Now This Is A Bakery! We discovered Scialo's Country Bakery quite by accident while waiting for a seafood order next door. What a find! Independent, small business bakeries are few and far between these days, and while we were not looking for any pastries, desserts, or breads, we were thrilled with what we'd stumbled upon. The store was clean and orderly, with the display cases sufficiently filled with delectable looking treats, all nicely presented. We chose a lemon filled muffin, a raspberry bar, and a cherry covered cheesecake. All were absolutely delicious, and thankfully not overly sweet. Since our initial visit, we're enjoyed a Boston Cream doughnut, a blueberry turnover, a lemon bar, and a Zeppole, all of which were excellent. Again, not too sweet and with just the right of filling, perfectly prepared. In my opinion, their whole grain bread is excellent. In this day and age when stand-alone bakeries are rare, and the public either has to buy cheap, mass produced baked items at a chain grocery store, or to, heaven forbid, bake for ourselves, it's a blessing to have such a local, professional business to call upon. God knows we cannot come close to preparing such delicacies. We will be back . . . again and again.

We had quite a bit of a debacle with our cake - however the flavor and taste were outstanding. The person who wrote on the cake was not particularly good at his job, however the flowers he created were amazing. The flavor outshined the look -- awesome bakery inside and out otherwise though!

    Fabulous chocolate birthday cake!

Thank you Scialo's!!! I called and requested a birthday cake. It was chocolate with white buttercream filling and chocolate frosting g- wonderful cake!!! The cake was fresh, moist, not too sweet, with just the right amount of frosting. The cake was ready right on time. I even had a moment to choose a few more goodies. THANK YOU.

My family and I have been coming here for 20+ years and I can't believe that I haven't shared a review before today. We ordered our wedding cake here and still pick up a small cake to celebrate our anniversary every year. My kids love coming here because there's so many sweet treats to pick from, they take their time to review everything that's available in the cases before making their selections, we often come home with a box of mini desserts because we simply could not pick just one thing! I've also ordered trays of calzones and pizza strips for work parties, which are always a big hit. They also have some of the best fresh bread and rolls in every size and shape imaginable, which are way better that what you'd find in the grocery stores plus all of the traditional Italian cookies and sweets you've been missing. If you're looking for a tried and true bakery serving up consistent quality, you'll find it here.

Often they would sell by the slice (last year) however now I must buy a loaf. The problem with a whole loaf is I will eat every single bite myself, in an embarrassing amount of time. Sadly I didn't take a photo this time, so I guess I will have to buy another and add the picture later, hahahah, such a shame I'll have to get another. I will revise when I have a babka I have not devoured! The staff is friendly, the line gets through rather quickly and munching while people watching is a great way to spend a little time Saturday mornings in the Summer.

We finished off the entire loaf which I purchased, within one day. I'm kind of happy that these aren't readily available at my grocery store or my waistline could be in trouble. I'm looking forward to trying the chocolate babka in a couple of weeks. While the price of these is steep at $17/loaf you could taste the quality ingredients and loving craftsmanship in each and every bite. My only disappointment was there were very few actual pecans in our loaf and these pieces were specs. Would I buy again, oh heck yes.

I found the shop tucked away in my old stomping grounds, and when my GPS announced I had arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see it now occupies what used to be a beloved old Italian bakery. There's a small parking lot right next to the well-marked entrance, and their adorable bespectacled cupcake logo makes for a charming first impression. Inside, the space is a nostalgic dream for fans of all things pop culture. The décor spans across countless beloved universes--Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Harry Potter, Pokémon, Mario, and more. Familiar faces like Batman, Spiderman, Thor, and the Hulk line the walls and shelves, giving the whole place a fun and immersive vibe. But let's talk about the real stars: the baked goods. The display at the entrance is packed with eye-catching treats--cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and beyond. Everything looked just as mouthwatering in person as it did in the photos that initially drew me in. In addition to desserts, they also offer cannoli, cinnamon rolls, brownies, breakfast wraps, sandwiches, bagels, toasts, bowls, and a variety of drinks including coffee, smoothies, and iced options. Since I was there for cupcakes, I picked out three flavors: Mocha Cappuccino, Banana Pudding, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana. I only got to try the two banana ones, but both were delicious. The Mocha one smelled heavenly though! A surprise bonus--the cupcakes had fillings, which I wasn't expecting. The frosting-to-cake ratio was perfect, and the cake itself was light and fluffy, yet sturdy enough to hold up the frosting. The owner was super helpful in guiding my selections and genuinely lit up when I asked about the bakery's background and theme. They host themed events too--like an upcoming Star Wars Day breakfast with a buffet, character meet-and-greets, goodie bags, and more. I don't live in the area anymore, so coming back would be a special treat--but I definitely plan to. Getting out of the parking lot was a bit tricky due to the busy nearby intersection, but it wasn't too hard to navigate. A small inconvenience considering everything this place has to offer. Bottom line: this bakery is a delightful, nerdy, sugar-filled gem. A perfect place to treat yourself!
