Smug is a great little spot in Pawtucket! We have been here several times and love that they host events like bonsai trees. They have lots of tables and a great selection of beer. They offered a sample with the Big Lewbrewski and their DIPA was tasty. They have a lot of games and often have food trucks outside. They have lots of beers to go and host good events

Stopped here for our 14th brewery drinks. They only have street parking, but we didn't have any problems finding a spot. They are located in an old mill building. Nice setting to have a drink. My partner got Smoke on the Lager which he thought was good and I got the blueberry seltzer (only flavor) which had a nice taste, but it had a beer flavor to it. They also had someone set up selling food, I'm not sure what was offered as we had already eaten. Worth the stop to check out if your in the area.

Man, let me tell you 'bout this brewery we stumbled upon. It was in this ancient, like really old building, man. We're talkin' halls and corridors everywhere, like we were lost in a freakin' maze. It felt like we wandered into some old-school, maybe a converted school house or somethin', you dig? But hey, gotta give props to the staff, man. They were super friendly and helpful, like the chillest dudes around. The service was on point, no complaints there. They had our backs, makin' sure we were taken care of. Now, here comes the bummer, man. The beer, oh boy, it was below average, to say the least. Some of it was straight-up bad, like a bad trip, you know? We were hopin' for some mind-blowing brews, but sadly, they fell short. The flavors were subpar, not livin' up to our expectations. I had the IPAs. A friend has a sour that was pretty good. Maybe the other styles are better than their IPAs. But you know, it's like I always say, you win some, you lose some, man. While the beer was a letdown, the friendly staff and great service made up for it a little bit.

Smug Brewing has consistently put out some of my favorite sours in RI. I've had both their blueberry and raspberry sours and both were excellent. The employees are all so friendly and the vibe is great. Tons of seating and game options for large groups too. Hope to see them bring back the raspberry sour soon!

These guys quickly transformed the former Bucket Brewery space and made it home. It's more open now, the bar/tasting area is larger and you can quickly get to the restrooms. Parking on the street looks hard, but it's not. Pull on the curb across from the brewery and head in. They had around 6-7 beers on draft and cans to take with. I had half pours of both stouts which were very good. Prices are pretty standard. You can get a taste, a half or full glass. Looking forward to seeing these guys grow and grateful they're in the neighborhood.

Nice job folks! Wasn't planning on stopping bye saw the sign said what the heck let's give it a try, low and behold it was their grand opening, was able to bean a ticket and enjoy the festivities. Nothing like a new brewery in town.

Great beer and easy curb-side pick up. Placing the order online was super easy and so was the pick up. Will definitely be getting more when we return!

Awesome little brewery just around the corner (or so) from me. One of those places I'm always like, "I need to stop in there." So I finally did and wow, great beer! I had a flight (4 beers)so I could sample a number of their options and I really enjoyed them all. I was a big fan of their Sour. I will be back.

My wife and I reserved a barrel online at Smug and it didn't disappoint. What a fun experience with very large pours! We did a bunch of flights and we played games!! Such an epic night! Beers are always changing and the experience is low key with a touch of awesomeness!

This place is a bit hard to find but a total gem in Pawtucket! They have food vendors on Saturdays and on this day they had a Jamaican food vendor, which sold patties (beef, chicken, or curry veggie) and coconut rice bowls. They were sadly all out of the veggie patties when we got there (around 5:30) but they offered to only make me half an order of the veggie rice bowl so it would be the same price ($6.00 - super affordable). I ordered the Lights Out Stout and it was delicious!! Had a coffee flavor and was great if you like dark beer. They have mostly IPAs but a decent selection. The environment there is a good vibe as well - would love to go back during the daytime.

Were in town for a quick weekend and stumbled upon this hidden gem. Their Little Miss Hazy is a must! A thirst quenching NE IPA. Their Cherry sour is also delicious. Be sure to grab a flight to try as many of their brews as you can.

Two beers on my flight. I enjoy they have rotating food vendors most times I am here!

I really enjoy Smug's beers and it's a great addition to Pawtucket! The brewery has six beers on tap and if you are an avid beer drinker looking to try them all, I suggest getting a flight. They typically have local food vendors on site which makes it nice to try various food trucks while grabbing a few beers.

Absolutely love this local brewery. Before COVID we would stop by here several times a month and enjoy a brew at their chill, comfortable bar and seating area. There was lots of room to spread out including a bench, small tables and a living room like area with a sofa and board games. There also used to be great events with local food trucks such as Burgundian Waffles from Attleboro and JA Patty from RI. Since COVID, we have continued to support this brewery by stopping by for some of their outdoor food truck features (the Cousin's Maine Lobster truck events are epic) and picking up four packs of beer using their online ordering platform and curbside pickup. My bf loves the Driving Miss Hazy IPA. I adored their Tiger King tribute beer and their Gourds Gone Wild pumpkin brew. Both of these were limited release. I also enjoy the Driving Miss Hazy, Short and Stout (tastes like coffee so yum) and the Chubby Unicorn (a whopping 9% ABV DIPA). Their new release Cabin Fever, a winter lager with 7% ABV has is a nice maple and caramel flavor that is perfect for this time of year. We've also purchased a lot of their merchandise including hats, tee shirts, long sleeve shirts and flannels to represent Pawtucket and their delicious beer. The staff here has also always been friendly, chill and excellent both when we were inside at the bar and with the curbside pick up. Many of the staff have been around long term and that is always a sign of a good business. I encourage you to order your special release brews early as the popular ones do fly quickly. Very convenient pick up arrangement right outside (pull up and text) and great COVID precautions: staff all wear masks and will gladly deposit the brews in your trunk so you don't even have to get out of your car.

