My friend and I stopped into Dave's for a coffee before going to lunch last Friday. She ordered the Ocean Latte, which was a special for earth day! I ordered the chocolate pretzel latte. The drinks were very good! They have great coffee and the staff were lovely. We weren't planning on getting food since we were headed to lunch with the pasties all look so good! They had vegan and gluten free options too. We ended up splitting a scone and it was truly one of the best scones I have ever had. That is high praise because I have eaten a lot of scones. It was so flavorful and fluffy. I know parking in this area can be a challenge but I was able to get a parking spot just up the hill on Benefit St without a problem! Highly recommend to avoid getting a ticket for not paying a meter!

Love their seasonal drink options, and the space inside is good to sit and work. The employees were very friendly and it was a smooth process to order and grab drinks. I tried the frosted blueberry latte. Normally I love blueberry lattes, but this tasted a little too artificial for me. We also tried the chocolate mint donut which I did really like.

I like Dave's coffee a lot overall!! Always coming up with unique seasonal flavors which is exciting! Service there is pretty quick, friendly staff, and lots of options! 4.5 stars for the parking but coffee is great !!

I came back to Dave's Coffee with a friend and ordered their White Chocolate and Lavender Matcha. It is a sweet White Chocolate and house made Lavender Matcha. Out of all the different matchas I've had at Dave's Coffee, this was probably the best one and hit the spot right on. My friend and I sat at a table outside with 2 seats and stayed about 30 minutes. It was a beautiful day.

I totally understand why this place is so adored!!! First of all, the staff is so friendly. Second of all, my hot latte was really smooth and really flavorful but not excessively sweet. It was a toffee or brown butter type of situation. I had the b.e.c. on the homemade english muffin & dipped it in some sriracha. Really satiating. I sat and worked here for 1.5hr in the little elevated space towards the back. Very comfy. The buzz of people up at the front tables wasn't distracting like you would think it would be in a small space. I give 3 stars because Dave's is good, but it's not necessarily mind-blowing-exceptional. There's just so much competition around college hill! I will be back to try more rotating latte flavors :)

What an adorable spot!! I decided to try the weekly special Frankenstein Matcha. I ordered it less sweet. I came as part of a big group and all the employees did an amazing job getting the drinks out quickly and accurately. The drink I had was terrific. The ube was sweet and creamy and perfectly sweet and the matcha was nice and earthy. Ube and taro are some of my favorite drink flavors and this was similar to a bubble tea without the boba. The menu had a lot of options that sounded terrific so I'm hoping to go back soon and try something out! I saw they can add a homemade marshmallow and/or a maple whipped cream to any drink and those are both calling my name!!

Dave's coffee has been on my bucket list. I finally had the opportunity to try it for the first time and it did not disappoint! It is located in a fun busy area on South Main Street of Providence. I came on a Sunday so I can explore the artisan market across the street. There is a wide range of menu items from coffee, matcha, lemonade, tea, and pastries. I got the blueberry coffee cake latte and it had the perfect blend of subtle sweetness. There is indoor and some outdoor seating. It is very clean inside and has a hipster look to it. The staff was very quick and friendly. Some guests were popped on their laptops and enjoying the free WiFi!

Stopped in to grab a coffee and sandwich. They weren't super friendly...and wouldn't make a sandwich on toast instead of the biscuit? I mean you have avocado toast? Seems silly. So we just got coffees, they were fine. Typical coffee shop vibe.

Food: I ordered the iced caramel latte with oat milk and wow! That along deserves 5 stars! I know that we also gotta credit whoever makes it bc that can make or break a coffee. But hot damn it was good today! Service: Great overall. They were quick and very nice. Ambiance: It's a cute cafe with some tables and seatings. There's a couple outdoor tables too. It's in a walkable area and there's street parking.

Street parking was readily available! I paid via passport parking app. Coffee milk was good - sweet without being too sweet. We got it with oat milk. We also ordered the banana bread latte with oat milk and a shot of espresso - the espresso maybe overpowered the banana flavor. The pina colada scone and cheddar & scallion bread were both good. Staff was super friendly. There's one bathroom - you get the key at the front. We were able to get a seat easily.

