Sin is one of the best bakeries in RI! Any baked goods I've ad from here is amazing! I especially love their mini pies that they make especially for pi day. It's been a tradition for a few years and l love it. I always go for key lime. It's so tasty! I've worked or done classes from here a few times. Their coffee is yummy and their space is colorful and inviting. The staff is always friendly too. I love sin. It's a providence gem!
Totally upbeat and positive experience like always. So it's HENEH. Perfect he was very wonderful. He was acceptable. He also explained what things were and we're waiting on too good to go back but we always get our coffee from here so we can relax a little bit before we go someplace else but was an incredible server really good behind the counter experience and patience. as always. It was nice and quiet here in the streets not too busy today so able to find good parking. I wish they had more outside seating.
Stopped here late on a Saturday afternoon and there was still a very good selection of desserts. I got the blueberry lemon bomb, blackberry and champagne gluten free cupcakes. The blueberry bomb was incredible and worth the high price of $10. I was less impressed with the blackberry cupcake as it was a little dry and the frosting not very sweet. The champagne cupcake was a pleasant surprise as some of the GF stuff I've got in the past (other bakeries) just weren't good. This cupcake was super moist and flavorful. Will definitely be returning here for more delectable goodies!
Met here briefly and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. The space is very nice, I liked the floral painting on the wall. There's a case of baked goodies including a good amount of gluten-free options and a bar, which is cool. I grabbed the bacon breakfast sandwich which was super yummy. I like the biscuit and *woo* it's gluten-free! I also grabbed the orange cardamom mousse bombe to go. It wad light and had a yummy sponge cake inside. I couldn't finish it by myself!
I've always loved Sin, but I loved them a little bit extra today. I came in looking for a sweet gluten-free treat, & was delighted to find that there were so many options. The nice employee behind the counter pointed them all out to me - Not once, but twice. I had a vicious case of morning brain. I checked out with a gluten-free cupcake for $3.50 (which I think is decently reasonable, considering the size, quality, & lack of gluten) but couldn't get the breakfast sandwiches out of my head. So I joined the back of the line again to make a second purchase. I decided on a bacon breakfast sandwich on a gluten-free biscuit. The employee even toasted it for me. It was *so* good. Small, but mighty. I haven't had a biscuit in what feels like a century & so this sandwich nearly brought me to tears. Sin is a bakery, yes, but don't miss out on their coffee shop vibes during the day & quiet bar vibes at night.
The space is clean and colorful. They have great gluten-free and vegetarian options. I've ordered cakes from here that have been absolutely mouth watering delicious.
I purchased tickets to the dessert holiday tasting at sin and it was more than what I was expecting. They had a table show casing the holiday desserts we were going to sample and not only did it look delicious they tasted pretty good too! Once you had the opportunity to sample the desserts your stomach can take, there is a chance for you to place an order for the holiday and receive 10% off the desserts that were displayed. I really loved how they allowed us to grab as many desserts as we want, complementary coffee and water was available, and I didn't feel rush. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. I originally had a table right by the AC and when my friend asked to move to a different table they were super nice about it and let us move. A introduction of the tasting experience would have added a nice touch but overall I had a pleasant experience and my sweet tooth was definitely satisfied.
i ordered a too good to go order from here and thankfully i scored a parking spot right up front, when I walked inside the atmosphere is very peaceful and the murals on the wall are beautiful! i was greeted right away and it only took about 30 seconds to get my order, inside my mystery box was a bunch of brownies and they were absolutely delicious will definitely come by here again to try some more treats and eat inside! p.s if you haven't tried the too good to go app definitely check it out it offers mystery boxes from many different places at discount prices to help reduce food waste!
Got a birthday cake from here with red velvet filling. Cake turned out great and tasted amazing. It wasn't too sweet which I liked. The cake was reasonably priced and served 18-20 people. They have rolls and other good stuff too. Would definitely recommend getting a cake from here.
Have had many items from Sin and never have had a complaint. Came tonight for the Holiday Preview Tasting. Everything was great! My faves were the tiramisu, chocolate cream pie, orange cranberry cheesecake and the chocolate chip cookie. The best thing I ate though was the biscuit with honey butter! Top 3 Espresso Martini in my book. Great night and I hope there is a Christmas preview!! Lots of seating and everyone was so friendly!
I ordered my daughters birthday cake there on September 31st. I sent them the picture of a high heart cake and asked them to duplicate it in pink. We got the 8 inch.The cake was perfect! We got champagne with strawberry buttercreme frosting and it was the best buttercreme frosting I ever had! Everyone loved it. My daughter loved it so much she ordered a heartshaed red velvet with cream cheese frosting in between the layers and a buttercreme frosting on the outside. It was a disco decorated cake and my daughter said it was the best red velvet cake she ever had! I can't wait to order more cakes for the holidays! Anyone old enough to remember Ann's Bakery in Silverlake and loved their frosting needs to order their cakes ftom here with the buttercreme frosting. It is perfect and not to sweet like most are. Definitely best cakes ever!
Sin is nestled in an ecclectic and interesting place and there was so much to see in the area on this beautiful day. There's a few tables tucked against the building as well as seating inside. There was also a flowchart at the entrance to help you decide if you needed a mask. I love a good flowchart! They are themed after dessert being a sinful thing. But it's all portioned in not so gluttonous servings. They are also clearly well known for their event cakes - the models looked amazing. They gave me my iced coffee with room to add, oat milk and liquid sugar was at the bar. They use New Harvest here, so of course it's local and it's good! I also had to have the Boston... er... Providence Creme Pie. It was nice and thick, not too sweet, not too soft. They will make you want to come back for more. #RIFoodFights #BestIcedCoffeeRI #BuyLocalRI

