I went in once before and asked for a pizza strip and lemon square and did get the pizza strip but got some kind of almond cookie instead of the lemon square? I tried to connect with them on it but no luck. I also had an iced coffee on that visit and it was awful. I went back today for an iced coffee since I was in the area and the coffee was definitely better this time around but still mediocre. If you're visit here, I'd suggest not getting coffee and checking your bag of goodies before you leave and then this will be a 5 star experience.

Ridiculously cheap and can easily make a meal here with a sandwich, some of their other hot options and a sweet treat. The service was friendly and answered all the questions we had. This is definitely a local-heavy spot hidden in plain sight on tauton ave. Few tables inside of the you wanted to enjoy your food and pastry there. Would be a good spot to meet up with a friend for a quick in and out chat or on the way to your next destination. The pb chocolate brownie was OK, texture was fantastic but wasn't heavy on flavor in terms of chocolate or peanut butter. Would definitely try their other pastry. There were a lot of really great looking things in that case. The sandwich was very tasty. I would have preferred some more peppers on it and some melted cheese would have been a chefs kiss, however for the price, no complaints out of me.

This morning, I decided to swing thru on my way to see my mother. On Charles St in the north end of Providence, this quaint spot proudly announced itself to the neighborhood with the building and trash cans matching the Italian tri colors of their open flag waving in the wind. Inside was a gorgeous selection of pastries, prepared foods, breads and more. I was there for two reasons, pizza strips and zeppole. My targets were acquired, plus an apple turnover and I took my goodies to Bristol. The strips delicious, soft but not mushy. They still have some chew to it but it gave easily when you bit into it. The sauce was generous and garlicky. Every bite made you want to take another! I'm glad I got two! The zeppole was great. The pastry was crisp and tasted fresh. The custard was similar to vanilla pudding in taste and very smooth, too. They put just the right amount. It was easy to eat where you had filling in each bite but it didn't overflow and make a mess. Finally, the apple turnover was awesome. The pastry was flaky and a little extra crispy from the sugar crust on top. The apple filling was all the way through the pastry, so even though we split the turnover three ways, each of us were able to have the same experience. Overall, I am pleased to have found this spot. I'm definitely coming back. I now have 4 places off the top of my head within 10 minutes if my house to get fantastic pizza strips. Super happy about the recommendation!

I first discovered this excellent bakery when I first moved to my sweetheart's hometown in the…read more70's. Everything they make is outstanding and I have been a regular customer locally and from afar for over four decades, it's super quality tasty stuff!! Portuguese immigrants Eliseu & Emanuelina Amaral began baking sweetbread out of their garage and by 1963 they established Amaral's Bakery. They not only provide sweetbread, rolls, and other great products in their Fall Right ver, MA storefront but they're also distributed in regional grocery stores. In adiition they have a very good online service that allows those of us who've relocated out of the area to continue to enjoy their great breads and other products. Bolos and Massa with or without raisins, sliced sweet bread for toast, homemade pound cake, and lemon or plain biscoitos, those are my honey's favorites. Let's talk about bread, I have found since moving away from New England that it's damn near impossible to find good bread, specifically in the south like TN, MS & AL. I supposed I got spolied by living in Portuguese and Italian communities where bread is so central to practically every meal. But I keep thinking, just how hard can it be to make a decent piece of bread? Apparently too hard, but I digress :-) Yes their sweetbread is excellent but I am addicted to their Portuguese rolls! I used to buy them several times a week and sometimes I would get them while they were still HOT! Oh yeah, it's very much like the Krispy Kreme tingly thrill when you get those hot doughnuts. Sooo I used to get friends to FedEx those Portuguese rolls to me in the 90's but these days I simply go to their website and order up several dozen at a time and boom, addiction satisfied :-) Another big advantage is being able to order chourcio (Portuguese sausage) links, patties, etc. and other great stuff like Malasadas and coffee milk. Bottle line: The people here are fantastic and they put out a consistently excellent high-quality bunch of products. Highly recommended!!

The person behind the counter let me know that their menu changes weekly based on the what ingredients are in season and available. Another customer told me that everything is good and that I couldn't go wrong with whatever I selected. The items they sell are on the pricy side but absolutely worth it because of the quality ingredients they use in their baked goods. One bite and you can taste the difference. I've only had it once and it didn't do anything for me. We have so many good coffee shops in the neighborhood and never thought of coming back here for coffee. I will try their coffee again since it's been a while. The store is rather small, but it isn't intended on a dine in experience.
