First of all, this cafe is decorated so beautifully. Service was great, everyone was very nice. I ordered the cheese and guava empanada, the goat, and a banana bread latte. After ordering my child was fussy and I went back up for a chocolate chip, banana bread muffin. The empanada was so good. I loved the guava and cheese combo. I never knew they paired so well together. I also really appreciated the flakey salt added. I also had The Goat with turkey bacon added. That was also so good. I love goat cheese and I love avocado toast so it was a great pairing. I snuck a bite of my son's banana bread muffin and that was also so good, I really liked how there was a good amount of chocolate in the muffin. The Banana Bread latte is a seasonal special apparently. I think that is a HUGE mistake. It should be a year round drink. Superb. No notes. I NEVER finish my coffee. I drank every single last sip. Easily in my top five favorite coffees. I truly hope this makes its way onto the menu. I will absolutely be back!
Food/Drinks: I'm a sucker for trying new coffee spots, and this location has been pretty popular on social media, so I decided to give it a go. I went with one of their most popular signature drinks, the tres leches iced latte. It was very sweet and tasty, but the sweetness was a bit overwhelming. My husband got the flan iced latte, and it was the same experience for him. The quality of the coffee itself seemed fairly good but just a bit sweet per personal preference. I didn't get the chance to try their food. That being said, if you have a sweet tooth, this is a perfect spot to try. I'm planning to come back to try their food and a regular latte to really get a taste of what they offer. Location: This location is on the main street and is pretty artsy. It's a perfect spot for a coffee run or to meet up with friends. They have a really cool painting and overall aesthetic, and even a swing, which adds to the interior design and makes it cozy and unique. There is also parking in the back of the building. If that is full, street parking is available and easy to access. Service: The service was quick and efficient. We spoke to the barista who was making our coffees, and they took our order and prepared our drinks in a timely manner. I will be coming back because I feel like I need to try the food and more latte options!
Wow! I got a large house latte which comes with homemade cinnamon I believe and added oat milk and caramel. It wasn't too sweet but wasn't bitter, just perfectly blended. This might be my new spot. I also got a carrot cake which was so moist and delicious. The wait wasn't bad. I went on a weekday at 10am. Highly recommend.
I have visited Cafe Ava several times - usually early in the morning because it gets super packed. Super packed for a good reason! Their lattes are really good. I really like their Coquito, Tres Leches, & Horchata lattes - and they also have seasonal lattes as well. I usually also grab a sandwich or bakery item when I'm here as well. I like the El Ranchero - scrambled egg, chorizo, diced tomatoes, green onions, mozzerella cheese for a savory bite or their carrot cake for a sweet treat. There is a good amount of seating - I like to sit by the windows with my friends. Staff is very friendly. Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops in RI!
I came back to Cafe Ava to try out their fall specials drinks. One item was the Pumpkin Pie Matcha Latte. I love pumpkin pie and is my favorite type of pie and I love matcha so I thought this drink would be perfect and I had to try it right away. On a Wednesday morning around 8am, I came in and it wasn't too busy. Unfortunately, the drink wasn't as good as I hoped for. It was definitely interesting, but I do not think this combination works. I preferred if it was just a pumpkin pie latte and a matcha latte separately. I'll definitely give them credit for trying new drinks. I'll come back for their regular drinks.
Good coffee spot in Cranston with a nice selection, including cafecito and cortadito. The menu also has some interesting food options. The cortadito was really good. I ordered Ava's arepa with chicken and avocado--it was tasty, though I was expecting a bit more spice. Overall, it was a very good experience and definitely worth a visit.
We randomly stumbled upon Cafe Ava while running errands in Cranston and we are so glad we did!! We've been here at least 5 times in the past two months and drinks are consistently top notch!! I go between the Cajeta Latte, Tres Leches Latte and the Pistachio Latte. I do have to mention that I have a sweet tooth and even then some of the drinks are a bit too sweet for me. The Pistachio Latte seems to be the most moderately sweet coffee beverage. It has a strong coffee flavor, mild pistachio undertone and real pistachios as a garnish. I did try something new which was the ham and cheese empanada, but wasn't a fan of it. My wife on the other hand thought it was delish. I just have to mention that I'm not really a big ham and cheese type of guy. The café is beautifully decorated and feels warm as well as inviting. This place can get really packed, so choose your time of arrival wisely. Saturday mornings seem to be some of the busiest time to show up. The staff were really nice and knowledgeable. Super friendly barista. Awesome seasonal latte--I had the cookie butter tres leches. I had the OG breakfast sandwich & added pernil which was sooo tender and flavorful. Can't wait to come back.
I love this spot so much. It probably has to be the prettiest coffee shop in RI. I love the vibrant colors, the art and the overall ambiance. Their lattes are super unique and totally worth the drive. Any of the baked goods I've had have been next level as well. You must try them! The service here is always great. Very inviting while a beautiful layout with lovely decor and Spanish music playing in the background. They have so many drink options making it hard to decide on just one. They make small sandwiches and deserts. I had a slice of banana bread that was so delicious and fluffy. The latte was so freaking good. I would definitely get these too options next time. The ordering was quick and my drink was made reasonably quick. They do offer gift cards and you can order ahead. I believe they also have a delivery option thru DoorDash. If I had to give a draw back is even though the workers were young and sweet, I could do without the little cussing they were having while talking to each other not in an arguing kind of way. Besides that great experience

