Stopped at this location after only going to the Providence one before. I grabbed three things; a salted caramel crumb cake slice, a bismarck and a discounted day-old donut. My favorite was the bismark. Oh man! The Italian pastry cream filling was amazing and the dough was so fresh. The salted caramel crumb cake was very moist throughout. But the "crumb topping" wasn't like a typical coffee crumb style. It had little pieces of it, but mostly a frosting and a caramel sauce - which were fantastic tbh. And for the powdered donut, I could tell the dough itself was a touch old as it was a little dry, but the strawberry filling was on point and there was plenty of it. read more

May 25, 2026. I bought Spinach, Eggplant and Meatball calzones. These aren't even Calzones. They are pieces of as calzone which aren't very good and way overpriced. The dough is not even a fourth of an inch thick causing the ingredients to totally wet the dough and it becomes inedible. Whoever heard of making a calzone this way. Threw everything in the trash. Plus they are way overpriced for a "piece" of a wet calzone. I also bought a Fruit tart. Same thing...crust at the bottom was wet and very little taste with over-ripened fruit. They should have been thrown away, not sold for over $6.00. I also went there a while back and bought a Blueberry pie to take to someone's dinner party. When the pie was cut, nothing but blueberry juice came out...no Blueberries. It was quite embarrassing and quite expensive to boot. I called about the pie and spoke to a very arrogant woman who said they had never had any complaints about their pies! I told her that this was a major slip up on her part and I wouldn't be back. She hung up on me! Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money there. Go to the Original Italian Bakery instead. I do not know how DeLuise stays in business but this probably explains why there are so few cars ever there. read more

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. I ordered a birthday cake for a to be ready at noon. It was very simple yellow vanilla cake with sprinkles. I got a call 10 minutes before my pick up time and was told that they didn't make it. I told the lady that took the order (Nicole ) to make sure to call me early in the morning if there was any issue with my order. She assured me she would call but that she was certain there would be no problem. She even promised there are always extra premade vanilla cakes on hand .I was told there were no premade extra vanilla cakes. She said they would give me a $10 gift card for the inconvenience . No thank you ! That's not going to make up for leaving me without a cake for a child's birthday. They are the most unreliable and unprofessional place I have ever encountered. read more

This review is based on my visit in February for the #BestDonutsRI competition.    The parking lot is part of a small outlet strip, but spots were open around 10:30am on a Saturday.   There was a good amount of bakery goods and donuts. This location offers a slightly different selection compared to the Providence Deluise Bakery. I'm not sure if it was the lighting, but this location is better lit and has a better vibe, as well. There was a small line, but it moved quickly.   The donuts were in the case below the register and easy to see. We chose the Sugar Raised Donut and the Reese's Raised Donut. I'm not sure why, but the dough from this Deluise was sweeter than the Providence location. Maybe these are a different batter or fresher? I prefer these donuts over the Providence Deluise location. read more

My mother lives in Cranston, and no trip to visit my mother would ever be complete without stopping at DeLuise Bakery. For me their donuts are perfection and if they weren't unhealthy, I could probably eat a dozen with coffee in one sitting. I also need to mention their spinach calzones which I could live off of! That's not to say that the other items they sell here aren't as good, because they are! It can get crowded, that's fine with me and parking is tight. Deluise in Cranston is probably the best bakery for pastries in the state and beyond. We have been patronizing Deluise for over 40 years and one of the things we loved most was their danish, especially the size of their danish. We do not eat them every day but when we did, it was always a real treat. Not long ago, we noticed the size of their danish has shrunk considerably and we were so disappointed, especially since the price stayed the same. If they think their customers did not notice, believe me they do and it sort of changed the experience of eating a great danish. You can't eat two to make up for the smaller size because eating more than one is gluttonous. The original size was just right.....not too big or small. The new size is about a third smaller. We would have paid more for the original sized danish. Now, we find we do not want to make a trip to Deluise for what used to be something that was very special. The original sized danish in any flavor was perfection and they should not have messed with perfection. read more

