oz growlers for sale. I grabbed myself a large growler of neopolitan and a can of oatmeal raisin stout! It wasn't on tap to try but I was willing to take the chance based on their other flavors. Loved this brewery! It's super tiny inside but don't let that scare you. The walls are bright and vibrant and there are lights hanging across the ceiling. The atmosphere was great along with the really friendly staff. We did a tasting session when we got there which is 5 dollars to taste the three beers they have on tap. The man at the front told us all about the brewery and the beers. They are constantly rotating their beers and they do an awesome job of updating you on their social media. The pumpkin maple, s'mores brown, and egg nog milk stout were all excellent. Definitely a cool place to hangout for a bit. I went back again the following week to try the Neapolitan Brown. I didn't believe the description that it tasted exactly like the ice cream flavor. I was so wrong - the beer smelt and tasted like vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate ice cream all at the same time. So awesome! I recommend that and the white stout was great too. read more

Stopped in on on Saturday afternoon, extremely small space with a labor intensive small brewing system. Several beers were on tap, they all were clean and well made. Including an offering made with coconut which was a pleasant surprise. Rather busy with 95% of the seating outside, fortunately for us it was a nice day and there was plenty of outdoor seating. If we had to stay inside it would've been a problem 8-10 inside seats max. There were no restrooms available at all to use, which frankly I've never ran into that problem visiting Breweries in 15 different countries over many years. Great beers and enthusiasm from the Brewer and staff, but the space, etc. took a star off for me. But, if it works for them, it works! read more

We stumbled upon this brewery after hitting up the escape room next door, and I'm so glad we did! They don't serve food, but I heard there is typically a food truck outside most days. Great local brewery with a lot of heart, great people, delicious beer, and cool merch! We tried the tropical IPA, S'mores Brown ale, and white stout ($5 for 3-4ozsamples). They were all fantastic, but I have to say the tropical IPA blew me away. It was smooth and pineapple-y. We left with two growlers ($10 each) for later. read more

We just visited for the first time over the past weekend and it definitely won't be our last! The space is really small and they only have 3 beers on tap at a time but they were 3 strong offerings. They also have plenty of seating and places to set down your glass given the size of the tap room. We loved the inventive flavors and on top of being creative, they were very well executed. The S'mores brown ale was the favorite in our group - we got each of the classic s'mores flavors without one overpowering any of the others and it wasn't heavy or overly sweet like s'mores stouts can be, so it was super drinkable. We also tried the Pineapple-infused Hawaiian Robust Porter and the Triple B IPA and enjoyed those as well. The women on staff, including the brewer, were excellent. They thoroughly explained the tasting notes of each beer and were sure to mention that one was brewed with lactose in case anyone in our party had an intolerance. I bought a t-shirt and they let me know they ran small and brought out two sizes for me to look. It seems like the tap list rotates frequently - we saw the beers that are upcoming on the menu - so we can't wait to go back and try more! read more

I visited a few breweries on this day but oh man did this brewery stand out ... They had a red white and blue sample and all three were amazing but their white stout was absolutely delicious . I bought a huge can to go and I am presently enjoying it at home and I am soooo glad i chose this one to bring home . This beer is so perfectly made and so amazing that I wish I bought at least three more , I commend the brewer in every way for making this perfect bodied beer and incredibly tasting beer . I already told my my wife we have to go back ... Wait we NEED to go back to this brewery to not only buy this stout but try everything else they have to offer . LOVE the bold flavors of the beers here. I also thought that Nichole's passion for brewing was not only evident in her brew... but also the stories which accompany them. The hus and I were enjoying a sampler and we both loved the Smore's brown ale, in fact we took a growler of it home to enjoy later. Additionally, the mole sauce inspired, Mexican hot chocolate was great too. The Pineapple Stout was probably my least favorite of the three. Its flavor packed quite a punch but it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I can't wait to go back and try the new flavors that are being released!! read more

Tiny, but the beers were great. - This is not a large brewery where you go and play cornhole. This is tiny brewery. I think maybe there were 4 stools along one wall. And this is not a place to try wacky IPAs or stouts. The beers here are inspired by desert flavors - you're more likely to come across a s'mores beer here instead of a hoppy pilsner. But that's not a bad thing; the beers here sure had weird flavors (for us) but they were super tasty and well crafted. There are only like 3 beers on tap here. No flights but you can do tastes of each. We thought they were all delightful - again not your typical beers here but tasty and unique. The girls working here were very happy and sociable which we very much liked. Also met some locals and their dogs (dogs welcome). If you're in the area trying beers please do try the ones here - you're going to be impressed with how nicely unique they are. read more

This was a cute local brewery in Pawtucket with great rotating flavors. I tried a sample of three beers for only $5, or $8 with a souvenir glass. The Neapolitan ice cream beer was so good!! The downside to this spot is that it's so small. It's basically standing room only and there is no bathroom. However, you can get growlers to go which would eliminate the problem of having no place to sit! This is a good place to stop quickly on your way to dinner or a bigger brewery. read more

Not one to just give you a glass of hops, she uses her skills to craft amazing brews! There is something for everyone. A large, rotating tap list always has three on tap. They range from your traditional Hefeweizen (with a Nichole twist of course), to the Strawberry Blonde and Blueberry American Wheat. There are the flavorful and different IPAs. Stouts that are full of flavor and not heavy feeling allowing you to have more than one. And then there is the Neapolitan Brown Ale! All the flavors of The ice cream in one beer! I kid you not! Crooked Current Brewery is new, and is the smallest brewery in the state of RI. They have been on tap at some locations for the seasonal beverages, though it's better to be at the brewery to try the different types of beers to get a sense of what you like and because it's fun! Talking to the only female brew master, Nichole Pelletier, in RI is awesome because you get to learn so much about the business and how the business got started and where they are now. We started with the Chocolate Coconut. I am not a fan of coconuts in general but this beer is delicious and the chocolate flavoring is very good. It is a very good brown ale to enjoy and it is not heavy. The second beer is the Raspberry Wheat, and it is a very good, refreshing beer. It is a great summer beer to enjoy. The third beer is the Oatmeal Raisin Stout beer. Very good stout, wish I had a oatmeal raisin cookie to dip in the beer. This is a great brewery and definitely a place to visit! read more

Been trying to come here for a long time but their hours are tough, only opened a few hours a day. Was excited to try their beers of which they had 3 on tap. You immediately feel welcomed by the owners, they are so passionate and show their enthusiasm for their product. The sample was only $5 for a decent pour. Some bar style seating for you to enjoy your samples. I loved their uniqueness, there was one beer that they described as 'if Dunkin Donuts could sell beer this is what they would sell'. He was spot on! It is a white stout, what?? Nope they are not crazy, this beer was awesome! I am more of an IPA chick and always say that stouts taste the same, not usually a fan but this did it for me. Very impressed by the twist on a traditional stout.