I love the team here. They're incredible. Thoughtful & kind, quick & efficient, gentle towards me when I'm yawning & can barely keep my eyes open. They're good people. Mazapan latte, yal. That's the whole review. M a z a p a n. It's a ground peanut Mexican candy that makes for a dreamy addition to a latte. First time here and might be the last. I don't know if my order was lost in the shuffle or the cashier didn't put my ticket up or something because I waited 15 minutes for my drink. I ordered the tres leches latte and the place wasn't busy as it usually is when I walk by. After making 10+ drinks for people who ordered after me, the barista asks me if I'm waiting for something. I tell her yes and my order. She was a bit confused because I guess the ticket wasn't on the board she made it right away and apologized after. TAKE MY MONEY!!! Tree leches ice coffee from here is unbelievable!! The sweet foam on top is the best part and when you keep drinking it, it just gets better. I could drink 5 of these if I could. Service is great, it takes about 10 min to receive your order, this isn't a fast food restaurant so it's ok but the wait is worth it! read more

I've had this place on my "must try" list for a bit now and it did not disappoint! The space is super cute with lots of seating. We ordered the banana pancake cold brew special and cafe bombon and both were great! Quick & friendly service. All the baked goods looked really good too and want to go back to try more items! I also love a place that has a lot of special flavors for the season and their special list was awesome. Would recommend and will go back! read more

Ratings 4.3 I went to try this place for lunch/breakfast. It's a small cafe in Cranston that offers drinks, baked goods and sandwiches. You order right at the counter and service was pretty quick. We ordered Flan and Tres leches latte, OG breakfast sandwich, chimi pollo sandwich, cheese bread and cheese cake. Sandwiches were small but tasted pretty good. OG sandwich was a bit lack laster since it was just bread, cheese, egg and the sauce. Would be better with some meat. Chimi pollo was pretty flavorful. Both lattes were pretty good. Sweet and hint of coffee flavors. I preferred the Tres leche one although they were both similar. I really liked their cheese bread. It reminded me of Brazilian cheese bread. Nice and fluffy and chewy and cheesy on the inside. Cheese cake was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall I liked the place and would definitely come back for their latte and cheese bread. I would like to try different sandwich next time as mine was ok. Definitely a solid cafe/breakfast spot and one of only place i know that offers this cheese bread around the area. read more

A very endearing Columbian café. Spanish music playing in the background of a beautifully decorated sitting area. They have multiple options of caffeinated drinks to choose from. I love the creativity they had when titling the names of the drinks. Ordered a latte with milk and caramel. The pastries and sandwiches looked delicious as well. The café was packed on a Saturday which took a bit to grab a seat. Totally will be back when in the area. read more

What a cute little place! I was in the area this past Wednesday and decided to pop in based on the recommendation of a friend. I can't speak to food, because all I ordered was the House Latte with oat milk, but boy was it delicious! Perfect latte with a delightful, not overly-sweet cinnamon flavor. It even came with a little cookie! Definitely exceeded my expectations. Made me regret not trying one of their breakfast sandwiches since the coffee was so darn good. Seating is limited, but decent for the footprint of the café. Steady stream of customers, so there was a little bit of a wait for the coffee, but nothing obnoxious. I feel I've waited longer in line at the big coffee chains than I did hear. There are a couple of tables outside that can seat 2 as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Place was clean. Prices were reasonable. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area again. read more
I am a coffee-holic so trust me when I say...must try! I've tried about every coffee shop in Rhode Island and this is one of the most authentic, unique, and delicious coffee spots in the state! They put a lot of work into their coffee, so service may take some time and because they're so popular they usually have a line - but I promise it's worth the wait! It is a Latin inspired coffee shop and you won't find another coffee shop like it around. Aside from coffee there is also an array of desserts and arepas to choose from. The owner is also a local Johnson & Wales graduate (one of the biggest culinary schools around) The cafe has a cute Latin flair with white brick and patterned tiles along the perimeter and very colorful decor. There is also barstool window seating and some seats outside. It is a small cafe but has a bunch of fun Instagram worthy spots if you want to sneak a coffee pic on your gram! (Check out that neon Hoy Se Bebe sign) I got the iced cafe BomBon and it was creamy, sweet, and delicious! My other go to is usually the Tres Leches coffee. I have a sweet tooth so love it but would suggest an alternate if you prefer your coffee less sweet. I also tried the cheesecake which was light and fluffy. read more

This place is really cute. A little on the pricey side , but very comfortable and well designed. It's so colorful and cheery inside. It is a Latino based coffee shop. They have signature lattes such as horchata latte and tre leche latte. They also have regular coffee, breakfast sandwiches and arepas!. YUMM! Their baked good are fresh and delicious as well! I would definitely recommend coming here for a nice treat, maybe not a daily treat lol as the lattes are 6-9$. read more

Cute cafe! It's a Columbia style and food cafe. The drinks are very creative. I ordered a Tres Leche latte and a flan latte. They were interesting and truly tasted liked tres leches and flan. My chicken chimi was delicious and the perfect portion size. The OG sandwich was just a egg and cheese ~ normal, but needed hot sauce and more flavor. The traditional bread that is filled with cheese was flavorful and savory. I loved the cheese cake. The counter had many different pastries, and I enjoyed this cheese cake because it was overly sweet, and satisfied my sweet tooth. The interior was perfect for photos opportunities, and had many photos of a family trip to Colombia which made it cozy. The cashier did a good job telling us what to expect in our orders, and would bring out our order to our little spot we picked to sit down in the cafe. My gf is a coffeeholic and we are here about every weekend. I personally am not a coffee drinker but have had their breakfast sandwiches. I tried a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and it had a Latin flair with a side of pink sauce. It was different and delicious. They are a popular establishment considering there is no other cafe like this one around. They wrap Latin culture into both their food and drinks and it's a great place to try something new. There is usually always a line but it goes fairly quickly and definitely worth the wait. They also have a wide range of desserts: burnt cheesecake, carrot cake slices, chocolate cake, cookies, etc. There is a handful of inside table and counter top seating and outdoor seating.