Deluises is a very good Italian bakery. The bakery is filled with traditional assortments of Italian pastries, pies, and breads. This morning the bakery was busy and the customers formed a line outside the building to accommodate the three-person rule due to Covid. My husband and I split a chocolate frosted donut and a coffee cake. We really liked the chocolate donut, but the coffee cake was so-so. The donut is a top-tier donut in RI, and my only wish was that their was more delicious frosting on it. Definitely worth a repeat trip. read more

I am so lucky to live near this bakery. It is a traditional Italian bakery with fresh bread that you can buy whole or they will slice it for you. They have pizza strips and pizza rounds with cheese and with cheese and pepperoni or just plain. They have beautiful pastries and cheese cakes and cakes. The service is excellent and the bakery is so clean. I so much enjoy coming here but it's one of those places where you go in for 1 thing and end up with an armful. They also have a new sugar free cake which I'm very excited about. I'm anxious to try it tonight and I am sure it will be as good as the rest of their products. Service was lackluster and rude.... was literally yelled at for walking in. I get that there's a limit to how many people are allowed, and I respect that, but they should really put up a sign because being greeted in such a manner is really off putting. There was no "hi" or "hello" it was just "GET OUT ONLY THREE PEOPLE ALLOWED IN" Like, okay, fine, I get it. We stepped out. I didn't think anything of it until what came after. Once we were let inside, tons of people flooded in behind us and no one else was told to leave. One person even had his whole nose out. What a horrible experience this was. Clearly stated that they were still taking orders for Christmas, and then the whole staff argues right in front of us that "she can't make an order it's too late." So beyond rude. Absolutely not one ounce of customer service employed there. There's five women working and all of them are SCREAMING over eachother. I was in there for 15 minutes and walked out with a blistering headache. Then on top of it all, I tried to buy a slice of pizza and use a gift card, and they say the gift card is only valid at the Providence location. I have never heard of a chain excluding a gift card to one location. Get your pastry literally anywhere else- not worth the headache from this place. read more

I have been here 6 or 7 times and everything was fresh and tasty. Today I was disappointed. I purchased a chocolate pastry twist(not sure if name right), made from pie crust dough and chocolate and chocolate chips filling. It was very good. Fresh and what I expected for taste. I also tried a chocolate cake roll for the first time. Unfortunately it wasn't up to the standards I am use to from DeLuise Bakery in Cranston. The cake was stale and dry on the outside of the roll. In the middle it wasn't as dry but you could tell it wasn't fresh. The frosting was overly sweet, dry and crusty on the outside. A small frosting drop decoration was so dry it fell of in the box. Not the quality I am use to from this bakery. The inside was clean and the help was very friendly, kind and engaging. I imagine it must be difficult to manage baked goods to sell on a daily biases, but this chocolate cake roll was clearly not fresh and should not have been sold. Please sell me fresh baked goods even if the selection is reduced, don't sell me stale products. I will go to this bakery again. I just may not try products which may not sell as quickly as others. This is probably my second favorite bakery. The brownies and fig squares are really good and flavorful. My family has always liked this bakery, but they used to go to the one on Chalkstone Ave in Providence. The selection of cakes and pies is good, but more limited, although they usually have a large selection of pastries. I have a few favorites which include: fig squares, lemon squares, apple turn overs, hermits, spice cakes, Russian tea cakes, brownies and cupcakes. I find the prices to be more reasonable here, but the bakery seems to have an older worn out feel. Its clean, but just not as fancy as other bakeries. read more

