Went there to see if they sold any Pastelitos...but they specialize in sweets. So I got a guava pastry and I was not very impressed with it. They have a large counter with cakes and other desserts to sell...maybe they are better in that line of baking. They will soon be moving down the street on Broad to a larger store.

Subject: Honest and Heartfelt Moral: They will spoil your special day The Quality is the worst with no respect towards your orders. Then they will Treat you with Disrespect, Foul mouth you and make the experience so bad that you will never trust your local business any more. A cake is something that is most important thing to make someone's special days. But BEWARE and DO NOT ORDER it from Emely Party Store & Bakery, They will make sure that your special day is ruined. I am a strong believer in local business and support, thinking about that I went and order a cake from them. I order Tres Leches and got the cake from them. When we cut the cake and served it with the excitement Things to a ugly turn. The cake was not a Tres Leches as there was no moisture in the cake, the color used in the frosting made people clean their hand with soap to get it off and the spelling of "mom" a three letter word was wrong. But we still held on to our disappoint and let things get over and wanted to make the baker aware of there mistake. This is where things became even more AGONIZING. I called then in the morning and explained my situation to the Lady in the phone, she said can you hold for a minute and left the phone and started talking in Spanish with the other people in the store and kept me waiting for 12 minutes. So I finally disconnected a called them again this time it Was the same lady again but her voice was getting rude and same thing wait for a minute and left the phone on the counter for 14 minutes and talked even louder and this time turned the music up. This was so embarrassing for me. I decide this time But I will give them a third chance , it was not better the same thing happened and I was left hanging the phone for 16 minutes. I had it with them so I walked into the store with the cake after finishing my work and there I was met with a question that Shocked me to my core. They totally disrespected me when they saw me and started talking to about me in Spanish calling me a BS guy and asked me why the cake was consumed and they said they cannot do any thing about it. In this whole situation , I did not let them know that I know Spanish and I can understand them.

Emely cake for $130. Horrible design

This was hands down the worst cake I have ever purchased. I was embarrassed at my twins birthday party once I realized how bad the cake tasted and looked. I paid $130 for a cake that wasn't worth half that. They charged me $45 for design and gave 4 little stickers for all that. The customer service was terrible and I was left waiting in line only to find out my cake was not even ready at the time promised for the party. I had to go back a second time to pick it up half way through the party with over 30 people at my house already. I was given no consideration or even apology for a bad cake and bad service and bad taste. I paid half of that amount for a real Puerto Rican cake and it was fantastic from another shop and that really saved the party. I would never go back to this shop or recommend any one go to this shop. If I could give less than a Zero on the rating I would. Don't go here!

    The cake ordered

The worst customer service and cake I've ever had!! I ordered the pool cake shown on the picture and they made the one looking like a stormy sea with no beach ball nor slide! They charged me $170 for this cake! To make things worse, the cake was supposed to be ready for pickup at 12pm, at 11:46am I get a call from them saying that the cake is not ready and if it's ok for us to pickup at 1pm instead. I said it was fine... the party was at 1:30. I had to find someone to go pickup the cake since I was hosting the party (my son's 14th birthday). My mom and my aunt went to pickup the cake at 3pm and it was still not ready! They had to wait for them to finish it up! As soon as they arrived with this cake, we called right away to complain and the person who answered said she was going to find out what they could do for us and then call us back! A week later still no call back so I decided to go to the bakery and ask for my money back and they said they will not give me the money because in order for me to get my money back I needed to bring the cake back!!! ‍

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

That lasted about 30 seconds…read more The owner (adorable, by the way) was walking around checking on tables and making sure everyone was happy. It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.

Super flaky and a lot of delicious flavor from the filling and garnishes. It was very busy when I stopped by midday. They were out of some items already (I missed out on trying the French onion croissant before they replaced it with another menu item). I did find a spot to sit outside but I can see it being even harder to find a seat during peak times. It's a bit off the beaten path yet it's known and popular for a reason. I'm looking forward to visiting again and trying more items and of course the coffee!

I was sold as soon as I read their menu and saw that they had a Halva latte. This is one of my favorites and I can only get it at cafes near Boston. If you haven't had it, it's a must try. Halva is a sweet confection that is sesame based. Brown Bee definitely delivered on this one. I hope it stays on the menu! My wife had a pistachio latte that is made with homemade pistachio syrup. It was 10/10. We didn't plan on eating, but we did end up getting one of their cinnamon rolls with a homemade cream cheese frosting. It was fantastic! They have plenty of seating and although we waited inline, there were several seats available and we got to enjoy our drinks and cinnamon roll. This place is worth the wait in line. We will be going back again this weekend. I want to try the everything croissant with cream cheese baked inside! We may also try one of their breakfast sandwiches. My only recommendation is that they add little chalk boards for each of the croissants with what they are as they had to keep telling everyone what each one was. Still a 10/10.

The snow made street parking a bit tricky, but thankfully there are a few parking spaces in the back of the building. Once inside, the bakery was lively and smelled absolutely delicious. There was a great selection of fresh artisan breads to choose from. I ended up with the durum loaf, which was perfect since I planned to make an olive oil dipping sauce. The bread was exactly what I hoped for crusty on the outside, soft on the inside, airy with a mix of large and small holes, and full of flavor. I also couldn't resist picking up two Valentine heart sugar cookies with jam because they were just too cute. The only minor downside was that the employee who helped me wasn't very smiley. Not rude at all, and my order was handled quickly, but it felt a bit different from the warm cafe vibe you might expect. Prices are higher than if you went to a mom and pop bakery but this was expected. Overall, a great stop for quality bread.