Dropped in for an RI Food Fights cookie and left with a a spinach feta scone and a cayenne peanut butter cookie. The feta scone was to die for. I'd go back just for that, but they have an awesome roomy space and a ton of other things to choose from as well. More on the scone for a second.. Flaky, buttery, salty, filling, everything about it was fantastic. Okay, the cookie. The spicy pb cookie, it was very complex, had me pondering everything I knew about peanut butter cookies with the layers of flavor and sensations. That said, it was a too hard in my opinion for a peanut butter cookie. Generally I think "soft baked" texture with pb cookies. This one was hard and crunchy. Not bad, but just threw me off a bit. Stop in, try out their food. You won't be disappointed. Took all the will power to not get this awesome looking raspberry bomb/dome tart.. Next time. Staff is awesome as well. Always Thankful for patience when I'm choosing out pastry at a bakery because it's a tough decision to make that takes time! read more

I came back to Sin on a Thursday afternoon. The display case had fall pastries like a Pumpkin Mousse Bombe ($10.00) and it looked marvelous. It was very smooth and creamy, simply delicious. The outside shell and the pumpkin inside was packed with flavor. I also really enjoy the graham cracker base. My husband had the yodel ($4.00), a chocolate cake rolled with a buttercream filling and covered with chocolate and sprinkles. He enjoyed his pastry as well. Later that day, I saw Sin posted on their instagram that they were unfortunately closing the retail storefront and going back to focusing on custom cakes and speciality dessert orders. The last day the bakery will be open is Sunday, September 21st. I was so glad I was able to stop by before they closed. read more
Love Sin! Jen and her crew make the most delicious treats. It's a really cool shop and I have never had any issue with finding parking nearby. I especially love the pies... for pi day I recently ordered a key lime pie and lemon meringue! My dog also loves their dog treats. read more

I went into grab a quick dessert and noticed dog treats behind the counter I decided to grab three for my dog & the dog I watch. When I got home I discovered the treats were covered in mold. I was so disappointed and disgusted I felt weird consuming my desserts. I called to let the server know and they informed me they noticed after I had left. Luckily, they pulled them off the shelves, but I couldn't get a refund over the phone and I wasn't going to make it back to the area before close. read more

So I have heard about Sin for quite a while, but never really looked into their cakes until we needed one for a special event. I was impressed with their drip cakes and that they do semi-custom decorating from their regular drip cakes. Well their semi-custom cakes put others fully custom to shame! This was one of the most impressive looking cakes that I have ever seen, and certainly the best tasting by far! The frosting is like biting into a cloud and the cake is just as good. I will have a hard time not going to Sin for my next cake... or other tasty treat! read more
Nice bakery with a coffee shop vibe on Westminster Street. They have vegan and traditional baked goods, clearly marked. The wall mural is gorgeous with colorful red poppies. We love that they are here in our neighborhood, and we support local businesses! Three small issues. 1. The water in the sink in the bathroom is scaldingly hot. There's no way to control the temperature, and it was impossible to wash my hands because the water was so burning. 2. The milk steamer on the espresso machine is finicky and the barista had difficulty making our drinks in a timely manner. 3. They now close at 5:00 on Sunday which was a little too quick for us seeing as we only arrived at 4:30 for an afternoon warm drink and snack. read more