Stopped here on a whim, we were walking by and needed our caffeine fix. I love coffee shops so I was excited to check it out. I read after the fact that they make all natural, small batch, cold brewed coffee syrup that you can mix with milk to make coffee milk; a Rhode Island staple. They roast coffee beans in their 7000 sq ft roastery in Narragansett. There are two Dave's Coffee shops, one in Charlestown and one in Providence. Love supporting a small business, especially from my home state! I saw a sign right out on the sidewalk showing their specials. I had to try out their iced cardamom vanilla oat milk latte; that was perfect and I could've drank a whole gallon of it. Service was great and ambiance was that of a cozy coffee shop. The coffee was fresh and tasty. A great asset to have in RI.

    Large Iced Coffee Milk
    Denise V.

I stopped by to try the Rhode Island classic, coffee milk. The barista recommended iced, because that's how it's traditionally served, though they also offer it hot. I got a large iced coffee milk to share ($5.40). It tasted like watered-down horchata or chai with a hint of cinnamon--just milk lightly flavored with coffee. It wasn't bad, but nothing special. The café has plenty of seats, making it a great spot to enjoy a drink or get work done. They also have free stickers!

Though I came in with the intent to order coffee, the Coco Ube Matcha on their spring menu caught my eye. Light with the right amount of sweetness, I really enjoyed this matcha. The chicken quesadilla itself had all the right things going, cheesy, gooey, savory, meaty and flavor packed. Paired with a side of sour cream, this piece of heaven is easily one of my favorite handhelds I've had in a while. If it's your first time visiting or meeting up with someone, do make note of them having two locations!

Walking is far superior thanks to the adjacent Greenway and one-way street. The cafe itself is medium-sized with seating for about 15-20 and 5-6 tables and 6 or so bar top seats. It was also a sunny-lit space. Several people were minding their businesses on their respective laptops. Seating can also be found outside or inside the building, so you don't need to worry about not finding a seat unless there's a crowded event happening. The danish was fine, it was cold, maybe a bit sour-ish. It cost $5.50. My chai latte was $6+$1 ($7 total) because I replaced the whole milk with oat milk costing that extra dollar. I maybe should have ordered it hot since that's how I prefer my chai, but it was over 90F outside so who can blame me. Service was fine! They just call out your order and you get up to get it. I parked in the lot where the GPS leads to and entered through the main entrance. We walked through the halls until we started to smell the coffee, indicating to us that we were close. I liked the ambiance; it was very calm with the dim lights and soft tunes (loved their playlist). I also noticed they have different plants all around which caught my attention. I decided to get iced chai latte, and my mom went for the matcha. We took our drinks to a table. They have about 8 tables inside the space as well as a couple tables out in the hallway where there is better lighting and maybe more loud conversation or collaboration friendly. I loved the chai latte. It was very creamy with a cinnamon flavor to start but ended with the taste of cardamom. My mom also enjoyed her matcha but she wished it were hot instead of warm. I would definitely come back to try other drinks.

There is a parking lot in the back, but I was not sure if it was for the café or apartments downstairs, so I just found street parking nearby. The inside gave me Spaniard vibes because of the cream, smooth walls and dark wooden accents. The following were the two things that instantly caught my attention when I walked in: They have merchandise on display for sale and it seems like high quality material and they had a vehicle made of croissants on display, maybe about 1.5 ft x 1 ft x 6 inches. They have their pastries on display which helps visualize what you're getting before buying it. They are unique and big in size. Their drink menu is good and includes a mix of teas (including matcha) and coffee. I went with the bee latte which was supposed to have honey, cardamom, and cayenne. I was interested in seeing how sweet, herbal/minty, and spicy would taste together. I was also [easily] self-convinced into getting a Za'atar croissant. After our order came out, we walked outside and sat at their patio area which has about 5-6 tables enough for two people each. The latte was good. I appreciated how it was not sweet, but I did think the cardamom was too subtle. It seemed like the cayenne was powder just sprinkled on top and I might've inhaled half of it on my first sip, so I was dying a bit. The Za'atar croissant was given to us in a brown paper box with the outside of their building drawn onto it. Since we asked for it toasted, it was warm and extra crispy/flaky on top. It was flat (about 1 inch thick) and about 6 inches in diameter, so big enough to share if you're just interested in a light snack. The inside of every swirl was packed with olive oil, middle eastern herbs, and lots of sesame seeds. Although it may take away from the traditional flavors and way of eating it, I wish it came with something to dip it into like whipped cream cheese or smashed olives. Nonetheless, it was delicious. On weekends, they have a laptop free policy which I think it good to allow for more people to enjoy, rather than people taking up tables for a while to do work.
