I have been avoiding this location since I worked at brown and have some PTSD being in that area (lol). But I decided to check out this location today with RI Food Fights best iced coffee and all of the staff were so lovely! I had a really pleasant interaction with them and they made my coffee really well. It's super clean inside too.

    My delicious iced cold brew.

I came here because this year I decided to get the Rhode Island coffee food fights passport. This is definitely my new go to coffee place. Located near RISD this place was well designed and very chic. I fell in love with the ambiance. The servers were all so helpful and nice. I ordered a delicious cold brew which was out of this world. I will definitely be returning soon.

Cute spot, very modern and clean. Known for their iced lattes, got a fuzzy lemon fade with passion fruit -- a special during the World Cup. Tasted nice and refreshing. Bathrooms are cute and clean.

Back again for another round, this chorizo and egg burrito was really good! The burrito was loaded with chorizo (seemed like fresh spanish chorizo to me) and it had plenty of egg and cheese to go around. I can't really remember what else was packed in there, but if you like meat, you'll like this burrito. The sauce it came with was a Chipotle mayo which complemented things well. The side salad was a bonus. Nice way to close out the meal. I was very happy with this- I think we're 4 for 4 or 5 for 5 now, always a good time here whether it's for breakfast or just a cup of coffee.

It was the day after Christmas and we were looking for an open coffee shop on the East Side of Providence. It was actually interesting how many places were closed, but Hazel Origin was open! This is a beautiful, well lit, open space, colorful coffee shop on Brown University campus. The service was friendly and helpful here. We ordered a couple of drinks and a couple of food items to share. First, their coffee here is quite good, and it looks like they roast their own beans which I always like. My Brown Sugar Rosemary latte was great. I mostly tasted the brown sugar, but there was a hint of rosemary that I liked a lot. For food, I got to try two of their breakfast burritos. The Hazel wrap was my favorite. It's very cheesy and the eggs and sausage are delicious. It came with a house-made maple aioli that was so good. I can't say enough good things about this breakfast wrap. The eggs and chorizo burrito was really good, but I was thinking it would be a Mexican chorizo rather than a Spanish chorizo. The menu doesn't say what kind it is, but maybe they should point that out. Still really good and I love how flavorful the chorizo is. The classic avocado toast was good, but the toast itself seemed maybe a bit stale. The egg, tomato's and avocado were great. Overall, I highly recommend Hazel for good coffee, delicious breakfasts and a really nice place to hang out.

Honestly, my favorite thing about this place is the service! The folks working here are so sweet and really work hard to make sure you have a great experience. I had some avocado toast with arugula and hard boiled egg. It was delicious! The blueberry lemon cheesecake Matcha was also amazing. It was on the specials menu, unfortunately. The dining room is just stunningly beautiful. The lighting, the adorable reading corner with books available for use while in the café, the window seating so you can watch folks walk or drive by while you're getting some work done... It's just all perfect. This might be one of my favorite spots to come during the workday.

Nicest people of all 26 coffee shops I have visited on the RI Food Fights Iced Coffee Challenge. Also the prettiest dining room and outside area of any cafe Ive visited as well. Barista was super pleasant. Here, you were able to upgrade to a latte for NO charge-I chose a Brown Sugar Rosemary Oat-milk Latte and it was perfect! Thank you RI Food Fights for helping me branch out to new coffee shops!

Clean coffee shop. Their medium roast coffee was 4.7/5. Excellent.

Their coffee was memorable. Would definitely come back. Medium roast hot black was 5 stars. Latte was 4 stars. The place looks so nice with its luxurious looking exterior and extra high ceiling interior. Staff were hippie style and pleasant. Coffee score: 4.7/5.

Hazel Origin Coffee is a family-owned coffee shop that has 2 current locations at 245 Esten Ave, Pawtucket, RI 02860 and 250 Brook St, Providence, RI 02906. They are also working on opening a store on Thomas Street where Cafe Choklad used to be in Providence. This was my first time at Hazel Origin Coffee and I visited the one on Brook Street, on the ground floor of Chen Family Hall. There are plenty of two-hour time limit street parking available. I was planning to stay for an hour so this worked great. I walked in on a Tuesday morning around 8:00am and I was able to secure a countertop seat by the window. The natural sunlight brightens the coffee shop. There are plenty of tables and countertop seats available inside and seating outside as well. I took a look at their menu and I loved how I could customize my own matcha. I chose matcha with honey and lavender and it was DELICIOUS! The matcha is of ceremonial grade. A few days later on a Thursday afternoon around 4:30pm, I returned to Hazel Origin Coffee. There weren't too many artisan pastries made in-house left in the display case, but I chose a lemon blueberry loaf and it was very good. I'm so glad Hazel Origin Coffee is in the community. Since this is the summer and most students are on break, it wasn't too busy in the coffee shop but I am sure when the students return it'll be busy.

Rating: 3.8 Came to try this place because my partner was interested in trying out this new location. It's a small coffee spot around brown university campus. Parking is only street parking which may be difficult to find due to most being filled with students who live around the area. When I came in it was pretty busy with a lot students studying at the place. We placed an order at the counter. I ordered the chocolate haze latte and egg, cheese and bacon breakfast sandwich with croissants and chipotle aioli sauce. Since it was busy we did wait around 15 minutes or so. The drink was pretty good. The chocolate haze latte had good balanced of sweet and coffee flavor that weren't overwhelming. The sandwich was okay standard egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich. Croissants were nice and fluffy and flavorful but they did forget the sauce so it was bit dry. I know they were busy so I didn't bother asking to fix it. Service was overall good except the wait and sauce that they forgot on the sandwich which I paid extra for. Overall the place is decent but not enough to justify the wait and slow service which comes from being filled with students around the area. If you are not students and live around the area it may be best to go to the other location or options.