I had a hard time choosing between the Pretty In Pink strawberry lager and the Apple Pie Seltzer, but the PIP was actually all out (so sad!!) so I went with the seltzer. It had a strong almost artificial scent, but a much more mild flavor. It wasn't too sweet and had notes of cinnamon - very unique and drinkable, although I don't think I'd need more than one. I was surprised and pleased to see they have a food menu. There's a pretty big parking lot but it's very uneven and filled with pot holes, and people park a little...erm...creatively - you've been warned. On weekends I've seen the main and overflow lot fill up, and I couldn't even find street parking, so had to go elsewhere - plan accordingly. The tap room is big and has nice bathrooms that are always clean. The main seating option are long picnic table benches - my back personally cannot do a backless seat for more than an hour without being in pain, so take that into consideration. It's also kind of awkward to swing your legs into the seat every time you have to get up, especially if it's full and you're in the middle. I'd love this place so much more if it just got normal tables and individual chairs with backs! My favorite thing about this brewery is that it is dog friendly and there are usually multiple gorgeous furry faces here to oggle over.

Macari first worked for toy manufacturer Hasbro before launching a custom cabinetry business with another former Hasbro colleague. Today he is involved in multiple businesses. For a new venture, Macari decided to open his own brewery with Neveu, another former Hasbro employee. The partners acquired and completely renovated the circa 1872 Berkeley Mill boiler room building to house the brewery. They named it "Phantom Farms" after the Macari family's local apple orchard and bakery just down the road. Oscar Garrido and Andrea Riera, a husband-and-wife team from Chile, were hired as the head brewers. Since opening, Phantom Farms has become known for its farm-to-pint operation, its close connection to its namesake orchard, a historic taproom, and award-winning lagers. I recently visited Phantom Farms Brewing while I was in town for the day. I was scheduled to meet up with some other beer bloggers. The first thing I noticed was how beautiful the restored historic building was. There was plenty of space upstairs and downstairs, indoors and outdoors, and the brewery is also family-friendly. After exploring all of the various rooms, I looked over the draught menu. There was an eclectic mix of beer styles as well as hard cider crafted with apples from the Phantom Farms Orchard. Between mingling with the other bloggers and playing some games of Biñho, I enjoyed pours of "Half Dark" (Czech Amber Lager), "Elegant Viking" (New England IPA), "Alternate Continuum" (Barrel-Aged Saison), and "Hypernova" (Barleywine). I was very impressed with everything that I tried, especially the last two. Between an excellent roster of beers, a beautiful historic space, and some excellent company, I had a really enjoyable experience at Phantom Farms and I highly recommend them to any craft beer aficionados who are visiting the area!

I do wish there were some lower chairs instead of all tall stools or the back nook - yaknow, for us short / awkward people. The outdoor areas out front or in back are dreamy in the warm weather, when they also open the garage door and let the warm air flow through (I once got pretty bit up in the back area outside though, so pro tip: wear pants or bug spray). Dogs are welcome here and I love to see the furry cuties visit. They offer multiple types of dog treats for four legged customers, which is such a thoughtful touch! The beer is focused on authentic, European lager / pilsner styles and doesn't switch up very often. Their beers are not very sweet, but they usually offer multiple types of pilsners and lagers at any given moment. The styles they specialize in are not my most favorite, which is my only reason for removing a star, but take a look at the menu - if those styles are your jam, they seem to be pretty authentic and you will probably love them. I usually go for the Pink Lemonade Seltzer and it's great and very fizzy. I went today as part of The Big Lebrewsky and they offered a "tasting," which to my delight consisted of a flight of 3 - very generous! I got the Coffee Stout (very strong), Irish Red (smoother and I enjoyed more than I thought- a solid choice!), and the Czech Pilsner (very light and goes down smoothly/easily). I loved this opportunity to branch out to some styles I don't always go for when I'm here. Special shout out to mascot Stella who always makes my day when she makes an appearance. It's usually easy to find street parking here, although the street has a decent amount of potholes, so keep an open eye lol. A cozy, fun place in a relaxed part of Providence just off the highway that's easy to access - great for an afternoon weekend or casual date night.

I've got to say mostly everything I tried was truly craft beer. I'm a hop head and was happy to see excellent IPAs being poured by many breweries present. I stayed away from the nationals because those beers are easily acquired at home. Having been to quite a few of these brewfests, it took a while to learn some discipline in regards to discarding an excellent beer. I tasted over 60 different beers/ciders, jotted down my thoughts, and reluctantly threw the remainder away, to be entered in Untapd later. I never would have gotten that many down if I decided to finish each one. My only gripe was the price. $35-$40 instead of $50 would have been more commensurate with the amount of breweries present and the small venue itself. I paid $53 last year at the Atlantic City BF where they had over 150 breweries, if I can use that as a comparison.

Parking could be a problem but we arrived early & found spots about a block away. The dark side of that is it was a frigid night & everyone had to stand in line outside in the wind & cold. Not that that could be helped but it was not pleasant. Thankfully, they had a great system going where they checked your ID on line, you got a wristband, & once the doors opened you could go right in. The armory is a cool building & I think a great spot for a brewfest. It was a bit crowded but people all seemed to be respectful of each other & it was fairly easy to get thru the crowds for samples. There were roughly 60 breweries represented, many of which were local to the New England area. I would say most of the samples I tried were very good to excellent. This crowd knows how to brew a good beer! There was a guy playing some decent music on the guitar in the corner (at least what I could hear of it). They had a couple of food stands, however we did not purchase any food so I can not comment on that. There were port-o-johns available. My only negative comment is I thought $50 was steep for this festival. It was a smaller venue. The Atlantic City Brewfest with twice the amount of breweries is only a little more expensive. That being said, it would not stop me from returning. We had a great time.
