We used awesome sweets for our wedding day desserts. We went in knowing we didn't want to do something traditionally and sue helped guide us to figure out what direction we wanted to go in. We decided to go with a personal cake (which she designed exactly the way we wanted it to look) and said yes to every request we made regarding mini desserts such as whoopie pies, cookies and cupcakes. It was awesome and people loved it!!

Best carrot cake ever. Easy ordering process. Amazing quality for the price. Sue is lovely and very professional. I WILL be ordering again very soon. Pics don't lie! This girl knows her stuff and is VERY talented!

My cake lady sold the business and moved down south. I MISS YOU MELISSA!! I walked into Awesome yesterday and noticed the change immediately- but sidenote I was unaware that the owners changed. The person working the counter explained everything to me but said don't worry- same recipes! I had reached out via email while they were on vacation for a cake for my son's birthday. I was given a quote and thought wow- that's high! I have bought at least 5 cakes from Melissa and only paid that much once when I was ordering for a large party not a dinner for 10. I just thought- well the times they are a changing! Now it makes sense. I changed my order to a dozen cupcakes. Bottom line: I was disappointed. The cupcakes were priced at over $3 a piece and they were small, inconsistent (look at the coloring of the actual cake and some were a little bigger and some a little smaller than others) and the icing was too sweet. I felt I did not spend my money wisely and even sadder, have lost my cake lady...

Sue was fantastic to work with! She was so easy to work with, creating whatever look I wanted. I had a lot of last minute changes to the wedding cake and Sue was very flexible and accommodating - I so appreciate it! We received lots of comments about how delicious the cake was from the guests. I can't wait to go back in a year for an anniversary cake (red velvet with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream icing).

I had ordered a special cake topper on Etsy and our cake was exactly what I wanted to complement the topper!

Awesome Sweets is awesome! The service is kind, courteous and professional. They created a cake for our backyard wedding celebration that was EXACTLY what I wanted and it was delicious! All wedding cakes can be expensive but their prices were reasonable compared to most others. I highly recommend Awesome Sweets!

Curious to find anyone who has used this bakery for a wedding cake, and would you mind sharing your experience? Or any nontraditional sweet treat suggestions?

Also not greasy. Also tried the plantain- I am partial to the sweet ones. This was ok I just like 'em sweeter. I look forward to going back. Ladies behind counter were super. Parking can be challenging especially seeing this restaurant runs on Lonsdale Ave a busy street in itself. The line was out the door and that's where I stood waiting patiently. The love moves at a decent pace. Here finally my turn and I honestly had no clue what to expect or what they even really sold but I was hoping they had anything that contained ham and cheese and they did, Brad with ham and cheese for $3.50 I was surprised that was all. They do gave finger foods, drinks coffee and fruit drinks, breads, pastries of many sorts. I was tempted to get a pastry but I stayed focused. The bread was actually good and tasted fresh they only concern which was a big one for me was that there was hardly any ham and cheese in it and I mean like barely none. I could have actually went with just bread as that's what I felt I received. Would I return maybe especially if I am in mood for something g sweet as the variety was plenty to choose from. There is a sit down area on both sides of the restaurant with one big screen tv. This place seems more of a grab and go type establishment. They open at 5:00am and close at I believe 9:00 pm

Service is excellent - orders are efficiently taken and the employees are all polite and friendly. Prices might look a little high when you walk in, but I think they are actually fair for what you get: a fresh baked bubble waffle, delicious small batch ice cream in interesting flavors, toppings such as fresh fruit, mochi, nuts, etc. Wish there was indoor seating, but the outdoor seating area is nice. Glad that they have water and cups available, as well as cardboard containers to lay down your ice cream and waffle in because they are sooo big! Also, I didn't see it on the menu, but I did see some people purchase ice cream without waffles, so if you want something a little smaller, that is an option too.

But I thought that one cookie was great! At first, I was hesitant as the trendy pink decor was reminiscent of Crumbl, whose cookies I do not enjoy. So I was expecting Feed the Cheeks to serve me some generic, overly sweet gimmicky monstrosity that would make me ill. But no! I ordered the chocolate strawberry cookie and I really liked it. It wasn't overly sweet, but balanced in its flavor. The strawberry icing wasn't thick and gross and overly sweet either. The chocolate was rich and because they warmed it up, perfectly ooey gooey. If I had been a little more cognizant of my surroundings instead of getting worked up by the iPad ordering system (can we please bring back human interaction?), I probably would've gotten a four pack of the mini cookies and sampled a few flavors. But when in Rome, order the giant cookies. The cookie still tasted good when I finished it at work the next day, too. The inside is what you'd expect, and very pink. And there's a few short stools at a very low counter you can sit at. I had some time to kill so I sat and ate my cookie there. Passersby looked down on us from the large windows facing Angell Street. Maybe they were jealous that they didn't treat themselves to a big cookie, or maybe they were cherishing their own willpower as they looked forward to the kale salad awaiting them at home. Either way, the cookie was a great choice!

For myself I chose the banana pudding and for my hubby, the mint n chip. They double-bagged them and I put them on the floor in front of the floor AC and turned that baby on full blast. To my surprise, they were completely in tact when I arrived home. Yes, I was freezing the whole ride back given it was 51 degrees and rainy. Anyways onto the ice cream sammies - my hubby loved his. I thought mine was good but I felt like the cookie was too rich - it definitely did not need the chocolate dipped side with peanuts. I'm not sure why but this combo wasn't super appealing to me. The ice cream was very good but more on the sweeter side. Next time I'm in the area I want to try the strawberry taco.
