    a wedding cake

Amy made me the most beautiful cake for our "would be wedding day" during covid 19. Everyone in my family was blown away at how moist and fresh the cake was, on top of how delicious the frosting was. Can't forget how beautiful it was too!! Absolutely delicious

Check out the awesome treats I decorated in their Valentine's themed class.

This a review of their Valentine's Chocolate Workshop and their products. Get to know chocolate on a deeper level at Amy's Apples. Amy and her crew offer fun chocolate decorating classes that teach you the basics of working with this tricky ingredient - very handy for the beginner chocolatier! We learned how to temper chocolate so it's just right for decorating. From there, she taught us tips and tricks on decorating with chocolate. From swirls to roses to proper beading, I got to practice my decorating skills on parchment paper before moving on to an edible blank canvas. I have to tell you - I couldn't control myself from eating my decorations once they dried. #chocoholic We learned how to properly dip cake pops and apples in chocolate and fun ways to decorate them. I decorated two cookies, two cake pops (one of which we learned how to shape into a heart!) and a caramel apple. Amy treated us to two bon bons (YUM) and samples of the cookie and brownies (so we wouldn't have to dig into our confectionery visions just yet). The staff was really fun, helpful and patient. I will definitely take another class here. They're always available for private parties! Such a fun, different way to celebrate a birthday! THE GOODS: So after nibbling on samples of the brownie cake pop (fudge-y, not cake-y), their cookies and their AMAZING bon bons, I can attest that Amy's Apple's Devilish Delights taste JUST as good as they look, if not better.

I am so happy my baby shower cake and apples from Amy! The cake was absolutely delicious and moist! The candy apples were guest favors and they were all gone before I could even take a picture of them!

The chocolate covered Oreos I ordered for my sister's bridal shower were great! They were so nice to work with and I am very happy with the result!

Not only did Amy accomodate me on short notice, but the cake was exactly what my daughter requested, not to mention amazingly delicious.

We started with the Chicken Marsala Stuffed Mushrooms, which were packed with rich, savory flavor. I ordered the 'Shroomy Grilled Cheese, and it was next-level comfort food; gooey, earthy, and perfectly balanced. My husband and aunt both had the New School Smash Burger, and they couldn't stop raving about it. Every dish was bursting with flavor and truly "to die for." Our server, David, made the night even better. He was attentive, upbeat, and genuinely kind; an overall great spirit with a fantastic attitude who elevated the entire dining experience. David even brought us some of their popcorn, which was so delicious and such a fun extra touch. We loved the food, we loved the service, and we will definitely be back; highly recommend.

It has almost a cult-like following after reading the reviews. In my experience, everything I have ordered was okay ... but nothing incredibly amazing vs. the price. I have not seen higher menu prices outside of Manhattan. Two sandwiches and one beer came to $78 after the tip. You read that correctly ... a burger with fries, a pulled pork sandwich with side salad and the cheapest draft beer on the menu ... $78!!! The wings/tenders were over $20 ... in fact, other than the side upgrades, nothing on the menu was under $20. If you are charging $25 for a 'diner burger' and fries, it better be an amazing burger. Mine was no better than Five Guys and less tasty than a Shake Shack. Given the prices, one wouldn't expect that you'd get potato chips with your burger. In order to get French fries ... it's a $5 upcharge. A side salad is $9. I don't mind paying more for quality ... and Blackie's quality is probably high as their meats, vegetables, potatoes, etc. all list the origin place. However high the quality is, for me anyways, the food doesn't seem much different taste-wise, than anywhere else that is much less expensive. Having said that, the portions are huge. The nachos look like they are meant for an entire table and everything is served on metal cafeteria-style trays. Good for them though because the place is huge and always packed. The crowd here is very typical 'Rhode Island'. Expect to see a lot of anchor tattoos, lifted Jeeps with no doors in the parking lot, young 20 - 40 year old crowd who probably played high school football or baseball back in the day and still enjoy telling stories about it. There are no shortage of cross-fitters here. There is a nice buzz of conversation and energy ... but this is not the place you want to go if you don't like crowds. Inside is weird. The walls are painted black and the chairs/tables look like something in a boutique hotel. It looks a little more like a corporate hotel lobby or wedding function hall vs. a restaurant ... especially given the typical crowd. This is not the sports bar it appears to be on the outside. Overall, my 3-stars may seem harsh. But that's an average score ... and honestly, my food has always been average. Maybe I need to try the pizza. If you have deep pockets and like huge portions, you probably won't be disappointed in this place. The service is great, although 2 people working a packed bar, you will wait a bit if you need anything. Also, I came to watch the big game and for some reason they hung pendant lights which dangle down from around the bar. While they make everyone look better, the TVs are blocked by the lights. Very odd.

I've seen on social media that people complained about the new location having mainly street parking - we both found parking easily on the street - quit yer b*tchin' people lol. Besides I believe they have a lot behind the restaurant that we didn't have to use but it's there if needed. We were the only ones there when we first walked in but more patrons came in as the night went on. Made our way to the bar and orders were flowing - one warning if you're sitting at the bar, it is an open kitchen so there will be alot of aromas flowing through and may get on your clothes but really it'll just remind you of how good the food was. Also, the barstools are not the most comfy - metal stools with no backing so after 2.5 hours, we were feeling a bit achy. We ordered way more than we should've but everything just looked so good! We got the croquettes (our absolute fave), the cauliflower, the pizza du jour (I think it had spinach, pepperoni, ricotta and garlic) and for entrees we got the fish tacos and the Orecchiette. Not one complaint - everything was divine. Croquettes were melty, smoky little nuggets of heaven and our favorites bites of the night. The pizza had a great balance of flavors and the crust was thin and crispy. We were so full but had a few bites of the fish tacos and pasta - the fish was cooked to perfection and the aioli it came with topped it perfectly. Pasta was different - had a scallion cream sauce that was a nice change up from your typical Alfredo. Don't sleep on this place - the street is busy being on a main road but so well worth the visit, I didn't catch our bartender's name but he and a few other servers were super personable and friendly - gave us just enough time in between meals and personal space to not hover. Absolutely will return!