I've now visited this little bakeshop twice in the last 2 weeks and have been extremely happy with both of my choices. Quality ingredients assure you that the end result will not only be eye appealing, but extremely delicious! I've eaten outside during both visits, but I can see that the inner cafe area is well decorated and very comfortable looking. I'm going to have to try some of their cocktails on my next trip, the ingredients on a few of them sounded interesting. read more

All I can say is WOW! I was totally impressed with the amazing cake they made for my wine_dine_adventures account reaching 5,000 followers on Instagram!!! The decorating was beyond perfect and the cake was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! Hands down one of the best cakes EVER!! I will be back for the next event!!!! read more

Operating under the motto "eat wicked, never feel guilty," Sin has been serving Providence since 2007, a reputation established by Special Occasion Cakes since expanding to include Coffee and Baked Goods plus an evening Tasting Menu offering Desserts paired to Cocktails. Using quality ingredients with care, local when possible, it was for Thanksgiving 2020 that four Pies were ordered for take-out, Pumpkin fairly predictable while Pecan and Chocolate Cream each proved indulgent but not overly sweet before finishing with nicely roasted Apples beneath buttery Cinnamon Crumble. read more
I was in Rhode Island for a work trip and my best friend and I had a sweet tooth...We found this place on Yelp (obviously). We showed up and the staff originally did not want to open the door to us due to there being a closed event happening when we showed up - but they let us in anyway. How nice! They really didn't have to do that. Perhaps the hypoglycemia was glimmering in our eyes and they knew we needed sugar STAT! We accidentally took a little longer than expected picking out what we wanted because there was such a variety of cookies and cupcakes and cakes and treats and we couldn't pick :-( - I think the staff were a little annoyed but they didn't show it. They were super nice and cracking jokes with us the whole time and the people who were there for the event barely paid attention to us. They were drinking, talking, and completely unbothered. GREAT! So long story short, we ended up leaving with two full boxes of cupcakes, brownies, and cookies. Several different flavors for each. So when we got back to my hotel we had one cupcake each. And possibly a cookie...or two. How many actually doesn't even matter. The point is - they were delicious and well worth crashing a private event andddd I would definitely recommend you going if you haven't tried Sin already. Thank you Alex and Jason for not getting sick of us and allowing us into the shop for treats. You guys are really awesome! read more
Ever since I started eating more in Providence, I always had my eyes on Sin. Their plated desserts named after the seven sins grabbed my attention immediately. In September, I saw Envy, a matcha Swiss roll, and as the biggest matcha fan, I knew this would be the best time to finally try Sin. It was 5pm on a Saturday (we arrived earlier, but we're told plates start after 5pm), with only two other customers towards the back. We ordered Lust, the tiramisu, and my beloved matcha roll. You sit down and they bring both plates to you. As we waited, I admired the pastry case and resisted the urge to buy a cupcake. Along the pastry case is the bar with a good assortment of alcohol. I'm more into sweets so I can't recall what they had for brands. When the plates came out, they were beautiful. The matcha Swiss roll came with a small scoop of mint gelato and roasted pineapple. The tiramisu came with lavender mascarpone cream. They are more on the expensive side (~$7 a plate), so you pay for the presentation. We both loved our sins. The matcha taste was evident, but not too strong (I love strong, but not everyone does). The gelato was flavorful and everything worked together very well. We will definitely be back to try more plates! read more
I use to have an apartment steps from this place so it kills me that they opened after I moved. All the treats I've sampled here have been fantastic. The chocolate chip cookies are particularly delicious. They're teeny but packed with chocolate chips and topped with a little sea salt to really make that cookie pack a punch. The cupcakes are fantastic. The chocolate buttercream frosting is heavenly. Light, fluffy, and pretty much what chocolate dreams are made of. I have yet to hang out in their cool space but they have a full bar and are open late so I'd imagine that's a fun time. Desserts and alcohol? What can be bad about that?! read more
The best thing that this bakery has going for them is there stuff. Truly the nicest people ever. I stopped in for the Vegout food fights challenge and got two vegan cupcakes. Course I had to get other things because Mike has to have a chocolate chip cookie from any bakery I ever go to. Mike loved both the cupcakes and the cookies were delicious. I don't see anything different from ones with gluten and eggs and butter. The coffee is excellent and The other pastries just looked amazing. It's a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy your coffee and pastry and watch the world go by. read more

Amazing custom Halloween cake! I gave them creative freedom and they stayed under budget and did not disappoint. The cake was absolutely delicious!! We will definitely order from here again! Highly recommend read more