Let me start by saying that the only reason I gave the extra star was because I really liked the pizza the first few times I had it. I recently moved to the area and was put on to this place and I lovedddd the small pizza rounds. I decided to order a dozen for my roommates and myself on THURSDAY of this week. We started with a piece Thursday, a piece on Friday, and then a few on Saturday. When we got to the bottom half they were all hard (which I thought was from being in the fridge and it would loosen in the oven-it didn't) the pizza looked completely different. The sauce normally stains the sides, this had none. It looked like it was covered in cheese when normally it's a perfect amount, and the sauce was orange instead of red, it was completely weird and about 7 pieces weren't edible. I called (this morning, two days after purchase) to ask if maybe they gave me the wrong type of pizza, or maybe it was a bad batch?! But the lady assured me it was my fault for leaving them in the box they come in (who would think to put them in a bowl like she suggested?) Long story short I wasted my money and nothing was done to resolve the situation or make it better. Instead I was told "you should put them in a bowl next time" Well at this point, there won't be a NEXT TIME. --side note, I ate a piece the same day before I called that was fine!!! I went yesterday and spent $75 on pastries and pizza. I can offer a few things. Their wine and pepper biscuits are the best store made biscuits ever. $5.50 a dozen is the most I've ever paid for biscuits, but they are very good. Coronets are delicious. They had a real cream filling and were delicious. Lobster tails were crispy, stuffed with cream, and very good. Coffee rolls were good. I thought they had too much glaze though. Pizza and spinach pies were ok. The pizza was oily. I got oil all over unwrapping each slice from its plastic wrap. I had to toast it to crisp it up and then it was ok. I didn't care for the sauce. Every bakery has a sheet pizza with soggy thick crust and a bland topping. Guess I just don't care for them. Spinach pies had better dough. Probably the same, but crispy and dry. Plain spinach inside. Pastries and biscuits were much, much better. read more

This is possibly the best bakery in Rhode Island. Go there early on a Saturday morning and you will find the cases filled up with a beautiful variety of all kinds of pastries, breads, pizzas, cakes, pies and pepper and wine biscuits. The pricing is so affordable that $20 will be more than enough to feed at least 6 people. In particular, their cinnamon buns are incredible. They are huge and made of danish pastry rather than a bread-like base, which makes them more chewy and flavorful than your average coffee roll. There's nothing better for dessert at any time of day than one of these beauties. I purchased an entire blueberry danish ring (enough for 6-8 people) for 5.99. Insane! The variety of items is also what sets them apart from other bakeries. People might remember this place as Zacchagnini's. When they closed and DeLouise took over, I had my doubts that they would be able to hold a candle to Zach's, but they have not lost a step. Overall, very impressive in every way. Next time you need a birthday cake, do yourself a favor and go here. Support the local business and you will never order a cake from Stop & Shop again! read more

I have always had a special place in my heart and stomach for this bakery. As a kid the greatest treat I could ever imagine was round tomato pizzas from Zaccagnini's bakery. (Sorry for the likely misspelling.) My mom or aunt always used to get up before everyone and head over there on Saturday mornings to get a dozen and be back in time to get us all up to go to the beach where that white pastry box fed us all day. Special occasions always had a box of round pizzas. It was the treat that defined my childhood. A few years ago, after it became DeLuise, my mom picked up a dozen before flying to Virginia to see me and packed them in a cooler. Best day ever. I stopped by there a few weeks ago when I was on my way out of town. O couldn't help but think that those tomato pies were better than I ever remembered. It may qhave been that morning's batch, but I think they let them bake a minute or two longer than I remember. The outside of the crust got a bit of crisp on it and the flavor got more intense from the sauce. I got six and wished I had gotten 100 because they were gone after a 12 hour drive. We also out away two.muffins and a coffee cake on the drive. And I'm not too proud to admit I drove down the Garden State Parkway ripping and eating pieces off of an Italian loaf that was the best bread I've had in years. How often does a childhood memory get better when we're older? It's rare and should be celebrated. read more

my girlfriend and I went to the bakery on sunday 4/18/21...I ordered 12 pizza strips and 6 pizza chips... the clerk gave us 20..? was curious why our bill was so high and realized when we got home there were 6+ extra strips...ALSO... when we walked in we were told to get outside because more than 3 customers could not enter (which I understand because of covid-19)...However, when a slew of middle aged white americans came in while we were waiting no one told those customers to step outside. There were 8-9 people in the tiny waiting area. Now my only conclusion was my girlfriend was korean (asian decent). If I could get a better explanation as to why the elderly and the middle aged couples and singles weren't asked to leave and step outside but we were. That would be greatly appreciated. I loved this bakery when it was zachinini's and I love your products. So a reason for this behavior which made my girlfriend and I feel extremely awkward, would be greatly appreciated. until then....I refuse to let people go there (especially if theyre asian american) Also we were given majority end pieces... wth Thank you read more