I came here because it happens to be closer to me today. I already know the other shop in Pawtucket and wanted to try this place out. Enough said with stating that it's within the Brown university dorms (I think). So lots of college students taking up seats with laptops and friends on study sessions~ that means they won't leave for hours~ which is ok because it's to be expected. Just be ready to wait for seats or just take to go~ Our order was quick at the counter because I know what I love here~ Chicken pesto panini! No fries or sides... which I was confused that I wasn't offered it like in the Pawtucket location. They stated being understaffed, and our orders will take a while~ which they did~ plenty of wait time to aim for a student leaving their table~ good food and drinks~ not the best in-door eating spot~ hard to find seats~ good study spot but you have to wait for a seat~

Hazel Origin Coffee is a sweet & sunny spot over on college hill. The interior - Wonderful. High ceilings, modern touches, & so much natural light. Plenty of seating choices, both in the shade & in the sun. The bathroom was a bit jarring in comparison, so I wonder if the owners haven't gotten around to putting the razzle dazzle on it yet. The service - Very kind & efficient. The coffee - Scrumptious. The food - I was limited to the only two gluten-free options, which were both pastries - Blueberry lemon cake or a brownie. They don't have gluten-free bread so none of their sandwiches can be made gluten-free. I chose the blueberry lemon cake & it was very decent for gluten-free. It was moist & flavorful, not dry & crumbly like most GF pastries. I wish I could've gotten a sandwich or a toast, though. My friend got a caprese toast & it looked amazing. Overall - Nice spot! I'll be back & I look forward to gluten-free bread in the future, I hope.

The food is alright, but the coffee is not very good. I've tried different lattes/espresso drinks, and they've all been unpleasant. Sad!

I stopped in here to pick up an order for my husband. The order was ready as expected and I requested for them to gring them for French Press. They did it quickly and off I went. It's a great-looking spot in RI with a small patio and some limited parking in the back, but the atmosphere felt pretty unwelcoming. To be honest, as a person of color, I felt like we were treated differently than other customers. While the person taking our order was fine, the rest of the staff and even the patrons were snappy and rude, which really killed the vibe. It's a shame because the coffee itself is actually incredible. You can tell they really know what they're doing--the options are expansive and every cup is clearly well-crafted. If you're just in it for a high-quality brew and don't mind a side of cold energy, it might be worth it, but the lack of basic hospitality makes it hard to fully enjoy. A total "vibey" spot on the outside, but definitely lacked the warmth you'd expect from a local coffee shop.

I'm driving back to our B&B late afternoon and I see people gathered outside Brown Bee Coffee…read more Are they online? Is there a wait for coffee? Inquiring minds want to know and I want to see what's buzzin' so I found a parking across the street and headed towards the Brown Bee. The second I walked in, I knew I found a hidden gem in Providence. The baked goods look like a true professional baked them. Ever grab a tray of croissants from Costco? I'm sure those bakers question their life. These baked goods look like the bakers put time and true methods to achieve the level of a quality baked goods. Take for instance their pain au chocolat. Simple, yet elegant with a classic golden hue. Brown Bee, I commend you on your mad skills. My wife and I stopped in for coffee. I see a great line up of coffee choices: Halva Latte, Pistachio Latte and a Bee Latte made with cayenne. That sounds a little too on the wild side so I ordered two Spanish lattes. Made with condensed milk, smoked chocolate and a sprinkle of sea salt, this is perfect for a cloudy afternoon. I also order a cookie to split between us, a Brookie. The lattes were perfection. The sweetness from the condensed milk and the smoked chocolate gave the drink a nice balanced flavor. The Brookie? Fudgy, chewy and the right amount of chocolate made this an afternoon delight. Just passing thru, thanks Brown Bee Coffee for a great Providence experience!

It was a Wednesday afternoon, and I was craving a good latte. I had seen this place on social media…read moreand added it to my list of cafes to visit. There is a parking lot in the back, but I was not sure if it was for the café or apartments downstairs, so I just found street parking nearby. The inside gave me Spaniard vibes because of the cream, smooth walls and dark wooden accents. The following were the two things that instantly caught my attention when I walked in: They have merchandise on display for sale and it seems like high quality material and they had a vehicle made of croissants on display, maybe about 1.5 ft x 1 ft x 6 inches. They have their pastries on display which helps visualize what you're getting before buying it. They are unique and big in size. Their drink menu is good and includes a mix of teas (including matcha) and coffee. I went with the bee latte which was supposed to have honey, cardamom, and cayenne. I was interested in seeing how sweet, herbal/minty, and spicy would taste together. I was also [easily] self-convinced into getting a Za'atar croissant. After our order came out, we walked outside and sat at their patio area which has about 5-6 tables enough for two people each. The latte was good. I appreciated how it was not sweet, but I did think the cardamom was too subtle. It seemed like the cayenne was powder just sprinkled on top and I might've inhaled half of it on my first sip, so I was dying a bit. The Za'atar croissant was given to us in a brown paper box with the outside of their building drawn onto it. Since we asked for it toasted, it was warm and extra crispy/flaky on top. It was flat (about 1 inch thick) and about 6 inches in diameter, so big enough to share if you're just interested in a light snack. The inside of every swirl was packed with olive oil, middle eastern herbs, and lots of sesame seeds. Although it may take away from the traditional flavors and way of eating it, I wish it came with something to dip it into like whipped cream cheese or smashed olives. Nonetheless, it was delicious. On weekends, they have a laptop free policy which I think it good to allow for more people to enjoy, rather than people taking up tables for a while to do work.