I've been eagerly awaiting the reopening of this shop in its new location on the west end. What a neat concept - specialty desserts plus part coffee shop and part bar - what's not to like! My obvious excitement was difficult to contain as we approached the dessert showcase and oohed and ahhed at all the scrumptious pastries that were before us. We ordered the gluttony tasting plate which featured five different samplings of some of their most popular items plus some iced coffee and I'm pleased to report that everything we tasted was yummy. Bruce the bartender was a wealth of knowledge and was keeping his guests entertained with stories and musings. He was fun to watch and he enjoyed speaking at length about all the special cocktails he was mixing up. I'll admit that I was a bit taken back by the aloofness of the woman running the coffee bar area. I really wanted her to speak passionately and at length about some of the pastries we were showing interest in, but she didn't. While she answered all of our questions, I wish she had been more friendly. read more
WHERE HAS THIS PLACE BEEN HIDING? It's no sin to love a bakery called Sin, especially when they make such heavenly pastries and desserts, and have some of the friendliest baristas in the business manning the counter with a smile and engaging conversation as well. We were lucky enough to stumble upon this place after attending a flea market down the street at Ogie's Trailer Park restaurant. My boyfriend and I like to think of ourselves as quirky, lovable goth kids, so of course we were drawn in by the logo glowing red on the sign outside: a three layered cake with devil horns. Intriguing! We stepped inside to find not the hellscape we were expecting, but instead an inviting and sparkling clean cafe that features a wide array of delectable delights, like house made cinnamon rolls, seasonal macarons, and several different kinds of cupcakes in a large case for optimal viewing while you make the impossible decision of what to choose, cafe drinking featuring homemade syrups (check out the smoked honey syrup to add a kick to your coffee or tea!), and a bar that stays open from five PM onward to give night owls a little bit more stimulation than caffeine can provide with craft beers and creative, seasonal cocktails. While we had to run off to dinner plans and unfortunately couldn't stay to taste one of the fancier plated desserts on the "Seven Deadly Sins" inspired menu, we did split a fantastic chocolate buttercream frosted cupcake with whimsical marzipan devil horns atop it. Not only did it make for a great Instagram photo, it was also quite tasty, especially the frosting. God, I'd eat a bowl of that stuff alone! I also got a hot cup of Apple Berry tea, and my boyfriend got a simple but well made cup of coffee. They use Mem Tea and New Harvest Coffee (made in Providence!), so you know you're getting quality. The baristas, Mikey and Katie, made the experience even better, with great customer service and sparkling conversation. They're fabulous, and tell them Morgan and Gary sent you if you go in! We are so happy to have had the serendipitous fortune to find Sin, and look forward to returning to sample more of their tantalizing treats! read more

I guess the second time is a charm! The first we came here, I found the bartender fairly obnoxious and unnecessarily pretentious; the service and baked goods were okay. However, last night spun that experience in a 180. The guy who helped us was hilarious and speedy - he gave some good recommendations, too. The baked goods - vegan coconut cupcakes and a passion fruit scone - were incredible! On our way out, I turned to my wife and said "wow, that was different!" Definitely will come back - maybe that first time was a lark! read more
This place was recommended by a friend of mine that lives LITERALLY down the street. I am a pastry chef (from out of town) one of my bestest friends is expecting so, yay baby shower! This meant I had to be in charge of the sweets table (I am very picky and a bit snobby when it comes to sweets). This little gem right here is truly the best bakery in Providence... AND it's open til late! What coffee shop do you know closes at 11pm? Besides the fact that their operating hours are awesome; they did an AMAZING JOB on my order. When i walked in, i was welcomed by the barista and they quickly took my order. The gloss on the key lime tart was just winking at me through the counter so i had to try it, it. BEST. DECISION. EVER. Perfect combination of sweetness and tartness, the meringue has THE perfect crunch... and the crust, that crust was so crumbly and so good. Back to my babyshower order: I had very high expectations of the cake and the cupcakes, and they were truly everything i expected. I've had a fair share of places where i was very disappointed on a simple order, and the fact that I'm very picky and criticize a whole lot doesn't help. Needles to say, THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I had a customized flavored cake (chocolate with dulce de leche buttercream- not on their menu, but they made it, just for us! - talk about great customer service ) Also ordered BLUE VELVET CUPCAKES (also not on their menu but they accommodated...ALSO DELICIOUS) I seriously cannot thank them enough for making our event that much sweeter.
