Great local find! Cafe Ava is serving up some delicious coffees and sandwiches, including breakfast and lunch options, as well as some sweet treats. Super friendly service and a cute little space with a variety of seating options. Had quickly become a favorite of mine for a quick spot to stop for breakfast. My only "complaint" if you will, is that the stools at the front counter are just a tad short for the counter height, but believe me, this hasn't stopped me from going back! read more

This might be my new go to place. I had no idea what I wanted and I ended up ordering a Coquito iced latte. It might be one of the best drinks I have ever had. Everything looked amazing. There were several other drinks that sounded delicious that I can't wait to try as well as a counter full of amazing baked goods. Tres, Leche cupcakes? What?? Sunday morning at 830 am no issues finding a spot. The two girls working lacked personality or charm. The gentleman who brought the food from the back was very nice. Food/coffee: really wanted the horchata latte but they didn't have horchata. Husband had tres leches and I had coquito. They were good but the flavor was very strong - couldn't taste the coffee. Also cup had so much ice - for the price I would've liked a little more beverage. The tres leches cupcake was to die for! Also the arepa with cheese and sweetened condensed milk .... !!! It sounds scary, but oh my goodness was it delicious. The traditional breakfast sandwich could've done without. Our eggs on it looked almost grey in color like they had been just sitting around. It tasted fine - just a run of the mill small breakfast sandwich though, would've preferred another arepa. Would return if traveling in the area again! read more

I have been going to cafe Ava since it first opened and I continue to go back! Great quality of coffee, new flavors but most of all fantastic quality of service! Their staff is always friendly and atmosphere is very welcoming! At times it might be super busy and wait might be much longer but it's worth it! I go back because I know they appreciate your business and always make your drink with care. I appreciate that they always ask for milk preference and they have their personal touches to their drinks in holidays . The drink does make you feel a dose of magic is added to your coffee! if you're not near cranston and you're not sure about going all the way there for a cafe, it is so worth it. went on a saturday mid morning and it was bustling! the front line staff were so kind while busy. we got arepas with egg and turkey bacon, it auto comes with some cheese and tomato sauce on the side that slaps. we also got the flan latte iced and it was amazing. caramelized caramel in there. put every other caramel iced drink you've tasted to shame. i am drooling thinking about the arepa. the vibes are so cute and loooove their music taste. a must visit cafe. read more

t's good to support local mom and pop businesses with so many chains. It's nice to see small business's keeping it in the community. The place has a cool decorative vibe. Too bad Cranston is small and can't support longer hours. Ordered the New Yorker, Bagel with Bacon, Egg and cheese with a Cortadito (expreso with steamed milk) Sucks when the staff doesn't follow through with the promised expectations. A little bit disorganized when it came to receiving the order. One person took my order, and my sandwich came out promptly from the kitchen area. Felt a little rushed for something prepared well. The kitchen sounded busy, expectations were high. The sandwich was not. Advertised as the New Yorker, this was not on a bagel. This was a Supermarket purchased knock off bagel. Which tasted like an English muffin. Asked for mayo they offered a mayo ketchup, that was also not added. Was charged an extra $.50 for the sauce without being told it would be extra. That's a huge customer service fail. The cortadito was also a fail, the expresó is strong. But the milk to espresso ratio was off. Waited for the person who took my order to make my drink as it looks like who takes the order makes the drink. Which is silly as it looks like bad customer service and lack of team work. The one person left after they made their drink and went to the back. Then the other person came back out to finish the drink. Overall I wouldn't waste the trip, as this was corner store (bodega) food at best. Ridiculous pricing. $13 for a coffee with milk and bacon, egg and cheese sandwich is absurd. Been two times and love that its owned by latino couple. I talked to the owner and found out that their daughter name is Ava hence cafe Ava (awww). This is a great addition to rolfe square. Instagram ready decor. I love their arepas and love how u can build your own. Cheese arepa is my favorite. Their mexican mocha is so rich in all the right ways. I wish I knew about this place soon -- It was SO GOOD! It's a really cute spot and has a lot of Instagramable decorations. To order, you go up to the counter and can have it as dine-in or to-go. I couldn't resist ordering one of their baked goods on display, a blueberry pastry along, with The Goat (avocado toast), and a latte. I have to say, the drinks are the start of the show. I've been to Ava's 3 times in last week twice for coffee and once for lunch. Great coffee! My husband and I had delicious lunch. He had the Cuban sandwich. Pernil was sooo good! The ham was great too! I had chicken chimmi which was delicious. The desserts all looked great but didn't try them. Service was friendly, welcoming and helpful. I thought I would love this place and it was super cute but the the food was disappointing. Both my husband and I ordered the cocquito latte and it was way way way too sweet for both of us. I still drank mine only because I needed something to drink with my sandwich but my husband threw his out. I ordered the OG breakfast sandwich and added bacon. It was okay, nothing special and for $7.50, it was way too small. We also got a guava & cheese empanada to split and you could barely taste the guava, or the cheese for that matter. A part of me wants to give this place a second try but given the prices and such a disappointing first visit, I'm not sure I will. read more

The coquito latte is all I gotta say. Just come here for that. It was exactly what you'd expect it to be. Amazing. The cafe itself, is beautiful. We came to try the lattes and enjoyed the seating area. My friend tried a sandwich that she really liked. I tried my first ever arepa with ham and cheese and sadly wasn't a fan. Okay so my friend and I are huge coffee lovers and she mentioned this coffee place in Rolfe Square yesterday. She said they have Spanish flavored coffee, like tres leches and flan...ummm so needless to say I had to try to out. And Avas did not disappoint on any level. They have a ton of flavors to try. I ordered a house latte with oat milk, New Yorker breakfast sandwich, OG breakfast sandwich w/bacon, almond loaf and concha. The drink was delicious but pre-sweetened. While it was the perfect amount of sweetness, sometimes I prefer my coffee unsweetened. I'd recommend expressing your preferences when ordering in case you're not asked. The sandwiches were tasty, however, the bacon was too chewy today so I'd probably omit it next time. Pastries were amazing. Honestly, the best concha I've ever had!
